Noted ma..thanks

I will try that...but I doubt if she will want to part with any money but I will try that option if am to return the car as advised

Your wife has a solid point. If you’re willing to pay her monthly for 15 months, you might as well save up that money and get a better car. Return the car, count your losses and move on.

I don't know why am having the feeling I should leave my office work and become a mechanic.

Seems Mechanics are cashing out big time on our ignorance.

DIY is a good thing, but you need major tools + lots of experience if you want a career change. Also, you need to know your way around cars/ car parts. It’s not that easy, one successful YouTube diagnosis does not a mechanic make.

I had a funny experience this morning.. wink

So I picked this lady from Providence Str Lekki, destination was Opebi Ikeja.

While approaching 7up from 3mb, I decided to listen to what Gmap was saying.

"Turn Right at the Fork, follow signs to Maryland" I was looking for the Maryland sign before I know what was happening I was already on s⁷Mile 12 road grin.

Rider had her shade on, eyes fixed on her phone, i was hoping I'd see a turning to go back, didn't see any, the moment I saw 'Welcome To Mile 12 International Market' I turned to rider, excuse me, did you say you were going to Opebi, she said yes. That was when she looked up and shouted Jesus, where is this, she saw the Mile 12 sign by the bridge.

I told her I don't know how it happened, I was just following the map.

Made a U-turn under the bridge, everywhere was Red in the map, her only concern was the extra money she will have to pay. I told her not to worry, I will give her discount.

At the end of the trip, fare was 4000, I collected 3500.

I was just thinking all through the trip, what if this was the annoying girl I picked yesterday night that was just dishing out orders to me, wahala for happen, infact I will chop 1X.

The girl would say: Oga drive like a driver nah, I am hungry drive fast abeg. Why you stop for traffic lights at 12am...etc

I was just looking at her from the rear mirror without giving her a response.

You took the “right @ the fork” a lil too early. There’s a second “right”.

Hi bro, am a jjc here.
pls is there another way to upload inspection report (Uber) apart from the driver app?
I have uploaded only the 1st page (9 pages) but they are rejecting it; saying incomplete page.
Try using the website.

Where is this coming from

Personal experience and app notification.

I once had a rider who was low on cash and he asked me to check trip price if it’s reached his budget, I obliged. 5 minutes later, he made the same request, I obliged again. Immediately after the 2nd price check, I got a notification on the app that the trip price won’t be updated except I changed destination. I did, but the price at the end of the journey was ridiculous. I complained to UBER, a review was done and I was paid accordingly.

Also picked up some riders from EKO Hotel to Eko Atlantic. Short distance, got there and ended the trip only for riders to change their minds about destination. Proceeded to the new destination and price didn’t change even though trip was on 1.5 surge.

Does it mean bolt is fixing its price and the price wont change irrespective of paths taken and KMs covered to reach the destination?

I only drive on UBER, so I cannot speak about Bolt.

Nice write up bro. Thanks for the info. Yesterday I took a rider from Ikoyi to jakande 1st gate and she asked me to wait let her quickly rush up to drop her items and that I should take her to cadogan in jakande. While she came down I checked the fare it was 2k, she spent about 10minutes and when we started moving I checked again the same 2k, we got to her destination and I ended the trip still 2k. I told her that I have to do review. I did review and put 2500 uptill now it is still on review. However, I she gave me 2,200 that whatever it is I should call her. I was really angry. Same yesterday, in the afternoon I took a guy from karimu kotun vi to eko hotel to change money, from eko hotel to the palms and waited for him 15minutes then to friends colony in jakande to pick up something and from there to his final destination inside jakande when I ended the trip I saw 2,300 I was mad!!!

Abeg!!! Anybody with saka should help my ministry. Pls, call me 07059962728.

Thanks

You do yourself a disservice when you check price of a trip before the trip actually ends. In most cases, if you don’t change destination in the app, the price would remain the same.

Instead of embarrassment from anyhow riders, there’s option to just buy vouchers which they accept at the Lekki ikoyi link bridge. Attachment below. I bought 10 which is 3k. Due to slow systems in getting etags

Doesn’t this defeat the purpose?
They might as well keep collecting cash.

Don't mind those people, I was there on the 26th, after all said and done , they promised to call me for pick up BUT the Nigerian factor has set in and even as I type, no phone call yet to come pick up my etag. I just know they are not ready for what they have introduced.
.

My thoughts exactly, when you said you were told you would be called.

Exactly what I did, which at that point, applying scale of pref and wisdom is the best to do. Do I just allow a scammer to go, maybe I can do one more thing and that made me report it here, for others to know what's on d street maybe, I learnt everything about ehailing on this thread! Uber just paid back! Did you read this boy's response to this your post? Do you think any reasonable partner can give this one his car? Can this one deliver even 10k rental with this attitude? And he's still bragging! He has no sense and his proud of his senseless state! Read my post u don see any rude post from me to anyone here except this idiot.

Y’all should learn to overlook things every now and then. You don’t agree with his assessment, move on. Very soon you would berate a rider for his/her attitude

Rider: Hello Sir, please are you at cold stone magodo already
Me: Yes
Rider: Please I’d like you to buy and deliver ice cream to magodo Isheri.
Me: You mean you aren’t here and I’ll be buying with my money?

Rider: Please. Ok send your account details, if you don’t mind.

Good morning guys, happy holidays. So I just sorted my Ikoyi link bridge toll, waiting to be called for pick. Easy process as Izzou mentioned, just make sure you go with at least 2k cash, no P.O.S here .

Was there around 7:30. Was told they’ll open by noon. Couldn’t wait.

Hmmm, when an average Uber drive does that within a month.

That’s the maintenance culture you keep hearing. If you cover that much distance in a month, it means you need to change your oil (+ filter) more frequently.

This is a sad experience
I think 32k fine was too much na
@bold u should have canceled & left.
Drivers should learn to follow their instinct, u must not carry every rider. Once a situation turns out to be threatening & the rider is not cooperating with u, it is best u leave. So u don't end up paying 20k fine for 500 naira trip.

In addition, it’s an airport trip, if you cancel without having left the airport radius, you’d still be next in line.

Yeah you are right but you know how the game is here, na do or die affair you default the HP man will repossess his car and all your cash is gone

You know the story of how if seldom goes in HP here...

That’s where the beauty of a well thought out agreement comes into play. I don’t see why anybody would agree to forfeit all he/she has paid because you miss 1 or 2 payments. I’m not advocating for defaulting on payments, but life happens, sometimes beyond your control, everything needs to be factored into the agreement.

Eye opening question. Something I myself thought of and concluded I just can't devote my 18month servicing debt....

Am sure he has thought it through

18 months to acquire a property is another way to look at it. Ultimately, it depends on the individual. After all, the developed countries we all wish our beloved country would be like, all na “pay small small”
