Competition is allowed in bizness. Let them reintroduce it. But how many companies staff, bank staffs, CEO,MD's will want to book them for pick up and drop off?
No estate will ever allow them in for pick up and drop off.
What has nigerian govt/LASG ever managed successfully in history?
It will collapse soon. We are all in lagos

Someone would have made a killing with the ridiculous amount the cars would be bought for, and that’s all they care about. It’d most likely be another half-baked idea with no follow through

This is to all saying rentals should be above N30k.
Uber has set the rentals range for you.

This is very good bargain for those that want HP.
Whoever came up with this obviously carried out a survey, realized the modal rental is N25k and decided to reduce his/hers by N2k.

The $1m question is the hidden terms and conditions, not the weekly rental

good for you, logistic officer, how am i sure you are even a logistic officer or you just want to cover up because of the help, you just writing without posting evidences.

i have read that story before, my own is i want evidences... evidences and facts always connect the dots and show the real story

in naijaland, someone need 4 brain to survive in this land..many people in this naijaland are fiction writers, they tell fables for us to believe

i am not mischievous, just asking questions. grin

Just let it go already and stop being ridiculous.
You’re asking for evidence. What type of evidence? Do you want him to post his ID or something on a public forum? Please!!!

No one is asking you to believe him. You read a story that seems like fiction to you, laugh and move on.

Guy said he uses a dual sim phone loaded with data, meaning both SIMS have active data subscription, and your conclusion was that he was bragging about his phone. Someone explained it to you and you still don’t get it.

How long?8 months
Have you ever rented a car for the purpose of ehailing like uber or bolt? No
How long?

If you can give answers to all of these questions then I can have an argument wirh you, otherwise, I see nothing to relate with you.

A 20 yrs old boy. God have mercy!

Not to overflog the issue, but the 20yr old guy chose to drive extensively towards whatever target he set for himself.

Unpopular opinion
There’s more profit in e-hailing for the driver. Partner makes considerably less

Arent you driving uber here in Lagos, isn't he also driving in Lagos, are you in bonny camp to verify for us. So I should travel to bonny camp, when smartphone can easily give us evidence

As a rule of thumb, never trust anything written online especially from Nigerians without evidence.

Everybody always claim big man online, it is the Nigerian way.

Or is it a crime to ask what an ex military man, an engineer in a oil company, man who has travelled to different countries still doing driving uber even with his tight schedules as an engineer in the oil and gas industry.

There are some stories written by the same person that are hard to believe, the famous one was the staffs he met in a hotel while doing uber.

I couldn’t help myself

Excuse me sir.
I think you should read my post with understanding before responding, which your response isn't necessary.
- where did I mention that the guy is complaining?
I did what I did out of pity, not because he complained, not because he begged me for anything.
If I didn't have a conversation with him I wouldn't have known anything about him, just that its my style to know any driver that comes my way. I'm off the ehauling wheel, but whenever I see a Corolla involved in any issue I must stop by to know how I can help, have you done that before?

I hate it when we are talking about Nigeria someone will bring in another country as a yardstick.
- if Nigerian was very okay then why were you in London? (If at all you were there)
- can you compare Nigerian economy to London?
- can you compare Nigerian's fare to London?
- how many 20yrs old in Nigeria can affor a car of their own?
- do you know how much uber charged from international airport to my house, with the one hour he slept in my place? And he never complained, rather he was excited.

Throughout my service years in the military and as an instrumentation and controls engineer in the oil and gas industry I've been to more than ten countries (outside Africa) but I've not used it to judge anyone.

- in Brazil, do you know that the number one Schneider Knx programmer as at 2016 when I met him he was 18?
- do you know that one of the highest paid instrumentation engineer in Angola now working with one of the E & Ps is 20 this year?
- one of the OEM (in Australia) that certified me in Process Controls their best technician is below 20.
- not to mention the ones I met in military out there
Should I mention more?

This is Nigeria, let's see how we can help each other, that's the way forward, instead of using it against them.
The said guy will be going to PH on Sunday with my logistics officer, I was able to connect him with some friends, 3 companies awaits him there.

Thats the way forward.

Bless up. I always admire your kind heart. Keep it up

Nissan Ser was bought brand new 2005 , used the car for 15 years.. Basically I drove the car to the ground ....

Now for the unknowingly part.. I went to a dealer auction. Saw the car and I knew that is what I wanted.. Excellent shape clear title and it was a trade in from another major car dealer.. Told my auction dealer this is my car ... .. Dealer even discourage me because from buying it ,because it might be too expensive and not in my budget .. Luckily enough I won the car, drove it and notice that the car is not fast like my old Nissan Ser Altima.. And than realize it was a G25x with 218hp... am use to fast cars ...but at the end of it all the car rides nice and smooth ...great in the snow ....only issue is that it is not fast at all for me ...

Sell am to me na. And buy the G35.

When was this? This year, last year or 4 yrs ago?

The highest numbers od trips ive done on uber was 47 which was last week. My account was credited with about 31k+ on Monday which I used part to pay for my rental. The cash I got on me was about 10k, after filling up my tank on Monday b4 travelling outta state I was left with about 9k or there about.

Any driver with more than 50trips this period with the current traffic we have now in lagos should pls show us a snapshot

Oga, in the name of Jeaua u will come back to Lagos Nigeria and drive.

35k weekly rental in 2020?! Wicked!!

Add some cash to the 500k, get a good mechanic, and then look for a close to tokunbo Nigerian used car; you can invest that instead of waiting to pay off 2.5m

Really good advice

Thank you for the link ..when I was saying that they are more like employee, drivers were fighting me with nail and tooth...

This still doesn’t make drivers employees everywhere. The law of the land in that region has stipulated that, somewhere else, that might not be the case.

Uber has termed drivers as independent contractor, that’s how the company wants to view them. You want a different tag, take them to court.

I intend on driving with my Lexus Es300 on Uber but I don’t know if it will be profitable due to the fuel usage. Anyone has advice for me?

You’ll most likely get more discouraged than encouraged. My opinion though is to go ahead. It’s your car, no weekly delivery. One thing is definite, you won’t run at a loss. Try it out, then decide if your profit margin is worth it.

The reality is this:

The enemy of a man is another man like himself not a woman

who will rob another man when he has nothing-- another man like him
who will kill another man just for fun- another man like him
who will scam defraud a man-another man like him
who will steal, kill and rape his woman- another man like him
who will kidnap him, his wife and children-another man like him
who will steal his car and property-another man like him

90% of crimes are carried out by men to attack other men, men thinking women are their problems are the weak and frustrated ones, they cant stand the strong men, to have a sense of superiority, they take their anger on women, see those men when arguing with their fellow men, you will pity for them.

You accused someone of seeking attention with this style of writing and you’re doing the same.

Y’all are quick to call each other names (on a faceless forum, for crying out loud).

You can all agree to disagree in a civil manner. Better still, just ignore quotes you feel are petty and let some semblance of sanity reign.

Crappy belts. Slight possibility misaligned but probably crappy belts. What kind of belts are you buying?

I did buy one crappy belt, one seemingly good one and then used a “follow come” from a similar car, when it was becoming a daily thing.

Pls be informed that the main reason behind the VIO PALAVA is that the Lagos state govt. and UBER had been at loggerheads since 2016.

Lagos state govt had wanted UBER to obtain operating license since 2016, but up until now, UBER has been dribbling Lagos state govt. This is why the government has decided to get the revenue from drivers directly.

If u are stopped by the VIO, even if u have the hackney permit and lasdri, they will still ask you for your operating license which obviously nobody has.

The shocking part is that even if u pay the 20k fine for not having all these, your car would still not be released. They would now charge you for another offence which is "using a private car for commercial purpose"

Their main aim is to regulate the e hailers by giving all the drivers a tag, so that they could start generating revenues from them or make them fall under NURTW by forcing them to obtain the red plate numbers.

So , guys, what I think we should be talking about is how we will massively go offline on Monday. By this, even the riders will cry out, thereby putting a pressure on the govt. When moving around becomes so hectic, they will come to their senses I know there are some drivers that have had covenant with poverty. They would feel like dying if they don't put on their APPS in a day. Pls tell those people that we need our unity now like never before.

If we had a solid union or association, this is the time it would have been useful.

From these e-hailing business, UBER and BOLT make more money than any driver. So, if there is massive logout, they will surely lose more. They should handle this.

This is my own opinion;

Let's begin to talk about massive logout.

Put it plainly, this battle cannot be won.

The government will probably not force Uber and co outta the country because they pay tax (not just theirs, but tax for every driver). That’s huge revenue for the government. The government wants more, so they need Uber to be registered as a taxi service in order to have them pay an operator license. Uber is claiming not to be one, the government’s solution is now to take it out on the drivers.

If you go ahead with the hackney permit, you shoot yourself in the foot. You cannot do that without changing your car registration from private to commercial, because if you do, the next “offense” would be “ why is your car private and you’re using it commercially”? Another fine.

If you do go commercial, then you need an operators’ license to work.

If the government decides to clamp down, it is a lose/lose situation for drivers.
