Femi Fani-Kayode Contrary to President Goodluck Jonathan’s dismissal of the Ekiti rigging audio recording as a fabrication that is not worth his attention, the spokesperson for his campaign, Femi Fani-Kayode has admitted that the tape is genuine but that the characters involved in the meeting captured in the recording were not discussing how to rig the 2014 governorship election in Ekiti state. Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Mr. Fani- Kayode said his team had listened to and reviewed the recording and that it came to the conclusion that the opposition All Progressives Congress turned fact on its head by claiming that Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state; former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro; and the Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan, who featured in the recording, planned how to rig the election. “We have listened to the audio clip and we make bold to say that the discussion that took place in it did not make any mention of any form of rigging in the Ekiti state governorship election and neither did it contain any evidence of any conspiracy to rig,” he said. Mr. Fani-Kayode also said rather than attempting to orchestrate rigging, what the audio clip clearly revealed was Governor Fayose expressing concerns that a military commander was not acting on information about illegal movement of weapons into certain parts of the state. “The Governor and others were apparently worried that safety of the voters and INEC officials could be compromised if security measures were not strictly enforced,” he said. Mr Fani-Kayode’s admission of the authenticity of the tape is another chapter in the series of contradictory responses from the ruling party and those at the centre of the vote rigging plot. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, last Friday, Mr. Jonathan said he would not investigate the authenticity of the audio recording because it was a “fabrication.” “It’s all fabrications. Why should I investigate things that are not real?” he asked. Using forensic analysis that compared the voices in the recording with public record samples of the individuals in the recording, Guardian Consulting, The New York-based security firm, that helped authenticate the recordings, confirmed that the tape was genuine. “The voices from the recording were subjected to a Forensic Voice Frequency Comparison against known samples and were found to match to a 98 per cent degree of certainty,” the firm said. Mr Jonathan’s dismissal of the tape as a fabrication came after Mr Obanikoro denied taking part in the meeting and threatened to sue PREMIUM TIMES and Sahara Reporters for their vigorous reporting on the matter. Mr. Adesiyan confessed that the recording was genuine but that it was more of an altercation between Mr. Fayose and Mr. Momoh after the former accused the later of favouring the then governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi. “Fayose accused the General who supervised the Ekiti election of taking bribe from Fayemi and APC, that was two days before the election. They called me because they said the General disarmed policemen and I told him to allow the policemen to do their job,” he told the Sunday Punch newspaper. After initially claiming his voice was manipulated using speech software such as Natural Voices, Mr. Fayose later admitted during a political event in Ekiti that it was his voice that was captured in the tape but claimed he was rebuking Mr. Momoh for favouring the APC. “If you listen to the tape about military rigging in Ekiti. Listen to the tape you will see that I was the one accusing the army of compromise. Listen, take time to listen. But they would come back with propaganda and saying it all as if the whole world of propaganda belongs to them,” he said. Counter Allegation While challenging the APC to do a critical content analysis of the discussions in the audio clip, Mr. Fani- Kayode said it was the APC that rigged the governorship election in Osun state. “During the course of those elections, some of their agents gathered in secret locations where they thumb-printed ballot papers in favor of their governorship candidate, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola,” he said. Mr. Fani Kayode also played a video tape he claimed proved the APC rigged the election in Osun state. “It is ironic that instead of purging itself of its own insatiable appetite for rigging and cheating, the APC, through its Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, chose to call a press conference in which he alleged that our leaders were ordering soldiers to rig in Ekiti state. “This is a clear case of the pot calling the kettle black,” he said. APC, Buhari calling for violence At his press conference, Mr. Fani-Kayode also accused the APC and its presidential candidate of veiled attempts to instigate violence in the country, while also undermining the nation’s armed forces. “It is now very clear to us that the APC is determined to cause security breaches in the next few weeks. This has been confirmed by their vigorous campaign of calumny against the military and their consistent demand that soldiers must not be deployed for security surveillance at the polling booths in the forthcoming elections,” he said. Mr. Fani-Kayode also alleged what he termed subtle threat of violence by Mr. Buhari at an APC leadership meeting in Abuja on Tuesday. “General Buhari said that the patience of the APC and its leaders were on test. One wonders what he means by that and what he and his supporters intend to do once that patience runs out. “In an AFP news report of Friday, February 6, 2015, he was asked if he would accept the outcome of the presidential election no matter how unfavourable. Listen to his answer: “I am not going to lose; so I won’t answer that question.” “Again, only yesterday, Wednesday, February 18, 2015, in an interview on ARISE Television, General Buhari was asked what his reaction would be if he loses the election. His answer was: “We shall see.” “As far as we are concerned, these are ominous and subtle threats to unleash violence on the Nigerian people and all those that he perceives are his enemies in the event of his losing the election,” he said. Mr. Fani-Kayode said Mr. Buhari has succeeded in inflaming the destructive passion of his supporters in the northern part of the country on many occasions in the past. “We recall his unacceptable remarks on May 15, 2012 when he said “if what happened in 2011 should happen again in 2015, the dog and the baboon would be soaked in blood”. “We witnessed the orgy of violence that they unleashed shortly after the announcement of the results of the 2011 presidential election, which the Sheik Lemu Committee, in its report to the Federal Government, said was caused by Buhari’s inflammatory statements. “We recall with sadness the massacre of some of our vibrant youth corps members who participated in the 2011 election as INEC’s ad-hoc staff in Bauchi State. “We are concerned that the same thing may happen again given General Buhari’s divisive and inciting comments coupled with the APC’s violent disposition,” Mr. Fani-Kayode said. He said the attempt by the APC to discredit the use of soldiers by promoting some “misleading audio footage of the so-called rigging during the Ekiti governorship election, in which one Captain Sagir Koli was the dramatis personae, is childish and absurd”. He said the Nigerian Government deployed soldiers in the Anambra, Edo, Ondo, Ekiti and Osun gubernatorial elections and all those elections were devoid of violence. “Remarkably, the APC won in Edo and Osun; APGA won in Anambra, Labour Party won in Ondo while PDP won only in Ekiti State,” he said. He added that the basis on which the APC is agitating for the exclusion of soldiers from the election by sponsoring court cases is patently dubious and untenable. “The reason that the APC and its leaders do not want soldiers deployed is to be able to intimidate voters and unleash violence on the polity once they lose the elections. “They know that it would be far more difficult for them to do that when soldiers are on the streets. “With these dishonourable tactics and desperate acts by the APC, we are the ones who should be worried and who should be complaining but, unlike Buhari and the APC, our patience is not running out because we are committed to a peaceful election and we completely reject the option of violence,” he said. Ogboru a Chronic Debtor, hates paying debts —AMCON FEB 07, 2015 BY ADE ADESOMOJU Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria on Thursday described former governorship candidate for the Democratic Peoples Party in Delta State, Great Ogboru, as a “chronic debtor.” AMCON’s lawyer, Kunle Ogunba,SAN, said this at a Federal High Court, Lagos, while reacting to an application by Ogboru, challenging the court’s jurisdiction to entertain a debt recovery suit filed against him. Ogunba said Ogboru “is a chronic debtor who does not like to pay his debt.” He said Ogboru was always jumping from one court to another court to get injunction to stop AMCON’s recovery process. The lawyer said Ogboru and his company, Fiogret Limited, who are both defendants in the suit, “take delight in taking loan from banks, without paying back”. “The action of people like Ogboru wrecked some banks in Nigeria,” Ogunba said. Ogboru, in another application filed through his lawyer, Prof. McCarthy Mbadugha, described the suit as an abuse of court process, claiming that there was a pending suit before a Federal High Court, Abuja, on the same subject matter. Mbadugha added that the federal court had earlier perpetually restrained AMCON from taking over Ogboru’s properties. He also urged the court to dismiss the suit, saying it was unacceptable for Ogunba to appear as a counsel for AMCON. Part of his grounds for seeking that the suit be dismissed was on the grounds that Ogunba already had financial interest in the matter, having been appointed as receiver/manager of Ogboru’s property that AMCON had earlier seized. http://www.punchng.com/news/ogboru-hates-paying-debts-amcon/ |
Obasanjo explodes again – Buhari’ll win this election; even Jonathan didn’t complete his PhD, we covered him BY NEWSPUNCH ON JANUARY 22, 2015 HOME, NEWS, POLITICS, REPORT “Even Jonathan did not finish his PhD course but when it was presented we stated that, it does not matter but many people do not know because it was PDP thing.” – Obasanjo Former Nigeria President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has predicted that the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari will be the next Nigerian President which why those who are afraid of him are creating so many obstacles on his way, Saying “a general is always a general. Obasanjo, who was reacting to the controversies generated over the school certificate of General Buhari said: “I see Buhari as the next President and Jonathan is aware of that, and that is the reason they are hitting him everywhere to put confusion in his camp. But a General is always a General… “ The former President said the truth of the matter is that Jonathan is aware that Buhari is qualified to contest for President election but that “some hawks with Jonathan do not want him to contest because they believed that he will win and come for them. “The issue (of Buhari’s certificate) came up in 2007, and we investigated and found out that his WASC is with the military and that was why he was allowed to contest in 2007. Buhari cannot listen to anyone about his certificates because as a General of Nigeria Army, he will speak when he chooses, not by Femi Fani Kayode and Okupe asking him. Fayose and other corrupt people including Kashamu do not want Buhari because of his anti-corruption slogan. “Even Jonathan did not finish his PhD course but when it was presented we stated that, it does not matter but many people do not know because it was PDP thing.” |
We’ve been buying, selling votes since 1960, Jonathan admits on january 17, 2015 at 5:22 am in news Facebook Share Twitter Share By Ben Agande and Peter Okutu, Abakaliki President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday said that there had not been any free and fair elections in the country since Nigeria’s independence in 1960, as what had been happening since then was that people have been “buying and selling votes.” Jonathan, however asked Nigerians especially the youths not to allow anybody to buy their votes during the forth coming elections as this would not be allowed to continue. . He spoke at Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, while addressing a large crowd of party supporters at the Abakaliki Township Stadium in the course of his nationwide wide campaign. Jonathan who is also, the presidential candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, wished that he would live to see a woman emerge as the president and as a governor in the country, pointing out that this was the major reason he had deliberately appointed women into prominent positions to expose and prepare them for greater challenges ahead. However, his chief host and governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Martin Elechi was prevented from speaking during the rally by the restive crowd which booed and heckled at him most of the time. Sources said that Elechi must have been disallowed from speaking by the crowd, due to the bad blooded generated during the gubernatorial primary which saw the emergence of his deputy, Mr Dave Umahi as the candidate of the party instead of his preferred candidate, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, the former minister of health. Elechi pitched his tent with Chukwu while the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim and other political bigwigs in the state supported Umahi. However, Jonathan who was accompanied to Abakaliki by the Vice President, Namadi Sambo, his wife, Patience, the National Chairman of the PDP, Adamu Muazu, the Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Dr Ahmadu Ali as well as the Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu promised to ensure that Ebonyi always got its share from the federal government. Addressing youths whom he said were the leaders of the next generation, Jonathan emphasised that they must not allow themselves to be to be bought over by politicians who do not mean well for them. “Our campaign is for the young people. Our time is almost gone. We must change our circumstance. The young people should join us. Nobody should deceive you; nobody should buy your votes. Since 1960, we have been buying and selling votes and we don’t want to continue like this. If you want development, you have to join PDP to develop” he said. Speaking on the position of women, Jonathan said women would continue to play pivotal roles in his government. “For women, your vote is crucial. We have given identity to Nigerian women. This is not the end. We want Nigerian women to be paraded at the global level. We must expose our women. “This is the only administration that is ready to give every position to women. My aspiration is to see a female president before I die,” he further noted. He also noted that the development challenge facing Ebonyi, was daunting, being one of the last states to be created along with his home state of Bayelsa, by the military administration, adding that the Federal Government would rely on the state to ensure that its policy of stopping the importation of rice into the country in the next four years was achieved. Jonathan, had earlier paid homage to the traditional rulers in Ebonyi State at the International Conference Conference Centre where he told them that he was in the state to solicit the support of the people for the forthcoming elections. In his remarks, the Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Dr. Ahmadu Ali said he was very proud of Ebonyi State because of their warm reception of the campaign team. The SGF, Anyim Pius Anyim told the crowd that Jonathan deserved their votes because of what he had done for them and the country. He gave 10 reasons why Jonathan should be voted again. Some of the reasons, he said, included his non-violent nature; absence of political prisoners in the country since he was elected and his non- discriminatory attitude. Anyim further said that Jonathan did not want his presence to become a nuisance to Nigerians adding that he was also not a fanatic even as he had liberated women, as well as empowered youths and above all, appointed an Ebonyi son as SGF. I will provide more jobs, not prisons -Jonathan On job creation, Jonathan said: “That is one of the reasons we are giving such scholarships so that in future, Nigerians will be able to produce some of our basic needs; countries that are at our levels have advanced so much. I remember that Alhaji Maitama Sule had always said that the Defence Industry in Nigeria with that of Brazil were established at the same time but while that of Brazil is now manufacturing aircraft, our own is busy manufacturing chairs. We say we must change that and for you to change that, you must change the manpower to do that. |

THE Laity Council across the nation has expressed worries over the reported gathering storm by the Catholic Bishops of Nigeria to sanction Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka over his recent comments on the state of the nation. Their worry, according to, Dr Paul Obi stems from the erroneous impression the move would give to the public and the international community about the intolerant posture of Nigerian government on freedom of expression. That this would cast a big shadow of doubt about our democratic development and plurality of opinions. Asking rhetorically, Obi who was flanked by other members of the Laity Council, including Chief Christopher Inalegwu, wanted to know if we are now in Idi Amin Dada era, where ‘freedom of expression is free, but freedom after the expression would not be guaranteed’ The council members, in an interview with journalists in Enugu yesterday recalled that “our dear Anthony Cardinal Okogie had in the past bitterly criticized the administration of former Gen Ibrahim Babangida. No one attacked him then, or even now. They also noted that Joseph Cardinal Onayekan, during the last election of President Goodluck Jonathan had openly, expressed his support for the President, contrary to the position of the Justice, Development and Peace Commission(JDPC) of the church. Publicly he denied the opinion of the JDPC, to the shame of the international community. No one sanctioned him too. The President of Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor’s private jet according to them was recently stopped in South Africa with millions of dollars for whatever mission, which resulted in a bitter diplomatic row between the Nigerian government and that of South Africa. Today the matter is resolved, but no one thought of sanctions for him! Again, Mr Ralph Egbuonu, the Principal partner at Equipment & Technologies, in one of the reactions noted that priests in Central America have been daring to speak out on local corrupt practices, drug cartel activities as well as bad political administration. That if President Jonathan has done a good job within the past six years, he should run on his record, and no jupiter will stop him from winning. That what Nigerians are clamoring for is good governance - that’s all. Today, Fr Mbaka has been accused of outrageous things, including allegation that he was offered money and oil bloc. What for, they asked? But that instead he gives abundantly to the flock and the non- members of his flock, Christians and non-Christians, giving out scholarships to many less privileged Nigerians. He undertakes hospital bills, widows support, foreign treatment, etc. He clearly has no use for earthly gains and acquisitions. They therefore urge clergies of all Christian denominations, citizens and political Christians who were believed to be behind the “crucify Fr Mbaka” chants, to mind their language, speak only what they know and desist from wild allegations and accusations. They noted ironically that Fr Mbaka has never had any contact with Gen Muhammad Buhari. Or has ever received a kobo from any political camp that would induce his prophetic utterance. Chief Inalegwu opined that sanctioning Fr Mbaka would subtly invite a religious crisis which we may all regret later. According to him, “we are happy with Fr Mbaka. We appreciate his prophetic courage. He noted that all he said were the bitter truth. “We must always be ready to accept the truth no matter how bitter it tastes. Yes, some will say that Fr Mbaka is not Okogie, Onayekan or even Oritsejafor. That they are all heads of the church. That Fr Mbaka is only a Parish Priest. Of course this gives him opportunity of closer encounter with his more than ten million member flock, to know and share in their pains, worries and concerns. He is indeed God’s servant. “We join him to maintain that if Jonathan cannot defend the church and the nation from insurgents that are clearly sponsored by persons which Jonathan confirmed that he knows them, he should humbly resign for whoever that can guarantee security for the Church and the entire Nigerians. We equally solicit for a committed war against corruption at all levels and facets of our national life. So, is this why Fr Mbaka should be sanctioned? “Immorality is becoming a malignant growth in Nigeria, as well as joblessness and we are holistically supporting Fr Mbaka as they are some of the issues he commented on. He represents God’s voice for us. Note should also be taken that the present pontiff, Pope Francis has recently expressed his concern over the horrible position of the government of the day- the killing of innocent Nigerian souls. Let us not give the devil opportunity to mess up the Church any further. We believe no one is considering sanctioning the Pontiff. He wondered why no one appeared ready or committed to giving the message from Fr Mbaka a serious thought and consideration, instead some political jobbers across the country have been pelting him with bitter words, hate, threats and all manners of un-Christian and uncivilized dispositions. They noted that the Bible stated that God reveals to redeem. Jonathan, as well as all these people now harassing Fr Mbaka should seek ways to redeem all that have gone wrong, not bitter words at all. Another member, Otunba Olaleka Charles Balogun appealed to all to join in daily prayers for Fr Mbaka and to encourage him with whatever they could, for what God has been doing through him for humanity. That he is the voice of the voiceless, an unusual philanthropist; a priest for the poor and the less privileged. He admitted that they deeply respect him for his life of immeasurable charity and the adoration of the blessed sacrament. Disclosing that he is not even an Igboman, but has become united with every Igbo including Fr Mbaka having known him for the past 18years as a priest, Rev Fr Johnbosco Williams described Fr Mbaka as a magnet of souls. “That millions of Christians are followers of Christ through him. So let us not allow the politicians to divide us, rather we should unite to speak out against injustice, insecurity, joblessness, embezzlement of public funds, sponsored insurgency, etc. Fr Mbaka is a solution provider not a problem! And any attempt to place any sanction on him will simply mean that the Church has now taken a questionable side with the government-choosing Barnabas and rejecting Christ. Williams said they expect the priests and Bishops to exercise all their functions as priests, kings and prophets fully without any form of hindrance. Let them remain our spokesmen without fear or favour. Fr Mbaka never attacked the Church or insulted its hierarchy. Why then is the Church masterminding sanctions that may futuristically have a boomerang effect. Let the Church hierarchy face other serious and challenging issues that would guarantee a better Nigeria instead of getting itself busy planning unnecessary sanctions on Fr Mbaka. We love our bishops and the Church. We love our priests also. There cannot be a complete Church without the Laity, the Lay and the Priests. We are speaking because we are involved. The Laity is the heartbeat of the Church. Our fears is that any attempt to sanction or punish him by the Church may tantamount to loss of faith in the Church by all. After all we all know that Fr Mbaka cannot join issues, reply or confront anyone! Not even the Church. Fr Mbaka, Lady Eunice Okereke, a grandmother, disclosed that Fr Mbaka is well loved and respected by the Lay people, the children, the youth and the aged. She admitted that Fr Mbaka means for them “salus animarum”, literally meaning- salvation of souls. He wondered whether those calling for sanction want him to go and marry and join the Laity, or to begin his own church? To imprison him or to do what? Or are you sure the aim was not driven by jealousy? Because, there would always be many Fr Mbaka if we succeed to force him out? What of many such heavily anointed fiery clergies who have remained on fire for Christ even after being sanctioned by the Church. They all left with a large followers. All those who are playing both open and covert part in this act of sabotage against God’s anointed, do they have what it takes to bear the repercussion when it comes on them and their families. Fr Mbaka is not a problem. Let us look for the nation’s problems and solve it. Period! Because we are all ready and committed to join him even outside the church. Another laity member, Lady Chigozie Ugwu who claimed that her family was saved from hunger and shame through the intervention of Fr Mbaka wondered whether all those clamouring for the head of Mbaka know the volume of charity works he does daily that is holding millions of life for God, the Church and the faithful by Fr Mbaka. Ugwu who claimed to have attended the new year eve service when the cleric gave his new year message noted that the comments in question has four key dimensions. Number One- message of change. Two-Prayer of commendation of Nigeria to the HAND OF GOD.He quoted the following verses without breathing, where hand of God were mentioned in the Bible-Ps 31:5; Neh 2:8; Neh 1:10; Ezra 7:6; Ezra 8:22; Ps 118:16; Ps 10:12; Ps 114:7; Acts 4:30; Matt 14:30; 1King 8:15; Is 14:27; Is 11:11; Luke 23:46; all these relating to the hand of God. Three: Praise and worship to The Lord. Four: New Year blessings. Why must we then dwell on number One out of the Four and propose sanctions which some Bishops have reportedly already endorsed. Why do we ignore the other messages and hang the man of God for saying the truth. From the profundity of his humble and charitable prophetic courage She noted that “we the Laity are happy with him. We are praying for more Fr Mbakas in the church. We need courageous, charitable, and selfless men of God, like the Moses of old who will tell pharaoh to ‘let my people go’. We need more Elijahs, Elishas, Jremaiahs, etc. we need priests like Christ who will challenge the existential forces with the spirit of God. Remember that in our daily creed, the Church recites the name of Pontus Pilate, “crucified under Pontus Pilate”, yet there was no records to show that sanction was placed for mentioning the name of Potus Pilate who was the president of his time when Christ was crucified. Why then should Fr Mbaka’s case be an exception? And attract an unhealthy political brouhaha? Why are we trying to make mountains from a simple molehill? A stitch in time will save nine. Lets us also consider the words of Prof Chinua Achebe in his popular novel, Things Fall Apart, ‘do not kill the child that calls you Father’. We the Laity jointly pray that God will guide The Church in their decision on issues affecting the universal Church; as Mbaka did not speak on behalf of or attack the Church or it’s hierarchy. Ps 105:15 states that TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED, DO NO HARM TO MY PROPHET |

Past NADECO chiefs are hypocrites -Jonathan JANUARY 12, 2015 BY OLUFEMI ATOYEBI, IBADAN 141 Comments President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday in Ibadan lambasted some former National Democratic Coalition leaders in the South-West, describing them as hypocrites. Speaking at the presidential campaign rally of the Peoples Democratic Party at Mapo Hill, Ibadan, Jonathan, who did not name names, said the actions of some of the active participants could not be justified with what they once professed. The President, who arrived at the venue of the campaign at around 12.50pm after paying homage to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana, had on his entourage the National Chairman of the PDP, Adamu Muazu; members of the National Working Committee of the party; Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko; and members of the National Assembly. Also present were the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh; Director-General of the National Campaign Organisation, Ahmadu Alli; Director, Media and Publicity of the organisation, Femi Fani-Kayode; the party’s governorship candidate in Oyo State, Teslim Folarin; and other party stalwarts. While calling on the South-West leaders to justify their leadership style and love for the people, Jonathan said instead of building prisons for the youths, he would build schools for them. He said, “I did say that the South-West reminds one of the days of National Democratic Coalition. But I am convinced that some of the NADECO actors were hypocrites because they cannot justify what they are doing today. “The South-West believes in human rights and social justice. No South-Westerner will pray that someone, going through proper trial, will be jailed for 300 years and above. If they are not hypocrites, they couldn’t be doing what they are doing today but I don’t want to go into that now. If they are not hypocrites, they will not be talking about not empowering women. “Without education, you cannot change the people. If I did not go to school, I will not be where I am today. Every Nigerian child must have the Goodluck opportunity; that is why we are building out-of- school-children secondary schools and Almajiris schools in some parts of Nigeria. “I will not build prison for you, but I will build schools for you.” On the issue of corruption in government, Jonathan said his administration had tried and jailed many Nigerians but argued that it would not solve the problem. He explained that the problem would be solved through modern technology rather than harsh method. |
I have been having series of Dreams/vision where the presidentail electon was rigged in favour of PDP. In these revelations the unclaimed PVCs were used to rigg in PDP strongholds. Votes were first collated and totaled in APC strongholds before deciding (PDP/INEC) how they (PDP) could inflate their votes, by adding up those unclaimed PVCs as if they all voted for PDP. This was discovered by APC after GEJ has been declared winner by INEC. APC has a lot to do (both in Prayers) and carefully monitor the process in preventing this if it must win the election. Pray For 2015 Election |
My generation has failed — Jonathan “I believe that the young Nigerians are the future, we are finished. We believe that the youths will be the ones that will take us to the moon, my generation has failed because we could not take Nigeria to the moon.” He continued: “I don’t want to address old people like me because we (his generation) are spent already. I am going to dwell on three things because those, who said they are going to take over from the PDP have been telling a lot of lies. They have hired people all over the world and are feeding people with lies on the social media. They are painting all sorts of colours and giving you all sorts of claims that they cannot defend.” He listed the three points as his administration’s attitude towards corruption; alleged weakness of his government and the perceptions of lack of planning. Noting the challenge from Buhari on the administration’s alleged failure to address the insecurity in the land, the President said: “They talked about insecurity. They said they will fight insecurity. And I ask, are our armed forces weak? If we have problems, what is the cause? Equipment. Somebody who told young people that he is going to fight insecurity, ask him if he bought one riffle for Nigerian soldiers when he was the Head of State. These people did not buy anything for the Nigerian soldiers. They refused to equip them. Ask them what they did with their defense budget. “They said my government is corrupt and that we are not fighting corruption. Only yesterday, I addressed anti-corruption agencies and told them that people are deceiving young Nigerians. I said that they must tell Nigerians what they are doing. “We have arrested more people and done more convictions. Let me apologise to some Nigerian federal civil servants who did not receive their December salaries early enough and I will tell you what happened. I apologise to those families that suffered because we believe and I believe that for you to fight corruption, we must take measures. If they had succeeded in fighting corruption, corruption would not have been with us today. If they had set up structures especially with the days of modern science and technology using ICT, to manage resources, we would not have been talking about corruption today. Fight against corruption “What happened in December was because of a software that is used for processing salary packages. Sometimes, people steal through salaries and some federal government agencies, including some ministries try to divert funds to try and pay for some allowances and the system is scientific. It is not a human being. Once money meant to pay salaries is diverted, it shuts you down and those departments of government were shut down. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/01/generation-failed-jonathan/ |
2015: Why Ndigbo’re angry with Jonathan – Uko on january 06, 2015 at 1:30 am in news Facebook Share Twitter Share By Clifford Ndujihe MAJORITY of South-East and Igbo votes may not go to President Goodluck Jonathan in the February 14 presidential polls contrary to expectations unless the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) takes the complaints of the zone seriously, Founder of the Igbo Youth Movement (IYM) and Deputy Secretary of the Igbo Leaders of Thought (ILT), Evangelist Elliot Uko, has said. To make amends and continue to enjoy the support of the Igbo, Uko urged President Jonathan to unveil his plans and blueprint and what he had done for the zone in the last six years. In an interview with Vanguard, Uko said the polls would be fierce but assured that ‘’This time around, Ndigbo will vote right, we have learned painfully over the years that if we vote right, it will be well for everybody. Ndigbo do not want to make mistakes any more.’’ Asked if Ndigbo might abandon Jonathan this time, he said: ”I can’t say that, but I know that Ndigbo are angry with Jonathan. They think he is held hostage by a cabal. They wonder if it makes sense to put Nigeria in the hands of a man who is held prisoner and is easily manipulated by his aides. ” They say his presidency costs Ndigbo a lot as most Nigerians see him as using Ndigbo’s turn, they are also angry with his aides who lie a lot both to Ndigbo and to the man himself. Most of these very respectable individuals and credible groups from the Southeast, tell me they think Jonathan is taking Ndigbo for a ride. The characters who have convinced him that they will deliver Igbo land to him 100 per cent are the ones who might bring him down. While the APC is working hard on the Southeast, the PDP is busy boasting of easy victory. ”This might end up a very tough contest. These Igbo groups who tell me they will not support Jonathan again are not agents of APC, they are traditional Jonathan supporters who feel aggrieved at the way the PDP is behaving. They know Jonathan means well, they know he is a Godly man but they believe he trusts his aides too much and they have blocked him away from reality. ”Whether these accusations are true or not I don’t really know. People are also angry at the stupendous empowerment of ex-militants’ leaders who have all become emergency billionaires, they are all said to be acquiring estates overseas in order to become political god fathers. ”If these allegations are true, then, it is very wrong. Our people are asking, what are the score cards? They are wondering about whatever happened to the promised coal-powered power plants, 2nd Niger bridge, Onitsha sea port, Oguta seaport, Aba inland container terminal, etc. ”E’verybody knows that the 45 million Ndigbo can save him with their bloc votes or bring him down when Igbo votes are split. The clowns who are Jonathan’s arrowhead in Igboland are busy offending everybody by their arrogance which clearly stems from over-confidence while politicians are busy trading off Ndigbo for their personal deals as everybody is positioning for a slice of the cake. All these mean that the PDP must not take Igboland for granted. The election is just six weeks away and there is so much anger. ”Ndigbo want some respect and dignity. The people deceiving Jonathan in Abuja cannot deliver Igboland to him as they claim, they don’t have the credibility to be followed sheepishly, moreover Ndigbo want to see Jonathan’s blue print to move Nigeria forward. People want to know his agenda for the next dispensation.’’ |

APGA favours Buhari to emerge as president JANUARY 5, 2015 BY ENIOLA AKINKUOTU 359 Comments Maj-Gen. Mohammadu Buhari (retd.) The All Progressive Grand Alliance says it cannot throw its weight behind President Goodluck Jonathan as it is very likely that the candidate of the All progressives Congress, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), will emerge the winner of the presidential election next month. The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of APGA, Mr. Campbell Umeh-Nzekwe, who is also a special adviser to the national chairman of the party, said this during an interview with our correspondent, on Sunday. Umeh-Nzekwe said Jonathan’s problem was compounded by the fact that the motion to adopt him as the consensus candidate of the Igbo for the 2015 presidential election failed at the Ime-Obi (inner caucus) meeting of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, on Saturday, in Enugu. He added that the sermon of renowned Enugu-based Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, that Jonathan had failed and should step down seemed to have sent shockwaves across the South-East. He said the party was sure that Jonathan would not win votes in the North. He said, “The game has changed. As it is, Jonathan has no chance of winning. Buhari seems to have taken over. The PDP has collapsed in the North if you care to know. All those who are running to Aso Rock and making promises to the President are just deceiving him.” When asked if APGA would be supporting Buhari next month, Umeh-Nzekwe said he could not say for sure. He said, “Jonathan is a sitting President with incumbency factor in his favour but Buhari has the masses and a cult following in the North. In 2011, Buhari won 12 million votes in the North with his rag- tag party, the Congress for Progressive Change, without a single governor or senator to campaign for him. “Today, his party, the APC, has 14 governors, 43 senators and 176 Reps as well as 625 House of Assembly members. Also, the APC has dominant control of the North-West with a total number of 18.4 million voters and North-East with 10.2 million while South-West has 13.4 million voters “ The PDP has dominant control of the North-Central and Abuja with 10.4 million voters while the South- South has 8.5 million and South-East has 7.2 million votes. “However, no zone has achieved 50 per cent of votes cast but northern voters are more committed and trustworthy than those in the South. “Also, look at Jonathan’s campaign team. He has Col. Ahmadu Ali (retd.) as his Director General and Peter Obi as the deputy while Buhari has Governor Rotimi Amaechi and Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora as director general and deputy respectively. It is time for Ndi Igbo to review their strategy.” |
APC praises Ohanaeze for rejecting Jonathan’s endorsement JANUARY 5, 2015 BY IHUOMA CHIEDOZIE 4 Comments South-East zonal spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress, Osita Okechukwu The All Progressives Congress in the South-East has congratulated Ohanaeze Ndigbo for “shooting down” a motion for the endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan as the candidate of the Igbo in the 2015 presidential election. A statement by the spokesman of the APC in the South-East, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, described those that opposed the motion, which was moved by a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, at the Imeobi (inner caucus) meeting of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo on Saturday, as “true Igbo patriots.” Okechukwu expressed happiness that “Ndigbo have realised that it doesn’t make sense to put all our eggs in one basket, especially when the political scenario in the 2015 presidential election differs remarkably from that of 2011, when Jonathan was endorsed.” He said, “Ohanaeze, by refusing to endorse President Jonathan, has taken a cue from Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka’s New Year sermon at the Adoration Ground, that Nigeria needs a change for the better. “As Mbaka said, ‘I love President Jonathan and I used to be his fan, but I want good for my people and that’s why I want Nigerians to vote out Jonathan and vote Buhari. “If the Hausa have spread their dragnets in both the PDP and the APC and Yoruba have spread their dragnets in both the PDP and the APC, then Ndigbo should not blame anybody for marginalisation in the event of the APC’s victory in the forth coming February 14, 2015 presidential election.” Okechukwu stressed that the APC in the South-East believed that Ohanaeze Ndigbo should remain neutral in the 2015 general elections, as there were Igbo in all the parties. “Igbo are not only in the PDP – we have Igbo sons and daughters in the APC, the main opposition party in the country today. “Our son, Chief Chekwas Okorie, is contesting under the UPP. What happens to him if we endorse Jonathan? “Ohanaeze is a polygamous father; we must spread our dragnets like our contemporaries in the Nigeria project. “Like the Hausa and the Yoruba, we should take the battle to every flank, not just one flank because if we channel all our arsenals to one flank and it goes the other flank at the end of the day, nobody will take us seriously if tomorrow again we start complaining about marginalisation,” he said. |
