Why not get a ELM scanner from Konga and use with your smartphone? Some even sell for N3500 or so. Most codes you are going to get will be generic anyway so if you're on a budget, this will help you.

The very exact description of my own car issue, Volvo s80 2000. Refuses to start, unless I sometimes step on gas. Sometimes it releases bomb sound from exhaust, but outside this it moves very fine. Am already frustrated as I have changed fuel pump, serviced nossle, changed plugs, serviced airflow, sensor, even changed flywheel, all to no avail, all these cost a hell of fortune, they just keep suggesting things, I don vex park d car. Pls any help cos am frustrated. Pks am in delta, any close help.

Does the CEL show? if not you cant scan anything. A similar problem was solved on my moms crv by changing the cold start switch. A scan cost 1k in lagos. Dont let any1 reap u off.

Even if there's no CEL, using fuel trims from livedata one can diagnose a lot. A problem in fuel delivery can be isolated by just fuel trims for example.


@OP Bad fuel can also cause difficult starts. The fuel will fail to atomise well especially in cold weather.

Yes irrespective of if d car is hot or cold plus I changed d cold start switch sometime last month. The problem just stopped 4 abt 4days then reoccurred. It has been like that since last month n it's annoying. Btw the CEL is showing sha. Should I go ahead with d scan?
