Deltamani: What is the Best Formation, Madugu can select against France?
I have a feeling Madugu will elect for a 4-3-3 formation. Barring last minute injuries, I ween our strongest starting 11 is:
Nnadozie
Alozie — Ohale — Demehin — Plumptre Ucheibe
Echegini —- Payne
Nkor —- Onumonu —- Babajide
Substitutes 1• Unachukwu 2• Mgbechi 3• Monday 4• Adoo 5• Imuran 6• Oladipo 7• Isah 8• Omewa
Our Local Coaches play a brand of football built on largely formulaic and predictable individual play coalescing into decent team routines (physical/functional football) rather than a well calibrated, highly refined and supremely coordinated group dynamics leading the charge and devolving into unpredictable movements.
Functional football is easy to the eye and very plain. With players who know what they are doing and are very professional, it can cause problems even the most technical team on the planet.
And Madugu has highly competent players who are well versed in the job description of their roles and can raise their individual performance to make functional football effective. The traditional roles of wingers, midfielders, defenders and centre forwards (the cornerstone of physical/functional football) can be performed with class and effectiveness by most of the players invited.
After following closely the outputs of local coaches particularly in the last 5 years, I have come to perish the expectations of seeing tactical football in play. We simply do not have the infrastructure to produce this sort of football. So, hopefully our local coaches can enhance the possibilities inherent in traditional football of the 1970s 80s/90s and select players capable enough to bring modern interpretations to bear.
So, I am looking to see how things play out. Not much updates about who's in camp, training sessions, likely starting 11, pictures! If na Super Eagles now we would know |

Deltamani: How does the call-up to the Super Falcons of Nigeria work? Is it based on a quota system or do the coaches just pick randomly? Or is it the NFF that recommends players to the coaches? I don't understand how we would have such talented and in-form players in Europe and not give them a chance to prove themselves. With the absence of the dependable Rasheedat Ajibade, names like Esther Okoronkwo, Uchenna Kanu, Macleans Chinonyerem etc., I thought it was best to give a look out for the current most in-form forwards we have in Europe. How can you have talented, fast, and skillful youngsters like this that are hot in the various top leagues in Europe and not give them a look? Nigerian coaches are just so bad at taking advantage of in-form players, Madugu and his Coaching Crew need to do better...
For instance, Joy Ugochukwu Omewa, a 21-year-old CF playing for Fortuna Hjorring Women in Denmark🇩🇰, has played 14 games, scoring 11 goals and 4 assists. She's currently the top scorer in the Danish Elitedivisionen Women. Another example is Edna Imade, a 24-year-old forward playing for Granada CF Women in Spain🇪🇸, who has played 11 games, scoring 7 goals. She's currently the 3rd top scorer in the Spanish Liga F Women.
Name; Joy Ugochukwu Omewa Position; CF Club; Fortuna Hjorring Women, Denmark 🇩🇰 Age: 21yrs (01.12.2002) Current Form; 14games, 11goals and 4 Assists
Note📝; She’s currently the TopScorer in the Danish Elitedivisionen Women.
Name; Edna Imade Position; Forward Club; Granada CF Women, Spain 🇪🇸 Age: 24yrs (05.10.2000) Current Form; 11games, 7goals
Note📝; She’s currently the 3rd TopScorer in the Spainish Liga F Women. There's no selection that any coach will make that everyone can be pleased 100%. Agenda must agenda Buts jokes aside I do understand that better scouting can be done, and more merit involved (less emotions ...selecting based on relationships or possible financial gain). |

Samueltemi337: Starting XI according to owngoalnigeria
Maduka Okoye Osayi-Samuel Bruno Onyemaechi William Troost-Ekong Gabriel Osho Frank Onyeka Fisayo Dele-Bashiru Alhassan Yusuf Moses Simon Kelechi Iheanacho Victor Boniface
I like the midfield And that Osho is starting again But Chukwueze should have started instead of Iheanacho And I have a feeling that Boniface will get his first goal for the Super Eagles today No taste of action yet for Sadiq Umar, Chukwueze and Collins the Local based Guy. But it's all good if true. |

Congratulations are in order. She will join Deborah Ajibola Abiodun and Celine Ottah at Pittsburgh. She's friends with Deborah Abiodun. But I can't recall her being in any of the 2022 or 2024 U17 or U20 sets. https://www.instagram.com/p/CNjv8nWhhCB/?img_index=5Good luck to her. Congrats! |

jihday: while we always struggle to kill off our own opponents in qualifiers but when tournaments start we’ll somehow drag ourself to the final four And what's wrong with the question? Perfectly normal. If it's an opinion that you believe is false, you simply debunk it. If true, explain why and possibly proffer solutions to fix it. |

TheSuperNerd: Better than meeting AS FAR so soon. Mazembe are good (not stronger than Sundowns) but I think Edo can get the job done. Clinicality will be their only problem vs Mazembe. If they can finish, then Mazembe is finished. I like that the 2 North African Teams are meeting each other. No inferiority complex, which us Black Africans tend to have. Plus they can use their North African times wasting and aggressive wayo and cancel each other out. Let me go and look at TP Mazembe match highlights |

TheSuperNerd: How you can miss it twice on two threads (Super Eagles and Super Falcons) in the same day is amazing
How far naa? Lols, didn't watch the first match. But I watched Edo Queens against FC Masar. Their performance there, especially when you also look at how our U17 and U20 Teams went out in this year's WorldCup, was justifiable reasons to write them off. But they served me humble pie and i'm happy eating it. The Super Eagles have already qualified. For Team cohesion it's only fair you also give the unused guys time on the pitch. Eguavoen is a reasonable fellow. I trust everyone will get some minutes. |

Deltamani: Yeah… the main team should prosecute the game for sure but again some of the top talents in Midfield might not be available the likes of Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe and Onyi Echegini… Deborah Abiodun have the NCAA Tournament on ground that’s if they get to the quarterfinals 29/30 of November.. Ok great. NFF dey cut cost against Algeria be that, knowing it would be a routine win. But those 2 overweight Goal keepers, backups to Nnadozie? Will they still likely be around for much longer or retire soon? Justin Magudu should look towards Faith Omilana and Linda Jiwuaku biko. |
