You're right about the problem on tecno ..
Tecno has had plenty issues on their phone software .
I had to build my own rom some years ago before I could enjoy a borrowed tecno.
It's a software permission thingy from the stk application (the sim tool kit aka magic plus underlay) and affects some MTK phones as well.
It's not under glo's control but results from poor software build issues

But it doesn't happen on other networks on the same phone. Only with Glo.Glo turns on gps automatically

When someone posted about glo's slow network and included the battery draining issue of automatically turning on gps, some laughed it off. But I can authoritatively say that it is true. I've checked about 3 different Tecno H5 phones where Mtn and Etisalat 3G network works on without issues. But with Glo, despite all settings, once your data is turned on or you answer a call,GPS comes on in less than 2 minutes.

This is a great battery drainer. There are already threads where people complained of the issues. Some have had to reset and root their phones to avoid this, but it keep happening. I've reached out to glo via Twitter some months back about this, but they seem clueless.

Technically oriented guys here can look out for people with similar issues to verify. Glo may not need your location data, but there is definitely an unidentified glitch in their network that is causing this.

Worst is that glo won't look into this with a single post, but if everyone concerned complains, and this fact is verified by many others, this issue could be looked into.

Google Glo sim turns on GPS if in doubt. If you have similar issue, please talk about your battery draining experience. If you haven't experienced the issue but believe a setting is causing it, find a Tecno H5 phone or other affected phones and configure it. Test it by browsing or making a call. After 2 min, post your experience.

Op, by now you should know that isp performance is based on location.

Also, it's impossible for Glo or any other network to turn on your phones GPS.
Check your phone settings, or maybe you installed a rogue app.

Let me help you with this..

The reason why the GPS turn on when the data is turned on is because your GPS settings is in high accuracy which makes your phone use Assisted GPS (gps with data )

If you don't want the GPS ,turn of both the GPS service And location based service.

Glo or any other provider doesnt need your GPS for anything .they already track you via triangulation from their base stations.

Bro, go and find Tecno H5 and see what happens. OP is right. After all settings, it comes back on after just 2min

It doesn't happen with your phone. But it happens with several phones. Try Tecno H5 and see the magic happen. Glo can't even fix this because it has been proven several times with many phones. Verify before speaking with authority next time. A simple Google search of glo turns on my gps will help.

I know banks pay lower but trust me, many businesses will earn you 100% in less than 18 months.... Just my thought cos u asked for contributions too. Since you need investors and not helpers, you may need to do something attractive like saying they will own a specific even if it is 0.1% of business for life.... etc

Always try and leave the amount of airtime required to renew your subscription so that any unused data will be pushed over to the next subscription, and prevent being wasted when they expire.

2. Upload And Backup Photos & Files On The Cloud

We are in an age where information and data have become so digitized that even losing a phone is less important than the data that has been lost with it. In essence, some people tend to value the data in their phones, tablets and laptops, than the device themselves. There is something about Enugu that makes anyone who has stayed in the state for up to a year wanna return again. The city is liberal, no fanaticisms about any issues from religion to culture to politics. Enugu is also a peaceful place with lots of good suburbs, but there are also peaceful ghettos - Phyno will tell you. Also, Enugu has the prettiest ladies. Enugu wins abeg, plus night life there is New York standard.
