You are absolutely wrong, most tribes would like you to go but the issue is that you can't go alone, you are trying to take the oil producing tribes of the South South with you.
For your information, nobody is comfortable with Igbo people, the issue is that because you are landlocked and have no natural resources you want to take others.
Please Igbos go,we don't want you.

Politics › Re: Igbo Scare: Southern Cameroon Hate For The Igbo Led To Secession From Nigeria by Ekpeitit(m): 2:55pm On Jun 03, 2019
AsiwajuNdigbo:
Igbo Scare: Southern Cameroon Hate For The Igbo Led To Secession From Nigeria In 1961 |RN

THE so-called Igbo “scare” in the British Cameroons between 1945 and 1961 allegedly led the southern part of the British mandate to opt to leave the federation of Nigeria on the 11th of February 1961. The fear of Igbo domination in all the sectors of social and political life in the former German and British territory was given as a major factor. Kumba, Mamfe, Bamenda, Tiko and Victoria had a large number of NdiIgbo who dominated the economy. This led to local resentments, which politicians like Dr E.M.L.Endeley, Chief Manga Williams and J.N.Foncha exploited for selfish interests.

Stereotyping the Igbo did not change the natural disposition of the latter to hard work, aggressiveness, showiness and ethnic pride—all of which may be interpreted as the Igbo hubris, which in literary parlance is a tragic flaw. Yet local resentment did not stop Igbo migration to Cameroons. The Igbo helped to build the Nigerian-Cameroonian Highway. They became petty and full time traders, engaged in farming, sometimes dispossessing original land owners of their lands through legitimate purchases, and held sway in the plantations.

Because of their education, NdiIgbo became dominant in government services and commerce, especially with the departure of the Germans in 1939. Menial jobs were the reserve of the less educated Cameroonians. There were monopolies like the United African Company and John Holt, all owned by the British. Yet the Igbo, not the British, were accused of marginalizing the Cameroonians.

The Igbo, they cried out, controlled the local administration and made it impossible for locals to occupy high government posts. They had a point but the Igbo did not ask them to be laid back and not to go to school. A British Resident administrative officer in Cameroon also accused the Igbo of injustice and, in his own words, as behaving as” if they were a law unto themselves and not wont to recognize ‘local authority”(See Resident, Cameroon Province, Buea, to Secretary, Eastern Provinces, Enugu, 29 June, 1948).

Such reports did not reduce tension; rather the emerging Cameroonian business and political elite fuelled it to advance their political agitations and encouraged many other unproven allegations against the Igbo. Unsubstantiated Igbo misdemeanor, too numerous to bother the reader with here, occupied the social and political space in the late 1940 Southern Cameroons. The Buea Native Authority demanded the expulsion of the Igbo in 1948 accusing them of dominating the plantations, especially. Earlier, the Bakweri Native Authority had specifically issued the following orders:

1. Nobody is allowed to sell his or her house to an Ibo; neither must anybody give his or her house for rentage to an Ibo.
2. No farmland must be sold to an Ibo or rented to an Ibo
3. Nobody must allow an Ibo to enter any native farm or forest for purpose of finding sticks for building or for any other purpose.
4. House or farm already sold to any Ibo man shall be purchased by native Authority who will afterwards resell same to some suitable person.
5. Nobody shall trade with Ibos for anything of value or not.
6. All landlords must ask their Igbo tenants to quit before 15 March 1948.
7. No Cameroon woman is allowed to communicate with the Igbos in any form
8. Anybody disobeying those rules shall be liable to a fine of £5 or five months imprisonment.
9. Any Ibo native disobeying Rule (3) above will be liable to prosecuting in the Native Court.
10. All Ibo Government officials are exempted from Rule (5) above.
(Cf: Bakweri, N.A. Buea to Senior D.O, Victoria, 21 Feb.1948.).

It is believed that Chief Manga Williams and Dr Endeley, two parliamentarians in the Eastern House of Assembly, were behind these anti Igbo laws.
We have seen similar sentiments directed against the Igbo in Nigeria, in colonial and postcolonial times, since NdiIgbo began their endless adventure outside Igbo hearth and heartland. It is also to say that quit notices against Ndibanyi did not start today. Hate speech and hate literature did not start with Nigerians. As we write English speaking Southern Cameroon is directing its angst against Yaoundé and the minders of power in their capital city. The same Cameroonians are also terrorizing Bakasians. They were in hearty collaboration with Nigerians during the civil war and were rewarded with a good chunk of Biafra land and its mineral deposits.

The aggravations Ndibanyi receive from our neighbours and hosts require a different and more robust approach than what is available now. It requires a vision with a homeland ideology, to show we have a home that is prosperous and could be second to none in the world. Is history a farce? Is the Cameroonian narrative a matter of marrying two husbands and knowing which is better? After demonizing the Igbo and seceding from Nigeria to join their supposed kit and kin in French ruled Cameroons, in 1960, the battle cry has changed. South Cameroons is clamouring for another secession. A case of the other perceived as the evil? The Devil now is not the Igbo, but Biya and his fellow Fulani.
Of course there are many possible readings of this story plot.

Contextually, it is all about the quest for self-apprehension. I am however, interested as a social historian, in what our people can learn from our sublime encounters with history whose outcome need not be quixotic or Sisyphean. A laundry list of anti Igbo prescriptions such as the above should provoke deep reflection on our part, especially in the context of our recent experiences from our country men in the northern and western parts of the country which reveal a deep rooted resentment against Ndibanyi.

Certainly, there is an Igbo complex just as there is the Igbo Question in Nigeria. Both need resolution. Said the Hon Nnamdi Azikiwe in 1949 while addressing NdiIgbo in Aba:
It would appear that God has specifically created the Igbo people to suffer persecution and bear victimization because of their resolve to live. Since suffering is the label of our tribe we can afford to be sacrificed for the ultimate redemption of the children of Africa”.
Is Zik’s position anachronistic or is it messianic? Can we deny our Igboness? Does being cosmopolitan mean abandoning our homeland? There is a man in the Igbo, which must be saved for the sake of humanism.

Causal factors have been important in determining Igbo journey in the pluriverse and that journey has been dramatic. Can we, NdiIgbo, control the natural instincts and impulses, which drive our relationship with our environments and social political spaces? Should there be a change in our foundational approaches and rethink strategies in our efforts at self and group fulfillment, a rethink of our approaches to constitutive freedoms? I am calling for a consequential reasoning and re-examination or even prioritization of our freedom rights, especially when our libertarian rights seem and are violated?

I am also calling on Attorney Chris Aniedobe and Dr Okenwa Nwosu to do a distillation of all the currents of ideas through our contributions on this forum and publish it timeously—a humongous task indeed— but not an impossible one. It would be a worthy and ageless contribution to Igbo phenomenology and scholarship, subjects of our direct experiences—one from which future generations will gain a lot—a tribute to all who believe in the relevance of communal enquiry, valent episteme and solid good ideas. I am just thinking aloud.

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Olajide Olatubosun (APC-Oyo), has again vowed that nothing will make him step down for the leading contender for the House and anointed candidate of APC, Hon. FemiGbajabiamila.

Although his party has publicly endorsed Gbajabiamila, a Lagos lawmaker, for the position, Olatubosun vowed not to step down from the race.

Briefing journalists in Abuja yesterday, he said that he would fight against imposition with the last drop of his blood.

The APC has zoned the office of the Speaker to the South-west and endorsed Gbajabiamila for the office.

Olatubosun said that section 50 sub-section 1b of the 1999 Constitution as amended states that members shall elect from among themselves any member with legislative experience to become speaker.

He said the APC’s endorsement of Gbajabiamila was illegal.

“I’m a party man only to the extent that the decisions of the party conform with the constitution,” he said.

He said that the doctrine of separation of power states that there are three arms of government with separate functions and responsibilities.

The lawmaker explained that the different arms of government should cooperate with one another without compromising the principle of checks and balances.

“The executive is not superior to the legislature, no. Unfortunately, because of our long years of military rule, the legislative arm has been bastardised so much.

Igbos Seek National Equity As Group Insist Speaker Of The House Must Be From South East Region (photos)

A group called "SouthEast Concerned Youths" have intensified their advocacy on the Constitutional considerations of Federal Character in the 9th National Assembly, seeking that the SouthEast region must produce the next Speaker of Federal House of Representatives.

The group made this call during a press briefing in Abuja, which was accompanied by a peaceful protest at the headquarters of All Progressive Congress. In their plights the requested that the 2nd term leadership of All Progressive Congress must accommodate and give a sense of belonging to every region in the country so as to establish a balance in our national polity.

According to Mr. Ogubuike Comrade Chinedu, the national Coordinator who briefed the press and led the 31st May protest, he noted that there is need for the All Progressive Congress to revisit it's zoning arrangement on the leadership of the 9th Assembly.

In his well articulated analysis, he noted that with President Buhari from the North West, VP Osinbajo from the South West, Senate president most from the North East, Deputy Senate President from the Southsouth, it will be fair, equitable and just to allow the SouthEast region produce the Speaker of the house.

While commending the efforts of the APC led administration, Ogubuike noted that there has been a marginalization of the Igbos, especially in holding strategic public offices, but the error could be addressed if the Speaker comes from the southeast. He therefore called on contenders from other regions to step down in the interest of the country, because the Southeast region has the strongest, acceptable and most genuine case at this point in time.

However, conference and protest at APC Headquarters in wuse 2, Abuja was held and led by the key officers of South East Concerned Youths, which includes Barr. Ike Eze, National Secretary, Chukwu Kelechi Kingsley, State Coordinator (Imo), Ejelonu Chukwudi Obi, State Secretary (Imo), Uzoebu Chinedu , State Cordinator (Abia), Egeruo Charles, State Secretary (Abia), Chukwungere Ifeanyi, State Coordinator (Enugu), Ogbenna Kyrian Ikechukwu, State Secretary (Enugu), Dr. Ogemdi Aneke, State Coordinator (Ebonyi), Eze Francis, State Secretary (Ebonyi), George Uche, State Coordinator (Anambra), Ms Ada Okeke, State Secretary (Anambra).

The protest witnessed a massive turnout of young men, women and youths holding placards and banners with inscriptions like, "Let's have a Nigeria of Equity", "Southeast for Speaker", "I am for Nobody, I am for everybody", "let's not sacrifice equity for injustice" and other very catchy notifications.

All efforts to speak with chairman was proved abortive, but agents in the party have promised that their significant plights will be resolved and immediate attention will be attributed.

Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha has denied ordering the ongoing demolition of one of the Akachi towers, one of the monuments erected by his predecessor.

The demolition is coming barely 24 hours after Ihedioha assumed office.

Scores of Imo indigenes have condemned the action, stating the monument was constructed with public funds and should not be pulled down to spite the former administration.

Ihedioha was sworn-in as the sixth Executive governor of the state on Wednesday.

The Akachi tower, one of the many tourist attractions built by the former governor is being demolished as at the time of filing this report.

It was built on a reclaimed dumpsite that was abandoned by previous administrations.

The demolition exercise was supervised by soldiers who barred journalists from covering the exercise.

The Akachi monument was one of the structures commissioned by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo barely one week ago.

The monument, a massive tower with the symbol of a hand on the Zenith, representing the hand of God, sits on an expansive plot of land, reserved for religious purposes.

There are fears Ihedioha will also demolish other monuments in Owerri, the state capital, especially the famous statues.

But the governor denied ordering the demolition.

His Special Adviser, Steve Osuji, said the governor is not aware of the demolition of any structure and never gave such directive.

According to him, the new governor is in the Government House trying to settle down in his office.

Politics › Re: No Yoruba President In Nigeria For Another 20 Years by Ekpeitit(m): 12:37am On May 29, 2019
matify83:
If Nigeria were to survive the ticking time bomb of the rigged 2019 presidential election, one of the prerequisites would be that there cannot be a Yoruba president in the country for at least another 20 years. Otherwise, we would be further stoking the flames of disintegration. The Yoruba have provided the president in 8 of the last 20 years. They have also held the vice-presidency for another 4 years. That will do for the next 20 years.

Our country is the Federal Republic of Nigeria and not Oduduwa Republic of Nigeria. Neither is it the Federal Republic of the Hausa-Fulani and the Yoruba. Nigeria is bigger than the North-west and the South-west, no matter what the bogus population figures used for elections in these geopolitical regions indicate. Therefore, the choice of president cannot be reduced to a ding-dong between them.

Ethnic jingoism

During the 2019 election campaign, Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo tried to seduce Yoruba votes for Buhari on the promise that their vote for him would be rewarded with the presidency in 2023. Since the election, a bogus group calling itself the Afenifere Renewal Group has also come out to say the Yoruba will produce the next president in 2023.

We have also witnessed already a lot of jockeying by self-styled Yoruba presidents-in-waiting for strategic positioning vis-à-vis the 2023 presidential election.

This is the height of deceit and irresponsibility.

What, if I may ask, did the Yoruba man-in-the-street get for having Obasanjo as president for 8 years? The answer is nothing: Zilch! Nada! Niente!

The people who are already projecting a Yoruba president in Nigeria for 2023 are charlatans. They are up to no good and only hankering after juicy appointments for themselves or their godfathers, the better to rob the country blind. Believe me, they could not care less about the Yoruba.

Ask the Almajiri in the North what they have benefitted from the last 4 years of Buhari’s presidency. If they are sincere, they will tell you it is also zilch, nada, niente!

Moreover, I don’t remember Nigeria passing a constitutional amendment now zoning the presidency exclusively to the North-west and the South-west. These irresponsible people don’t mean Nigeria well. Their ethnic jingoism, greed and selfishness is part of what is killing Nigeria today.

Turn of Ndigbo

The democratic experiment has been ongoing now in this fourth republic in Nigeria for 20 years since 1999. In that period, the Yoruba have provided the president for 8 years and the vice-president for 4 years. In the unlikely event that the doctored results of the 2019 election are confirmed by the courts, by 2023, a Yoruba vice-president would have been in power for 8 years.

Therefore, it is preposterous to still insist that the same Yoruba should simply transition from vice-president to president in 2023. What then is to happen to the other ethnic groups in Southern Nigeria? When did they become consigned to be only the hewers of wood and drawers of water for the Yoruba?

The Igbo, one of the three major tribes in Nigeria, have provided neither president nor vice-president in the Fourth Republic. An Igbo man has only ever been head of state in Nigeria for merely six months, after which he was assassinated with extreme prejudice. Nigeria then fought a civil war for 3 years during which the Igbo made an unsuccessful attempt to secede. In that calamity, over a million Igbo were slaughtered and killed.

Accordingly, even the blind must know that it is in the interest of national unity and cohesion for the presidency to go to the Igbo in 2023, after a denial of over 50 years. In the intervening period, the other two major ethnic groups of the Hausa-Fulani and the Yoruba have had their share.

If federal character is an indelible principle of the Nigerian Constitution, that principle must also find expression at the presidential level. If it does not, it is tantamount to consigning the Igbo to the status of second-class

That is why the statements already making the rounds about a Yoruba president in 2023 needs to be stopped immediately before even the mere expression does irreparable damage to the fragile Nigerian psyche.

Rotational presidency

There is an unwritten understanding in this fourth Nigerian republic that the presidency should rotate between North and South. We started with Obasanjo, a Yoruba man from the South in 1999. That election was a straight contest between two Yoruba candidates; Obasanjo and Olu Falae. Obasanjo won that election and was president for 8 years.

Thereafter, it was the turn of the North and the 2007 election was essentially a Northern affair. Yar’adua ran primarily against Buhari and Atiku. He won but, unfortunately, he died in office after barely 2 years. Goodluck Jonathan, his vice-president, then became president. However, he was from the South, so there was hue and cry in the North that he had usurped the Northern slot deemed to be for 8 years.

Jonathan served for two years and was elected for another four years. Thereafter, the North cried enough and Buhari was elected to replace him.

The just-concluded 2019 election was also essentially a contest between two Northerners from the two major parties of the APC and the PDP: Buhari and Atiku. Whatever the conclusion of the tribunal about the fraudulent nature of that election, a Northerner would nevertheless have served as president for 8 years by 2023.

This means it will be the turn of a Southerner to be president again in 2023. That Southerner must, without controversy, be an Igbo man. Any right-thinking Nigerian must see that it is not only high time for this to happen, it is essential for our national integration. It will also signal to all intents and purposes that, after 50 years, the civil war is finally truly over.

So this is my reasoning. Before it can be the turn of a Yoruba man again, 20 years should elapse. This is the breakdown: 2015-2023: Northern president. 2023-2031: Igbo president. 2031-2038: Northern president. That is 20 years before you can get another Yoruba president from the South.

Even then, there is no guarantee that the 2038 president should be a Yoruba man. There are other tribes in the South that can also come into contention in that year. So, in the interest of national unity, 2023 is out of the question for the Yoruba.

Party of enemies

Even though we have yet to completely settle the matter of the 2019 presidency, the struggle for 2023 is already tearing the APC apart. The party is not and has never been cohesive. It is a collection of strange bedfellows who came together for the sole purpose of wresting the presidency from the PDP in 2015. Having done that, the party has been undergoing internal combustion; with its members have been at daggers-drawn ever since.

The only glue still holding APC together is the fact that the current president is from the party. Once Buhari goes, whether now or in 2023, that would be the end of APC. Already, the nPDP component of Atiku, Saraki and Tambuwaal have returned to the PDP. The ACN component, under the leadership of Bola Tinubu, is now at loggerheads with the North-west redoubt, now spearheaded by Nasir el-Rufai.

Everybody knows that the fight for speaker and president of the Senate is a fight for the soul of the APC with an eye to 2023. But the Yoruba are using the excuse that the Igbo did not vote for Buhari and the APC in 2019 to lay claim for the presidency again in 2023. The assumption, of course, is that whoever secures the APC presidential ticket in 2023 is a shoo-in for the presidency, after all, the election can always be rigged again as it was in 2019.

As a matter of fact, the Tinubu-led Yoruba faction in the APC is not only insisting on the 2023 presidency, it is also laying claim now to the Speaker of the House of Representatives in 2019. This greed is so way out of control that Tinubu’s wife in the Senate also has her eyes firmly trained on the post of the Deputy Senate President.

The long and short of this inordinate ethnic monopolistic ambitions is the belief in some quarters that, because of current APC political supremacy, which is actally the result of outright fraud, Nigeria now belongs to the Hausa-Fulani and the Yoruba and no one else. The rest of the people in the country are simply their political subalterns or houseboys. They are only useful at presidential election time to make up the number. Thereafter, they go off the political radar.

The question needs to be asked: are the Igbo Nigerians or are they not? If the answer is yes, as it must be, then we need to ask further: are the Igbo never to be president in Nigeria? 2023 is the year to answer this question once and for all. It is the year when it is so obviously the turn of Ndigbo. The Hausa-Fulani have had more than their fair share. The Yoruba have had their turn. Ditto for the Niger Delta. What excuse then can there be for denying the Igbo their turn in 2023? Only nonsensical and self-serving ones

Death of the godfathers

Those who insist there is some agreement between Buhari and Tinubu that will propel Tinubu to the presidency in 2023 must be dreaming. Just ask El-Rufai. He will tell you Nigerians will never accept Tinubu as national godfather or president. The template he has used to hold Lagos to ransom cannot be duplicated elsewhere, not even in the South-west.

Tinubu could only hold on to Lagos for Buhari in 2019 by mobilising bullion vans. APC resorted to bribing voters with trailers filled with rice and garri, snatching ballot boxes in Igbo-dominated areas and suppressing opposition votes. If Tinubu can no longer hold the South-west without these shenanigans, he does not have a hope in hell in the rest of Nigeria come 2023.

The riggers of the 2019 election not only rigged out Atiku; they also rigged out the Southern politicians in the APC. They made sure Osinbajo lost his polling unit in Lagos. They ensured Fashola lost his local government. They double-dealed Akpabio by not rigging the election in his favour in Akwa Ibom. They buried Adams Oshiomhole in Edo. They refused to give a certificate of return to Okorocha in Imo. They could not help Rotimi Amaechi secure Rivers for the APC.

In effect, all the APC iroko trees in the South have been cut down. They no longer have to be seriously reckoned with.

Samakus:
As Governor Rochas Okorocha gives way tomorrow as the Governor of Imo State, the big question is..who will become the new Statue Moulder-In-Chief.?

Renowned for his tact in statue moulding, Governor Okorocha allegedly became somewhat, a caricature figure due to his never ending quest to erect statues of major political figures in the world. At a time, it was alleged that the cost of erecting those statues has been in the upwards of 500m naira.

Won't political figures miss the man who created record in moulding the statues of more than 15 political figures in his native Imo State, with the last statue being that of President Muhammadu Buhari?

Are you going to miss the inventor of iberierism himself? Let's talk

I think you are indirectly suggesting that APC members are stupid to welcome someone who did not contribute to their success into their party and give him an appointment.
See why we all say you Igbos don't understand politics?
You support the wrong candidate then after losing the election you want an appointment, only an Igbo man has that kind of stupid sense of entitlement.

DSP Ekweremadu Might be on his way to APC.

Politics of Interest

I would seek to start this piece with two age long traditional saying and then take time to dissect.

First.

Politics is a game of Interest.
Like the saying goes, In Politics there are no permanent friends nor permanent foes but permanent Interest and All politics is local.

Second.

A picture they say speaks more than a thousand words.
As you pose for picture na so you go carry show.

From the picture attached, Deputy Senate president Ekweremadu seemed to be very at ease and felt so at home.

Of course Senator Ita Enag is Presidential adviser to the National Assembly and has been around the corridors of power for a long time now, he sure would know how to smoothen out rough edges especially politically.

If truthfully politics is only about permanent interest, Then there is reason to question where the DSP's interest would fall going further after inauguration.

First lets flash our minds back few months before the general elections.. How did PDP treat DSP Ekweremadu.

In the build up to the General Elections when PDP choose Peter Obi as Atiku's running mate, There were speculations that the camp of the DSP had complained about improper consultations and hence the choice of Peter Obi didn't sit well with Ekweremadu.

To further add salt to Injury PDP lost the Presidential elections, Worse still Ekweremadu's Boss, Bukola Saraki wont be coming back courtesy of the "O to gee" movement from the people of his home Kwara state.

These are the permutations, such a high calibre Senator as DSP Ekweremadu just can not be relegated to the floor as an ordinary member to warm seats for New senators.

DSP Ekweremadu being a seasoned politician knows his onus and sure can play his cards when he has to and keep them to his chest when he has to.

The writtings on the wall might suggest the DSP hobnobbing and prolificing with the idea of cross carpeting to the Ruling All Progressive Congress. After all, who no like better thing.

Would you rather have him left in the cold without Saraki? Or would he cut a deal and switch allegience?

After all, All Politics are local.

Ekweremadu might just be on his way to APC..

Only time would tell.

This post shows how narrow minded you are, what's your business with Osho's wife?
For your information they owe you nothing no matter what you think of their marriage.
Do we know your wife?
Go and worry about your own miserable life and leave the couple in peace.

Where is the amiable wife of Adams Oshiomhole? This is the question currently dominating the lips of most Nigerians who have enquired to no avail, as to the whereabouts of Lara Fortes Oshiomhole, whose gorgeous personality overwhelmed the former Edo State Governor.

According to Media Issues findings, the questions are elicited by the long absence of Lara from the public space, particularly, the media which has celebrated her beauty and allure, drawing so much attention to the couple.

What could have made Lara to recede into oblivion? Even at the height of the political campaigns with all its rigours in Edo State and at the National level, she was always by the side of her husband, weathering the political storms together.

Now that the storm is over and victory in their possession, this is the time she is supposed to be making public appearances alongside her husband under a more serene atmosphere, but only the husband, Adams Oshiomhole, is seen at public events singly. Why the sudden disappearance?

The absence of the Cape Verde born Lara who was a former employee of Emirates Airlines from the public space is fuelling so much speculation on whether her four years old marriage, with age differentials of over 30 years with her spouse, is still in intact.

There have also been rumours that the marriage which was consummated on the 15th of May, 2015 at Auchi, Edo State, has been dissolved, while others believe she is pregnant, and was avoiding public attention for the period of anti and post natal exercise.

The marriage of Lara to Oshiomhole which was chaired by former Head of State, Yakubu, attracted so many dignitaries, including the big wigs in the Nigerian political landscape, particularly, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It is high time the National Chairman of the APC spoke to avoid unhealthy speculation. To be a celebrity is not cheap. There is a price that goes with it. As celebrity, if you do not find the public, the public will find you.

The initial stage of the marriage enjoyed media exposure that followed with glamour and glitz. Her fans cannot afford to be thrown into the dark as to the goings-on with the beautiful one from the Cape Verde Islands.

Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, please speak up.
