I read some comments on instagram.. that sleeping on your back isn't advisable for pregnant women. that it can cause their baby to have crossed eye. is it true? I hope it's a lie..
Lol @ crossed eye, i didnt have a particular sleeping position while i was preggy. I slept all on all sides but my body would tell if a certain position was not comfy, so i would just change.

My son can't sleep on any other position aside his tummy since he clocked 5weeks, so I make sure the blanket is thickly folded in his bed so he wouldn't drag it to cover his nose as that is the sole cause of the SIDS.
Besides if he can turn his head well so he can quickly adjust if he isn't getting enough air, he is gud to sleep on his tummy.
Ok, u raised a good point tho. Thanks

Testimony Time grin
So after mamas chuk mouth on my ds navel issue, d remaining cord finally fell off and it is closing up now. Thank you all for the contributions and a special thanks to ma'm crystalzoe for that salt treatment tip.
Also, he is no longer throwing up after every feed and even when he spits out its just in little quantity which happens like once/twice a day.
Thanks mamas for coming through kiss

New born baby can hardly move their heads, in the process of turning the head, the baby might put his nose on the pillow or mattress and this can cause suffocation leading to Sudden death. God forbid.
Oho this actually makes sense now, i notice my ds moves his head sometimes and when he puts his nose on the pillow, he struggles to get it out but still ends up turning totally. Better to just use a safe sleeping position jare. Thank you

it increases the risk of SIDS - sudden infant death syndrome
Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is the unexplained death, usually during sleep, of a seemingly healthy baby less than a year old.
shocked shocked Holy Moly. Didnt know of this until now and i just had to go read up on it. Twas a nurse that told me to place him on his tummy so he could sleep for long and i dont even know if it works cuz he still wakes up like after every 3 hours. Stopping this tummy sleeping right away, better to be safe than sorry. Wheeew

Hello Eksbabe,
let me add mouth for the burping matter; what makes my DS to throw up while burping on my shoulder is when his tummy presses hard on my body. I think the there's a technique to the way they are placed on the shoulder.
These days, I don't even bother with burping. he does it by himself. He's 4months now.
Ok ma'm thanks for adding mouth also, will look out for that

You place him on your shoulder after each feed? my sister that's why the throw up is regular. you don't burp a baby on your shoulder. My son usually throws up if he gets fussy during feeding and I place him on my shoulders. Now if I carry him on the shoulder and he belch, I will quickly carry him well else he will throw up.
Hello Benny, how do you then burp Zizi? Happy Sunday to you

try burping between feeds don't wait till he finishes eating. Also keep him upright for a while whenever he eats. It's reflux and very common in kids
How do i burp him while feeding, cuz i place him on my shoulder to burp.

The quantity of the throw up is it much?

if it isn't, burb him after feed and don't carry him up nor lay him down quickly, so long as he is gaining weight (in your eyes) nothing to worry.
Since he started throwing up i just feel like he hasnt been gaining weight, dont know if i'm being paranoid.
We are going to the hospital,he just threw up all he had after burping. I'm just so sad right now and hope all is well with him cry

I think u should try burping him after feeding...that is sit him on ur lap in angle 90 and tilt his head forward slightly with one hand on his chest and the other hand rubbing or tapping his back gently until he belch...try to google how to burp a baby and get a better explanation..

Other maamas will provide more solutions
I do that regularly, but he still throws up like after every feeding sad cry

Lol@serious disease
It's nothing serious just that the cord didn't fall of completely
Its not really known y it happens to some babies but its quite common
Another option is silver nitrate but it has to be applied by a doc.
I was more sceptical than u oh but very desperate lo was getting to two months and was on my third bottle of spirit. I just prayed n boughta fresh sachet of salt applied that morning briefly then wiped it off it didnt even sting as I tot repeated it in d evening by night it had dried up and by d following morning d navel had closed up completely.
Google
Thanks alot for this, so it's the cord that didnt fall off completely and i thought it was a growth. Wheeeew, thank God i asked oo. Will try the salt remedy.
