Its called umbilical cord granuloma. U can Google it. Just apply clean table salt a pinch on it for a few minutes after his bath then wipe off repeat in
d evening before d end of the second day it shld be off.

While i was checking for what the navel should look like after the cord falls off, i came across this umbilical cord granuloma and the name alone scared me sef cuz it sounded like one serious disease. Was just hoping it wasnt it. Thanks for the reassurance. I hope the salt treatment has no side effects to it?

Continue cleaning with spirit
I was instructed to clean every 2 hours when I gave birth to my son. So you may want to try that

Ok, Should have just stuck to the old way of cleaning it i.e with spirit as often as possible but i was told with the Chlorxy-gel i only needed to clean once. I'll continue with the spirit now sha, thank you.

What have you been using on it? This is what happens when the cord is forced to fall if menthylated spirit is not used. But if dats not the case,pls continue to use ONLY menthylated spirit.

I got Chlorxy-gel from the hospital that was prescribed by the doctor to be used once daily after cleaning with methylated spirit and thats all i have been using.

please apply spirit at interval of 1hr that's what happens wen d cord falls off too soon or probably u didn't apply spirit religiously before it fell off. Pls don't expose to air and don't apply anything other Dan spirit

Hey momma, From your description, I think a ring was installed, the thread is used to tie the glass ring(I don't know why they do that). Vaseline is solid, so you use liquid so you can pour, all you needed was coconut oil and penicillin ointment mixed together and applied every 2 hrs, that was what I did and the ring came off on the fifth day, when the ring comes off, you will see whitish stuff around the cap , don't panic, just keep applying the penicillin and that too will clear off, you can try that till you go back to the hospital.

Just to add, doc said not to apply anything on it until the ring falls off. It fell off on the 4th day and i have since been using penicillin whenever i change his diaper and it's been healing well.

I have a question pls, my tummy has dropped back to my pre-pregnancy state and so has my arse also. I had a moderate sized arse before preggy and i'm shocked at how much it has reduced after birth. Did anyone experience this and what may be the cause? I am serious pls, not a joking sturvs. Thank you

Team September hope we are preparing. Went shopping today on Lagos island. Little me is the shop oh! But dey ran out of stuff and i had to buy from market peeps. The difference is clear. I bot eurosonic flask. 5k for 3litres. Hopefully it'll do well. Who has used it? Didn't get the recommended gint and the rain didn't help matters.

Present Cappo, i have been offline for a min cuz of naming preps and all. Congrats to my fellow teamies that have put to bed, i missed some BAs but i can see from the roll call. May God bless our babies and keep them for us. Wishing other waddling mamas a smooth delivery.
Yesterday was baby's naming and we named him Ilerioluwatise Asher. I'll share a picture from the naming but dh must not catch me so i will take it down soon.

BS!!!!
First of all, i wanto give thanks to Almighty God for this priviledge to be parents to this great gift.
On Thursday evening, i was having this reoccuring lower back ache so dh and i tot to time it to see if it could be contractions. Lo and behold it was coming more frequently but i insisted we stayed at home and go to the hospital on friday morning. Dh was not having all that as they got more serious so at some mins to 12am we left the house to the hospital.
The doctor on duty(not so nice man) did that VE on me (not painful tho, once the hand gets to where its going) and said i was 5cm gone, i was happy and knew we would meet our bundle of joy early that morning.
We were admitted and the contractions got more intense but i was still laughing tru it. DH was with me so i had someone to put all the pressure from contractions on.
At 7.40 am with strong and mad contractions, the Doctor checked me again and said i was 8cm gone, i was a bit relieved that soon just soon baby boy will arrive.
Fast forward to 11.30 am the MD gangan came to check on me, did the VE and said i was just 8cm gone that the other Doctor was just being generous but he will say the exact thing as it is. At this point i was terribly disappointed and frustrated. Like how can i be 8cm since 12am? With this mad contractions that seemed like i was gonna give up. I said all sorts of nasty stuff to Dh cuz my body was no longer mine, but i kept declaring positive words to my baby and begged him to yield to them.
After the MD(ohh such a godly man) did the VE, he broke my water and said they should administer Oxytocin to hasten the whol process, hmmm that was when i knew real labour.
My sisters that thing is out of this world, i had wicked and strong contractions that were so consistent, my body was no longer mine, i thought i was gone, DH was trying to console me but i told him not to touch me, i wont wish that thing on my enemy cuz it is hell.
When they hit me, i would scream the nurses would say i was pushing but i kept saying "i'm not pushing this baby is pushing me". Ohh the nurses too were angels, such young ladies with a good heart, they were with me all the way, encouraging me and praying with me. They kept saying u're doing great, just try some more. God bless them.
At some minutes past 1pm, MD came in and said i should push intensely when i had the contractions and ohh i was happy that we were almost there. I pushed with all my strength and might, and after about the 4th push and a big cut, at 1.40pm, my hunny bunny popped out with such loud cry, he was placed on my tummy and he was soo warm. I just started thanking God, praying for the Doctor, Nurses everyone around. I bursted into tears, same with DH he could contain his excitement.
All the while, our phones were off cuz we didnt want family members to suspect anything, my mum had called my mil and everyone was worried sick but thank God it ended in praise.
I still sit think about all that labour pains and wonder about how i survived mehnn it was just God. I dont know how soon i wanna take in again cuz i just cant forget all that pain yet but my mum says God has a way of making a woman forget all that and soon again i would start to think of having another child. Well, we shall see how it goes.

Well, mine was like menstrual cramps but didn't affect my back just lower abdomen pain. I didn't even know I was contracting sef. I think you should go to the hospital make you no go born for house. If it's nothing highest you go back home.

And how soon did u put to bed after those contractions? Cuz my contractions have reduced. Is this even normal?

Teamie, you are in labor. If they are 5 minutes apart and lasts for 1 minute, pack your things and go to the hospital before you give birth at home. Safe delivery to you. Waiting for your BA.

Thank you, but it has reduced today and i'm freaking out already. Dont even have the urge to do anything cuz i am soo anxious to see this baby. Let me just see how the day goes before thinking of hospital.

Please i want to know what these contractions really feel like. For the most part of the nigt i had this strong pains(menstrual cramps sort of) down below my back and lower abdomen and it had me waking up at intervals, something i couldnt overlook compared to what i had during the day.
Abeg is that how they start cuz me i'm officially tired of carrying this boy and i want him out already. So help me God.

Cappo it was just watery vaginal discharge.
Meanwhile i lost my mucus plug at midnight, went to the loo and saw mucus tinged with blood, still kept coming out even after then but not feeling any serious pains sha. Will see how it goes during the day.

Is that how it used to be nii? Thought the whole thing will come out at once. Anc is on Saturday but i can call my gynae. I just dont feel any sorta contractions yet and thats why i dont want to put myself under any pressure.
