The 50% # is not the point. I don't even think that they've hammered exactly out what "jointly" means, whether it means equal partners or not.

The point is, should Osun State abandon an asset they have? Even if it is only 20%? Is this what you are advocating, Omo Osun? Omo Osun who doesn't even seem to know about his neighbors to the east? grin

Hehe, after that gaffe I am no more interested in this "more Yoruba than thou" game you've been trying to play.

You didn't have time to explain to me name-dropping earlier, so makes sense that you'd not have time on this thread either.

Something Osun owns a 50% share in, you'd just abdicate like that?

Thank God that you have no say in the matter
PoliticsRe: Ajimobi, Aregbesola Vow To Keep Joint-ownership Of Lautech Intact by ektbear(op): 9:49pm On Oct 07, 2011
Eh, not sure I agree with these governors. Partitioning would have been better. No man can serve two masters, as the Bible says.

Anyway, if you plan on keeping this awkward joint ownership model, how do you plan on preventing future crises from occurring?

IBADAN: Governor Abiola Ajimobi and Rauf Aregbesola of Oyo and Osun state have met and vowed to ensure that the joint ownership of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) stands.

The joint ownership of the institution has been a ding-dong affair between the two states since the tenure of Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala and Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

This was disclosed Senator Ajimobi, yesterday while briefing newsmen at the end of a stakeholders’ meeting on LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, at the Executive Council Chambers of the Oyo State Governor’s Office, Ibadan.

Gov. Ajimobi stressed the need to maintain unity between the two states, adding that the institution should not be allowed to disintegrate but rather, fortified.

The university, according to him, was established by the founding fathers of the two states with the aim of fostering unity among the people of Oyo and Osun.

“It will be a shame if those founding fathers who thought it fit to have LAUTECH will now discover that during our own time, we refuse to fortify it but instead, we allow its disintegration. It will be unforgivable.

“So whatever needs to be done to fortify the university to make it a Number One institution in Africa, and particularly in Nigeria, will be done.

“Although the outgone government had tried to separate, divide and cannibalize the university, we have decided not to allow it,’’ Sen. Ajimobi said.

He said that certain steps had been taken to ensure the unity and oneness of the institution.

Part of the steps, he said, was for the College of Medicine of the institution to remain both in Ogbomosho, Oyo State and Osogbo, Osun State.

Both teaching hospitals, the governor said, would run concurrently, adding that the two owner-states would ensure their accreditation and this would increase the number of medical graduates from the institution, which used to be put conservatively at 75, to be double of that number.

Sen. Ajimobi, who said that the decision for oneness in the running of LAUTECH by the two states was final, said further that the vice chancellor of the institution and other management staff had been charged to provide modalities for implementing all the decisions arrived at.

According to him, the modalities would be submitted by the institution’s management in the next two weeks, maintaining that, “we are one; we shall remain one and by the grace of God, so shall it be’’

Even if I have a daughter who spends too much money I wouldn't disown her.

How can the FG be asking for more money when it is @ 70%+ recurrent expenditure on what it currently takes?

Shouldn't it have to spend the money it gets more wisely before asking for more?

FG spends money like a drunken sailor. No justification for giving it more.

Same terminology applies even if you aren't trying to take the girl home; the strategy applies whether you want to get laid or not.

I'm not an expert, but I pretty much had the same problem as this dude. Was just walking up to girls and dancing too fast. So striking out despite being tall, muscular and good looking.

Then I figured out what I was doing wrong.
RomanceRe: So Why Do Girls Run From Moi? by ektbear: 5:08am On Oct 07, 2011
The main reason not to go too fast is because if she is going at one speed and you are going at one that doesn't match, it won't feel right to her. Will feel awkward. So if you go slow, you can learn her rhythm and vibe with her.

Basically, you can never lose going slow.
RomanceRe: So Why Do Girls Run From Moi? by ektbear: 5:02am On Oct 07, 2011
Another tip for packs.

Sometimes there is a pack of a few girls, one hot and 2 or 3 fat cockblockers who will ruin your chances with the hot girl if you don't handle them properly.

If you have a wingman, have him handle the fat friend and you go for the cute chick.

If no wingman, may want to try one dance with the fat girl to prevent her from messing things up, then move in on the hot girl.

But be careful. . . if you do this while I'm around, I'll scoop the hot girl and leave you with the fatty grin
RomanceRe: So Why Do Girls Run From Moi? by ektbear: 4:59am On Oct 07, 2011
People have said lots of good things. Let me add a few comments:

1. Don't dance too fast. Let the girl do most of the work when you dance, you are just kind of there to "enjoy the ride", so to speak. Well, you can go crazy if you want, but just not a good idea with someone you are just dancing with for the first time. The slower you move, the better.

2. Make sure you are cleanly shaven, nice cologne, clothes that look nice and fit you properly. I usually take a pack of gum with me too, so if I have a drink or two my breath doesn't smell of alcohol.

3. Don't hover. If you want to dance with a girl, make your move and do it within 1 minute of deciding. Lingering around her is just creepy and kills both of your vibe. Plus. . . if she says no, doesn't mean another girl won't say yes! So best to evaluate and move on quickly if it doesn't work out.

4A. Sometimes it is good to have a wingman with you. Girls for whatever reason always like dancing in circles with their friends. So you can use your buddy to separate them and go for the kill.

4B. However if you are are good at this stuff, it is even better to go by yourself. That way you don't need to worry about whether your buddy is having fun or not, etc. If you are by yourself and are trying to land one girl out of a "pack", then imo dance with all of them first, make sure things go smooth then concentrate on the one you want.

5. Another thing to keep in mind is that naija girls FAKE a LOT. They'll be feeling you but sometimes acting weird because their friends are around, they don't want to look like a freak or whatever.

6. If none of the above works, take a few shots of liquor and you'll be good to go.

BTW, Love nightclub can be crappy sometimes. Too crowded. You should check out Bar 7 and some of the other smaller clubs, they can be pretty fun.

Another tip, hit up reggae joints! Girls there are always down to dance and are don't play as many games.

Finally, the right attitude to have when you go clubbing is "If none of these b1tches like me, their loss, not mine. They can go fvck themselves." You need to be relaxed and not give a crap. If you take it too seriously it can seriously kill your mojo.
