Politics / Time To Change The Change By Soibi Ransom by Elaibedouglas: 8:18pm On Feb 15, 2019
Time to Change the Change

By Soibi Ransom

He once had no shoes
But he rose to the highest office
With all the hate and anger
He still performed to his best.

They never cared
They wanted change
A change we have never heard
They promised heaven on earth
Told lies and fairytales.

The people gave it a go
They chance for a change
Integrity they claimed
Now we know it was never a change
A change of chains.

The living had no jobs
Yet they appointed the dead
What a shame!
Poverty everywhere
Suffering everyday.

They never cared
Stubbornly continued in a bad rule
Don’t dare us they warned.

Now they clamour a new slogan
A next level !
Now we won’t ask
Before it becomes like the negative change.

The ballot boxes are set
Yet some still desire to be slaves
To continue in a change
A negative type of Change
A next level of Shame.

No way we the smart have said
We are tired of such change
A change of chains
It’s time to change the change.

This Poem is dedicated to all those who will vote out the negative change of Buhari and his clueless administration.

Politics / If Buhari Wins I Will Doubt If God Loves Nigeria by Elaibedouglas: 6:49pm On Feb 15, 2019
President Buhari's victory may make me doubt if God really loves Nigeria. Few years back Jonathan was kicked out having performed much better than his predecessor in governance. Buhari has however gained some form of favouritism amongst Nigerians despite Atiku better experience and possible success if elected. For a man whose certificate cannot be truly proven and who on several occasions has done Injustice to many and caused hardship for the poor. Buhari's government has also seen the highest frustration among youths. I will doubt it God loves Nigeria and the fairness of all the treatment Jonathan got should Buhari get reelected.

Literature / Poem: Revolutionary Storm By Soibi Ransom by Elaibedouglas: 1:36pm On Jan 08, 2019
Revolutionary Storm

By Soibi Ransom

My hands are broken
My feet bruised
My face has a remarkable scar
My heart gushes out blood.

My waist sprained
My ankle pierced with a pin
My struggles are breathtaking
Challenges stare at me.

My ways are right
My path is fair
My name tells goodness
But I have not been exempted from troubles.

I am a lion
Who no longer lives in the den
My roar has been subdued by arrows.

But I have improved
I swim like a fish when I face waters
I dive like a goalie to clinch opportunity
I run like a cheetah for success.

My eyes are alert at night
They see clearly in the dark
Terror beats around my home
Thunder rumbling in my balcony
Lighting flashes across my window.

But I have always been strong
Strong that the world thinks I have no wounds
I play through pain
My hemorrhage is as red as palm oil
But I stand where others clearly fell flat.

I have been prolific even in adversity
Magnanimous in defeat
My heart does not shrink
It remains as broad as width
My goals remain as long as length.

With a gun in my face
I did not relinquish my dreams
I fought to live it
To be
Where I am destined to rule.

The enemy whispered
You cannot withstand the storm
I replied
I am a storm
Tougher than you thought.

I have been made of iron
My feet is now covered with bronze
My eyes flash fire
My mouth as sharp as a sword.

I have no kingdom
Yet I am more than a king
I will rule many kingdoms by proxy
I had conquer nations.

Is Amaechi Now Amongst the Wailers?

Editorial

By Soibi Ransom

President Muhammadu Buhari may have won a straight ticket to re-contest under the All Progressive congress but his support from within his party the All Progressive Congress has hit the rocks with certain new revelations by a prominent member of his circus, Rotimi Amaechi.

The current Minister of Transport and two-tenured Governor of Rivers has in a leaked audio taped released by the opposition’s ( Peoples Democratic Party ) media officer Reno Omokiri to have hit out at his principal Buhari with strong words that are capable of damaging his relationship with the Presidency forever. Amaechi had let out a can of worms in the audio recording when he said the President doesn’t read or listen to advice and the opinion of the masses means nothing to him.

“The president does not listen to anybody. He doesn’t care. You can write what you want to write. The president doesn’t care. Does he read? He will read, he will laugh. He will say ‘come, come and see, they are abusing me here’.

“In fact, there was one case of somebody in Onitsha, a trader in Onitsha who couldn’t sell his goats during Sallah. And I was with Oga on the plane and the man was busy abusing Buhari. He said, ‘Amaechi, come, what is my business with Onitsha goat seller?

Rotimi Amaechi a major player in President Buhari’s cabinet was instrumental in Buhari’s victory in 2015. Amaechi was reported to have diverted billions of Naira from the Rivers State treasury to help oust President Jonathan after his public fall out with the former First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan.
President Jonathan had told some of his inner circle that if he returns in 2015

Politics / Don't Be Fooled By Buhari's Next Level Slogan by Elaibedouglas: 12:09am On Dec 23, 2018
The Promise of Change, a Change of Slogan.

By Soibi Ransom

Elections and farfetched promises are often hands in a glove. Politicians the world over have always attempted to exploit the naivety of the masses to accumulate votes for themselves by making unrealistic promises of what they will do if elected.

It was by this time in 2014 as Nigeria and INEC were warming up for the most crucial elections at Presidential level. Three time contestant General Muhammadu Buhari had entered a coalition with some major players in the PDP and the AC who were against the re-election of incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan to form the All Progressive Congress. The All Progressive Congress mainly comprised of Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) , Buhari’s CPC and disgruntled PDP members headed by Senator Bukola Saraki called the NPDP.

The All Progressive Congress became formidable enough to snatch power from the Peoples Democratic Party who had held the reins of power for 16 solid years. While Nigerians were a bit dissatisfied with Goodluck Jonathan’s regime, the opposition had gone into desperation mode spreading propaganda and making baseless promises.

President Jonathan had told Nigerians to be aware of those desperate for power who go about making empty promises. His cry was ignored as supporters of the APC went about clamouring for change and telling the whole country how incompetent Jonathan’s government. They peddled the rumour of a missing $20 billion under NNPC’s watch and told Nigerians that with Buhari in power live would be easier for Nigerians.
The first lady Aisha Buhari was seen frying bean cakes and the likes of Rotimi Amaechi was spotted in schools sitting with pupils and eating a piece of snacks.

Buhari himself was seen carrying a young child affectionately to gain the affection of his voters. Like many politicians of his time in the United States who kissed babies during their political campaigns to court favour with voters, the reform Mayor of New York City from 1934 to 1945, Fiorello La Guardia, once carried a baby in his arms to feign affection for the people..
After an expensive campaign Jonathan was defeated and Buhari installed as President.

The atmosphere of expectation was strong and optimistic as the President in his inaugural speech told ‘’ I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody’’
President Buhari took six months to set up his cabinet with the economy suffering enormously as a result of his decisiveness
