We should just win our match tomorrow.

We should play our experience players. The kids will always run and run, create chances and not score. But the experience guys like Mkhitaryan, Pogba, Martial inclusive will always have better decision making. A player like Martial should be played 90 minutes. Such guys sometimes bring the magic moment. Lingard and Rashford should be relegated to the bench.

City were chasing the game - they were always gonna be vulnerable to counter attacks...

Even if Kompany was there, i doubt if he alone woulda been able to single-handedly mark Willian & Hazard during a counter attack.
Kompany would not have easily been outpaced. He is strong and fast.

Manchester City defence lack pace without Kompany. William and Hazard goals were from counter attacks and speed. Even when there were defenders they couldn't track the runs

Just imagine where almost 500billion is going to ? Why has no one asked why states are unable to pay salaries , what are those governors doing to raise revenue within there states , did they become governors just to be paying only salaries or wat
States are paying back heavy loans they collected during the oil boom. In time of plenty, our governors collected loans left, right, and centre. Now oil price has collapsed, they can't repay those loans and they have nothing left to pay salaries.

Imagine, a state like Delta states used to go home with monthly allocations of 14 billion, and they still borrowed to add on top. Now they get only 5 billion after deductions. Delta is still a buoyant state compared to many other states which cannot even get 2 billion in a month.

All these have led to the recession we are in now

I know say dem dey do but how those pool players take know say na fixed draw? And if dem wan fix match, na man u wey don dey draw since dem go fix?
Before EPL era, there were particularly matches fixed to end in goalless or score draw in all divisions of English and Scottish league. After the league was rebranded, EPL matches are not fixed again, perhaps only far lower division matches. These matches were fixed for Football Pool (Coupon) purpose. According to Football Pool compilers and bookmakers those days, they would write that football Pool was the exclusive preserve of the British Royals.

So those days, one could forecast and predict results of certain matches by painstaking study of FA fixtures as arranged in a Coupon from number 1 to 58, or study the forecast papers made by those who were given the privilege to know some results and were sworn to oath of secrecy.

So for instance, in the Coupon arrangement, there could be a key (system) where anytime West Ham is on Coupon number 3 playing at away to a team that it's first alphabet is A (Arsenal, Aston Villa) , on a week 10 fixtures, all the teams occupying number 13, 23,33,43, 53 will be produce 4 draws out of five. The one that played a W letter team (let's say Wimbledon, Wolves, etc) the previous week will be the one not end in a draw. And the system/Key will be made to work 5 times. After which the bookmakers make it popular to ruin people the Sixth time.

Or may be a bookmaker, that is a maker of research paper who is one of the few individuals privileged to the secret draws (Chief Ehi Obinyan was the only Nigeria I knew had that privilege, there were some British guys, all these guys were very rich), when they flash the picture of sir Alex Ferguson on their front page, then Aberdeen will be fixed to draw that week. Then the system will be made to work only 6 times across two years.

These are just examples, systems and keys come in different form. Many nights of study of fixture couples for past weeks, months and years could pay off. Some of the bookmakers sometimes sell keys, but finding a genuine source was a problem. Some bookmakers helped people who rendered help to them. Like the story of a man who unknownly helped a bookmaker with a flat tyre.

Weekly Fixtures were arranged in a Coupon from number 1 to 58. English teams occupy from number 1 to number 40, while Scottish teams arranged from 41 to 58. But later the Coupon was reduced from 58. Premier league teams occupy from number 1, while then followed by Championship teams, etc. Only teams playing at afternoon in England and Scotland are used for fixtures. Early kick off, late kick off, Sunday, Weekday matches are not used for football pools. Only 3pm/4pm Saturday matches are used.

From week 38 or week 40 when all the English divisions are on break, the Coupon shifts to Australian league which was always very more difficult to forecast.

Carrick cannot play all our matches. He has to play one game per week the most. This is why it important to keep Schweinsteiger ready and match-fit to be able to play some of the games. Carrick wouldn’t be fresh if used often.

Last season, Gaal rotated Carrick and Schweinsteiger in the role until injury hit both of them.

Abegi, don't let me vex for you this morning.
You are clutching at straw. It is same technological measurement used in reaching the clear cut chances for all the players in the world that was used for Ibrahimovic. If opta said he had X numbers of clear cut chances and missed x% of them, then that's final.

You don't know any better than the clubs, coaches, journalist who make use of them. Even the best TV analysts.

Haba! See them like married couple....
I am tired of the guy self. He argues things that are not arguable. Opta tells how many shots taken by every player in a match, they tell how many chances created how many clear cut chances etc. Clubs and coaches use these data, big media houses use them. Manchester City even hired whoscored to help analyse opta data in details as in players comparison.

Exactly why there's a visual chart.. But do they show the visual chart for their clear-cut chances? Literally, the missed chances are read the same way the forward passes are read unless you view the visual charts.

.
Do you listen to yourself at all? Do you also listen to others?

What has visual chance got to do with a missed tap-in, or a missed close range header or one vs one situation? I also told you clear cut chances stats are not available to download for free. This is why those who pay for it can download it, like skysports, Manchester United, Manchester City, coaches, FAs etc.

Clear cut chances missed has nothing to do with forward passes. They are two different events. You are beginning to sound like you are not educated.

Kagawa10:
I have asked you to list those 8 easy chances Ibra had missed so far but you've only listed few...
I am sure I have listed 7-8. What else do you want? Do you expect me to keep all in memory? The tracking technology recorded everything. It's the same information that's provided to FA and clubs. FAs makes use of these data from opta. English FA added EAsports to their stats providers.

I think am done with you.

The Rooney's yellow was not suppose to be. It was even the guy that jumped on Rooney, but he shouldn't have reacted. So Pogba comes in for Rooney vs Everton. Carrick wouldn't be playing that match.

Kagawa10:
The truth is I've seen all the chances Ibra had and I've even put it to you to spell these chances out yet you kept bringing up Opta stats? How does this Opta determine its clear-cut chances?
!
OPTA: Clear Cut Chances definition
Clear Cut chances are one of those underrated stats in football. The definition of a clear cut chance is ‘ A situation where a player should reasonably be expected to score usually in a one-on-one scenario or from very close range. ’ (EPL Index) So in other words, a clear cut chance is a chance where the attacker is odds on to score, it can range from a one on one finish, a unmarked headed chance or a tap in chance.

Kagawa10:
It's like a player made a 5 yards forward pass to his compatriot who made a 15 yards forward pass to another mate but Opta would have us believe both made forward passes.

Abegi!
If you download the pass chart of each player, you would see the length of each pass and in what area of the field. See the chart below.

For instance the first chart shows all Michael Carrick's passes against Swansea on November field. The ones in red are the ones not successful. He made about 95% pass accuracy.

The second chart shows United passes that led to Ibrahimovic's equaliser against West Ham. You can see Opta records everything. So Opta will rate the final pass made by Pogba higher than the other passes. The passes made in the final third may rated higher than the ones made from our defence.

Kagawa10:
The thing is we should be grateful to Ibra because he makes those chances happen in the first place. Rashford wouldn't even bother about those nonsense.

Did you think Rashford/Aguero/Aubameyang would be contesting any of those aerial ball/mid air balls the team often launched into the opposition's box? Definitely not. As a matter of fact, I've seen Ibra made a lot of Valencia's average crosses look great which wasn't the case when Rashford/Rooney was leading the line last season.

Yes, Ibra has missed some chances but it has been grossly overstated. As far I'm concerned, he's created much more than those he's missed and has scored more difficult goals for us.

He simply contributes much more to the team. He's still the best at providing throughballs in the team and has been involved in majority of our chances. He created a lot against Burnley as well as the Stoke city match and in the Westham game etc. Even majority of Rashford's goals were fashioned out by Ibra.

As you already know, I like Rashford than Ibra but that doesn't mean I should be deluded in my reasoning. The reality is Ibra suits this kind of Mourinho's aerial style a lot more than Rashford. Not only that, his vision is also essential in our attacking play in the final third because we still don't have a major creative player in the team, don't be so deluded with the crosses and lofted balls the team often launched into the box!
This is not the point I was trying to make. I only wanted to explain clear cut chances to you as used in professional football.

Let me address one of your points above. You said Ibrahimovic made the clear cut chance happen. It doesn't matter. Rashford speed made the clear cut chance against West Ham happen. In the last world cup, England vs Italy, there was missed clear cut chance recorded against Rooney. He jumped higher than everyone else (including taller defenders) and headed a ball that appeared to be going out of play, he hit the bar, but it was recorded as a CCC missed. Whereas it was his effort that even made it a chance.

Ibra had 9 shots taken from inside the penalty and Opta judged him to have missed 8 big chances, coincidence?

Abegi, I have better things to do with my time!
It's just a coincidence. Otherwise why does Walcott has 21 shots inside the penalty box while his total clear cut chances is 15.

We could go on with Defoe, Lukaku.

Abeg you be go school before o? You have seen opta website, skysports, etc defined for you what a clear cut chance is, you are here still thinking clear cut chances could possible be shots taken inside the box. You appear not to even know the difference between the penalty box and the six yard area.

Kagawa10:
Rooney cross was no clear-cut chance. It was an aerial ball to the side of the net, not in front of goal. He would need some manoeuvring of the head before that can land inside the net.. In fact, he did justice to the ball but the keeper saved it. Ibra isn't a machine, take that to your brain. As if Rooney can even score that, he's not even as tall to reach that level.

The one against Watford isn't clear-cut per say. It was a defensive error by the Watford defenders and they promptly closed down Ibra before he could take a shot.
Which match was that Rooney's cross let's see if it's same event we are talking about?

On the other hand, defensive error or not, a clear cut chance is a clear cut chance. Last season, Martial intercepted a back pass meant for the opposition goalkeeper, that was a clear cut chance since it set him one vs one against the keeper.

These things are recorded by computer. The same system that said Ibrahimovic has converted only 11% says Walcott has converted 40%. Yet Walcott is one of the worst in the EPL.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 2:05pm On Nov 30, 2016
Kagawa10:
In fact, let's count these clear-cut chances Ibra had missed so far in the league.

One was missed against burnley after Pogba cross, the only other clear-cut Ibra had, was Mata's pass which was well saved by the keeper.

2 were missed against city (the one after Rashford's cross and the one blocked by Stones).

Only 1 clear-cut against Liverpool even though I don't think that one was actually quite clear-cut.

1 was missed against Watford after Rashford's cross. The other one was too far to his reach and the Watford keeper quickly made it to the ball before he could.

Against Stoke, the only clear-cut he had was double saved by the Stoke keeper. In fact, Pogba and Lingard's clear cut chances weren't even saved.

He didn't have any against Westham, majorities were air volley shots or difficult headed chances to boot. The one good ground shot he had was well blocked.

So, Elampiro do tell me these clear-cut you had imagined in your head.

How many does Ibra even get per game?
So where did you keep the one against City? Against Watford he missed another one vs one due to lack of pace, the video I provided didn’t capture it. There was another match Rooney clearly picked him with a pin pointing pass but he again missed.

You don't expect me to have everything in my memory. If not that you I reminded you about those chances I mentioned, you had already forgotten about them. It is a shame that you contest football events that are scientificially collated and used by FAs, Clubs, coach, journalists, TV analysts, etc. This is not about mamaput, before you came here, this and some other issues you contest now have long been settled.

It's funny to me coz this point you made was the crux of the argument between Christine and I, and you supported her stance of giving Zlatan new contract instead of getting a younger quality striker. So why the sudden U-turn?

I'm glad every stat you quoted has placed Ibra at the top of goal squanderers. I didn't even read those stats to know Ibra has squandered more goals than any striker on EPL. When I was against giving Ibra a new contract, I wasn't hating or saying it coz I didn't like his purchase, I was stating facts. His pace has declined and he misses begging chances. If we are serious about getting to the top, we need a younger quality striker to will serve us for at least 5 seasons.

Elampiro

Let's thrash this out.. Opta stats showed that Ibra took 9 shots from inside the penalty box and also judged him to have missed 8 clear cut chances. This inadvertly means that every shots taken from inside the penalty box were counted as clear-cut chances but the videos showed majority of this chances were not as clear-cut as the stats would have us believe. Most of them were difficult aerial duels or mid air volley shots..

So do tell me, how do Opta determines these difficult chances.

Aguero for example has missed as many clear-cut chances as Ibra, if not more but he didn't have high percentage on Opta because Aguero hardly contested aerial or mid air balls and as such, his missed chances were less than that of Ibra.

In other words, if Ibra had missed just 4 clear-cut chances and Aguero missed 4 clear-cut chances as well but the fact that Ibra had other shots taken inside the penalty box regardless of how difficult they were, would increase his shots tallies while Aguero's remain the same!

Can you get the memo, stats worshipper!
What kind of thinking is this?

Ibrahimovic had 9 inside the 6 yard box.
34 inside the 18 yard box.

The area of the pitch doesn’t define what kind of chance it is.

The opta stats showed that 9 shots was taken by Ibra from inside the penalty area yet Ibra was alleged to have missed 8 chances regardless of 7 goals he's scored..

Do tell me where all the missed shots came from?
And are you implying that Aguero/Rashford would have contested those aerial chances or mid air balls, let alone the difficult ones?

You're simply someone who can't eve think out of the box other than resorting to opta even when the visual clips above stated otherwise. You should be grateful to Ibra for contesting the chances in the first place, Your rooney is even useless in that regards and of course you didn't see the one Rooney missed vs Watford, that's what a clearcut chance is about, seeing that you don't know what it entails and it was created by Ibra!
What has a clear cut chance got to do with shots taken inside the 6 yard area? A clear cut chance could result from anywhere in the final third, not just inside the box penalty area. If a keeper is displaced from his goal and no one defending the goal, then an unmark striker who is supposed to slot in from outside.

For instance, whether Torres took this shot from outside the box, inside or in penalty area, it is a clear cut chance from the very time he received the ball and went clear one vs one with the keeper.

I dont know what Rooney has got to do with this. Which chance are you even referring to?
