Shameful |
Our best shopping mall is gone. The only good mall. Bad news! |
codedguy1:I think he plays on both wings. |
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has said playing in the Europa League is "killing" him. The Swede was part of the United side that won 2-0 against Zorya Luhansk in Ukraine on Thursday, a result that ensured they progressed to the knockout stages of the competition. But the 35-year-old striker said the schedule of having to play Thursdays and Sundays hasn't sat well with him. "We don't have a lot of rest. These Thursdays are killing us, especially me. Now we have one day less to recover before we face Spurs. [Source: standard.co.uk] #MUFC #Ibrahimovic |
^^^ If true, we will get some good pace down the wing, but more competition for our forwards. With Mkhitaryan hitting form, and the fact that Ibrahimovic and Pogba must play 90 minutes, it is going to be hard time for Rooney, Martial, Mata and Lingard. I guess Young settles for deputy right back or finds another club. To think Young was our best outfit player two seasons ago, playing on the left wing. It's clear Mourinho wants to keep Fellaini, but it is almost over for Schneirderlin and Mephis. I will also like Darmian to be sold. We have Luke Shaw, Blind and Rojo on the left. We can play Jones on the right if Valencia is injured. |
José Mourinho has spoken directly to Dimitri Payet for a January move to Manchester United. [Le10Sport] |
But Pogba doesn't like playing quick passes. Even a slow pace match, he still manages to get slower than the game. |
Lana1:When Moyes beat Leverkusen 5-0 |
zlatan10:This is a great scoring form. |
Yesterday #BREAKING There is a risk of Uniteds game with Zorya being called off tomorrow night. Temperatures set to fall to -9 over night and the pitch is already rock hard and icy. There will be a pitch inspection at 8am UK time tomorrow. |
kokaneprodigy:They (Ukraine and Russia) have teams that play in the UCL. Receive sense |
patrickmuf:We lost possession completely when Carrick, Herrera, Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Martial and Ibrahimovic were on the field. What we needed was a ball winner and players who could really run. Fellaini was not a bad choice though, being he can win long balls. But I think Lingard should have also come in. He is better at winning the ball on the ground than the rest of our forwards, and he can run with it to start a counter. |
zlatan10:Exactly, if Carrick, Herrera and Pogba could not cope, was it Mata who is more weak defensively that should have coped? We were not winning the balls, that was the major problems. We needed a ball winner and runners to exploit them on the counter. |
patrickmuf:I don't think Mata would have helped. Mata flourish when United dominates, but unseen when we are dominated, particularly when dominated with long balls. Lingard would have done better than Mata. Lingard has a good defensive sense and he would have combined well with Valencia to take the ball forward on a counter. Carrick and Herrera who had more defensive abilities were not able to cope with the long balls, so Mata wouldn't have done anything. |
MrLouisVanGaal:It's terrible. The arrangement is horrible. And from there dangerous crosses go into our box. Mourinho should address it. |
weedtaker:I think it's just too painful considering it was from an almost harmless situation. If he were beaten by an opposition player to a dangerous scoring position, we would be less bitter. But the guy had already lost control of the ball and was taking a fall. It also painful particularly the missed chance to close the gap with Liverpool and City. We were more forgiving of Rashford for the error against Arsenal because he is a kid. We didn't need another error yet. The players on the field had managed to keep it clean and tidy despite fire after fire, then the one that was sent to give them a helping hand messed it up from almost a harmless situation. Players do cause penalties, even Ferdinand, Evra... But some penalties given away are just mumu. Was he trying to fool the referee? The ref had forgiven us for Rojo's reckless tackle, it was clear he would compensate for it later with the slightest of wrong move. |
I think we should drop Fellaini from making the bench and promote Timothy Funso Mensah. We should start grooming him as a DM, a combative DM. The major problem we have when we try to protect a lead is our inability to give close marking and win the ball back. It looks like we just escort the opposition players while they boss us around our own third from side to side until they penetrate. We should get a combative DM who can also pass. I think we can begin to train TFM, he has the height to deal with earlier balls, he has jumping power, he has the speed of a sprinter to carry the ball forward and return quickly. He is going to give opposition headache when he chases them for the ball. This guy is 6.3ft tall, same height with Smalling, just 0.1 less than Fellaini. The central and attacking midfielders should also be taught how to win tackles. Those days JS Park, Anderson and Rooney wouldn't give you breathing space when they chase or track back. Even Tevez as a striker would start the chasing back. It was only Nani who was poor in winning tackles, but now we have too many of such people who can't win tackles. |
chrisley024:Fellaini started the season well, he was very good in our first two or three matches. But he was soon exposed due to his sluggish play. Perhaps, our approach then and now has changed. At the beginning of the season our football was still very slow and boring with our defence line playing deep while we took eternity to get to the final third and opposition box. Fellaini will not cope with the fast football the likes of Herrera and Mkhitaryan are playing in our build up game. Carrick is slow physically but he is still able to pick fast passes. If Fellaini is unable to come to help see out our games, then he he would be useless to us. The guy he fouled for that penalty had already lost the ball because he lost his balance and was going down on his own. He wasn't called in to hit people but to head long balls away. |
weedtaker:A draw at Goodison Park ain't bad if you are not far from the top team, and if you didn't play far better for the greater part of the match. |
weedtaker:All these guys still completed the match. Then Mourinho substituted Martial and Mkhitaryan who were still ready to run around. He also left Ibrahimovic who wasn't winning balls from our defence. |
weedtaker:So you mean you support the needless penalty Fellaini gave away at 88'? |
sinaj:That's my baby |
sinaj:So you are Calabar? You eat dog? Puapua |
Pogba and Ibrahimovic should reduce their fancy football. When we scored, we had opportunity of adding another in the first half, but Pogba and Ibrahimovic appeared to play fancy passes instead of purposeful passes with the right weight. A certain pass from Ibrahimovic to Mkhitaryan should have resulted in a clear one vs one if Ibrahimovic played the pass with with more serious mindedness instead of trying to make it sexy. Only Mkhitaryan and Martial were serious minded. |
Among our attacking players, Lingard and Young are the best at defending. Rooney is also very good at defending when he wants to help. Fellaini is good at defending aerial balls but he slows down our attacking play. Sometimes the best form of defence is to attack. May be we should just keep attacking to the last whistle. Defending a slim lead is no longer working. |
AdisaOwala:Finishing top is not in our hands. But we still have to get the three points and wait for Fernabache to slip against Feyenoord. It is always a disadvantage tange meeting a tough team early in the Knockout stage. We need to avoid such teams as Zenith, Roma, Ajax at this stage |
Pogba didn't play proper 10 today. Our formation today was 4-3-3 ................. Carrick ... Herrera............ Pogba Mkhitaryan.. Ibra.... Martial |
chrisley024:We cannot afford not to win against Zorya. We play our best legs. Only Carrick deserve rest. May be Europa will be our route to UCL football. |
chrisley024:He just didn't apply wisdom there. That guy was going nowhere, and it was about that time Everton were destined not to score. One or two forward balls to Rashford or Valencia, we take away two minutes from the play. |
When we defend why do we leave space on the full backs positions? Yesterday, when Chelsea were leading 2-1, they covered their full backs and midfield positions well. We always leave our left back open until a pass goes to that direction |
chrisley024:We did the 3 man centre defence before. Smalling came on late to help Bailly and Blind, and did well defending aerial balls that day. I am now tired of Fellaini, the only thing he knew how to do was to see a game out. Now that he has lost it, he is completely useless. |
chrisley024:I wanted Bailly for the aerial balls stuff. I remember how Felliani made us worse the last time. Mourinho doesn't appear to know how to defend anymore |
