[img][/img]Top 6 Nigerian Local Dishes Introduction Nigeria is a country that is rich in terms of culture and heritage. A country that has over 300 ethnic groups. Each group has its own unique culture and traditions. One important aspect of this tradition for most ethnic groups is the issue of food. The various ethnic groups have meals and dishes that are unique to their identity. Some meals are meant for August occasions like Marriage ceremonies, child naming, burial ceremonies, and a host of others. We shall be examining 5 of these delicious local cuisines in Nigeria. Pounded Yam. This is a delicacy that is well known in southwest Nigeria. It is usually prepared during special occasions like festivals and at ceremonies like marriage, child naming, etc. Pounded yam is prepared by peeling the back of the yam and boiling it. After boiling, it is pounded using a pestle and mortar. Blenders could also be used. After processing it, you get a product similar to a white dough. Pounded yam is a starchy food. It is quite heavy. Usually served during lunch or dinner time. Jollof Rice. This delicacy is readily prepared in all parts of Nigeria. It is served at occasions such as birthday parties, marriage ceremonies, and the Christmas period. Jollof rice is easy to prepare. It is made with ingredients such as onions, pepper, tomatoes, beef, and so on. The dish is not localized only to Nigeria. It is a dish prepared across west African countries. Countries like Ghana, Cameroon, and Togo all have their version of jollof rice. It is a great source of carbohydrates. It is available at the shops and restaurants around the country. Yam porridge (Asaro). This food is predominant in the North central region of the country. This region is known to grow a lot of yams. Yam porridge is made by removing the back and boiling the yams. While preparing it, the yam is slightly crushed together with the ingredients. This delicacy could be prepared together with fish, meat, or chicken. It is mostly served during lunch or dinner time. Eba (Cassava Meal). Eba is a delicacy made from cassava flour. Cassava flour is produced from cassava. This involves peeling the back of cassava and soaking it to ferment for days. After which it is processed into garri. Garri is then used to make eba. Eba is made by adding hot water to garri. Then stir to achieve consistency. This delicacy is also a starchy food. As it is rich in starch and carbohydrates. Bean Cake (Akara). Bean cake is one of my favorite snacks. Bean cake is a popular delicacy in Nigeria. It is prepared by a lot of ethnic groups from the North and Southern region. Akara is usually prepared by first soaking the beans in water for a few hours to remove the shell. After that, spices are added to the soaked beans. It is then ground into a paste. This paste is then fried. The color of the bean cake, if properly fried, becomes yellowish. Akara can be taken with ogi, milk, and sugar. Another combo is taking it with bread. Bean cake is a healthy food as it is a source of protein and fiber for the body. It is mostly served during breakfast. Melon Soup (Egusi). Egusi soup is a popular cuisine in the southeastern part of Nigeria. It is prepared from melon seeds. To make egusi soup, you need to grind the melon seed into powder. Some ingredients used for preparing this soup include Maggie cubes, palm oil, spices, meat, fish, or chicken. The soup is a healthy meal as it is a source of vitamins and minerals for the body. When next you visit the eastern part of Nigeria, do try out egusi soup. |

I remember chatting tugrow up when I still thought his logistics company had some intergrity left, in less than 5 minutes i got responce through his whatsapp. But as yawa don gas now for tugrow to refund me now he is refering to a customer agent who does not give any feed back. tugrow:Maybe you are not listening, your customer agent collected my details three days back without any feedback what so ever from her. I do all the calls all the time. I called you up because she was of no help at all. I sent her my details and yet nothing like a feed back. Like i said all i need is a refund. |
tugrow:I hope you do because what you portray online is quiet different from the experience i got both from you and your customer care agent. After reading up stuffs online about import business i decided to use your logistics company. I read through your page registered because some of colleagues needed stuff from china. I placed an order but saw a notice that said a minimum of 3000 should be paid as a show of commitment to ones order. I paid the sum of 3000 into a first bank account named ABRAHAM SAMUEL GODWIN on the 8th of december 2018. After that i awaited responce from your team based on my order but non came. When I chatted Eunice about it on whatsapp she told me the goods would get to Nigeria next year and i explained that the goods are actually meant for the Christmas celebration that she should cancel the order let me get a refund. I chatted you up and even called you to explain and you said i should send my account details which i did. At a point you refused picking my calls. All Eunice kept saying was she was gonna get back to me which usually doesn't. All I want is the refund of my money. |
chloride6:Bros you are right he is nothing but a scam. Maybe initially he was doing well but right now he is bad market and because of this 3000 i intend to call him out on any social media platform i find him. tugrow you are a fraud. |
tugrow you are nothing but a scam seriously. Let me have my refund of just 3000 naira now its an issue. You nothing but fraud. I pray you meet your waterloo some day. |
