HealthRe: Good News!! Four More Ebola Patients Discharged – Health Minister by Eldavido1: 6:17am On Aug 19, 2014
Ezyp: AGREED but what about the treatment used?..
I dont think there is any particular drug use. Early treatment has been known to offer fighting chance to those infected with ebola. People have survived ebola even in liberia. The current epidemic kills only 55% of its victim. So if the patient immunity is strong and supportive management given early, the will survive it. The problem is most cases are reported late in places like liberia and the health facility their is very poor!
PoliticsRe: The Nigeria Army Maybe Charged For War crime Against Humanity by Eldavido1: 5:46am On Aug 19, 2014
babseg: I saw this documentary on channel 4 how Nigeria Army were killing suspected BH.

They brought in some expert claiming that this is a crime against humanity.

I watched the documentary and I started crying cry when I saw some people been slaughtered by NA.

I will try to post a link later
Did you ever shed tears for victims of boko haram or the over 200 girls that are daily being rape by these monsters or women and children been slaughter daily? The same west who refuse to criticise Israel for killing and bombing armless civilian showed you a dubious video and you started sheding tears. This is same mentality that the northern elders adopted which made BH persist to this day.

davidoye: has anyone wondered why news of dis treatment has never been on cnn or bbc.is dis western ego,as if to say 'how can dey find a cure when we have not' or are dey jus trying to be sure.
But when the announce the dead of some patients the were quick in carrying it on headlines to the extend of misrepresenting nigeria on the map. Everyone trying to bring this country down cannot and will not succeed. IJN

blank: The truth shall set us free. Did they test positive to the virus ab initio or they were just under observation and were released? Just like the case of the first woman that was released, if US had not come out to say that she never had it in the first instance, we would still be listening to our Minister spout his lies.
which US came out and say she never had it? you actually believe that sourceless news? When even the WHO health workers in nigeria working on the ebola patient confirmed it, you are still waiting for your lord in US to confirm it for you abi?
HealthRe: Good News!! Four More Ebola Patients Discharged – Health Minister by Eldavido1: 5:23am On Aug 19, 2014
Ezyp: Your point is clearly understood..but bro read the write up again and u will see that the story is sketchy...NO NAMES OF THOSE DISCHARGED, UNKNOWN TREATMENT USED, AT LEAST PICTURES OF THE DISCHARGED.. looks like the minister wants to ease tensions..why can't they come out plain..

But all the same I pray this is true and we should stop bothering ourselves what the west think.
If you where once an ebola patient treated and cure, will you want your name and picture spread all over the net? you wont believe the level of stigmatization that will follow. Nobody is going to touch you with a long stick even with the fact that you are certify cured. Nigeria has done a good job by hiding their identity. Thats professional. It saves them from the likely stigmatization to follow.

817: The world is really wired up for bad news. When the Minister of Health announced that Nigeria has had its first Ebola Case all the news agencies carried the news in a flash. All the updates on how many people have contacted the disease was on news wires before you could blink. Now the same Minister of Health has officially announced how well Nigeria has managed Ebola resulting in 4 people being certified free of the disease. Unfortunately not one international news agency has carried the news. I think is time we realise that the western world does not think that any good will come out of Africa. What a shame!
Exactly my thoughts. Expecially the western media houses. The just cant wait to hear bad news coming from Africa, goodnews gives them nightmare.

EasternLeopard: Tariff do not affect ECOWAS nations
I Don't tink so. The Ecowas common external tariff plan has not fully taken off reason why someone importing cars from Cotonou will face same charges. If it's applicable to Benin Republic I don't see any reason why Ghana won't be affected.
PoliticsRe: Ghana To Export Cars To Nigeria And The Rest Of Africa. by Eldavido1: 12:56pm On Aug 18, 2014
The car may struggle to penetrate the Nigerian market given our recent increase in tariff on imported cars. All cars not manufacture in nigeria have a tariff of 70% slam on them making such products too expensive for average Nigerian compare to locally manufactured once.

Adindupeter: "Nigerian currency for over 30 years. In 1980 what
was the exchange rate? It was between 50 and 60
kobo to the U.S. Dollar. When SAP was introduced
it was N4.2 to a dollar in 1986".

Look what our past leaders (Northern Generals) did to my beloved country. And a general from the 80's want to rule us again. I don't like the idea of devaluing currency but do it if it's necessary..
Who led the country before 1986, was it the south?
PoliticsEbola: FG Commences Pre-clinical Studies Of Drugs' Claims by Eldavido1(op): 9:52pm On Aug 17, 2014
By Paul Obi
Following the failure of Nano Silver Experimental Drugs to sail through screening by the National Health Research Ethics Committee, the Federal Government is now to commence pre-clinical studies of drugs' claims.
Co-Chairman of the Treatment Research Group Committee on Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), Prof. Karniyus Gamaniel told THISDAY that the new trials and studies will bridge the gap caused by the failure of the Nano Silver drugs.
Speaking on the way forward, going by the Nano Silver flip - flop, he said "we are actually working hard to bridge the gap."
Gamaniel, who is also the Director General of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD, informed THISDAY that "we are commencing the examination of pre-clinical studies of some low hanging drugs (trial drugs closed to being used by humans)."
"Doing the pre-clinical studies will enable the administration of the drugs on humans" as part of treatment for Ebola virus.
The move came as the Governor of Enugu State, Governor Sullivan Chime Sunday said the state is free of Ebola virus.

trully101: Mr Minister why is the persons name a secret? Abi una don dey lie again?
just to prevent stigmatization. None of the patients name has been revealed apart from Sawyer. The name of the nurse that died was revealed because she was dead already. While that of Dr Adadevor was reveal by social media. And if she ever recover I wonder the kind of stigma she will face. nobody would want to touch her, not if their life depend on it.
PoliticsRe: FG Denies Conflicting Reports On Discharged Ebola Patient by Eldavido1(op): 9:40pm On Aug 17, 2014
trully101: Why are they keeping it a secret?
By the time the name of the patient is reveal, you won't believe the level of stigmatization that will follow. Nigerians so much believe in superstitions, nobody would want to touch that Doctor with a long stick. It's safer her identity is kept secret. its for her own good.

PoliticsFG Denies Conflicting Reports On Discharged Ebola Patient by Eldavido1(op): 9:22pm On Aug 17, 2014
By Paul Obi
The federal government Sunday in Abuja denied media reports miscontruing a female doctor discharged and declared free from the Ebola virus to another medical doctor, Dr Adadevor.
According to a statement by the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu and signed by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Dan Nwomeh, the government said the misconception and error mistook the female doctor for Adadevor.
Nwomeh in the statement said "it has been brought to the attention of the Honourable Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu that the first Nigerian to be diagnosed of Ebola Virus Disease, a female doctor who treated the index case and who was discharged home from the ward yesterday, is being reported in some section of the media to be one Dr. Adadevor."
"The Honourable Minister wishes to clarify that the name of the patient is not Dr. Adadevor. This should be noted. The minister's statement yesterday while indicating that it was a female doctor did not indicate the name of the patient," the statement said.

PoliticsRe: Ribadu Returns APC Membership Card, To Begin PDP Campaign Monday by Eldavido1: 4:30pm On Aug 17, 2014
LordVarys: Replacing Tukur with Muazu was the football equivalent of replacing Ameobi with Suarez, a top APC Chieftain once joked that APC should have gone to court to stop his emergence as chairman........his appointment as party chair was the smartest political decision GEJ ever made......his name rings aloud all over Abuja and come 2019 at this rate, it'll take a lot for Sambo or David Mark to best him to the presidency.....watch out for Ribadu though and Gombe governor Dankwambo who is performing very well albeit silently.
come 2019 it will be the turn of either the north east or north central. The north east has never produce the number one man since the days of tafawa balewa. The candidates that stand a better chance are:
Nuhu ribadu given he has once contested the position
David Mark
Muazu the game changer

A recipe for him getting impeach just like Nyako

Foreign newspapers not carrying the news is not enough excuse to discard it as baseless. Goodnews coming from Africa has never being their priority. What I think maybe happening here is a case of mix up identity, because only Vanguard gave name to the patient. The first release by Vanguard was without name but the second has a name attached. Probably the got their infor wrong. But definitely someone was discharge because I can't see what the minister of health stand to gain in lying. Nobody was expecting him to perform miracle in the first place. And mark you he said there are about five more people improving from the infection which is not strange giving that the disease only kills about 55% of does infected in the current epidemic.

Is a case of mix up In name? cause someone was discharge from isolation yesterday as confirm by the Minister of health, though he did not specify who. Only Vanguard gave the name of the person as Dr Ameyo Adadevoh. Probably there are more than one doctors involved in the Isolation process.
