Obinoscopy:
Hi,

I noticed that there was a numbering discrepancy in Zechariah Chapter 4 in the Good News Bible. Specifically, I noticed that after verse 5 it goes straight to verse 10b. Then after verse 14 it goes back to verse 6.

I also noticed that this discrepancy is not in other Bible versions. However I noticed that message in Chapter 4 seemed more easier to understand in the Good News Bible than other versions due to this rearrangement of the verses.

Can anyone explain the reason for the arrangement? And the reason why other Bible versions chose not to rearrange?
One need to check the transcript to confirm of there is rearrangement of verses

PoliticsBREAKING: Turaki Break Silence On Stepping Down From Presidential Race by ElectroLyte(op): 7:58pm On Oct 06, 2018
https://kabirutanimuturaki.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/ktt-osun1.jpg

BREAKING: TURAKI VERY MUCH IN THE RACE FOR PDP PRESIDENTIAL MANDATE

The attention of the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki Presidential Campaign Organization has been drawn to a spurious, misguided and satanic impression being created that he has stepped down for one of the Aspirants in the PDP Presidential primary at the party’s national convention.
Let it be known LOUD and CLEAR: Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, HAS NOT STEPPED DOWN, HAS MO INTENTION TO STEP DOWN and WILL NEVER STEP DOWN FOR ANY OTHER ASPIRANT, MOT IN THE LEAST, BIRDS OF PASSAGE in the PDP.
It is sad that such a cruel impression was being created at the eleventh hour of the party’s national convention by unscrupulous personalities and their ilks who are showing a desperation never known to the party in recent times.

Turaki has so far run a decent campaign which even the party’s National Organizing Secretary, Colonel Akobundu acknowledged publicly when his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms were returned to the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

It was this decency that propelled Turaki to refer to his co-Aspirant and Senate President, Bukola Saraki as his brother who shared(?) the same edifying values and passion for Nigeria’s greatness with him when Turaki went on his consultation to Kwara State. His position was borne out of Turaki’s close relationship with Bukola’s late father, “Okoye” Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki.

It was this honest and innocent remark to honour a respected late leader that was now being dubiously manipulated again (this is the second or third time) by discredited people to undermine Turaki.
Turaki remains the Aspirant to beat, that probably accounted for why arrows are being fired against his aspiration. Luckily, his integrity, credibility, knowledge, intellectual, experience, competence and dynamism had never been questioned.

These are the attributes that had made Former Nigerian leaders- Dr. Olusegun Obasanjo, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to acknowledge Turaki’s capacity to hold the office which they once held, more so in this era of knowledge-driven governance.
Besides, elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark and the leaders of the Afenifere and the Middle Belt Forum never hid their admiration for Turaki when he was invited to address them.

In fact, there were open endorsements by some governors and most of the state executive committees, elders and delegates visited by Turaki’s campaign team in the course of his nationwide consultations.

Added to these was the open declaration by many state secretariats of the party visited that It WAS TIME TO REWARD TURAKI FOR HIS LOYALTY TO THE PDP. This was in reference to Turaki joining forces with few members using his resources and legal skill to rescue their party from ‘undertakers’ at a time when latter-day, desperate bchampions of the party jumped ship and even ensure that the PDP was decimated in the 2015 general elections with the ultimate aim of killing the party.
How do you expect such a high-profile, decent and visionary person quit a race in which he has the opportunity to greatly redeem the image of the party and attend to the yearnings of Nigerians given his competence?

In spite of his service and loyalty to the party, Turaki has been humble enough unlike his detractors not to campaign against those who once tried to destroy the soul of PDP.
May be there is wisdom after all in the position of some of the resilient members who later became Presidential Aspirants that those who once tried to destroy the party should not be allowed to harvest where they did not sow to the extent of trying to destroy the common ‘farm’ ( the PDP).
They have argued that rewarding disloyalty or perfidy may turn out to be the party’s ‘Archilles Heels’.
Time will certainly tell.

PoliticsVeteran Journalist Warns Of Danger Ahead For Pdp - Ojeifo by ElectroLyte(op): 11:20am On Oct 06, 2018
VETERAN JOURNALIST WARNS OF DANGER AHEAD FOR PDP

Whereas, former Lagos governor, Bola Tinubu, who led the effort to realise the candidature of Buhari on the massive opposition APC platform, did not consider friendship, because what was at stake was much more than what friendship could deliver, Governor Wike has committed an egregious strategic blunder by allowing his interest in friendship to preponderate his political decision and exertions on the choice of PDP’s presidential candidate.

Pushing through his preference in the in-your-face-manner with which he is rambunctiously promoting and selling the aspiration of Tambuwal may be counterproductive to the party. Regardless of misgivings about his preference, he seems to have crossed the Rubicon on the matter. Therefore, his possible success at intimidating, harassing and heavily inducing some of his governor-colleagues and delegates in order to swing the majority votes to Tambuwal may produce off-putting reactions within the party. Besides, it may produce some ricocheting negative effects on the external outlook of the party especially in the presidential election.

The point being made here is that whereas it was not difficult to rally other aspirants behind Buhari’s candidature in 2015 given his charisma, gravitas and the cult-like support he enjoyed and still enjoys in the core north, Wike should have been true to himself in assessing the capacity of Tambuwal’s persona and politics to galvanise and unite behind him the other aspirants if he emerges as the candidate. Will the other aspirants, given the evident hands of Wike in the process, find it convenient to accept Tambuwal’s candidature? Besides, is there a repository of cultic followers in the core north, not to talk of the south where he is hardly known, that Tambuwal can leverage on to defeat Buhari 2019?

Will the PDP allow one man’s desperation, to impose his friend as candidate, to endanger its members’ collective interest? Much as a vast majority of PDP leaders are desirous to see Buhari defeated in the 2019 election so they can have a reprieve from their current travails in the hands of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over their involvement in the handling of the 2015 PDP campaign funds allegedly sourced from public treasury, that desire may come to naught if they fail to redirect the party on the right trajectory to ensure the emergence of the best candidate for the 2019 presidential battle.

The Tambuwal persona, in the event Wike succeeds in foisting his candidature on the party, cannot arguably engender the collective acquiescence by others in his support because the justifications are simply and evidently weak. There must be some strong reasons that would bring about such consensual support just as the Buhari candidature witnessed in the 2015 election. Tambuwal is not sure-footed about the presidency. The presidential race is not a game of chance as the Sokoto state governor’s attitude is said to have shown.

A grapevine said that besides throwing his hat in the race for the party’s presidential ticket, his proxies are purportedly holding in trust for him the governorship and senatorial tickets in his state as fallback positions. It means that Tambuwal does not even have the savvy to put his eggs in one basket in the race for the presidency. It is left for the PDP leaders and delegates to decide if he approximates their ideal presidential candidate.

Conversely, it is believed that a majority of the presidential aspirants will not find it difficult to support Atiku on account of his capacity, age, experience, respect, nationwide structure and acceptability, commitment to restructuring which the southern part of the country is enamoured of and the possible ramifications of power devolution that will make the central government unattractive moving towards the 2023 presidential election if he becomes president in 2019.

Should the PDP leaders and delegates fail to act in the overall interest of the party and they allow Wike to have his way, they may all be headed for a doomed presidential adventure. The fate of the PDP in the forthcoming presidential battle should not be left for Wike to decide. First, he does not have the political savoir-faire, the kind that Tinubu deployed in the emergence of Buhari at the APC presidential primary election in Lagos in 2014.

Second, he does not have the calmness and subtlety to engage with stakeholders nationwide in dispassionate consultations and mobilisation, except that his sense of political pride and invincibility is largely sustained by the massive financial resources at the disposal of the state under his superintendence. That is what defines him.

Indeed, there is nothing in the books that says that Wike must always have his way as he did with the imposition of Uche Secondus, his friend, as national chairman of the PDP at the expense of the south west zone to which the position was originally ceded. The PDP leaders and delegates owe it a duty to themselves and their party members to do their due diligence and speak emphatically with their votes in the presidential primary election in support of the best of the aspirants.

Nigeria's Democracy Must Not Fail, Turaki Warns

Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has expressed utmost confidence in the ability of a frontline PDP presidential aspirant, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, to perform creditably if given the chance by Providence to be the country’s president in 2019.

The former president was speaking in his office in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State this weekend when Turaki who was visiting his 36th state, led his campaign team to brief the former leader on his nationwide consultations with PDP governors, state working committees and other leaders as well as delegates ahead of the party’s presidential primary.

Dr. Jonathan noted that he and other leaders have been consulting on how to ensure the emergence of a highly competent and credible presidential candidate based on crucial criteria including whether the person is sufficiently exposed; whether the person is a bigot or has an extremist tendency and whether the person has the capacity to manage Nigeria’s complexities or its resources well.

“We are looking beyond education,” he said, noting that “whenever your name (Turaki’s) comes up, there had been no doubts created about you on any of the criteria unlike in some others.”

In what could be termed as a testimonial on Turaki who served as Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs and also as Supervising Minister of Labour and Productivity under him, the former president said that the visit provided an opportunity to thank Turaki for supporting him with qualitative performance while in office.

Dr. Jonathan enjoined those seeking leadership positions to endeavour to make sacrifices for the wellbeing of future generations.

Governor Seriake Dickson had earlier at a meeting with the campaign team at the Government House council chambers did what he said he had never done by calling for a standing ovation for Turaki who, the governor described as “the foremost presidential aspirant, a good Nigerian and a great Bayelsan.”

The governor said: “All have seen and heard you (referring to members of the state house of assembly and the cabinet in attendance),” adding: ” there is no doubt in their minds as to your comparative suitability for the job (of president).

“The country needs a leader with vision, competence, capacity and who is digital, detribalized and a bridge builder,” the governor added.

He said further: “We are tired of a riotous Nigeria. We say NO to those who limit the Nigerian Dream by way of religion, ethnic, state or regional enclave.”

Governor Dickson also pointed out that the the 2019 presidential election will be a referendum on restructuring.

Turaki who had enumerated his priority agenda as including the tackling of security challenges; revitalizing the economy and creating enabling environment for employment generation; fighting corruption and promoting the rule of law stressed that he will “ensure that Nigeria is restructured to enthrone justice, equity and fairness.”

He stressed further that he has the vision, knowledge, capacity and competence to provide the critical and strategic thinking necessary for addressing Nigeria’s multifarious problems. “I stand before you as the best of the best (of all the aspirants),” Turaki said.

During Turaki’s interaction with the delegates, the chairman, Bayelsa State PDP, Hon. Moses Cleopas assured the aspirant that they were convinced about his promises.

“There is no shaking for you … Among those we have interacted or interfaced with, I believe that you are the most brilliant,” the chairman assured Turaki.

Politics2019: Why I Endorsed Kabiru Tanimu Turaki’s For President – Babangida by ElectroLyte(op): 9:52pm On Oct 05, 2018
Former Nigeria Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has disclosed that he his endorsing a former Minister for Special Duties during the Administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, as the right aspirant for president come 2019 because of his agenda in ensuring Nigeria’s unity.

While throwing his weight behind the Peoples Democratic Party aspirant, Babangida said: “Your agenda is capable of redeeming Nigeria.”
Babangida gave this assertion on Tuesday when he played host to the PDP presidential aspirant at his uphill residence in Minna, Niger State that Nigeria’s Unity must not be compromised.

According to him: “I am endorsing you because your road map can lead Nigeria to prosperity. “We are taught in the Military that the unity of Nigeria must not be compromised. “The programmes in your agenda are capable of transforming Nigeria. “From your agenda, I believe you mean well for this country.
“I think if you are given the chance, Nigeria will witness tremendous development.” Babangida further disclosed that the unity of Nigeria is to be held above all other issues, adding: “Nigeria has never been so divided.” Babangida, however, warned: “Even though I have adopted you and you emerge as the president, I will follow you up so that if you derail, I will remind you of your promises.”

In his earlier remarks, Turaki, who was on a sensitisation visit to PDP stakeholders in Niger State, assured that he will tackle insecurity, the decline in national security, worsening economy as well as increasing unemployment among the youths when he emerges as president.
Accordingly, he said: “If voted into power, I will implement policies and programmes that will bring smiles to the faces of Nigerians.
“I have all that is needed to improve the country.”

Addressing stakeholders at the State PDP Secretariat, Turaki lamented that insecurity was increasing in the country, submitting also that not less than 22 out of the 36 states in the country were under one form of insecurity or the other.
He blamed the escalating insecurity on unnecessary rivalry among the security chiefs, adding that if he were to be the president he would have sacked all the security chiefs.

**KEY REASONS WHY PDP DELEGATES SHOULD VOTE FOR KTT AS THE PDP PRESIDENTIAL STANDARD BEARER**

PDP delegates are undoubtedly and arguably the most discerning and democratic delegates in the contemporary Nigerian political parties. They are known for their intelligent decision-making, high degree of responsibility, integrity, patriotism and loyalty to the party. The delegates are conscious of the fact that aspirants may want to crave for their support through financial inducements or otherwise. However, that has never motivated them to deviate from insisting on more elevating values when they vote. They always vote for aspirants who have unquestionable track record, character, competence and above all, loyalty to the party while also having the capacity to move the country forward. This is why KTT stands the chance of having the people’s mandate. His flawless track record and outstanding party loyalty are flawless.

Below are KEY REASONS why KTT remains the best candidate to be voted for by the delegates in the presidential primary election:

DISTINGUISHED BACKGROUND AND SOUND HUMAN RELATIONSHIP
KT Turaki, a Lawyer from Kebbi State, was a former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs. He also served as a Supervising Minister of Labour and Employment.
He is currently the Chairman of the Forum of Former Ministers on the platform of the PDP. He is also the chairman of the North West caucus of PDP comprising elder statesmen. During the 2015 presidential election, he was the Deputy Director General of the party’s presidential campaign committee. Turaki is a young and vibrant politician who has the backing of many people in his aspiration for the nation’s presidency. He is seen by many as a core grassroots politician, who has built a lot of political bridges across the country. He is a well-educated and articulate politician, a bundle of intellect with a wealth of experience and vast knowledge of technical know-how.

A DEMOCRAT, SYMBOL OF HOPE AND OPTIMISM
At a recent media parley, Barrister Turaki, who recently embarked on consultative meetings to leaders and other members of the PDP across the country, stressed that his priority when he clinches the presidential ticket will be to protect the oneness of the country and the survival of the nation’s democracy. According to him, “my chances are very bright to pick the PDP presidential ticket. I am a bridge builder, well educated and I am not fighting anybody. I also do not have any extra baggage. In all the positions that I had served, I have excelled.” The former Minister of Special Duties made it clear that the indivisibility of Nigeria and survival of Nigeria’s democracy would be of utmost priority and concern to him if elected President. KT Turaki is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria with the requisite capacity to protect the country’s constitution and promote the rule of law.

INTEGRITY AND RELIABILITY
Another important quality of KT Turaki is his time-tested integrity. The aspirant possesses consistency of action as well as unquestionable reliability and dependability. Having integrity means a person is honest, trustworthy, reliable, loyal and honorable. To be a leader you must possess these priceless traits so that you are able to lead fairly and justly. KT Turaki symbolizes these attributes.

*TESTED AND TRUSTED *
Without integrity and a good set of core values, how can we be able to trust our leaders? It will be unwise for our great party to give the ticket to an aspirant who they have tested but not trusted. KT Turaki has proven to be a ready and astute servant of his people. He’s an activist with strong record of activism for the underprivileged. He is tested and trusted.

RESPONSIBILITY AND LOYALTY
If party loyalty and responsibility is what is what is required, KT Turaki deserves to be rewarded for his unalloyed service to the party. He stood by the party during its hard times and strove hard to resuscitate the party during its most challenging time. His responsibility and loyalty has kept him in the party and prevented him from defecting from one political party to another in order to preserve and promote the interest of the party above selfish interest.

DECISIVE, CONFIDENT, SELFLESS AND A TEAM PLAYER
KT Turaki is very confident and decisive. He is a great listener and a team player who is ready to take responsibility for his actions. These are indicators of strength of character of a person who is a sure footed leader. He also has the courage to take decisions in the best interest of the people and the nation.

*QUINTESSENTIAL AND PERCEPTIVE LEADERSHIP *
PDP needs to present to the electorate a candidate who will truly represent all the people — both the underprivileged and the privileged class. A candidate like KT Turaki has the prospect of striving to do well for everyone. Party loyalists at all levels must have the feel that their candidate is looking out for their best interests at all times, making judgments and decisions that will help them become better citizens and party members.

HIGHEST CHANCE OF WINNING
When others view money as the only factor needed to defeat the APC government, KT Turaki believes that Nigeria and Nigerians have come of age where the chances of his winning the general elections is most high with His unassailable integrity, honesty, bridge building capacity, diplomacy, dynamism, zeal, commitment, competence and exemplary public and private track record. Luckily, KT Turaki has enough of these attributes which are what Nigeria and its people need.

58TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY MESSAGE from frontline PDP Presidential Aspirant, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN

“ALL HOPE IS NOT LOST”

My dear compatriots,
Let us give gratitude to God for sparing our lives to witness our country’s 58th Independence Anniversary.

We give gratitude to Him for being alive because these are not the best of times for our nation which, ironically God has blessed with abundant and valuable human and natural resources beyond the comprehension of man yet, we are are suffering in the midst of plenty.

This is because our country has in the last few years been going through horrendous conflicts resulting in innumerable loss of lives, socio-economic hardships and flagrant erosion of human dignity.

Hopes have been dashed, promises unkept, trust betrayed, lies have been elevated to an art or as a state policy while opportunities have also been wasted and lines of division widened among the various ethnic groups.

To worsen the plight of the ordinary Nigerian, our political and indeed the electoral systems have been turned into a nightmare in recent times with the bold-faced ‘robbery’ of the Peoples’ mandate at every turn- no thanks to the TRUSTEE (government) of our collective fate.

Again, we must give gratitude to God that our revered judiciary that has been pummeled, harassed or intimidated by the custodian of our fate (government) has survived to play its constitutional role as the last hope of the oppressed.

All hope is not lost. All hope is not lost because God has given us another chance to turn our fortunes around for the better. This can only happen if we collectively commit to having a Godly and genuinely transformational leadership.

Let us not fail to seize this God-given opportunity as we embark on another process to elect a leader in February 2019 who will pilot the nation’s affairs for another four years.

Let us plan and work together and be vigilant in order not to allow God’s plan and purpose for our nation to be subverted.

Remember, united we stand, divided we fall. Also, eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.

God bless you all.
