NOTINVAIN01:2021... No gig. |
NOTINVAIN01:I've one. |
foxman04:My vote counted, but we didn't win because others bought votes. They're two different things, get it straight. |
IyaebeTheGreat:Lol. I don't think you know politics as much as I do but let's allow it slide. I did what i did because of my conscience. Don't tell me about the system, I know it, I study it. |
Admin, front page please. You can share your experience too... |
In the presidential elections, a few others and I were disenfranchised because of unit problems, I went to the polling unit by 7AM, I waited till 5PM but couldn't vote. INEC arrived by 2:30PM after choas that day, I went home tired and frustrated. Today, I wasn't in my polling unit, I took risk and traveled from my state capital to my location today. The road was so dry, Military everywhere, no public transport, I almost urinated in my cloths at the sight of armed forces men... I waited and luckily saw a bus, I ran to enter, we took a bush track... We were all scared, it wasn't easy this morning... I arrived my unit, my neighbor asked me if I'm voting PDP, I was shocked, this is someone we both agreed to vote YPP, because he's a better candidate, she had been bought over with money... She directed me on what to do and who to meet to get my 5k there. I queued, voted and step aside. The police man was bribed, he gave party agents way to stand and look at the votes cast, if it's PDP, they take you to the backyard, write your name and account number, expect 5k while they give you 1k as initial thank you. I wasn't too shocked, this was the system... I wanted the money so badly, I was even laughed at... Coupled with my suffering today, plus during the presidentials everyone collected except me... Today, I can't boast of a thousand naira but I stood by grounds for the sake of equity and good conscience. PDP won the unit, with a wide margin.. I was vexed... I came back home, even posted on my WhatsApp, I'm being laughed at, and I began wondering when doing good turned to a thing of mockery now.... I pray God opens a way for me so I can keep closing my eyes when I see money like this, as a student, 6k is way too much in this economy... But we move. On God. This is me feeling fulfilled knowing I can criticize this governmet for the next four years with good conscience. PDP will win in Akwa Ibom State as usual, but it's trash. But I know they're people like me, God bless you. |
marlow1962:Is it even worth it? 😂 |

Valentine's day celebration is unnecessary. Read at your own discretion, my opinion isn't binding and doesn't necessarily need to sit well with you. I'm not saying this based on religious beliefs or otherwise, I traced the whole thing about Valentine's from etymology and all I have to say is, it's not worth any single celebration of what it is contemporarily. Because, the whole thing has been abused. Saint Valentine of Rome was martyred on February 14 in AD 269. The celebration anniversary known as Saint Valentine's Day, was established by Pope Gelasius I in AD 496 to be celebrated on February 14 in honour of the Christian martyr, that is why it's called "SAINT" Valentine. The day was rebranded in a later century to celebrate romantic love, yet, it never mentioned anti moral vices neither was it programed to be so, what happened? Even though I am to follow what the day is about in the Nigerian sense, it doesn't still make sense. Single out a day to profess love, visit a mall, probably exchange gifts, post with captions, "this is my val" and then lodge hotel, is that it? The whole noise making about Valentine's day doesn't get to me, it's a silly day if I may say, because I don't see any relationship between celebrating love and orgies. All of us know the truth about this day, last we checked, it's just a day to fornicate in disguise. People that celebrate valentine for what it is aren't up to 30%. Fornication can be done on a normal day aside 14 February too, what next? All of you should rest. Duok odudu!! Hello mature Nairalanders. How will you feel if your son is performing badly academically all because of masturbation addiction? Please if it touches your heart, you can sponsor and pay for people in this case. I will go choose them. Statistics shows that 80% of youths have at one time masturbate, some turned chronic masturbators. Those who didn't masturbate had sex early in life. Hitherto, there's nothing without side effects, masturbation addiction is bad. Being able to control it is grace itself. Don't start what you can't finish. "I'm 20, I choosed celibacy, I swore abstinence but I realized I couldn't control myself as I frequently suffered wet dreams. Then I started frolicking with masturbation and pornography till I became an addict, I can't do without it for a day, is it normal?" Hello!! How are you doing? This was a question asked by someone, he needs help. A greater precent of youths are in similar shoes but wouldn't speak up. The first edition of our YOUTHS INTERACTIVE SESSION is here. We will discuss everything you need to find out about sexual urges as a growing adult, masturbation, rape, abstinence, etc. Venue is WhatsApp group, there'll be an anonymous platform, you'll send your questions if you're shy, there'll be answers and advises. It's another day for you to know this. On the issue of the ongoing ASUU strike, I'll like you to know that ASUU is currently fighting for their pockets to the detriment of Nigerian students. "IF" the federal government has obliged to sign all necessary agreements and to increase salary and ASUU as a body still insists on payment of arrears salary then it is outrageous, inimical, and condescending to the good name of Nigerian students. ASUU once told Nigerian students to sacrifice even two years for the future and unborn generations, we've done that with our future, our house rents, our time, our resources. Why are they so greedy to forfeit and also sacrifice as well? Pay them a salary for what? The one they worked for? The one they've been idle for the past six months? Who does that? If I were the key leader up to this particular negotiation stage, I tell you that the next step I would have taken would be woo, a sack will do. ASUU has deviated from its objectives. Whatever, I forgot it's a pressure group... All things are for their good, not for others. Government is corrupt, yes. Resources are being swindled, yes. Senators earn a large sum of monies, yes. But if you were opportune to be there, you would do worst, hypocrisy. Nigerian politics is open to everyone, there's level playing ground. A lecturer that isn't satisfied with teaching and wants to venture into partisan politics for money should do so, no qualms, no chaos. FG should fulfill all promises, sign all agreements and pay lecturers the amount they owed Before the strike. But you see that 6 months' salary? No, it shouldn't be paid. The economy is retrogressing and one greedy organization wouldn't be allowed to heighten things. Currently, ASUU as a body is deviating, selfish and greedy. This is dedicated to all good and RATIONAL Nigerian students.♥️ Please share or repost. Coined from Facebook. 19/08/2022. © Elisha Thompson.

ZIMDRILL:What you said sums up everything, but, will you be happy to hear your child say he/she owes you nothing? ![]() Put yourself in the shoes. Life is a chain, someone gave birth to your parents, they did you, you'll do another, another will do another... And so on.... Parents are for children when they've Nothing, when children turn something and have something, parents becomes the children's responsibility. |
emmaodet:Sir, seems you're trying to justify reasons why parents with no financial stability should keep breeding children. 5 good children when you know you earn less than 100K a month in this economy? Who does that? Comon, this is logic. Children must not suffer to receive sense, I'm not suffering, I wasn't suffering, I'll not stuffer. I only lack essential thing's at times. Suffering isn't wisdom. What you should say in this scenario you're trying to show is "proper home training." Parents should train up children in a good way. Giving birth to a child just to expose him to suffering to get sense and wisdom is insensitive please... Give him proper home training. This is what I believe. |
emmaodet:Hello Sir. I've Heard you, I understand the angle you're coming from, however, I disagree with your last paragraph. Are you taking a look at the nation's economy? 23 years you said? Is it a 23 year old that is still in 200L because of ASUU and JAMB delay? Is it a 23 year old that's struggling to read, finish off, graduate, get a job and move on with his life? We are not talking about irresponsible human beings here like the ones you used for illustrations. When we talk of taking care of an average Nigerian child, you should take your mind to what Nigerians address as "Trenches." With the sum of money you mentioned in your thread, someone like me haven't seen one quarter of it yet and is seriously looking for who to push me ahead to complete my law degree. I totally understand you, howbeit, you're wrong to an extent Sir. The thread isn't about pampering children but taking care of them, supporting them and helping them. Do you know with the current ASUU strike, I opted for a state university but because I can't afford it I have to settle for a federal brouhaha. Do you know I sometimes read on empty stomachs with borrowed textbooks? My parents are trying well... Honestly. God bless them. However, the finances isn't enough.Your brother was over pampered, he's irresponsible and you shouldn't judge others by him. Even a logical 25 year old in school needs support. Pleaseee... Parents should stop fending for children when they graduate, go for NYSC and come back. If it's for business people, when they learn a trade and establish themselves... That's the way it is. |
Laslasticlala Seems this thread is an interesting one. Front page please.... Let's get more opinions. Please, tag laslasticlala. |
tensazangetsu20:To an extent, you owe them a lot. Life is a chain, they took care of you, when they're old, take care of them. They can't hustle anymore. Then, you'll give birth to children, same happens. The chain continues. |
Tommymoses:Exactly. |
It is another day for you to know parents owe their offsprings a lot. In the words of a singer, until they "stand strong", parents owe them a mighy edged sword. Two individuals decided to start a relationship, get married, have sex and bring forth children. What was the plan? To come tell the kids in a few years that they should find their way? They're grown? As an offspring, your parent owe you a lot, they owe you education, they owe you an average lifestyle, don't be ashamed because you're still under your parents roof and feeding from them? Where are we supposed to get all these from? Our ass? You also owe parents a lot when you stand strong, at the end, it's a win win for everybody. Both parents and offsprings. Don't follow social media standards, they said you're 25 and living with your parents, a shame. Standards? Who set the standards? Article Credit-- Elisha Thompson.
