EducationRe: Top 10 Worst Degrees With Lowest Potential For Employment In Nigeria Today by Elizabethoni(f): 12:52am On Jan 03, 2015
kristein:
of recent...about a couple of days ago..I basically made a write up of the best top 10 courses and hot cake in nigeria as at today..

but I have finally,come up with another write up of the top 10 worst degrees with lowest potential for employment in nigeria as at today

certainly,there is no degree that guarantees one job in & by itself however given the current economic situation and the fast pace of economic and technological shift in the continent and nigeria in particular there are degrees you would be better off not investing your time and resources to acquire as opportunities affected in those areas are increasingly getting eroded...if however you have a degree in any of them and finding it tough to make career headway it's time to put on your thinking cap
1 General Arts;
this cover anything from art history to painting/sculpture in the western world and developed countries having a degree in the arts could fetch one decent job opportunities several years ago..after the depression however with many european economic still sttuggling to recover it's becoming increasingly tough to find opportunities for majors in such areas like archeology,painting/fine art,history et cetera.

the opportunities for these sort of degrees are shrinking and people with the academic credentials thinking to get themselves a job in related field would have to do a cot of innovative and pro active thinking.
career counsellors advise those who want to study such things as art,dance,and music to have a specific strategy...sometimes a way out could be getting a higher degree(such as masters).

2 Humanities and liberal Arts;
if you love sitting and thinking about the intricacies of life and expounding on theories of existence or analysing political theories and events there may not be enough opportunities to do that in real life with your philosophy or political science degree to earn good money..
Humanities and liberal Art degree courses like Anthropology,political science,philosophy and many more do not give the graduates who passes them specific in road into the employement market..unlike professional courses like engineering,and the business field having a degree in any of the humanities may not really point one to a specific career direction.

3 Education;
unless you are willing to take higher degrees and pursue teaching opportunities at higher levels of the education ladder having an education degree is hardly going to get you the best jobs.
the only ways a graduate degree holder in education will do better is either to go for higher qualification and try to break into higher level teaching or do a career switch entirely and go for higher qualification in a different field that has more career prospects.

4 Religious studies;
Given the way churches and self styled pastors are springing up in every nook and cranny it should appear that splurging money on a religious studies degree will present the holder with bright prospects...however nothing can be further from the truth..except you are willing to plunge in and open your own church down the street,becoming a quran clutching preacher et cetera...there are hardly any existing opportunities for you to explore if you have a religiouss studies degree and wish to exploit opportunities there in.

5 Mass communication;
In considering mass communication we had a struggle with choosing a few other courses ahead of mass communication but at the end the argument was too much against mass communication degree.
the increasing introduction of media technology is eating away at the former strongholds of mass communication graduates..reporters and journalist find the rug being gradually pulled of their feet as bloggers and writers who hitherto knew nothing about mass communication.

take over the business of news discovering and sharing newspaper and television are no longer holding the baton in exclusive control of the media business...for mass comm.majors who wish to find and pursue the right career day need to understand the change in mass media and communication tools and acquire the right skills.
other worst course are;
6 botany
7 social studies
8 english literature
9 zoology
10 forest and wildlife management(wonderwhat you wana do with these,mayb you will use the certificate for cutting of woods in the forest)
For ur info,Mass Communication is not just about newspaper and magazine; it iS broad...we have advertising,Public relations,journalism,Integrated Marketing Communication ,Book Publishing under mass comm...these fiels are very lucrative...I don't understand why this topic is on Frontpage when ur so ignorant and typing jargons...

PoliticsRe: IMF Lauds Sanusi, Okonjo-iweala For Strength Of Nigeria’s Economy In 2013 by Elizabethoni(f): 10:57am On Dec 09, 2013
kmariko: IMF lauds Sanusi, Okonjo-Iweala for strength of Nigeria’s economy in 2013
Posted by: The Citizen in Business, Headline 2 days ago December 6, 2013

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has declared that Nigeria’s economy performed well during 2013.
The IMF Mission Chief and Senior Resident Representative in Nigeria, Gene Leon, stated this during a visit to Nigeria between November 13 and 26 to conduct discussions for the 2013 Article IV consultation.
The mission met with the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi; senior government officials; members of the legislature; and representatives of the private sector with a verdict that Nigeria’s economy did very well during the year.

The Fund’s mission issued a statement at the conclusion of the visit, which reads in part: “Nigeria’s economy has continued to perform strongly in 2013. Real GDP grew by 6.8 percent in the third quarter of 2013 (compared to third quarter 2012), supported by robust performances in agriculture, services, and trade. Oil theft/production losses have adversely impacted export receipts and government revenues, leading to a significant drawdown from the Excess Crude Account. Inflation declined to 7.8 percent (end-September 2013) from 12 percent at end 2012, in part owing to lower food prices and monetary policy implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The exchange rate has been stable, and the banking sector is well capitalized with low levels of non-performing loans.
“Although the outlook is positive, risks need to be managed. Growth is projected to increase to about 7 percent in 2014, while inflation should remain subdued in the single digits. Nigeria could be affected, however, by a decline in oil prices, the pace of recovery in global economic and financial conditions, capital outflows, continued losses in oil production, or increased security concerns. At the same time, the economy can manage such shocks given a relatively flexible exchange rate regime, improved financial crisis management capacity, and a stable banking system. But fiscal buffers are low and a sustained high rate of growth is needed to reduce unemployment, and poverty.
“Fiscal consolidation is progressing well, and the momentum needs to be preserved through the ongoing election cycle. Key public financial management reforms are underway, including the implementation of a Treasury Single Account (TSA) and integrated information management systems, but lower-than-budgeted oil revenues are impacting budgetary plans at Federal, State, and Local levels and highlighting the need for rebuilding fiscal buffers to manage oil revenue volatility. Moving toward a sustainable non-oil primary deficit path will require resolve in continuing fiscal consolidation, including through resisting procyclical election spending, mobilizing non-oil revenue, improving efficiency in the public sector, and strengthening transparency in oil sector governance.

“The current monetary stance is appropriate and should remain geared towards sustaining low inflation and a stable financial system. Managing liquidity in the banking system remains a priority, and will be aided by the implementation of the TSA and prudent fiscal management. Likewise, the CBN has maintained stability of the naira, containing inflation and facilitating business confidence. However, the continued importance of oil receipts and the magnitude of portfolio follows present potential vulnerabilities, and exchange rate flexibility may be a useful tool in the event of persistent pressures. Ongoing initiatives to strengthen the supervisory framework, including supervision of banking groups, should continue, and Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria’s activities phased out gradually.
“To promote inclusive growth and mitigate the impact of vulnerabilities, ongoing structural and institutional reforms should be pursued resolutely. The 20/20 Vision and the Transformation Agenda provide a framework for ongoing reforms, including the privatization of the generation and distribution of energy, initiatives to increase food security and viability of agriculture, and programs funded through the Universal Basic Education Commission to improve human capital development.

In addition, access to financial services for small-and medium-size enterprises, which have been key in many countries to enabling all to benefit from growth, could be improved. Other initiatives to improve the business environment and investment promotion could support diversification across sectors, but should be underpinned mainly by improvements in productivity and competitiveness. Growth in the next decade will need to rely on the continued implementation of reforms to strengthen institutions, improve efficiency, and prioritize quality infrastructure investments.
“The mission would like to thank the authorities and technical staff for their excellent cooperation”, the statement added.
Egbami huh How is that? When dollars keeps rising high and food no plenty still for markethuh ...pls what is the yardstick they used to measure it o

mr.official:
We were coming from a show when I managed to take the picture as it was late night. I'll go back there early this morning to get more clear shots.

The accident involves one 7up company lorry and over 8 cars. Earlier on, there was an accident that involved a truck that fell, a tiny light Toyota camry, 2004-2006 Toyota camry and one other truck.

No life was lost! As I went back there in the morning, I saw the owner of the camry (tiny lights) who explained how everything happened that it was the 7up truck that caused it due to brake failure, around 10pm.

The other accident that happened in the afternoon just ahead (on the bridge) was said to have claimed lives. Decided not to upload the pictures before they start insulting me instead of talking about the solution to the accident which often happens around that part of the express.

Just so u know, I wasn't there when it happened.

HealthRe: Why The Fear Of Caesarean Section By Nigerian Women? by Elizabethoni(f): 5:23pm On Dec 06, 2013
ebner70: I seen midwives takin deliveries so many many times and have taken some a couple of times, trust me the sight is horrible and painful for husbands and mothers and the rate of women with botherline pelvis is gradually rising and also other indications for operative delivery. Many of this kids delivered by such mothers may end up with cerebral palsy, fractures and even some soft tissue injuries, sometimes death of baby plus or minus death of the mother. With CS, in less than 30 mins u have ur child and thankGod for spinal anaesthesia which can ensure the woman is awake all through there by no risk of aspiration.
Recently, Ȋ̝̊̅ saw a 13yr old girl with very small pelvis rejecting Cs and her relatives and husband supporting her until she developed VVF and also lost the baby.
Now my question is why do nigerian women always reject operative delivery even when it is very obvious they cn hv a normal delivery?
Our doctors are simply not RELIABLE!!!

ionaira: The Nigerian sports ministry has embarked on an operation to recruit hawkers who sell items on major roads across the country. The sports minister, Mr John Fadiora, said “This is something we should have done a long time ago, we have many people who sell things on the roads and they are always in motion, running up and down to sell their goods. Some of them even run faster than many cars, these are raw talents wasting away. The federal ministry of sports has decided to work with these hawkers, especially the ones that sell gala sausage rolls, they run like sport cars. One of them chased me from Oshodi to my house in Victoria Island one day because I forgot to pay him his money, what was really surprising was that he even got to my house before me even though I was driving.

miarmor: Can somebody please explain why most men still run after other ladies after marriage. Why do men find it difficult to stick with their wives no matter how beautiful or attractive she is? This is so pathetic.
I'm not trying to brag here but the truth is my hubby and I have been married for 2yrs now. Met him dec 2010 nd got married nov 2011 and ever since then I have not for once caught him or suspected any thing like him cheating even though I check his phones every now and then.

Its called DISCIPLINE and fear of GOD! No late nights, no clubbing,he'd rather drink his fav wine with me at home. Although we argue over other things and quickly settle oo but talking about him cheating he hasn't started yet and am I'm sure he won't if I continually play my role and always make him feel good when he's with me at home. So I believe there are still men out there who don't cheat on their wives.

And mind u,he has all the resources(financially and endowment) to cheat ! But he is not I bless God for that...
