It's possible, I thinks he needs glucose, maybe his sugar level is low. I know of someone with kidney problem that takes Fanta and he said the specialist(Doctor) recommends it because he need to boost his body glucose.

Thank you, some men are just so selfish, I'm sure the wife feel so threaten maybe her husband don't open up to her but to his friend. No woman wants to serve as second fiddle in a relationship. It happened to me too during my first year in marriage, I had to call him to order and let him know how would he feel if I dedicate so much time with my own friends too. Don't pay any attention to him, I'm sure most of the guys advising him to stick to his friend are surely or likely bachelors. This type of problem mostly occurs during the first two years in marriage when guys still act as if they can't be separated from their friends but when reality dawn on them(I.e having to provide for two to three kids+plus the wife and extended family) they adjust and start treating their wives as their number one family.
