Samtob90:
I have read series of comments and sarcastic reports on chibok saga, I personally pity the community and the parents and pray that the God will comfort and help them to rescue the girls.
However, I think it is necessary for the south to experience what the community experienced for them to value and appreciate human.
Go to the community, investigate before you conclude it was a scam
You can't in your rational state of mind wish the Southerners the menace plaguing the north because we have ours to contend with. More so, the Chibok girls saga is something the is/were yet to be ascertained if truly there were kidnapped school girls.
However, terrorism in the north is not the making of the people of the south. When the then chief of army staff Kenneth Minima carried out unslaught against the insurgent group, the Northern Elders Forum complained that Nigerian army were committing genocide against the north. Therefore, it is unarguable the fact that boko haram /chibok girls saga were all brainchild of the North..

This isn't the position of US govt. The US govt will not in any way try to detect for Nigeria how to spend her money rather, the claim is just the imagination of few Northern elements that wants the money used on development of North as against the collective interest of Nigerians.
Moreover, were the recovered funds looted by Northern states governors?

Recalling the arithmetical analysis carried out in 2012 when GEJ administration hiked the price of PMS, it is expected that people like Nasir El Rufai, Lai Mohammed, Dino Malaye, etc should advise PMB to reverse the price to N45 per litre knowing that he isn't good in mathematics.

I guess Prof. Pat Utomi deserves that treatment, because he wined and dined with Buhari before he fell out the pecking order. I guess the FG decided to melt out such treatment to him because he had been spitting negative comment to Buhari govt since there were speculation in all quarters especially the media that he will be made a minister by Buhari before the Ministerial nominees comes out. Everyone were shocked when finally FG released the names and sent to senate. Prof. Pat Utomi was equally shocked and so disappointment to know that his names was not included, since then he has been bashing the govt negatively. I am sure if he has been included in the Buhari cabinet he won't say negative stuff about the govt. Since then he has not seen anything good in the govt. I guess that's why the Presidency stopped his speech because they knew he is there to bring down the govt negatively as usual with his mouth mainly because he is ever bitter since he was not made to be a minister in the same govt. But as for Ex-Gov. Ezeife, I really don't know his offence though.
Correction! Prof. Pat Utomi doesn't say negative about Buhari's led FG but he says the negative things about Buhari's led FG

You have got to be kidding me! Ojukwu cannot be honoured as a hero in his own state and among his people because the Presidency feels insecure? Or is that the dull interpretation you can muster for a deliberate muzzling of one's rights?

When did it become the role of the FG to decide what part of history would be told and what other to be avoided and erased? I honestly credited you with some fair level of intelligence but you have floored me completely with proof to the contrary!

You would have been better off addressing the contents of the news even if with that mess u just typed in ur first and second paragraphs but no, u had to predictably attack the personality and business of the people you love to hate, that's where you classify them and their activities as shiit.

As for stirring those who hate u against you, that's all on u man...u do a good job of that every time u comment on political and ethnic issues. I'll give u free advice though, it is okay to support or believe in whatever u do but don't denigrate or put others down in the process, that's what makes u lose credibility. Personally, I don't think any sane person here has the energy to muster enough emotions to actually hate u, u simply don't have enough personality or 'presence' to actually command hate. When people express their negative feelings towards u it's more like disdain and irritation for a pesky fly that doesn't realise where it should be or how to conduct itself...

Again u credit urself with way too much importance, don't deceive urself into thinking anyone is 'following u around', you aren't worth it. This is a public forum, my comments are directed at you so I must quote u. It takes strength of character to take criticism without getting antagonistic or feeling threatened, something u and ur hero sorely lack and that's why he intimidates citizens with his DSS and u say stuff like ur last paragraph.

baby you are too much! You speaks and writes like me. Kudos!!

could be recalled that the peace truce that preceded the Agatu massacre was between Fulani and the

aforementioned ethnic extraction. So I question the rational and basis upon which JNI seeks to
exonerate the herdsmen from the crimes.

Politics / Sultan Of Sokoto Drops Bombshell; Backs Herdsmen Over Enugu, Agatu Attacks by ellovee(m): 5:40pm On May 01, 2016
An organisation led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, has described as “absurd” and
“unfortunate” the widespread insinuation that Fulani herdsmen are responsible for the attacks on
villagers in Benue, Enugu, Nasarawa and other parts of the country.
The Jama’atu Nasril Islam, JNI, a coalition of several Islamic groups in Nigeria, stated this on Sunday.
The Sultan is the head of the JNI.
In the statement, signed by Khalid Aliyu, the organisation’s secretary-general, the JNI said it was
shocked by the attacks.
“Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) received with great shock and deep concern the news of incessant killings
and maiming of innocent lives and the destruction of public and private properties.
“Of particular concern are the brutal murders of people in Agatu-Benue state, Nnibo-Enugu state and
some parts of Nasarawa state.
“It is indeed alarming that within few weeks, deadly attacks were reportedly unleashed while the
perpetrators go un-arrested. JNI therefore condemns in strong terms these repeated heinous attacks and
once again calls on the relevant security agencies to brace up to the trends, in order to put a stop to
this ugly tide, as human lives are sacred and must be seen to be treated as so,” the statement said.
The JNI said the attacks were criminal in nature and should be treated as such.
“The repeated heinous acts of attacks are crimes against the citizenry and the perpetrators are
therefore criminals and must be treated so.”
Foramfera
It, however, said the attacks were not carried out by Fulani herdsmen.
“It is indeed absurd and most unfortunate that certain groups or people ascribe the incidence on ethnic
and/or religious premise and to whimsically apportion blame in order to batter the gradual restoration of
peace and security in Nigeria,” it said.
The JNI, which commiserated with the victims of the attack, also called for “concerted introspection and
commitment by relevant agencies to take proactive and effective measures in addressing this pernicious
problem.”
Nigerians have condemned the attacks; and affected communities have blamed security agencies for not
protecting them against their attackers who they said were herdsmen. Many Nigerians have also blamed
President Muhammadu for not acting strongly enough to condemn the attacks and arrest the
perpetrators.
Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, who criticised the presidency’s response, stated that “I have yet to hear
this government articulate a firm policy of non-tolerance for the serial massacres that have become the
nation’s identification stamp.”
The JNI, however, said the authorities have absolved the herdsmen, mainly of Fulani ethnicity, of
involvement in the attacks. The JNI’s claim is contrary to that of a leader of the Fulani herdsmen who
admitted to PREMIUM TIMES that they carried out the attack in Benue as a retaliation to the

Politics / Re: The Coup Speech That Overthrew Buhari On August 27, 1985… by ellovee(m): 10:26am On May 01, 2016
cogbuagu:
I, Brigadier Joshua Nimyel Dogonyaro, of the Nigerian Army, hereby make the following declaration on behalf of my colleagues and members of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Fellow country men, the intervention of the military at the end of 1983 was welcomed by the nation with unprecedented enthusiasm. Nigerians were unified in accepting the intervention and looked forward hopefully to progressive changes for the better. Almost two years later, it has become clear that the fulfillment of expectations is not forthcoming.

Because this generation of Nigerians and indeed future generations have no other country but Nigeria, we could not stay passive and watch a small group of individuals misuse power to the detriment of our national aspirations and interest.

No nation can ever achieve meaningful strides in its development where there is an absence of cohesion in the hierarchy of government; where it has become clear that positive action by the policy makers is hindered because as a body it lacks a unity of purpose.

It is evident that the nation would be endangered with the risk of continuous misdirection. We are presently confronted with that danger. In such a situation, if action can be taken to arrest further damage, it should and must be taken. This is precisely what we have done.

The Nigerian public has been made to believe that the slow pace of action of the Federal Government headed by Major-General Muhammadu Buhari was due to the enormity of the problems left by the last civilian administration.

Although it is true that a lot of problems were left behind by the last civilian government, the real reason, however, for the very slow pace of action is due to lack of unanimity of purpose among the ruling body; subsequently, the business of governance has gradually been subjected to ill-motivated power play considerations. The ruling body, the Supreme Military Council, has, therefore, progressively been made redundant by the actions of a select few members charged with the day-to-day implementation of the SMC’s policies and decision.

The concept of collective leadership has been substituted by stubborn and illadvised unilateral actions, thereby destroying the principles upon which the government came to power. Any effort made to advise the leadership, met with stubborn resistance and was viewed as a challenge to authority or disloyalty.

Thus, the scene was being set for systematic elimination of what, was termed oppositions . All the energies of the rulership were directed at this imaginary opposition rather than to effective leadership.

The result of this misdirected effort is now very evident in the country as a whole. The government has started to drift. The economy does not seem to be getting any better as we witness daily increased inflation.

The nation’s meager resources are once again being wasted on unproductive ventures. Government has distanced itself from the people and the yearnings and aspirations of the people as constantly reflected in the media have been ignored.

This is because a few people have arrogated to themselves the right to make the decisions for the larger part of the ruling body. All these events have shown that the present composition of our country’s leadership cannot, therefore, justify its continued occupation of that position.

Furthermore, the initial objectives and programmes of action which were meant to have been implemented since the ascension to power of the Buhari Administration in January 1984 have been betrayed and discarded. The present state of uncertainty and stagnation cannot be permitted to degenerate into suppression and retrogression.

We feel duty bound to use the resources and means at our disposal to restore hope in the minds of Nigerians and renew aspirations for a better future. We are no prophets of doom for our beloved country, Nigeria. We, therefore, count on everyone’s cooperation and assistance.

I appeal to you, fellow countrymen, particularly my colleagues in arms to refrain from any act that will lead to unnecessary violence and bloodshed among us. Rest assured that our action is in the interest of the nation and the armed forces.

In order to enable a new order to be introduced, the following bodies are dissolved forthwith pending further announcements: (a) The Supreme Military Council (b) The Federal Executive Council (c) The National Council of States. All seaports and airports are closed, all borders remain closed.

Finally, a dusk to dawn curfew is hereby imposed in Lagos and all state capitals until further notice. All military commanders will ensure effective maintenance of law and order. Further announcements will be made in due course. God bless Nigeria.
