obasy09:
Hello My people. Apology for being away for long. Fiverr do me strong thing na him. Fiverr has banned academic writing on its platform. All my gigs were deleted. As one door closes, another one opens. Now I am working with another company. In fact, I am made the CEO. I will be using this platform to train people that may be interested in working for us. We already have experts in the house but due to growing demand, we need more hands (only the best hands) and the pay is good (not comparable to Fiverr o.) considering the Nigerian standard. the website is http://brilliantthesis.com . You can check it out and apply to be a writer if you are already a professional. May I ask that you may also help us to promote the website (at least that is the least that you could do having received training and guides free of charge here). Help my ministry i beg o my people. Thank you.

Great innovation...Good website design.

I was initially wondering when I posted about my gig being deleted and you did not say anything. Now I know we are in it together..
However, after my gig was deleted, I engaged support. They initially told me they could not do anything about it but I gave them several reasons why they can't just take down my gig. With the help of God and after lots of arguments here and there, I was allowed to modify the gig and it was restored. Though the title now reads something quite different and sales have gone down.

By the way, I wanted to apply as a writer on your website but could not find any link to do so.

Kindly help me out.

Thanks.

Is there anyone else that has experienced this?

My Academic writing Gig has been removed by Fiverr...

See the reason given below...

And there are still a whole lot of people with academic writing gigs on Fiverr. Why single me out?

In the few months the gig has been active, I already have 6 100% ratings and suddenly they just wipe it out.

Politics / Be Laughing While Nass Joke With Your Future - Ezekwesili To Nigerians by elmatino: 6:47pm On Mar 29, 2017
Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, on Thursday, took a swipe at young Nigerians for condoning, what she termed, the ‘comedies’ going on in the Senate.

The Nigerian Senate has recently been embroiled in several scandals, including an allegation that Senator Dino Melaye does not hold a first degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaira as claimed.

After several twists to the scandal resulting in an investigation by the Senate and a N5bn suit against Sahara reporters, ABU’s Vice Chancellor told the Senate Ethics Committee that Melaye graduated from the university with a Third Class in BA Geography.

Melaye had subsequently posted a comic video online in celebration. He also appeared at the Senate plenary dressed in an academic gown.

But, in several posts on her Twitter page, Ezekwesili wondered why Nigerians felt “entertained” by happenings in the Senate.

She said, “Be laughing while tragi-comedians that COST more than N100 Billion every year carry on at the @nassnigeria . Better FIGHT for your FUTURE

“The 8th @NGRSenate & @HouseNGR have done NOTHING for CITIZENS except PAY themselves FAT ALLOWANCES, engage in SCANDALS & produce COMEDIES.

“You are a young Nigerian &cannot see the wicked hand you are being dealt? You “entertained” by @NGRSenate @HouseNGR , I kuku sorry for YOU.

“Balance there and be laughing, tweeting & swaggering while the folks in @NGRSenate @HouseNGR joke daily with your future. Na YOU sabii #End.”

The #BringBackOurGirls advocate also questioned the lawmakers attitude to finding the schoolgirls abducted from Chibok by the Boko Haram insurgents.

She noted that lawmakers in the US and UK showed more “concern for abducted #ChibokGirls” than their Nigerian counterparts.

She said, “By the way, how much did @NGRSenate Say it paid for that famous Range Rover it bought for Senate President @bukolasaraki? In this POVERTY?

“Lawmakers in the US and United Kingdom have shown concern for abducted #ChibokGirls but not their own who are BUSY spending ALLOWANCES.

“Lawmakers in the US and United Kingdom have shown concern for abducted #ChibokGirls but not their own who are BUSY buying 1 car for >N200M.

“Lawmakers in the US & United Kingdom have shown concern for abducted #ChibokGirls but not theirs who are BUSY CARING FOR THEIR OWN COMFORT.

“219 school children were ABDUCTED in the country of our Lawmakers for nearly 3 years. When have you heard any REAL CONCERN from NASS?

“Some US Lawmakers hold a weekly advocacy for ChibokGirls. UK Parliament has held a # of Hearings on them. NASS? They’re BUSY…SHARING MONEY

“If even five out of the remaining 195 ChibokGirls were daughters of our ANNOYINGLY ENTITLED Lawmakers, do you think they’ll be NONCHALANT?”

Business / Re: Needed: Shared Office Space In Ibadan by elmatino: 3:40pm On Mar 14, 2017
I use Eccohub in Ibadan. They have different plans based on your budget.

Their address: 11, Okunola Abass Street , Off Oluyole Road, Favour bus stop, New Bodija, Ibadan

If this is not close to you, you can also find others around you. I know of ibridge hub and wennovation hub in Ibadan.

You can google them to find their address.

I hope this helped.

Please in setting up my fiverr account, where can I get pix to use for my gigs?

You can just find an image that is free to use without any attribution (Don't try downloading any picture on the internet because you will be breaching copyright laws and it can put you in trouble).

You can get free pictures on these sites - pixabay or compfight.

You can then use either coreldraw, photoshop or Microsoft paint to customize it by writing your username and a slogan that depicts the value in your services. This is what I did before I later added a video.

I hope that helped.

Avoid quote for academic writing? I am not understanding no more.

please is Turnitin a plagiarism checker or something?

In academic writing, if you have to lift a piece of writing word for word from a source (like a definition), you are allowed to do it but you must put such piece in quotation marks and also reference appropriately.

Turnitin is a plagiarism checker but will still recognize your quotes as if you plagiarized it but since you have put them in quotations, nobody can penalize you for plagiarism.

I will however advise that except very necessary, you should use the quotations only very rarely. All you need to do is rephrase whatever you want to use from another paper and you may not even need to use Turnitin or any plagiarism checker since you are sure of your methods.

I hope this helped.

Why i my finding it difficult to get past the tag phase, even after inputing atleast three tags. I just can not move to the next phase of my registration, is still saying tag list must contain atleast three tags.. Please what i my doing wrong here..

You probably aren't putting commas between each of the tag elements. If you don't put commas, it will see it as just one tag element. Separate each of your tags by a comma. I hope this helps

Testimony Time!!

Thanks obasy09 (Even though u no gree reply my mail)

I just had my first order. And it was through the Buyer's request section.

Take note that I have only responded with two offers in that area. The job is $100 which is great considering it my first order.

I have abandoned academic writing for years now but Obasy09 revived my interest with this thread and it is great to be seeing results so soon and I believe it is just the beginning.

Now I need to get to work.

Find below in case you are in doubt

As a resident of Nigeria, the only valid option is Payoneer. You can, however, ask trusted exchanger with US PayPal to help you. I Will recommend that you apply for your Payoneer and have it delivered to you free of charge. You only pay fees when you earn. Shalom.

I have registered and started scouting for jobs in BR. There however seems to be lil work available from there. I have been able to send only one offer so far cos others I found there are old. Is that the usual way or is it seasonal?

I sent you a mail. Still awaiting your reply. Be it a Yes or a No, Kindly reply.

Are people still following this thread? If yes, you may ask questions that bother you or seek clarifications on the information posted above. Thank you.

Thanks for the information thus far and for your responses to my questions earlier.

Please continue as I am following.

I am about creating my gig and will send u a link to it so you can just check it out - I am actually trying to do a video with videoscribe for the gig.

My question:
When you get a buyer through BR, do you direct them to order through your gig or you create a custom order based on your discussion with the client
Business / Re: Academic Writing- A Goldmine On Fiverr: Learn How I Made Over $3,000 In 5 Months by elmatino: 9:29pm On Jan 01, 2017
Some Questions

1. Considering that academic writing is dynamic with different clients having different demands, how do you set your rates in your gig that will be applicable to anyone placing an order

2. Considering how much you made in such a short period of time, did you outsource or you did everything yourself?

3. Did you make most of your sales from your gig or from the buyer's request section?

4. Do your clients contact you to confirm if you can complete a job before they make an order since your earlier advised that one should stick to areas where one has competencies? Or do they just make the order? Cos what if you realise that the subject area is not familiar to you after an order has been made.

Your honest and prompt response will be well appreciated.

Hello House.

thanks for all the info.

I am having a challenge and I dont know how to go about it.

In doing my niche research, I try to type a keyword into the kindle store search bar and it gives me results that contain only audio books when I am actually particularly interested in ebooks. When I search under Kindle ebooks, its tells me 0 results and brings other results that are not related to what I have searched for.

I dont know what I am doing wrong. Even when I find a book already and type the name in the search bar in kindle ebooks, it still tells me 0 results.

Can someone help me with this please

Career / Re: You're Unemployed, Broke And Frustrated. What Do You Do?... by elmatino: 9:24am On May 11, 2016
radragan:

First off, thanks for commenting and sharing your feedback. I appreciate it, because helps me create better content for people to read.

Second, the reason a lot of my content is presented the way it is, is because it's a test to see not only what people respond to, but how and how often. I'm looking to target a certain group of people on Nairaland (the kinds of people my business specifically caters to), so I create content that I believe will best draw them out. This doesn't mean I'm trying to avoid and ignore everyone else, and I admit I do struggle with trying to find the balance between the two.

But it's a learning process, and very little happens overnight. Some things just take time and I'll have to keep working and be patient.

Third, I write long-form to offer as much detail as possible. My goal is to reveal as much of my own insight and process as possible per post, and depending on the focus, it's hard to do that in a shorter piece because of the number of steps involved. But as I've said previously, it's all about figuring out and finding that balance, and that will take effort on my part.

Lastly, I have two questions:
1. Why do you think long form content doesn't help?
2. Which post was it that you read where I didn't follow through? I hate when I forget to follow up, so I want to fix that.

Thanks again for commenting! Be blessed! smiley

I have actually been following you and your topics. I personally do not find your posts too long but the points made about using bullets may assist in driving your points home better.

Something I noticed however is about your Start Build and Profit project. I realised you decided to ditch it. I was actually anticipating it but unfortunately you pulled the plug. You may not know but somehow your articles really resonate with me cos of the project I am also planning and I find your articles really helpful in that direction.

If you would not mind, I will love to reach out to you and send you a mail just to share my ideas with you. I believe your thoughts on my ideas will be well appreciated. I will therefore love to get your contact mail.

Also, I am just wondering what your interest in the Nigerian audience is all about cos I can see your business is in US if I am not mistaken. Do you have any roots or affiliations here?

Awaiting your response please.
