Its okay....You can tell the VO you applied to 2 schools,1 in the Uk and 1 in the US...Pls what school is that in the US and what dept?
khoray:
@fairheart

I applied to just one school in the US and one in the UK. I got both admissions. Planning on going to the US because my deficit is less than $1000. If asked how many schools I applied to, my plan was to say one school in the US but from your comment below....What do you suggest? The school I applied to already stated admission will come with automatic full funding while other schools don't have same provision. So I just applied to the school alone.

This is true.....No good jobs in Canada, boring and very high cost of living despite having low salaries!

I have been wondering why people return from Canada after getting The almighty PR. I have 3 friends who return from Canada after obtaining their PR and that got me thinking after struggling to get Canada visa and getting to Canada struggled to process PR then return back to Nigeria full time, when I ask them why they gave me different reasons. Which I will be stating here to also hear from other people who did same and their reasons.

I go with the guy that recommended USA. If you really have penchant for studying BIOCHEMISTRY, come to the US. It's easier than you think. I can put you through, if ONLY you will be serious about it. I dislike people who will want to cut corners.

I can put ANYONE through also. However here are my "personal" requirements:

- Be ready to put in some hours/weeks/months of heavy STUDY
- You will have to make some personal payments by yourself (GRE, application fees to school, SEVIS etc). All shouldn't take you upto 1m, and you don't need to have the money all at once. I won't help you with any money
- The moment you suggest or display lack of academic willingness, I am out!

I'm doing this to help as many academic inclined "STEM" students as I could.

Thanks

Not a problem at all.
You can state in your Ds-160 you want to interview in Abuja and then change to interview in Lagos while scheduling appointment.
You can schedule anywhere. Pick whatever date you see there, and when your program start date is within 60 days, request for an expedited appointment and it will be granted.

GET IRELAND OUT OF YOUR PLANS PLS...not favorable at all

easy to settle = Canada
get jobs easier = Germany if you learn German language well
earn more money = Germany with same condition as above
less racism = Canada
better security and weather = Norway and Canada have bone chilling winter for months...Germany is less cold compare to the other two...make your choice.

Also google is your friend for further research or questions!
Chigbo91:
Between Republic of Ireland, Germany, Norway and Canada, which of these countries is favourable to immigrants, where can an immigrant settle down easily, where can an immigrants get jobs easier to support himself, where is an immigrant likely to earn more money, which of them has lesser racism, which has better security and Weather ?

Schools that do not require WES or any evaluation.

After my visa denial in November, I visited the websites of probably about 600 schools while searching for schools to apply to. Fortunately I was approved the 2nd time. A positive thing is that I was able to write some schools down and now I have time to make this list.

These schools do not require any evaluation from you. The first 14 schools here, I am sure they will let you apply with your unofficial transcript then send the official one later. For the rest, some may let you apply with your unofficial transcript while some will need the official one during your application (You can verify from their website). Information is correct as at December 2020.

There are a lot more but this is what I have.
Even with all these, I would advise you to evaluate your transcript if you have the time and resources, your options will be endless! But if you don't, then fine. That is what this list is for.
Hope it helps someone

Wow....Congratulations...I tap into this as I prepare for spring application.
Maxidom:
My visa was approved on Tuesday in Lagos. My VO was a white guy. Please eat something before you go for your interview because you will be standing for a long while.

Profile:
Fall admission
Tulane University
Full funding
PhD Chemical Engineering

Here is my transcript:

Me: Good morning
VO: Good morning
VO: Pass me your passport as it is packed for you.
Me: Ok sir
VO: So, where are you going in the US?
Me: I'm going for my PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Tulane University.
VO: What University again?
Me: Repeats it.
VO: Are you married?
Me: No
VO: Do you have Kids?
Me: No
VO: What specialization in Chemical Engineering
ME: Renewable energy
VO: What University did you do your undergraduate studies?
Me: I told him.
VO: Why are you going for a PhD in this school?
Me: My research interest has always been in renewable energy source and storage and I was able to find great professors who are currently carrying out research in the development of new materials for Renewable energy more than other universities that I applied to and got admitted to. I was also offered a full tuition waiver and a graduate teaching assistantship role that offers a stipend that covers my living cost. The student to professor ratio is very nice for a highly ranked research University so I get to interact with my professors more and get more guidance for my research.

VO: What will you be researching on?
Me: I will be researching on new materials for batteries in Renewable Energy systems so as to be able to expand the durability and depth in discharge of renewable energy storage devices while ensuring a smooth integration of this stored renewable energy to the power grid for the use of populace.

VO: I can see that you have a full scholarship here
Me- Yes, I do.

V.O:- Okay. I will be approving your visa. I will hold on your passport and you will pick it up with this in a few days time. He hands me a white paper.
Me: Thank you.
VO: You are welcome.
Me: What am I to do with this white paper again?
VO: it is for you to pickup your passport at your pre determined location. We will send you a mail when it is ready. It should be ready in a few days time.
Me: Thank you.

He didn't ask me for any documents.

Thank you so much for your concern.....Pls I intend going for my masters in either sweden, Norway or US next year (funds not a problem) and I can see you were raised in sweden.....I'm an experienced IT professional and love Scandinavia so they are my top choice...Someone told me sweden is far better than Norway especially when it comes to immigration and integration....Which of the two Nordic countries do you advise me to go for?...Also should I consider the US over the two Nordic countries even though I personally don't like the US cos of its so many issues....

Look forward to your reply...Thanks!
ikswiss:
Born in Nigeria and raised in Sweden. Yeah destines differs and not saying that there is no opportunity in Norge, all am saying is do your calculation well. Norway is mad expensive, the monthly expenses for the year would pay for your tuition in England and you will be able to get a job and fit in properly.
Let’s talk about the social aspect of Nordic countries, do you guys know there is a massive diversity crisis and Norwegians are cold ass people and anti social unlike people from the UK who are welcoming and I should add we do have a massive systematic racism..

Most professional jobs that foreigners do that don’t require proficiency in Norwegian are engineering and IT related jobs but then you have to be very smart to get employed with a foreign company and ready to compete with locals as well..

So make una try do una home work before making the decision to move to Norway..

Not writing this things to discourage anyone, I’m just writing from my own experience and having some Nigerians who graduated here sharing their horrible experiences.. Ha en bra dag
Travel / Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by Elnon: 2:32pm On Apr 11, 2021
Thank you for this!
babakb:

After your graduation you can apply for 1 year residence permit to remain in Finland and look for a Job, after securing a job within the year you will be granted temporary residence renewable every 2 years as long as you're employed, after 5 years of Temporary residence you would be granted permanent residence, after 5 years of permanent residence you would be granted Citizenship.

Trust me, you can ONLY secure a job there if you master the Finish Language, regardless of academic achievement and work experience without mastering the Finish language you can't secure a Job there.

Remember that Finland is part of EU and Shenghen, Citizens of these Unions don't need a work permit to work in any of the member countries but you need one, you are gonna be competing with people that are favoured by the system, and it's quite easy for EU and Shenghen employers to employ the Unions Citizens than outsiders...

The only way you stand a chance is to master the Finish language to native level before you finish your studies there.

I have never travelled out of Nigeria before, I get all my information from the internet smiley smiley smiley

Hello NL.
I am in need of a candid advice from you guys because I am about to make a critical decision in my life rn.
I have two admissions in the UK (leicester University and Newcastle University), and one from Sweden (Linkopings University).. The program is MSc Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics option). The funding won't be an issue for any of the schools I choose to attend, However I am kind of confused in making that choice of school and country.. The reason being that I am considering opportunities in both countries after the studies, part time jobs during the studies, cost of living, possibility of PR (permanent residence) after the studies, Racism and the likes ... If you were in shoes, which of the country would you choose ..

This...Numbers don't lie!
Jaqenhghar:

No matter how insane the US is it can never be as insane as a lawless shithole where nothing works.
A second class citizen in the US lives a far better quality of life than some big men in Niggeria.
You keep talkingnof this many people yet if I probe it will be one or two people you happen to meet.
I believe in facts backed by statistics. Mathematics dont lie. One plus one is 2 anywhere you go. You may not like it but it is what it is.
Its not a coincidence when you see long ass queues outside embassies of countries like US and UK

Why are there no such crowds outside the embassies of countries like Eritrea and Somalia?

Of the people leaving the country How many of them really come back? When you calculate numbers of those who go and stay vs those who go and come back what is the ratio? You havent answered that one you are telling me about "some people".
You are talking of holidays as if Niggerians take holidays.
Go to all the popular vacation spots around the world you will hardly see Niggerians there even in the peak of summer.
