MRTA7: Obviously I'm not coaching expert, But feel rotation has to begin now especially in midfield. The number of minutes the midfield 3 have in their legs now will start getting to the fatigue and injury zone. Fred and Perreira have to come in sooner rather than later. If 3 play our main midfield 3 for the next 3 games then the Feb/March big fixtures will be problems for them in my view. We can just manage in attack and defence since they're are not far off in quality from each other but currently the middle drop off is big if we lose them to injury.
I believe something like changing 1 of the 3 per match might help preserve them. Of course this is real life and not championship manager but these run of futures will test any team in world football.
I think Ole said something similar about introducing them just like u mentioned, unlike the Reading game where he made nine changes.
JayKayMaybachz: Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could become the first ever manager to win his first seven Premier League games in charge of a club. Carlo Ancelotti (Chelsea) and Pep Guardiola (Man City) both also managed six.
afrodoc2: Well we benefitted from a relatively easy fixture list when Ole came in (at least the first 5,6 games), so we have to take this one as well as part of life.
By our former standards that's no relatively easy fixture list..
The outcome woulda been 2 labourous W , 1 D, 3 L and gnashing of teeth
afrodoc2: Yup, just turned 17. If Chong, Gomes, and Greenwood ALL fail then they need to tear down the youth program and build again from scratch.
There is nothing like a sure thing in youth football, but he is mighty close. I'm talking Pogba, Ravel Morrison level. The caveat is that for different reasons, out of our most talented youth players that i have seen e.g Guiseppe Rossi, Pogba, Ravel Morrison, James Wilson, Adnan Januzaj e.t.c ONLY Pogba has achieved his potential.
There are so many factors that come into play when transitioning from youth team to senior football, and talent is only one of many of such factors. Injury can derail in the case of Wilson, Will Keane, Rossi. Indiscipline and lack of focus in the case of Adnan, Macheda. Sociopathic behaviour, lack of discipline, criminal activities in the case of Morrison. It can be a poor coaching staff or a manager who does not believe in young talent or even a team that is in free fall and too much is required of the young player too soon like Adnan's case.
Wow... Really great analysis Doc...
If we can't integrate this small crops of prospects into the main team on the long run, quite leaves a big question mark.
afrodoc2: Mason Greenwood with 2 free kicks and an assist in victory against Liverpool Under 18, coming from 2 goals down to win 3-2. Goals and assist were with his "weaker" right foot.
Fkhalifa: ..Now imagine what one or two good fast dribbling wingers would have done in the game, when a team assembles side and back passers in attack and midfield, possession and getting countered is the result. . They get to the opposition box and they want to walk the ball on the net, even Cardiff and lobi stars won't give you space and chance to do that..
Often times they get clueless in the box and still passes it again and again, this is where quality wingers comes in, Arsenal should have finished utd in the 60th minute.
We keep saying get wingers, they say defenders, what spectacular thing did the attackers do aside the usuall passes bar iwobi and laca..
Unfortunately, Guendozi to them is the reason why we lost.. Ozil came in a did a Ronaldinho Auba scored is usual tap in and will be praised the whole week more than Laca,Torreira,Niles et all.
Are you the official chief wailer of unfortunate gayners?
