Lolz, it's simple now. Minimum wage is the least anyone can collect as a worker but not maximum. You are not expected to spend above your level. So for someone, for example, in a village in a Local government;, 70k is a good money because I saw someone trading with 20k total. If you are in the city and collecting 70k well you have to manage it by your level.
God bless you.

Local production? When we cannot boast of adequate power supply.
When you encourage local production it also means the government will pay attention to all factors that will bring that about.

Incentives to new businesses, power and every other reasonable things you can think of.

Politics › Re: Tinubu Approves ₦‎70,000 Minimum Wage, To Review Wages Every Three Years by ElSudani: 4:33pm On Jul 18, 2024
Meerahbel:
Increasing wages can potentially lead to inflation, but it's not a direct cause-and-effect relationship. Here's why:

1. Higher wages can lead to higher production costs for businesses.
2. If businesses pass these increased costs on to consumers, it can result in higher prices (inflation).
3. However, if businesses absorb the increased costs or improve productivity, the impact on prices may be minimal.

Other factors influence the relationship between wages and inflation, such as:

- Economic growth
- Productivity gains
- Labor market conditions
- Monetary policy (interest rates)
- Supply and demand imbalances

In some cases, higher wages can even lead to:

- Increased consumer spending (boosting economic growth)
- Reduced employee turnover (saving businesses recruitment and training costs)
- Improved productivity (offsetting higher labor costs)

So, while higher wages can contribute to inflationary pressures, it's not a guarantee, and the relationship depends on various economic factors. Here are some additional points to consider:

- The impact of wage increases on inflation depends on the state of the economy. In a recession, wage increases are unlikely to lead to inflation, as there is spare capacity in the economy. However, in a rapidly growing economy with low unemployment, wage increases may lead to inflation.
- The size of the wage increase also matters. Small, incremental increases are less likely to lead to inflation than large, sudden increases.
- The industry and sector also play a role. For example, wage increases in industries with high labor intensity, such as healthcare or education, may be more likely to lead to inflation than in industries with high automation, such as manufacturing.
- The presence of price controls or monetary policy can also influence the relationship between wages and inflation. For example, if a central bank is aggressively raising interest rates to combat inflation, the impact of wage increases on inflation may be mitigated.
- Finally, the relationship between wages and inflation can vary across different countries and regions, depending on factors such as labor market institutions, economic structures, and cultural norms.

Overall, while there is a potential link between wage increases and inflation, it is not a straightforward relationship, and many factors need to be considered when assessing the impact of wage growth on prices.
This Ai generated response is not what I was looking for.
There's a reason the government did not accept the 250000 asked for by the labor unions. Did you think the government just didn't want the people to have more money in order to spite them?

In some cases, higher wages can even lead to:

- Increased consumer spending (boosting economic growth)
- Reduced employee turnover (saving businesses recruitment and training costs)
- Improved productivity (offsetting higher labor costs)

Isn't it why I said the government should now encourage more local production?

Next is to bring down inflation and support increased local production of goods and services.
Too much money in circulation chasing few goods is bad for the economy.

How much was fuel and diesel? How much was travelling and visa processing and how many people had thought of getting visa to leave Nigeriahuh Una go just dey open mouth speak big grammar to deceive people wey no get sense. I will pick Abacha anytime anyday over Shehu Shagari's government including General Gowon combined together. Abacha reduced our external debt by 35% and till today we haven't had a president to reduce our debts of maintain a stable exchange rate for a whole year. I can go on and tell you his achievements. Abacha was analysing economy problems and our it will be solved and economy experts were clapping because he knew what he was saying. He never read from the book. A whole Regular Officer who had no idea about economy. Sometimes what we need is someone who understands problems and how to solve it not by going to multiple schools. Look at Cardozo speaking english up and down with nothing to prove. Look at our sanusi did extremely well as CBN governor.
Abacha's regime was a complete tyranny. It was Marman Vatsa who said "lean freedom is better than fat slavery"
I guess the opposite is true for you.

Blessed Nigerian from the tribe of Yoruba kingdom, this is the reason I won't malign all yorubas for the foolishness of 40% of the them, of which 30% of the 40% are ignorant idiotic muslims and 7% are confused and not aligned to any religion, and 3% are christians. I also curse 30% of Igbos who support the criminality in Nigeria and the 70% of northern muslim, they are senseless.

What I noticed is that yorubas are impulsive, that is they are reactive based on the stimuli triggering them at the instant, they are everywhere and nowhere, they are like babies that you need to nurture and cuddle with breast milk and pamper, it is what you give them they give back, it is why we Misunderstand them as being cowards, they read what you mean at the literal level.

Okay imagine, Soyinka that went to prison because of Biafra, imagine his behaviour now, that is to give you the picture of what I am sayng.

The only reason I can never date or marry a Yoruba woman, I make it clear to the ones who show interest at me is becauSe they don't honour the sanctity of marriage as I am a conservative and a one man one woman person, I started eating ewedu but mixed in egusi soup to mask the taste, but you see that gbegiri, I close my eyes when I notice it is around, I have a hyper immune system that will make me throw up, so to not be offensive I leave the environment, it is just because of food I can't marry them. God knows nothing will take me near a northerner, I can't imagine being in heaven and seeing the reason why I died is because my head left my shoulders because of religion.

I will stick to my Chioma forever, she is the world.

Dangote is over protected in Nigeria, that's not news. He's always had this status of a front bagman for the government. He doesn't have my sympathy but my logic.
Over protected in what way? The issue at hand is not even about Dangote alone. I wonder if other refineries also have to go to Europe to buy Nigerian crude from third parties. Pure madness.

Dangote's whining don dey plenty. i have always maintained that Dangote can't sell cheaper than imported. He'll only help with not having to lose forex. The game is on. Other refineries better step up and stop looking to Dangote as saviour. He's a business man not Nigeria's sugar daddy.
Companies like Dangote are protected in other countries. You should check the special status accorded Companies like Hyundai and Daewoo in South Korea.
Little problems like this here and there add up to making Nigeria unsuitable for investors.
It is a shame that a Nigerian refinery should have to go to Europe to buy Nigerian crude from a third party.

Umahi, no matter his position and status, doesn't have the authority to speak for the south east, and he knows this very fact.
Anyone who doesn't share your Ipob views is not speaking on behalf of Indigbo. I guess Simon Ekpa and Nnamdi Kanu are the people with authority to speak.

Wow! My neighbor produced yams from her farm, a very bountiful harvest. She's selling her yams. It's not cheap. I want to buy the yams at market rate from her. She refuses to sell to me, but insists I look for a shop owner in the market, let that shop owner come and buy from her, then sell to me.

No... The shop owner is not selling to me at the price he bought; he's selling to me at a premium, in addition to the market value I should have paid if I bought directly from my neighbor. This premium, has nothing to do with Nigeria law or government. No value added, no tax paid, no CSR, nothing!!! Just earn free money from me!!!

Oh... That shop owner turns out to be my neighbor's younger brother. The shop even belongs to my neighbor.

Again, I say WOW!!!
Something like that. Too many loopholes, one of the reasons Nigeria is regarded as highly corrupt. It is not just about politicians pocketing public funds.

Politics › Re: Things The Average Igbo Must Understand About The Planned Protest by ElSudani:
pazienza:
The North have weighed up their options.

If the riots go as planned, they should be able to control it long enough to bring Tinubu to negotiation table to yield to their demands.
If it gets out of control, they will oust Tinubu from power, and in Shettima they are well positioned to take over.

So in all these power plays, where exactly are Igbo interests served?

If you join in the riots as an Igbo and Tinubu reconciles with his Northern partners, they will both team up and deal ruthlessly with you while tagging you IPOB terrorists and other names.

If the riots go beyond control and Tinubu is forced to flee, or the military intervenes, the Army chief is still not Igbo. And when order is restored, Shettima will be restored and he is still not Igbo.
So what exactly do you intend to achieve with a senseless protest?

Be wise enough to recognise the power play going on and mind your own business.
Don't make yourself an easy pawn in that power play.

Ndewo nu.
I thought you were planning a protest. A protest is no the same thing as a riot.
No riots will be allowed in the SW.
