Truidstarr: According to sofascore, The average of the SE last 5 matches; we averaged:
Corner kicks and Freekicks combined: 16.2 per match. We did not convert a single one. This set piece coach Chelle is coming with is very much needed. I av a feeling dis man might even be well prepared of d job ahead , knows. Our weaknesses and I won’t be surprise even if chelle don get him first 11 line up against Rwanda 🇷🇼 😊 |

Mujtahida: What was Westerhof's achievement before his appointment? Berti Voight won Euro for Germany, Lagersback took Sweden to the world cup yet both had forgettable stints with us. My point is that there is no guarantee for anything oo. Known or unknown quantity as a coach is a matter of who comes in and performs. Are we still on dis….we all shld knw dt employing a foreign coach is like a night market .we av seen good coaches with quality cv and Dey failed woefully.one of d examples is egypt 🇪🇬 world class coach Aguirre ,despite his cv he couldn’t qualify Egypt pass d second round in afcon, ousted by SA .now we av a chelle, let support him and c what he can achieve . |

TheGoodJoe: First of all, my point on Libya was about an NFF internal administrative/diplomatic issue, which I saw lapses and believe we can do better. It has nothing to do with the actions of Libya. If you can understand the bolded, you will know that CAF ruling has no relation to my point made.
My point was that we could be more diplomatic and assisting. CAF ruling was on the poor treatment metted out on us by Libya.
How can you relate them?
On Chelle's case, NFF announced Mc Oran's coach as ours, when he has not terminated his contract with them. How you can't see something wrong in that is also baffling.
Unless there are information missing, Eric Chelle is still Mc Oran's coach. He has not terminated his contract with them and he has not signed for us. Why is the NFF announcing him as our coach? They should have concluded with all parties, Chelle sign the contract, then announce him. If d Oran story is true …den u re right on dis…nff were too quick to make an announcement wout tiding up loose ends |

TheGoodJoe:
I am actually expecting nothing less than an explosive Super Eagles under Chelle. Our players need to buy into his philosophy and embrace him.
If they soak in his knowledge of the game, I see the Super Eagles flying high and becoming one of the most fierce national sides in the game. We can only soak up guardiolas knowledge; nothing more 😋 |

bisqit: You people should forget about the WC. It’s mission impossible. Highest we will get is second runner up because the damage had already been done I won’t give up until after march games …I believe if osimhen is fit and we are able to win Rwanda 🇷🇼 away and Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 at home while oda top teams cancel each other ..our World Cup dream will be alive Remember osimhen hasn’t. Played any World Cup qualifiers yet hence part of d reasons we struggle for goals to win matches .he will be a big determinant in our qualification quest . |

Napoleon55: I think the majority of us will eventually come to support Chelle especially if he gets positive results from his first two WCQ matches.
I'm even more interested in him winning next AFCON even if he fails to secure WC ticket, it was the previous coaches who put us in this precious situation. He might not coach us at Acton if he fails to nick dt World Cup spot |

Joebie: The only positive I can take from Chelle's appointment is his determination to make a name for himself accepting a pay cut. This matches our desperation to qualify for the World Cup. He knows very well our biggest foes in the group -- South Africa, a team we must defeat also. Coupled with Rwanda having a new coach, it could tilt to our favor. The profiles in the Malian team he handled is quite different from ours. He has a very short time, but I am very skeptical about his tactical decisions in big moments. In reality he is quite inexperienced, but he will learn more at this new job, however it goes. Rwanda hasn’t changed deir coach bro |

ChrisKels: I think Ideye is fast proving his fitness and form since joining Enyimba, and it will make sense to have such an experienced striker in the Eagles mix, especially as our back up strikers haven't really been up there in the absence of Osimhen. U can as well make a case for Ahmed Musa too 😎 |

Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by elyte89: 2:46pm On Jan 08, 2025 |
TheGoodJoe: Personally, I think Eric Chelle's appointment is an unambitious one. Unfortunately, the NFF are cash strapped and we have to make do with whatever decision they make.
Eric Chelle is actually a coach I liked from his AFCON performance, played bright free-flowing football that entertained me. I think I made a comment about him when Mali got knocked out.
I also feel Samson Siasia is more deserving, since Amunike is now working on an interesting project at Heartland FC, I would want to see what becomes of it in the next 3-4 years.
I don't think Chelle is more of a tactician than Samson Siasia and Siasia would have easily been able to put a sound team together.
Either way, we have Eric Chelle as our coach and we need to throw our full weight behind him and hope he succeeds.
I pray he does well with the Super Eagles and have us playing breath-taking football. I am happy ….goodjoe is back with breath taking soak up guardiola tactical views 😍🥰 |
