To be fair, with regards to your second point, we can't entirely blame the NFF...
The NFF doesn't own or control any pitch in Nigeria... They only make use of the ones available..
The real blame should be on the government through the National Sports Commission who have continued to neglect our national stadiums...
It's shameful that we constantly have to depend on a state government owned stadium in Akwa Ibom to bail us out while leaving Federal Government owned stadiums in Abuja and Lagos in bad conditions..

The part I'll really blame the NFF on was their appointment of Finidi... Worst still, they allowed him turn the national team to an experiment ground for NPFL players during a crucial world cup qualifier...

From the structure..NSC /NFf work together,Dey re like twins ..Dey need to come together and give us a 2 grade A STANDARD FOOTBALL PITCH with flood lights where we can host qualifiers by 6pm earliest ..I can bet it with u ,dt with a good playing surface under the right weather condition even if finishdi is the coach …I can say authoritatively that we would defeat any average African side at home …our poor home result in wcq since 2022 is our greatest undoing and if this pattern continues we would still struggle to qualify or might not even qualify but of course ,our nff don’t learn ..I av noticed this poor result home games since 2022 World Cup qualifiers.we need to change that pattern by addressing it ,if not we re not going to qualify for the 2030 World Cup even if pep guardiola is our coach

I would say it’s 60percent nff’s fault …Dey couldn’t play the political side of the game(allowing South Africa to play us on a bad pitch ;coupled with allowing South Africa to host other countries games in our group in their home (ANY NORTH AFRICAN FA WOULD NEVA ALLOW SUCH)


Number 2 …even our so called best pitch (to national stadium)🏟️ doesn’t have a smooth surface playing pitch for our European boys to excel well: we can’t compare the pitch we experienced in Morocco 🇲🇦 last afcon to uyo stadium. This number 2 issue needs to be fixed asap ,or else we might not qualify for the next World Cup ..this stadium issue also affected us in 2022 World Cup qualifiers..I have noticed the wcq result pattern (we hardly win at home due to point raised above)

DRC is recruiting good but we still saw how Algeria stopped them at the Afcon. Same Algeria we outplayed for 90mins. DRC has always been a force since the 70s... their resurgence is good for African football but they are still not complete. Their game vs Jamaica showed some of the depth of their deficiencies.

Senegal, CIV, Morocco all recruiting in droves and it is no news coz it is what they have been doing. Now how many are really quality? How many will they play? Dont get me wrong, Senegal, CIV and Morocco are legitly strong sides in African football but none of their foreign born-talents have won the APOTY except Madrid-born Achraf Hakimi of Morocco.

Look at Nigeria, we may not have the Volume of Foreign-born talents recruitment compared to the countries mentioned above (especially as most of our dual nationals prefer England or france or Germany or Denmark or any other euro state) but when we do succeed in recruiting, we are lucky enough to land truly talented lads.

Victor Moses was a fantastic recruitment who eventually won an Afcon.

Ademola Lookman came in 2022 and won the APOTY for 2024. That is a gap of just 2yrs+.

Calvin Bassey came in and arguably is Africa's best and strongest CB today. The last Afcon showed this.

Ola Aina has established himself as one of Africa's best RBs behind Hakimi.

Bright Osayi Samuel showed up huge at the last Afcon at RB in Aina's absence.

Emmanuel Fernandez of Rangers got recruited and just recently debuted and boy! What a talent he is at the back... a lad who will inevitably go on to greater things in the GWG and in his club career.


These are just some of the strong examples showing the quality of our dual-nationals/foreign-born talents recruitments despite the multitudes of NO or disinterest we have encountered from the likes of Olise, Eze, Saka, Musiala, Tammy, Tomori and co. And guess what? We are still pushing recruitment efforts and structurally this time through a diaspora monitoring committe

And I know you will mention World Cup but mind you....
....the major reason we are not at the World Cup was due to administrative indecisions/flop decisions moving us from Jpes to Finidi to Eguavoen before we found Chelle.

The NFF General Secretary admitted it already that "...if Chelle had began the WCQs, we would easily be in USCAMEX 2026..." So lesson learnt.

Concerning d World Cup failures, It goes beyond coaching, i can bet it with u that lessons have not been learnt; because by now if truly it has been learnt, we shld be seeing serious signs of nff engaging private sectors or govt to ensure we have 2 standard stadiums 🏟️ ready in country for the next series of qualifiers..several times the players most especially iwobi has criticised nff of not providing the best playing surface Dey re used to in Europe(bad pitches, playing under bad conditions)..it’s like we re playing “away” from home , infact in our last two World Cup qualifying campaigns shows dt we have lost/drawn more home World Cup games ;due to the issues highlighted earlier ….yet we want to qualify,how do we qualify for the World Cup when we hardly win our home games. In 2022, we almost lost to Cape Verde 🇨🇻 at home if not for ndidi defensive block around 89 mins or so, we almost missed d playoffs

We thought we av learnt from dt, yet our mumu administrators failed to spot the issues of not winning our home games effectively. We all know aw the 2026 wcq turned out .. we drew most of our home games.


I can say it authoritatively that if this issue is not addressed b4 next wcq campaign for Morocco 🇲🇦 Spain 🇪🇸 Portugal 🇵🇹 2030, we would not qualify.

Chukwueze is still a strong valuable player in the Super Eagles and My God! When I think of his 2 assists to Osimhen vs Benin in Uyo, I see a baller that is not done with making more magic in the GWG.
