omodapson: That's a big fallacy my dear. Which piece if I may ask? If that's what bring riches, then the world should have produced millionaires in their billions. Many people have read books on wealth and are still as poor as church rats. What works for A may not necessarily work for B.
Hello, Mr. I said read and apply, not so? The law of gravity, doesn't it work everywhere? True, they may have read alot but application is somewhat difficult. That's the difference between entrepreneurs and a trader, business man.

AjanleKoko: You don't get my point.
Buying the book is not going to make you rich. Reading the book is also not going to make you rich. And finally, you don't need to read the book to adjust your attitude. That's my argument. The only person that will be rich as a result of the book is the author, because he's the only person that has applied creativity, consistency, and also positioned himself for the x-factor to work. X-factor in this case being the gullibility of the masses.

The Bible isn't a good example. A lot of organizations make the Bible available at zero cost. You don't even need to buy it. I only referred to the Bible because some were quoting the Bible in support of the original post.
I strongly disagree with your view. I mean, we go to school to become better individuals, the reason we read is to pass exams. For God sake, the Bible points the gate to heaven. Reading this and applying this piece guarantees you financial success. Except you did not acquire any knowledge in school then your point has value.
CareerRe: 21 Ways Rich People Think Differently From Ordinary People by email1(m): 11:20am On Sep 06, 2012
AjanleKoko: Hypocrisy is the real religion of the modern world.
Just look at all these responses. Everybody is jumping on the bandwagon, high-fiving each other and the OP because they want to be rich.
It takes a lot more than mere words to be rich. And I'm sorry to burst your bubble and say, a great number of posters obviously have little or no view into the money-making dynamic.

If the guy who wrote this blog decided to publish it in a book, all of you would rush to buy it, because you want to be rich. However, you'd have succeeded in only making the author rich. If you want to be rich, get off your behinds, get out there and hustle. Riches is little beyond consistency, creativity, and the x-factor. All three usually work together to make a person money. It has nothing to do with mentality.

Some people are even quoting the Bible. Why then do we have mostly agnostics/atheists as the world's richest people? Riches have little to do with what church you attend, or what mosque you pray at. Stop deceiving yourselves.

Last parting shot: Consider that you're all here on Nairaland, generating comments and making Seun rich!
Point 15 answers your question perfectly. What's wrong with buying a piece of work that someone has spent his whole life researching on? I mean I know I'll be enriching him but at the end of the day it is worth it because my knowledge base will increase and I certainly won't be in the same thinking level.

I mean same way I'll buy a Bible if I need to make heaven is same way I'll buy this thought-provoking piece of art if I want to be rich and ofcourse, I will.

vislabraye: You speak like someone who's versed in the scripture. I like that.
God can make someone rich without fraud or dishonesty. Solomon is a good example and several others.
Thanks for the compliment. I wish I was more versed than the level I still find myself suprisingly. I just tried to point out that anointing from the head flows right down the beards. For pastors like Oyedepo, Oyakhilome, their members will have success mentality, but you can't rule out the fact that some read it from '...it is easier for a camel to pass through the eyes of a needle than for a rich man to inherit the kingdom of God.' (paraphrased) Mark 10:25.
CareerRe: 21 Ways Rich People Think Differently From Ordinary People by email1(m): 9:08pm On Sep 05, 2012
schorlbone: Good article anyway, but IMO, I think no one is capable of making riches by his actions or inaction. I believe God gives riches to whoever he likes and vice versa...... Right?
At first when I read your post I thought you were a lady but seeing you are a man makes it more annoying. I understand your point and possible frustration. Most churches see it from your point of view no doubt.
My advice to you is to read the prosperity and riches aspect of the Bible more, love it, understand God wants you to prosper, understand what the Bible meant when God called you a son as well as a 'god' (Psalms 82:6), visualize yourself in great wealth still serving God and giving for His work to continue. I mean, you are not to small to give God and your local assembly N100,000,000,000.

Thanks Tunji, this article is just so on point! Now I know better. If for three decades he was trying to put this piece together, who am I to reject it? I mean its just so crystal clear. No. 7, 8 made more sense to me but the whole article is what I'll copy, print and look at each passing day till I acquire that status.

Hey watch, am coming through! Hahahahaha.

I also love the arguement against the article, I mean, it really tells the class and mindset. Its in the mind, its in the mindset. I REFUSE TO BE AVERAGE! No be curse.

Anyway, was born Deeper (Mosan District, or something like that since we left Lagos since 1997). Now in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, YMC, Karu Site, Abuja.

I may run back to Deeper Life after my wedding perhaps, or go there so my unborn kids will learn the hard core gospel and fetch them out when they are almost adults.

Again, another ignorance. What fact? Read your Bible well. Dont mistake Paul for Peter. Peter had a wife. Read Luke 4:38 and Mark 1:30.

Quick advice. When you are not sure dont pour out what you have in mind, especially on nairaland.

CrimeCourt Gives Florida Teenager 162-year Sentence by email1(op): 9:18pm On Jul 04, 2012
REUTERS
Quartavious Davis is still shocked by what happened to him in federal court two months ago. "My first offense, and they gave me all this time," said Davis, a pudgy African American with dreadlocks who spoke with Reuters at the Federal Detention Centre in Miami. "Might just as well say I'm dead."

Davis was convicted of participating in a string of armed robberies in the Miami area in 2010. His accomplices testified against him, saying he carried a gun during their crimes and discharged it at a dog that chased them after one of their burglaries.

But Davis was not convicted of hurting anyone physically, including the dog. Davis would occupy no place at all in the annals of crime if not for his sentence. Now 20 years old, he was sentenced to 1,941 months - almost 162 years - in prison without the possibility of parole.

On the day of Davis's interview with Reuters, the U.S. Supreme Court decided that life sentences without parole for defendants under the age of 18 constituted "cruel and unusual punishment" even in cases of murder. Unfortunately for Davis, he was 18 at the time of his crimes. Nonetheless, Davis's attorney will argue that Davis's sentence to die in prison also constitutes "cruel and unusual punishment" on the grounds that Davis is a "first offender," having never before been charged with a crime. "Just as the Supreme Court recently held that the Constitution bars taking away all discretion from judges in sentencing juveniles to life imprisonment for committing murder," said the attorney, Jacqueline Shapiro, "so also is it cruel and extreme to allow unfettered prosecutorial discretion to force a sentencing judge to impose a life sentence on a teenage first offender convicted of lesser charges."

Davis's unusually long sentence results from a controversial practice known as "stacking," in which each count of an indictment is counted as a separate crime, thus transforming a first-time defendant into a "habitual criminal" subject to multiple sentences and mandatory sentencing guidelines. "Any law that provides for a mandatory term of imprisonment for a 19-year-old first offender that exceeds a century has got to be unconstitutional," said Michael Zelman, the court-appointed attorney who represented Davis at his trial.

Zelman resigned from Davis's case after filing a notice of appeal. If Davis's new lawyer, Shapiro, has her way, the Supreme Court may ultimately decide the issue. The case will be appealed first to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta.

Christianity Etc“I Sacrificed A Baby And My Manhood For Money Making Rituals” by email1(op): 11:17pm On Jun 29, 2012
Before I joined the church of Satan, I
sacrificed a baby, to become a
member, I drank blood and so many
other things, which I shouldn’t have
done. I also sold myself to the devil for
fifty years.”
This confession summed up the story of a 29 year old Ghanaian
businessman who in his quest to be
rich joined four occult groups where
he committed the worst of
abominations.
At 21, Steven Kofi (not real name) from
West coast in Ghana, began his
journey into the occult world by
joining the church of satan
international before going deeper to
join others such as the score and bone cult, region of doom and free mercy
debunked all in his bid to make
wealth.
A once vibrant man with a wife and a
child along with a prospering oil
business had to abdicate his
matrimonial responsibility to his wife
for eight years after sacrificing his
manhood as a condition for wealth . Faced with the threat of death after
being given a 49 day ultimatum to live,
the Ghanaian ran after God and
recently got a relief in Lagos during
the Lord’s Chosen Church programme,
“Time to Recover all” where Saturday Sun had an encounter with him. How did he join such groups at an
early stage in life? “The story started in
my final year at the university of
Ghana, I was studying oil and gas
engineering, I got my master degree
in oil and gas engineering. At the final year, things were so tough for me that
I needed to finish my education, but
there was no way to get financial help,
at the end of the day I consulted my
parents but it was fruitless”, he stated. According to him,“usually I chat with
somebody on the internet that helps
me with money. He is a man and that
was before I later got married to a
Norwegian lady in 2003. We had a kid
before she travelled, but she usually call me on phone once in while, at that
time, I called her for financial help but
she didn’t have any cash.”
He said the person who used to assist
him complained that he could not
continue sending money to him, and
as such, he has to fend for himself.“He
told me that he cannot continue
sending me, money, money. He said I have to work for myself, and I asked
him, how, he said you have to do it on
your own”, he stated adding that from
that point he decided to locate the
church of satan in Ghana where he
was told that his initiation would be done in far away Califonia, USA.
In
deed, travel documents were
prepared for him and he travelled to
ground Lodge at Early Noise in
Califonia where his initiation took
place. He said after the initiation process, he
demanded to see the devil, and was
asked to write a request letter to the
devil which he did. His request was
granted within two weeks, and he
was able to meet face to face with the devil who asked him to make three
wishes, adding that his third wish for
long life could not be granted because
church members only live within the
space of thirty years after joining the
church of Satan. “The devil demanded that I make
three wishes from him, which I
consented to, that I want to be
famous, wealthy and live long, but the
third one he refused to grant
disagreeing to the idea, that any one that joins the church of Satan will
always live for thirty years, once you
join at 20, you live till 50.
This I agreed
to because I was eager for money”,
Kofi stressed. He further disclosed that after joining
the church of Satan, Satanic Bible was
made available to him, sword of
slaughter, initiation glove, Suit and
other items. He however explained
that he didn’t lose his manhood until he added another feather to his cap in
the occult world by joining yet another
group.
“When I joined the Score and
bone society, that’s when I sacrificed
my manhood to increase my wealth”,
he added. Beside the monetary gains from the
cults, he was also sent on an
assignment which is to win souls for
the kingdom of Satan. Through this,
he has won more than 23 souls for
Satan, using the advantage of the wealth he was given. “Boys and girls
who are eager for money, wealth, I
show them the way. I have offices in
Port-Harcourt, Warri, Abuja, Ghana, I
give them what to do and they begin
to make money on their own and also teach them how to join and I send
them over”, he added.
How did this bring joy to his parents?
Kofi said after making money, he
decided to open a plaza for his mother
in Ghana, but she rejected the offer,
claiming that it was a blood money,
because of her attachment to Christ and a vision she saw in which she saw
the source of his wealth. But father
and his siblings accepted him.
His trouble however started after he
became uncomfortable with his life. At
that point, he began to look for
powerful pastors that could save his
life.
When his cults discovered he was
going astray, he was penalized and given 49 days to die. “I was given 49 days to live, I have
spent 19 days, and it remains 30 days,
before deliverance came to me
through Pastor Mouka of the Lord’s
Chosen”, he stated.
Having learnt some bitter lessons, Kofi
wants youths not covet what others
have while urging parents to restrict
what their children watch on television
screens.

On his manhood that was restored during the deliverance session, Kofi
said “I give God all the glory that my
manhood was restored back, am
happy now that I can make more
babies again.” Culled: Sunnewsonline

As funny as it sounds, sentiments apart, its gonna be the best. Security agents can do just little as churches are spread all over. Its in our hands to protect ourselves.
Put them in front, christian- church security behind and see how it plays out. Lets give our muslim brothers the benefit of the doubt.
