Hey guys, I’ve hardly seen people sharing offers for computer science/engineering programs, unlike other programs —even in social sciences.

I applied to the computer science/engineering programs at University of Virginia, University of Florida and University of California San Diego and I still haven’t got any decision on my application.

Please, who has been admitted to any of these programs?

PS: I contacted profs at these programs and they were interested in working with me.

Visa approved

28th December 2020. Location:Lagos
I was scheduled for 11:am but I got to the embassy 7:19am and they didnt start giving number until around 11:30 (or so soon thereafter) my interview didnt last 5min (but now that I'm typing it, it seems it was forever)

I was interviewed by a black lady can't really remember the window maybe 15

Congratulations!!
Do you really not know what your half brother does in the States, or you decided to deliberately withhold the information?
Do you think that significantly demonstrated your nonimmigrant intent?

I thought probably asking her for clarifications would have saved me, but the truth is that, she was looking for excuses to deny people. She asked me almost all questions you 've seen any where on VISA interview and queried me twice why I decided to leave my family in Nigeria. As for me, am facing my business for now and we go back there next year March or April,

I’m glad you’ve got over it! Try again whenever you’re ready and may things work out fine!!

Dec 18th
Abuja

I met with the white guy

Good morning
VO: Good morning

VO: Pass ur passport and i-20

VO: So what are you going for?

I’m sorry for the denial. I guess what the VO wanted to hear when he asked why your uncle was going to give you that kinda money was simply what you wanted to do with the degree.

I’m sure you plan to do something really great with the degree or it’s going to help you immeasurably in some way, that’s why your uncle was convinced that you needed the sponsorship. So the paraphrased question would be “What do you intend to do with this degree?” Or “Why this course?”

She was the one that denied me after she seemed to have been convinced I should be given VISA, she just asked me if I know anyone in the US and I said no, that was how she collected my Passport where she kept it before and gave me blue form. Did I do anything wrong answering NO when none of my immediate family members resides in US? Na go come back dem dey do?

Do you really not know anyone in the US? She didn’t ask if you have a relative or some sort; the question wasn’t specific. So, I think if you had even had a chat with someone in the US, your response to that question should have been “YES”. Just what I think though!!

Hello friends, please is there any alumni or current graduate student at the University of Texas at Arlington?

I am about to submit my application for a PhD in the CSE department and would like to know how strict the GRE and TOEFL requirements are, especially for Nigerians. Although on the graduate catalog of the department, an unconditional admission status is reserved for those who meet the first 6 criteria, including CGPA, course rigor, former institution’s fame, among others, I would really love to hear from an insider.

Thanks, in advance, for your response.
