I said I will get back to this your tweet in few weeks.

Sorry it took me long to do that.
Below is my DN1 Visa sponsored by my Company. I won’t post my WP and TRC here but I am a resident of VN for the Next Two years…

I just returned from Nigeria with no Visa. Just my Residence.

Y’all recall that I entered Vietnam with EVisa yeah? And I posted that it’s really not easy but I developed my own struggle pattern…

I got messed up by an employer.

I went for visa run three times because Vietnamese will f**k you up if you meet the bad ones… (although they are all sponsored. Not a dime of mine in it)

But like I Always say, LUCK AND MIRACLE is not to be messed with.

I didn’t say your advice isn’t a good one but I am comfortable working now.

Now let me say this to anyone who’s still having interest to come here…!

Do not give any agent your money for Vietnam any!!! Anything at all…

If you cannot apply a Vietnamese Visa then don’t come. There’s nothing for you here…!

I said it before, the only job here is teaching. And you have to earn it all in you to be a teacher…! Even if you have IELTS 8.0 band you’ll prove it.

And for anyone who intends cool cool coming with EVisa, I wish you well and Luck but if you know any other country, try there first (especially if you know you can’t TEACH). I won’t advise you not to come but you will need to be thrice a hustler when you come here. Most people can’t do that. They all want to stay in Hanoi and Saigon.

Lastly, I don’t like it when people send me private messages uninformed. You can Ask your questions here and I will try my best to answer.

Good Luck y’all. grin grin
Congrats, so you work as a teacher now?
Was it the same company that sponsor your border run thrice?

Those of you planning to travel to Vietnam with a tourist visa with the hope of working as promised by agents. Look at some Nigerians below who are stranded and have been sleeping outside because of a phantom job promised them by agents.
teaching jobs (which is very difficult now to get).
Don't believe whatever any Godforsaken agent tells you, it's a lie and after your little money.

If you try to explain to them that there’s a difference between a business E-visa and Business visa, they’ll think you’re lying.
Anything with E-visa attached, just run.
No one will want to associate with you in Vietnam, even in language centers you won’t get a job just because of the visa.

Anything Evisa, just run

Thanks for your advice . Can i extend my Evisa for another 1yr since am not coming to work...i can trade online myself.
If my child is in school. can the parent be a dependant under the child visa.
I have no idea about the child visa.
There’s no Evisa for 1 year unless for US citizens.
If you want to stay in Vietnam for long, travel with a business visa or travel with a 3 months evisa and within the 3 months marry a Vietnamese woman and you get 5 years visa exemption.

Both

Please kindly elaborate whats wrong with the E-Visa cos i know a lot of people that left the country with that recently.
If you use the E-visa you can’t renew the visa after it expires.
So many employers will not even consider you for a part time job if you’re in possession of the E-visa, to get another visa you must exit and return with the appropriate sticker Business Visa not the Business Evisa, the Evisa is completely useless.
A sticker Business visa is use for processing work permit but an Evisa is good for nothing.

Someone asked me to pay $3000. For the teaching job with permit. Wow , thats why im considering other less competitive countries in Asia
If you trust the person then you can pay, but if it’s a random agent you met online, don’t pay.

That is what 5k pounds can afford with sure visa atleast. My brother can move to other western countries easily from there in 2 yrs time.
Well, it depends on what is most more important to you., whether the study or the traveling abroad.
If you have 5k pounds to spare and you want Asia then try china or other top Asia countries.

Emarvel, I couldnt help but notice how helpful youve been and honest about things , thanks for your time with everyone wanting to know things . However I am so curious to know this.

Why is everyone rushing to teach English in Vietnam?

What about Cambodia, Taiwan, indonesia. ?
Do I have any chances to travel to any of those countries from Vietnam? And get teaching job in person as a Nigerian. I have all the qualifications and my English is straight from The U.k since I lived there many yeara of my life.
Cambodia has been hostile towards Nigerians of recent.
To enter Cambodia from Vietnam via land border is like a war., some Agents will even tell you that it’s not possible.
You can travel from Vietnam to anywhere, but i think to use embassy for visa processing, you must be in possession of a Valid VietnamTRC.

A lot of discouraging words on this thread. Someone told me about this Vietnam and how studying there is affordable and visa is easy to get. Only to come on nairaland to see people advising against it. I want to sponsor my immediate elder bro with 5k pounds to relocate to Vietnam via studies, but the comments here are all crying abort mission.
Before you sponsor him to come here via study, just ask yourself one question, why Vietnam?

Ufemia26:
.

Which other Eu countries kwanu? with easy visa process?
All these are tiring. Any country one wishes to relocate has something negative people will say about it.
Any country on earth people have negative opinions about the country, even the almighty UK and Canada, people still complain.
If you try less expensive EU country people will also say you shouldn’t have left home at all.
So just do your thing, always remember that you can travel from one country to another.
If you scroll, you will read where someone mentioned that the OP of this thread has already left Vietnam to another country., most times if you remain in 9ja, your dream of traveling might be cut short.

Do one pay to get job, or with a good qualification and very good english, one could get a job while currently in Vietnam?
No, no……..you don’t have to pay at all.
Anyone telling you to pay before giving you a job is likely a scam.
With the necessary qualifications and good speaking ability, you will get a job without knowing anyone.

Vietnamese wey full Japan like wetin. shocked One would wonder if they are fleeing the country. Although, the country's economy is growing with factories and all, I would not recommend it to a black African to move to. Asian countries worth relocating as black Africans are: Japan, China, South Korea, and Singapore. Anything aside, better be a successful or fast-growing business person looking for contracts or partnerships and/or have another passport other than the Nigerian one.

The fellow who mentioned Taiwan should know that the authorities there don't fancy Nigerian passport holders because we align with Mainland China.
All over the world, no one fancy a Nigerian passport holder.
Sad but true

Okay, I understand. I heard it's quite difficult for Nigerians/Blacks to get employed as ESL teachers in Vietnam, how true is that?

Also, I heard the salary for ESL teachers in Vietnam can range from $1000 to $2500 monthly. I don't know true is that?
From $700 actually.

Most likely everything you’ve heard about this place recently has been a lie. If a Nigerian is offering you visa and promising you work when you arrive it’s a scam. Stop wasting your money and empowering some wicked Nigerians here by paying them $3k+ for a visa that cost less than $50 and then to have to return back to Nigeria 3 months later. Sad truth is that you’ll not even make any money in the 3 months you’re here. There’re no factory jobs. The only job for you here is teaching. Every other thing is a scam. (I don’t care about the proof your agent has provided you)
Everything has casted since the introduction of the 3 months visa. If you like come here on a visit visa you’ll still pack your bag after 3 months and go back. Whoever wants to hear should hear. Also, the teaching job is becoming a scam now. How do you compete with a teacher from the uk or from the USA. They don’t even need much, they can survive on the 3 months visa and keep doing visa runs via bus to neighboring countries. Where can you go as a Nigerian??

If you like come as student, your case is even worse. After paying agent, you go still pay school fees and you won’t even see work. If you like hear. If you like give away your money anyhow.

The person who even made this thread has left the country and japa. This place is NOT friendly to blacks. But then no where really is.
You’re right, if you must come then come with a business visa not an E-visa.
Visa runs is difficult for a Nigerian passport holder, better get a business visa that will prevent you from visa runs.
Run from E-visa whether tourist E-visa or Business E-visa.
Get a business visa sponsor by a company.
But i will disagree with you on the competition aspect, all over the world people compete., Even in UK people compete for menial jobs and what do you expect when it comes to a professional job?
I’m not an agent, before you come for me.
I’m just a teacher trying to make ends meet.
If you’re still in Vietnam, we can meet up; I’m currently @ HCMC.

PLEASE Just a Word of Advice: If you LIKE take If you Like Leave it.
1. You CANNOT convert a Tourist Visa to a Work Visa while in Vietnam. You MUST Exit to another country. At the moment with your Nigerian Passport, it is VERY difficult to get a country to exit to for a Visa run. I'll advise you to be patient and process your business Visa. The number of Nigerians and Africans trouping in now with Tourist Visa with the ALMIGHTY "My Agent Told Me" story and are already overstayed and stranded.
2. Nothing Like a Factory job here. If you believe your agent, It's not my money or my suffering.
3. No country will give you a visa now as a tourist visa holder in Vietnam to go on a Visa run with your Nigeria passport. The best bet is you'll go back to Nigeria after exhausting all possible options.
4. The popular and available job as a foreigner (at least 98%) is teaching and you must have a degree and TEFL.

This is my 2023 advice and not to make a wrong decision into 2024.
If you Like you take it, if you like ignore it.
FYI: Every day we deal with hundreds of Scammers in Vietnam now concerning Visa and work.
You’re right, it’s difficult to use Cambodia or laos unless you use a link, which is also very expensive.

You cannot convert a tourist visa, and u cannot do a visa run anymore or extend ur tourist visa thru (Cambodia and Laos) border anymore, unless u will fly down to India

Only business visa can be converted to work permit
You can also fly to Singapore.
Even Cambodia and Laos is still possible, but it’s now expensive because it’s now a case of MAN KNOWS MAN

My friend received this offer letter from a company based in Abidjan. After his cousin who is based in Abidjan informed him of vacancy in the company where he worked, he sent his details to his cousin who claimed to have close relationship with the HR department in the said company where he worked. My friend is sceptical about the genuity of the offer letter despite the full assurance from his cousin. So I brought it here for a wider view and opinions, the cousin told him that his job role and other informations will be made known to him when he gets there.
Please run; it’s a well coordinated scam.
I was scammed in Mali last year with the same procedure.
I was able to escape by the mercy of God.
My cousin joined some Ghanaians and Ivorians to scam me in Mali.
