DAramis:
I think, this is the summary of the whole point. When he asked them to back it up with German law, they stalls and divert the view by making it look like OP is being subjective in his posts rather than objective.

If at all, this is a diary of a Nigerian in Germany that the OP is going about posting, It would have been a different case scenario, for people to chip in their personal opinion.

Like someone said, it might be that some people countering him are Migration agents who profits from people's ignorance. To make sure that most people are in the dark about what is obtainable in Germany.

All in all, it is the personal decision of the OP to continue or not but I do hope that he will reconsider because of the fact that Posterity would be in his favour.

My personal opinion.
Exactly how I see it. Some of them never even left Nigeria or been to germany but they came here to argue with no knowledge. OP is talking about his experience as a black men in Germany and someone who never been to Germany is telling him he doesn't know what he's saying. That girl has never stepped foot in Germany but she's arguing about racism in Germany.

No, it's because you don't want to help or have the passion to help others.

Did you not get help here before you travel? Many of us are still here 10yrs down the line even with daily dose of insults.
Beside Ive also offered information here but seeing how this one went am glad I did not waste my time. I see you removed many comments that explained the situation but you left the ones that attacked the OP. Clearly u have your own agenda. See how one person who was here asking questions and the OP was kind to answer them. That same person came back to call the OP weak and insult him and turned their back against him. Nigerian problem 101

Dude people are allowed to disagree with the op or have different opinions, it's a healthy thing in any civilised society, even if their opinions are wrong they are within their rights to express them. A long as this is done politely then I don't see any issue with this.

A lot more people here support the op and some will not, that is how life is.

You don't have to live in Germany to have an opinion.
Yes they can disagree with the OP but this an INFORMATION thread and many things the OP said is based on the laws which people coming to Germany should be aware of. If they want to disagree with the OP they should also OFFER INFORMATION that's backed up by the law. The people who attacked the OP did not offer any information. They just came to tell him to get off his high horse. Looking at their profile you can see that they have a history of trolling and attacking people on this forum. Anybody living in Germany should know that everything is done by the law.
TravelRe: Being Black In Berlin/germany by emeka55: 3:15am On May 20, 2020
Typical Nigerians. They have drained the OP and used him to get what they want. Now they kicked him to the curb. Even the ones asking him to come back you're only interested in the information, u are not standing up for him. This is why some of us in Germany don't like to come here and help others.

@Danielhouston if u are reading this you have done a great job and people will not forget u. Just focus on your life and leave this people alone they don't deserve you

This thread will be boring if you have everyone reading your posts on your side, some will definitely have different opinion to your narrative and honestly i don't see anything wrong with that as long as its done politely.

The Issue of racism/immigration is a touchy topic and people's experiences differs, you will be challenged whether you are for or against racism/immigration .

I don't want to start hiding or banning people(expect the rude ones) just because they disagreed with you.

You are more than capable to engage them constructively without war of words.
I'm disappointed u wuld say this. Anybody who reads this thread can see that the different opinion u are talking about are not really different opinion. They r people who just came here to cause confusion and don't know what they're talking about. They don't even live in Germany or know the law. I live in Germany and the OP has said nothin but the truth. Im even wowed by his knowledge cos some of us in Germany are also learning from it. This thread is not for entertainment or to argue. Anybody that has a different opinion should at least quote the law as the OP is doing. Opinion will not help anybody travel to Germany. It is only what is in the law.
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by emeka55: 9:31am On Sep 15, 2014
I see a lot of sugar coating here. Other people contributed to Kunlelikeme's question and I did not quote them. Why I quoted Honorableseyi was because he gave a very wrong advice or suggestion like he said that could cause visa rejection for that guy.
I simply said "Pls don't give advice without experience" before he came all ghetto on me.
U guys think there is glory attached to being famous on a thread where people don't even know u outside of.
I am not bothered about Honourableseyi because he's the least of my problems and I've gone too far in life to take ink and keypad seriously.

When someone who has nothing to gain dedicates his time to help others he doesn't even know u, u guys think he wants attention.
I had not been on Nairaland for 5 months and that's how busy I can get but now I made out time to share with u guys by God's grace and this is what I get.
I spoke with some of our Oga on the phone to ask them why they don't contribute on the thread and this was what they complained about, now I can see it.

For some reason, I believe Honourableseyi spoke the minds of many of u. I may be slow but I know when to leave a party. I wish u all good luck in your endeavour.
Germany will favour u like it has favoured us and God's success will be with u.

If u mean after your interview, there is no specific number of days. They probably wouldn't even forward your application to Germany without seeing a confirmation of account. Perhaps now they can start processing your application after they have got the confirmation
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by emeka55: 8:11pm On Sep 14, 2014
honourableseyi: Can you see that you can't differentiate what experience is? Because you used sponsorship letter? Hahahahaha did the embassy write to you to clarify where you will be schooling and living and where your sponsor is living too with document or any other proof? I believe this answer is NO. Yes you are right, I should have waited for you to comment on it before anybody does because you are the only one that has used sponsorship letter to get visa and you are the only intelligent person on this forum that knows it all. Thank God you are not Eke40seven, abiegirl, ebele, Godson, Topeaji and host of others(May God bless them for their hearts of humility) that have been giving advice here for ages, but still listen to others and give them room to air their views. If you want to contest for the president of this thread, no one is dragging it with you, go on and make yourself one but not over me. The owner of the post is asking for advice and suggestions, but you are saying it is not good to give suggestions? Do you work at the embassy or you have the embassy at the palm of your hand? Now where is your own fact that will solve the situation? How can u tell him to tell his cousin to mail the embassy and tell them he will handle to cost of him shuttling from Frankfurt to Kleve for lectures everyday?. You lack the comprehension of my post, that is why you are saying this. This is the extract from my post. Can you ask your cousin to mail the embassy and tell them that he is aware of the situation that he is going to take care of the accommodation and some other basic needs that may arise during the shuttling of Kleve and Frankfurt. Now taking care of the shuttling is not about going to school from there everyday but during the holiday when he will come back to Frankfurt and after the holiday when he will go back to Kleve. Even an insane man will know that it is not possible for someone to be shuttling 300km everyday to study. The mail I advised his brother to send and why I said that he is aware of the situation is that, it will not look as if he (Kunle)is the one to rent the house, hotel or other basic needs with his money, it's the duty of his brother going by the book since officially( or is it the meaning of "officially" that is confusing you) it's his cousin that is sponsoring him. He has said that, he will be coming to his cousin's place during the holiday, do you want him to tell them he didn't say that again? Abeg park well with your facts that are not visible.
Lol...smh...

honourableseyi: Do you know the meaning of advice and suggestion? Have you experienced what he is passing through now first hand? I don't want to split out what is in me so that I will not derail this thread. Go back to his first post on this particular issue, read and digest it may be you will understand my own point of view better. Beside, the last time I checked, I thou quoted you not. Shalom
Pls have a stadium full of seats. What is in you that u want to split out? Mtcheeew! Mtcheewer! Mtcheewest!!
How can u tell him to tell his cousin to mail the embassy and tell them he will handle to cost of him shuttling from Frankfurt to Kleve for lectures everyday?
Don't be so fast to hop on questions like a grasshopper when u don't have basic answers.
Responses on this thread are based on FACTS and not suggestions. FYI, I used sponsorship letter.
Answering question is not by force neither is there an award attached to it. Duh!

damsamty16: House please is it possible to get a visa 7days after interview if acct already funded before the interview?
It all depends on the city in Germany where your application was sent to. Some are fast and some are slow but 7 days exactly is exaggerated. I got mine after 9 days (minus weekend)

Hey I remember u... I'm really happy u got through to this point. Send a mail to your school ASAP and tell them to send you a confirmation on extension of resumption. Tell them the situation.
The embassy will surely ask u during your interview

bissiejoe: Take any hard copy of ur email communication to the embassy, even if it is not a positive response. It shows you have been trying to get accomodation and probably also tell her that some landlords you called want you to be in germany first to see the apartment.
Very correct.

kunlelikeme: @ILLUMINATI....i am confused o,so that means they have not sent my application to their foreign office at all......this is scary o....i dont even know what to do now.because i have not secured any accomodation yet because i have not been getting any positive responses from all the landlords i have sent mail to.what do you think i can do in this kind of situation?...please give me suggestions.....the hotels i want to book is requesting for my credit cards and also should i put the address of the school as where to stay?because i really dont understand that VO anymore o.i told her i will be arriving at my cousin's place then from there he will rent an apartment for me in kleve......pls guys just give me suggestions....this thing wan dey tire me sef
Before your cousin applied for the sponsorship letter, he would be asked about your welfare and where u would be staying. This information is also included on the sponsorship letter.
U should have told the VO that u have applied for accommodation with your school's studetenwerk and u are waiting to hear from them. Period!
U must have said too many contradicting things that made it questionable.
It does not matter what city your school is and where your sponsor lives. U don't have to live with him during holidays. He can send u whatever help u need no matter where u are.

Just reply the VO and tell her u have applied for a student hostel and u have contacted some landlords too. Don't write anything about going to your cousin's house. Go straight to school.
Even if u will stay in a hotel when u first arrive, the hotel should be in your school area.

Don't show so much ties to your cousin especially when he has his permanent residence.
Prove that u want to study and return home and your cousin is only sponsoring your stay during your studies.
You can also include that your cousin is giving u a stipulated amount every month for your welfare and rent.

They know some people who have families in Germany that can provide them sponsorship letter, use school as a way of entering Germany and then their families will handle the rest for them till Jesus comes. Be wise
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by emeka55: 7:25pm On Sep 13, 2014
honourableseyi: My observation. Your cousin is the one responsible for your spending officially. Though I know unofficially it is not so. But don't you think "I will" in your statement will look as if you are the one sponsoring yourself yet without block account? Reframe the letter, let everything you are going to write point to your cousin as your sponsor. Remove "I will do this, I will do th at". Officially, all your responsibilities in germany have been placed on your cousin. Shalom
Pls don't give advice without experience. Visa application is a serious issue that can deter someone's ambition.
It does not matter if the sponsor lives in Berlin and his school is in Gottingen. As long as the sponsor lives in Germany, he can live in Kleve where his school is.
Saying that it would look as if he is just using his cousin for sponsorship letter and he should reframe his letter because they won't be living in the same place is totally wrong.
The embassy just wants to see how informed he is. They know for sure he can get his cousin's help no matter where he lives. Living with his cousin while his school is in Kleve only shows that he does not intend to stay in school.
Everything he writes should not point to his sponsor. The sponsor is only liable for giving him money to sustain himself and should not make choices for him.

If everything is centered on his sponsor then his intentions are arguable. Remember the sponsor is his "Cousin" which is already a red light that he may not return after studies cos he knows someone there that can show him the way.

Eke40seven: Good morning everybody, the interview continues
@emeka55, is back! One with one of the most anticipated comments on the thread. God bless ya brother. Before we start, please, can you tell us what region in Germany you are schooling or state if you may.
Your comments are more than enlightening and here are further questions.

6. In your opinion, do you think a hard working Nigerian student with a particular result can maintain his/her academic performance in Germany with the same efforts? A scale will be appreciated, I know time is not the only or the best measure of hard work but For instance,
A spends 6 hours of study everyday in Nigeria, GPA=4
". ". ". ". ". ". ". in Germany GPA=?

7. Like in any society, there are distractions or factors that reduces performance, what are the major culprits in Germany for an unenlightened Nigerian JJC?

8. Most of the male or even females at one time or the other would have fantasized having a German Prince or princess, what are their chances? Do the shy Germans gals take to Nigerians? Can ebele17(f), get her prince charming easily?

9. List 5 most important items an intending new comer should bring along to Germany.

10. Am going to post something after this about some common stereotypes about Germany that I posted in another thread.

P.s. I understand that these questions may be too much to answer at a go, you can answer them bit by bit at your convenience if its gonna take its toll on you. Thank you.
Ogbeche did a great job answering the questions.
Just to add a few... I won't tell u not to get carried away after u arrive Germany because there are so many amazing things that would blow your mind away. It is a whole new level of freedom and u should experience it out of curiosity.
It is not good to be over-enlightened or over-advised about a new place u are going to. Some things are better experienced and some mistakes are worth making. It is part of the fun.
I would just say that u should be conscious of your spending especially with eating outside. U will see things with price tags 1.50€, 2.65€, 4.99€ and you will say it is cheap and u keep buying. At the end of the day u will realize you just spent 100€.

There are girls at your finger tips and most of them are just looking for fun out of the curiosity of what they heard or watched about black guys. It would take time before they trust that u don't love them for papers.
Some Germans have never been out of their region and are not exposed. Some may fall for your sweet mouth but they will always have an exposed friend that will enlighten them and warn them about you.

Whatever your flavour is, there is space for you. Whether u are straight, gayy, bi, fun is not something u have to buy Mr Biggs or recharge card before u enjoy.
Please be careful of diseases when u get here. Many people are living with HIV but they look so healthy and fine and u would never know. Many of them prefer to have bare fun without protection.

Come with a good smart phone and a laptop. Don't full your bag with heaps of clothes and unecessary things. U can buy them here.
For the ladies, if u have a specific make up item or cream u use, I advice you come with them because u may not find them here. The things sold here are made to suit their type of skin and u may not find what appeals to you.

First I would advice that you stop typing in abreviations. It shows a sign of laziness or unseriousness.
Check the University's website they have all the required documents there. You can notorize at a high court or German embassy. Find out about the cost yourself.
Before u apply to studienkollege u need to register with a German language school in Nigeria and have a certificate up to B1 at least. Which takes about a year to complete.
Good luck

Teflon1: Hello Emeka, i hv read almost all ur posts here, they are amongst d most enlightening ones here, direct, clear and from experience. I appreciate ur posts. I would like to ask about dat statement i boldened above (i hv tried to google stuff on it, without success):

(1) When one gets a visa and travels for a particular course in a university like an FH and on getting there wants to change to a similar course at like a TU...how does he go about it exactly (processes, setbacks involved)?

(2) Is it after finishing d 1st semester at d first univ. (d FH for instance) dat he can then apply for transfer to d other univ.(d TU for instance) to join dem in the 2nd semester with ur points earned from d initial school?

(3) Can one just decide to transfer from one univ. to another, even one dat he/she might normally hv been rejected for?

NB: considering univs. in the same state, different states, & courses slightly related, not too related. Thanks in advance.

@Eke, @naijaobi, @lacuna, @others i see u all...been seeing all ur inspiring/helpful comments, would appreciate ur comments also. Pls o, help me out...Thanks
If you arrive Germany and u want to change your University or course, it is advisable u conclude one semester at your present University. By then u must have got your residence permit and settled every paper work and all of these u must do with the University name indicated on your Visa.

Every university has its own system. Some will accept you transfer your first semester grades and allow you continue while some will ask that you start afresh.
Bear in mind however that for whatever University you are changing to, you have to re-apply like a beginner even if the process requires uni-assist.
Even if your previous grades will be transfered, that will be determined after you have applied and have been accepted.

There are no hurdles to face except that you have to go through the application process again and find a new house blah blah blah....
Also be sure to check with your present University before you make any move cos they could have partner Universities where u may not need all the stress or they may require you change after one year.

Ndyoo: ''2)As for world class health, yes everyone has to be under an insurance which covers your health needs. But............ if you are under 30, you have an advantage as you can take up a public health insurance which is more expensive but better than the private health insurance. I don't know about underlying health conditions.''

Beebee5000, In regards to this your post, I have few questions.

Why is the public health insurance good for the under 30 even though you said its expensive?

And why do you say the public health insurance is better than the private one?
Let me call the attention of Emeka55, as he may have an answer to this too. Oga Emeka, I read your last incisive post. Daalu rinne
That seems a little confusing. If u are a student in Germany or u are employed and you earn below 4,000€ a month then it is compulsory you take up public insurance (GKV) though your employer pays half and u pay half from your salary. If you earn above 4, 500€ or so per month then u have the option of choosing a private insurance known as PKV.
All students take public insurance.
Why the age issue is confusing is that some Germans who are unemployed go to take private insurance where they can pay cheaper like 35€ a month and then the company says u have to be 30 and above for the offer.
Some students register with these insurance companies online and pay 20-35€ a month but the thing is when u are sick or have health issues and u go with your card to a hospital they will tell u your insurance can afford u only panadol. So what's the point?
Public insurance is the best and for students. U pay up to 80€ a month and enjoy the benefits. There are some companies like AOK, TK etc but doctors say TK is the best.

THEN AV REQUESTED FOR ANY ADDITIONAL DOCUMENT FROM MY COURSE ADVISOR IN GERMANY.
THIS IS HOW I WISH TO APPEAL IT AND THINKING OF DOING IT THROUGH A RENOWNED LEGAL PRACTITIONER.
THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN AND GOD BLESS.
I'm sorry about the denial but why would you go through all that stress to apply for music? You are not a popular musician going for a training programme. You should have applied for another course then switch to music after u arrive Germany. That's what I keep saying. What matters more is your admission in a good course at a University. Even if it is not your dream course, as long as it gets u a visa, u can change after you arrive.
Besides to do proper music in Germany, u need good German language knowledge even if they tell u it is in English.
I personally have looked for music course in German universities and they mostly require German. Except it is a music school and not a university.
Music departments here only admit you by practical tests in music either by instrument or voice. It is a department for the gifted and not the intelligent or certificate holders.
The VO probably didn't take u seriously. I would advice u to forget about appealing and apply to another course then come back reinforced.

You did a good job telling her the truth cos she would have found out anyway. Schengen countries work together. Germans think like Igbo people and she understands the issue of fake bank statements. That was why they made blocked acct compulsory before visa for Nigerians. Getting a student visa that allows u close to 2yrs residence in Germany is no joke.
She would just check with the Swedish embassy if there is more to the story. The exam was to be sure u are not a desperate hustler. I hope u pass it.
