Make una no vex biko, it's just my nature to keep things till I accomplish them. Even my family never know say I don get the visa.
My interview experience was good. The fair igbo man at the gate almost spoilt my day as he was nagging. Finally I entered and went straight to reception. The dark lady there was helpful as she showed me how to properly arrange my documents even though she almost lost patience.
I already met the old lady at the reception while I was talking to the receptionist. Immediately the old lady saw me again, she just started shouting for no reason and I noticed she wanted to smile but she was forming strict.
The interview questions were the usual:
Why I chose Germany
why I chose my course
If my course can be studied in Nigeria
What I know about Germany and my school
What I intend to do after studying
If I made any attempt to learn german, (I said no)
Why I don't have my birth certificate: (I told her I couldn't find it and I was born before NPC was established so I couldn't have provided NPC and that was why I came with an Age Declaration)
Then means of finance...etc....

Abeg I don tire to type. After everything, I told her "Have a nice day" she said "I don't need ur prayer omo naija".
Just have ur documents complete and make the right photocopies before u get there. Also arrange them properly in 3 sets. When u are asked a question, be sure of what u say and don't miss words. Don't give 2 different answers to a question. Even if u are not sure of the question asked, just say something reasonable cos even the V.O sef may not know the right answer. If u keep quiet or bite ur tongue she'll know u are saying rubbish.
Also pls and pls, if u don't have eye problem, don't wear glass. Don't make them question ur identity and make sure u convince them u will return after ur studies. I got my visa after a week and some days.
I am a banker and even with my busy schedule, I try to stay in touch. Even if I get to Germany, I'll always find time to contribute my quota to the thread as long as I have internet cos I learned a lot here. I am grateful to everyone here, u guys are wonderful

Thanks bro, I applied to some of them directly and the others through Uni-assist. I actually applied to upto 15 schools and got rejected by 11 schools. I expanded my scope and didn't limit myself to one course. The first admission I got was from Bielefeld to study Sociology and later from Heilbron.
University of Marburg actually rejected me at first, later when those that were admitted did not take up the admission cos they probably chose another school, that was when Marburg now sent me a mail that they reviewed my application again and decided to give me a conditional admission. I just told them to keep their admission that I wasn't interested.
Basically, of all the schools I applied through uni-assist, the only ones I got admitted to were kassel and Marburg.

I encourage u guys applying for admission not to limit urself to just ur desired course of study. Expand ur research and don't really trust the email replies u get from some schools. Anybody on duty can read and reply ur email and what they tell u may not be the only solution.
I sent an email to kassel and they told me I wasn't eligible to apply to that course. Yet I still applied anyway and got admitted.
Also, even if they tell u they want 1st class students only, don't mind them and still apply. Just apply, apply, apply! All it will cost u is money to certify documents and u can use Nipost to send them like I did mine (be sure u have enough time o).
Even if u don't have the relevant courses mentioned on the school's website, still apply and get a good motivation letter. Sometimes, those that were admitted may not take up the admission and they'll consider u.
Finally, put everything in prayer and have faith. I almost gave up but I kept trying till I got it.

@ Chidiadi, I don't really know how to help u cos I didn't apply for Engineering. I think u should start from searching for schools online and then going through their websites on the application process. Also read through the thread a little

Ah lol... E don tay na. I had admission from 4 Universities since last year winter sef: Bielefeld, Heilbron, Marburg and the one I told Captain about, Kassel. I deffered 2 of them and I already got 3 of the admission letters. I got my visa in December but I'll be here till March cos of work and na April my school dey resume. Make una no vex, I'm not very used to talking abt my success story but I'll be glad to share knowledge every way that I can.

The deadline to the application for the school is on 15th Jan.. I have been a member on thus thread for a while and came across a post some time that when you apply to uni.assist it takes 14days for them to do somthing.. and I don't have 14 days.

Even though u don insult me 4 dis thread, lemme just over-look it and share my contribution.
I actually applied to Uni-assist on the day of the University's deadline and still got admitted. I filled the form online, downloaded it after submitting it online and I sent it via inbox to my friend in Germany he did a rough signature and he took directly to Uni-assist' office and after a month, I got an admission letter from the school.
The thing is, University's deadline is not the same as uni-assist. Ur school's deadline may be Jan 15 but uni-assist deadline is different. What uni-assist means is that ur documents must arrive their office on or before ur school's deadline, that's all.
They have their own deadlines with partner Universities even if it takes 2 weeks to access ur document, that's not ur problem as long as u sent it on or before ur school's deadline. Just make sure u use a fast post mail like Dhl or Ems

Happy New year everybody. May this new year bring us goodnews and testimonies. Germany will not change it's policy against us and every new procedure/rule will favour us in 2014. Amen!

The first important part is getting admission Bsc or Msc (which ever one is applicable to u), then open the blocked account or provide DOS, and then apply for ur visa... Visa application could take up to a month in all.
The douments are straight forward, check the University's website for relevant documents needed and the Embassy website for requirements on study visa. For admission, they are basically Waec, Bsc, transcript (certified), motivation letter. U can search for schools at www.daad.de or www.mastersportal.eu.
It's better u direct further questions to the house, so that others can share their contributions too cos I don't know it all.

How old are u? 12? It seems to me like money was wasted already especially when a young aspiring student like u cannot take time to do some research. U want someone to sit down and give u a "comprehensive" list of free schools? See how u listed the questions like it was our end of the year exams. Some of u need to understand that this thread is not a customer service centre.

E be like say agent chop ur money well well for that US visa. For German student visa, u don't need an agent as the process is straight forward and simple. As for the 8040 euro, it can be replaced by the Verpflichtungserklärung. If ur wife to be is getting u that, then u don't need to provide 8040 euro. As for ur love life, I don't know about that one cos I'm not a marriage counsellor. For information about German student visa, u may have to read through the thread and get all the info u need. If u are not clear about anything, u can come back to ask us

Not fully correct.just googled PGD ïn mech eng and i found TUD (university of dresden). Only prob though, its taught ïn German for 5 semestrs ( 2 yrs +). i just think he should go thru daad wit a fyn toothed comb send enquiry emails to some of these schools, even those offering masters. He might be surprised at their response, he could also include his transcript to these emails. My MSC program admitted people wit no science background, for a course that needed basic knowldge of science and envi sci, just because of their career interest and their well crafted letter. Germans are pretty open minded. So, he could be lucky, only need to try.

How many Universities in Germany offer PGD and to international students? Your MSC prgram admitted people with no science background, was it without BSc? If u don't have a Bsc, u can't do masters in Germany. He attended a Polytechnic, it wasn't like his CGPA was low. Even if Wole Soyinka writes a motivation letter for u, without Bsc u can't qualify for masters. Are u advicing him to go do a PGD fully taught in german in TUD for 2yrs plus 1yr and he'll spend learning german up to B2 instead of simply applying for an English taught Bsc program? Oh Jesus be a fence!

@Luckchild, first point of correction, change that "we fell in love" to "she fell in love" because u no follow am fall in love. U just wan use am enter Germo. This ur topic is quite delicate for a public forum cos u don't know who's reading it.
First question, is she truly interested in u? And is she truly serious to come down here to marry u. Sometimes they may not really mean what they say online and could just be playing along or be acting up cos she saw ur n.ude picture.

Second question: what's her financial status? Does she have enough money to help u go through the whole process and cater for u? I'm sure at this point, her age or looks don't matter to u.

Third question: Are u ready to face the consequencies of an arrangee marriage? It's not as creamy as it looks cos she may help u get there and still help get u deported. U can only get a visa from here but the main relevant documents that would help u remain there, u have to get from there and she knows the system more than u. U would have to do what she says and serve her until she's done with u. U may try to get her pregnant to help ur status, if she decides not to have ur baby, even juju won't help u. If u get there and divorce her, na u go suffer am except u have enough money to back it up cos everything you'll have will be divided.

....MY ADVICE.....

Since u said u once applied for US student visa, it means u get brain for book and school dey ur agenda even if u no wan go am. Apply through education, get admitted to a school in Germany and have her sponsor u by providing Verpflichtungserklärung and when u get ur visa, the rest for u is puff puff & chinchin. At least with 2yrs German visa u can sought urself out.
The same time you'll spend pursuing couple/reunion visa, learning deutsch nd sewing wedding gown to get married in Ikeja high court, u fit use am get admission to 5 schools.

How easy is it getting into German postgraduate med training. I'm currently applying for molecular medicine msc at Ulm , Jenna and Hannover in order to test the waters.
Secondly, must your sponsor be in Germany? What if one's visa is denied after depositing the 8k euros into the blocked account, would one get a refund? Besides, why is it called a blocked account? Does it mean it can't be used even in Germany?

Don't know about the medical field.
Ur sponsor must be resident in Germany and should be earning at least 1,500 euro per month. Resident goes beyond just living in Germany, he/she must have German residency.
It is called blocked acct cos u don't control the amount u want withdraw. Once the money is deposited, the bank takes charge of the account and gives u a monthly amount of 670 euro which sums it up for a year.
If u are denied visa, u can email/write the bank either through the embassy or personally with relevant documents needed to close the account and with time, ur money will be returned to u. It is stated on the blocked acct website.
And yes, u can withdraw ur money in Germany. Abi if u no withdraw am for Germany, na China u wan go withdraw am?

ibn akogun: Saw someone complaining the same thing and somebody advised him to use his to whom issued by his school and I used my to whom too. But ours is not sending through mail. But uploading your document on the account created for you on registration by the school. Thanks man...

Congrats. U used a "To whom it may concern" letter in place of ur transcript? What did the letter contain? Pls share o so others can learn. Both blocked acct and DOS are recognised. The only diff is that blocked acct helps u manage money when u get there

I guess by authenticate u mean "Certify" if that's what u mean, it can be done at either the German embassy or a notary public/high court. Embassy- free of charge, Court- u go pay

The copy u downloaded from their portal does it look like an original or photocopy? Is the letter heading, signature and stamp/logo in colour or black and white? If it is in colour, u can print it out in colour on a concord paper (milk colour) and use it. If they ask u at the embassy, tell them it's the original copy. Sometimes the original copy from the school takes up to 2months sef b4 it gets to u cos of the mail post they used. Abi ur school dey use DHL?

Thanks @ Aroyem4u for your contribution but here is it, the school made me make my semester contribution from here as they stated in their email that, I MUST have to make my semester contribution (298.50 Euros) before they can send me the semester documents needed for my visa application hence, I had to ask my wife to help me pay that from France which they recently confirmed. So now, I asked for my semester documents and the admission officer said, she would send them in by Monday via email or if I want, via post of which I am waiting for by that Monday to receive them cos, I told her to send via email and then also post. Please, can I use the documents sent via email to apply for visa or I would have to wait to receive the originals from Germany first before I would do my visa application?

I'm a lil confused abt ur school's process. However, u don't have to wait to receive ur original ID card and other documents before u apply for visa. What's most important is your original admission letter whether conditional or unconditional. If u have ur original admission letter, u could use it. Some school's don't understand the visa process applicable to different countries and I know student ID and semester fee is required during the registration process and not important for visa.
What the embassy needs is ur admission letter. U can provide semester fee receipt and ID and registration papers and yet still be rejected by the embassy if ur intentions are not clear.

@ Dannie-moore, I had to read ur post 5 times to be sure b4 some people will charge me to hight court for wrong answer.
From what I understand, the first letter given to u was not conditional and u seemed to have met all the requirements, which was why they had u confirm if u were taking up the admission or not. Some Universities do that, and some request for all those things during registration and not admission. Hence u have sent ur documents and paid the semester fee, I'm guessing u have registered as a student already. Abi dem wan chop ur money and give u ID card and still give u conditional admission? Just be patient till they send all that's required and then apply for ur visa. If u carry half done food go apply for visa, the embassy will confirm from the school if u met all the requirements they need and if otherwise, ur name na sorry. U have been admitted already, just be patient.

Asking because, my school has sent me only conditional admission letter and yet to send admission papers + student ID card as they have stated.

This is a brilliant question. First questions is: under what conditions were u admitted? Was it for u to fulifil a language requirement or u have to complete ur total credit points? Most naija Bsc have 180 ects while most German Universities require 210 ects but they admit students with a condition of completing the remaining 30 ects during their masters program. The University didn't expect u to meet the condition from Nigeria so, the embassy should not complain.
Except u had a deficiency in ur application documents or u are required to provide Toefl/ielts etc... Before the application deadline or before registration then na dat one embassy go ask u question. If otherwise, u should be fine. I took time to explain this for others in the same shoe as well... Other people can add their contributions as well.

Most people who got admitted for Msc didn't require any English proof or exam as most Universities in Germany don't require it from Nigerians. The reason u are having difficulty finding a University that doesn't require it is because u are applying for Summer semester and there are not too many Unis that admit in summer. If winter semester draws near, u will find over 100 Universities available to u.

However maybe if u mention the course u are applying for, we can help u out.
Rhine Waal requires proof of English from Nigerians, even if u get a letter from Goodluck Jonathan, dem no go look ur face. Dem just dey shine cos most courses no open for summer.
