Truth must be told, ngige is intruding just to gain cheap sympathy from some myopic igbos who'll mistake as a true igbo son, but, he's doing from a clear anti igbo party.
You might be right; but faced with his unique circumstance, what would you expect him to do? Lie low?
Politics is about perpetuation; and that requires creativity or daring! I dont fancy him nor envy, just watching his dexterous game.

PoliticsShould ACN Make Ngige Party Chairman? by emekagh(op): 11:28pm On Jun 03, 2011
From Wikipedia

, Ngige turned to politics, becoming a founding member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). By 1999, he was Assistant National Secretary and Zonal Secretary of PDP in the South East region of the country. Elected in 2003 under controversial circumstances, he quickly broke ranks with his self-styled "political godfather" after an unsuccessful attempt on 10 July 2003 to illegally remove him from office through a fabricated letter of resignation which the state assembly accepted. A Nigerian Federal Court of Appeal affirmed the nullification of Ngige's purported 2003 election victory on 15 March 2006. This was after a lower election court(election Tribunal led by Justice Nabaruma had in August 2005 nullified his 2003 victory. The court declared that Peter Obi, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was the bona fide winner of the election.[citation needed]

However, this nullification has not diminished Ngige's popularity as he spent the 33 months in office executing populist, people-oriented programmes especially road construction. Ngige had accepted the court ruling as the court of appeal was the terminal court in governorship election petitions and to save the state further crises arising from the support given his traducers by the Obasano-led federal government. An attempt to participate in Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducted 'Governorship election' in the state in April 2007 was frustrated by INEC in complicity with the federal authorities through a dubious 'disqualification'even after a Federal High Court had voided the disqualification.[citation needed]

Ngige ran for election in the April 2011 elections for Senator for Anambra Central, on the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) platform. After voting problems in some areas of the constituency on 9 April, the election in these areas was held on 25 April and Ngige was declared winner over former Minister of Information and Communications Professor Dora Akunyili of the PDP. He scored 69,765 votes while Akunyili scored 69,292 votes.[2]
With the aspirations of ACN to become a National Party, do we think the outspoken, astute, and dogged Chris Ngige is the missing link ACN needs?
Thoughts, ?
PoliticsRe: Pdp Should Return Chairmanship Slot To Southeast, Says Ngige by emekagh(m): 11:21pm On Jun 03, 2011
By the way, I think while speaking out against PDP and their crazy stuff, Ngige should be aiming for the Party Chairmanship of ACN. Afterall, ACN want to be a national party. Who is better able as national chairman, than their first major recruit outside their zone - Dr. Chris Ngige - Owaaaaa!
PoliticsRe: Pdp Should Return Chairmanship Slot To Southeast, Says Ngige by emekagh(m): 10:57pm On Jun 03, 2011
Gbawe:
This is very dissapointing from Ngige. As a prominent ACN member , he has no business telling the PDP how they should conduct their internal Party affairs . It is never done anywhere in the World by opposition politicians. He cannot really view himself as ideologically opposed to the PDP when he is highly concerned , to the point he speaks out openly, with who the ruling party appoint to certain positions.
Lol, ideology ko, ideology ni! what nonsense ideology are some of you guys ranting about? What is this ACN ideology that no one has been able to place a finger upon? Ngige was voted in by the SE not SW, his primary allegiance lies with his people; he needs to protect the interest of 'his people'; and if it means dabbling into PDP affairs like Peter Obi and co, so be it! ACN interest comes a distant second. And to the extent that ACN's so called ideology becomes a hindrance, to such extent does it become a nullity as far as Ngige and his people's interest are concerned. He is thinking globally, but acting locally. Or is it SW/Yoruba that will return him to power, or give him the needed political base? Ngige is a smart man; the one man squad who stare down obj. He knows what he is doing.

If the party  (ACN) has issues with him, let them voice it. All these noise against Ngige by Nairalanders is what the late C. Okadigo called "ranting of ants!"' Ride on, Ngige! Nothing do you!

Desola:
does ACN not have a chief whip?
lol, the whip has either sold to PDP by Tinubu in his last trip to Abuja, or he is rather using it to whip his boys to toe the PDP's House Speaker zoning.
So dont be surprise when against all said, ACN will vote the PDP candidate for the HS. Lying bast/ards! lol

You just revealed how biased you could get concerning ACN affairs in the same stead you accuse others . . .  Those loads you pulled up there is sad . . . An ACN senator , suddenly picking an interest in the PDP zoning system often seen to be an anti- merit approach to political positions by the majority including the ACN is now endorsed by Dayokanu. just because an ACN henchman is involved . . .A good post to keep in the archive when you suddenly swirl to take a swipe at Non- ACN political figures
The same the leadership of ACN are now hobnobbing with PDP/GEJ the so called darkness! Ngige is expressing his right of freedom of speech in a party with not internal democracy.

You really can not trust ibo people, they have no sense of allegiance, I see this dude dumping the ACN for the PDP. PDP internal affairs should be the last thing on his mind and unfortunately, that's been his preoccupation since right after the elections. What about promoting his party's ideal and start delivering on behalf of his people.

It's like no matter what, ibo folks are always distracted, misplace their priorities and obligations. They are in the political wilderness because of silly double dealings and shady games this guy is displaying.
Madam, no-sense-of-allegiance happened when ACN/Yoruba dumped Ribadu during the presidential election. That was the most unkindest cut!

Katsumoto:
You have to learn to separate the wheat from the chaff. It is sometimes difficult for a party to prevent a lawmaker from making an utterance; sure it may deal with such a lawmaker subsequently. Individual lawmakers from both sides of the political divide made silly and incendiary remarks. Such remarks are made by those who are seeking to connect with their constituents. If a senator from Alabama takes a hardline position towards Obama, should constituents in California be concerned? When agreements are being made, who loses out? Is it the American people in general or the senator and his constituents? Should you be concerned about what an ordinary congressman said when the speaker has taken a position based on an concensus reached with party leadership?

What matters at the end of the day is the position taken by the party leadership. The Republicans may not even reach an agreement with Obama but at least, there must be an avenue for both sides to put their positions forward.
After being declared winner of the April 16 presidential election, President Jonathan called on the opposition to support him, saying he would form an all-inclusive government.

But ACN National Chairman Chief Bisi Akande said yesterday that ideological differences with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will not allow his party to join forces with the President.“It is not possible for ACN to work with the PDP; it’s like pairing the light with darkness. ACN will never work in any PDP government,” Akande said. He was in company with national leader of the party Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and spokesman Lai Mohammed at the Murtala Muhammed airport in Lagos, on their arrival from Abuja.
http://actioncongressnigeria.org/2011/05/05/acn-cpc-to-reject-unity-govt/

So in other words, the clowns speaking above are not the leadership of the party?

Bottom-line my friend, ACN/Tinubu are flip-flopping; whether is it good or bad, is a different issue. That's has been my argument all along. So pls over to you, 'learn to separate the wheat from the chaff.'

Not bad. But I'd rather be exporting expensive chocolate than raw cocoa.
You are right, but I rather we do both. It's doesn't hurt to export the excess.

@Topic,

Good development, I however yearn for the good old days when we topped the chart! Better days are coming back.
Government should support the cocoa farmers with incentives such as improved seed, sprays, health insurance policy,
etc. Anything that will revive interest in the second-biggest foreign exchange earner in the country.

Nice one!

I don't know why some people take it upon themselves to swallow painkillers for another man's perceived headache.
Why should the writer ask Igbo to protest when they are generally pleased.

If the writer feel strongly aggrieved, he should air his grievance without dragging the Igbos into it (same applies to other posters). Jonathan has made his choice, and should be accountable for his choice. SGF is not a elected position.

Personally, I believe the choice of Pius Ayim is good for Nigeria. I don't share the writer's sentiment!
PoliticsRe: Acn Will Not Turn Down Ministerial Offer From Gej by emekagh(m): 6:14pm On Jun 03, 2011
Katsumoto:
On Tuesday, Obama (a democrat) met with the Republican members of Congress in the White House to discuss America's debt ceiling and debt reduction strategies. Politics is a game of compromise; butting heads is antithetic to development. In most advanced democracies, parties have certain sacrosanct philosophies that they wont bargain with and then there are other issues that are they willing to bargain with so as to get other things that they want. There is nothing wrong about Tinubu and other party chiefs meeting the President. Speculating about what was discussed is just plain silly.
Meanwhile, the Republicans moaned, screamed, shouted, and told everyone that cared to listen, that they will have nothing to do with the Democrats after Obama won?
PoliticsRe: Acn Will Not Turn Down Ministerial Offer From Gej by emekagh(m): 10:04am On Jun 03, 2011
Gbawe:
Your analysis , aside being very flawed, are clearly partisan, non-factual and more of the beer parlour variety that is always routinely devoid of balance or objectivity. Unless you have the transcript of the actual meeting between GEJ, Tinubu and others then any objective person will conclude that you and others are merely biased with how you are quick to malign the ACN here. GEJ and the Party bosses could have talked of anything . In advanced democracy the Government always meets to brainstorm with the opposition where issues of National importance are concerned. It is Nigerians, brought up on a diet of rancorous "do or die" politics to the point of indoctrination, who will be quick to read meaning into a meeting of Party leaders when they are not at all privy to what was discussed.
Keep deluding yourself.
PoliticsRe: Acn Will Not Turn Down Ministerial Offer From Gej by emekagh(m): 9:22am On Jun 03, 2011
Gbawe:
can you or anyone prove that it is ministerial appointment , specifically to be given out to the ACN, that GEJ summoned Tinubu and Ngige for? If Mikeansy and Emeka-gh cannot prove that case then they are simply pandering to the notion of "giving the dog a bad name to hang it" because Tinubu , like other leaders , deserves the benefit of the doubt when he accepted the iinvitation to meet GEJ. His motives could be altruistic and it would be the most partisan observer who would suggest otherwise from the fact we actually have.

GEJ could simply be seeking the input of Tinubu and others . There is no conclusive proof there was any horsetrading here enough for anyone to malign  the ACN of wrongdoing. Tinubu met GEJ . We are not privy to what was discussed . How is it then logical to support those who want to make conclusions based on ignorance?  Lets be fair and work on what we know and not what we assume . besides, go and check and you will see that Tinubu never ruled out working with the FG. The man specifically stated that , if there is sincerity of purpose, then the ACN is always ready to join others to move Nigeria forward.
Read:

GEJ:    ACN come and join my Government:
ACN:  We will not join your Government.
ACN:  No ACN elected members should support PDP in the National Asembly
ACN:  No ACN member should take up any post in GEJ government
EFFC: ***** Picks up Tinubu file at the bureau and starts dusting it ****
TINUBU/ACN: ****Rushes  to a Abuja for a (secret/not secret) meeting with GEJ
TINUBU: ACN will not turn down ministerial appointment

GBAWE: ACN is not flip-flopping
GBAWE: ACN motive is altruistic

PoliticsRe: Northern Leaders Plot Secret Coup Against Jonathan by emekagh(m): 10:41pm On Jun 02, 2011
Kobojunkie:
These people should cut the bull already!! Elections are over . . . they need to stop DEMONIZING the north and pretending some OJUJU is still after this man. This is what they got the whole nation focused on for a whole year, during which Jonathan was able to get away with doing next to nothing in the area of credible achievement, but still got gullible Nigerians to vote him back.
Over 22 million 'gullible' Nigerians voted for GEJ, while over 12 million edioots voted for the Jihadist. Now how about that?
Eat you heart out my dear, GEJ is the president, move on already!
PoliticsRe: Acn Will Not Turn Down Ministerial Offer From Gej by emekagh(m): 10:17pm On Jun 02, 2011
Gbawe:
I think some of you just talk for the sake of it while others , perhaps those from his region, feel that because they support GEJ (and by default the PDP) they must now casually demonize the ACN. Do you follow our politicians beyond their utterances? Do you , for example, know of the diligence of the ACN legislators in comparision to the majority PDP legislators? If you did and you focus on actual deeds you would know that the ACN is far different to the PDP in ideology . It is like night and day. While the ACN has many individuals desirous of moving Nigeria forward , and we see this with their actual conducts, the PDP , as reiterated by the USA, is mainly a congregation of folks who have gotten together for self-interest alone.
There is nothing wrong with my comment. The fact remains that ACN is flip-flopping; changing their positions on every comment at the least opportunity. Secondly, there is nothing 'regional' about my comment. Your blind alliance to regional sentiment is one of your greatest Achilles heels.

What is demonising about stating the obvious? ACN has said severally that they wont join the GEJ government, perhaps money has changed hand; or Tinubu has now benefited immensely from the 'benevolence' of the 'evil' PDP; that he can now romance openly with the devil.

But like I said, your blind alliance to ACN will not allow you to think rationally, hence your haste to defend ACN, and attack those who think otherwise.

And please spare me the load of crap about ACN having individuals desirous of moving Nigeria forward. Which silly forward are they moving Nigeria to? This:

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-673905.0.html
?

Cos those are the kind of junks (Tinubu inclusive) hiding behind Fashola in your beloved ACN.

I have nothing against ACN, but please stop this holier than though attitude about ACN. We know a lot of PDP governors that are doing very well in their states. ACN is no saint, and no less corrupt than PDP, especially as long as crooks like Tinubu hold sway.

And finally, talking too much on Nairaland does not make you an authority on  this sort of debate any other at that.

Enjoy!
PoliticsRe: Acn Will Not Turn Down Ministerial Offer From Gej by emekagh(m): 10:12am On Jun 02, 2011
ACN is just flip-floping; changing their position on a daily bases. The so call ideological differences btw ACN and PDP is non-existent. They are both bird of a feather. Tinubu need work with GEJ if only to cover his corrupt ar/se.
