MrBigiman:
Your dad is a noble man just like us, I respect him even though I don't know him. However, u are a Johesu member and I have no regard whatsoever for Nigerian health workers. My wife happens to be a Nurse and she will never do the rubbish u guys are doing here, because she is a true professional and I love her 100times over.
My son will study pharmacy.

Medical doctors should leave nurses alone oo, they should be comfortable with their lady doctors and be marrying them. What nonsense is this?

An Engineer has the technical know-how, the artisans, laborers and masons do the physical aspect.

Same applies to Doctors and Nurses! cool
See this quack doctor that probably was allowed to graduate out of pity because he has spent uncountable years in school. So you compare nurses with artisans, laborers and masons? It is the likes of this quack doctor that encourage quackry in the nursing profession by training the so called auxiliary nurses and give them white uniform to wear with red and blue pens in their breast pocket. Doctors are actually the problem in our health institutions.

Nonsense, if you want to earn like a doctor, go and read medicine and surgery and become one. Rubbish
Medicine and Sorry u mean? Most Nigerian doctors don't have it. Just few doctors in this country know what they are doing. Others are try your luck.
HealthJohesu Esut Teaching Hospital To Join Strike by emekatheo(op): 10:34pm On May 14, 2018
The state chapter of the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) of ESUT Teaching Hospital Parklane Enugu is to commence an indefinite strike on Wednesday 16th May 2018 by 12midnight. Addressing fellow comrades and members of JOHESU in the hospital, the chairman of JOHESU in the hospital, Comrade Ben Asogwa stated that it has become imperative for members of Johesu to embark on the strike because government is paying lip service to their demands. He stated that it is only in Enugu state that health workers are still being paid with hsst and contiss salary scale which is a 21st century slavery, while doctors in the same Enugu state are enjoying COMMESS. He stated that their request is for government to abolish hsst and contiss and implement CONHESS for their members which other states have been enjoying and also improve their working condition and environment. It should be recalled that earlier this year, the governor of the state, His excellency, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (gburugburu) promised to pay Johesu member 10% of conhess but the leadership of Johesu said it unacceptable that it must be 100% conhess. It should be recalled also that the national chapter of Johesu is still on strike and no federal hospital is working while various state chapters are also joining the strike. A nurse of the hospital when interviewed said she pities those patients in the wards.

MrBigiman:
grin grin grin

Johesu want the same salary scale with Medical Doctors. It's easy to claim entry point distinguishes them but let's look at exit point. A lab Scientist at 55yrs probably now at the highest grade does nothing but order Juniors around, yet a General Surgeon who has put his life on the line still does rigorous calls and theatre sessions at 58yrs. The stupid, insane and unbelievable new demand means that a lab scientist, Nurse and neurosurgeon at the same grade level should earn the same, despite not having the same responsibility, this is a shame, and the Country will pay for considering these Buffon's and clowns called Johesu. Nowhere in the world is this stupidity condoned. The average hourly work rate of each professional the world over can be browsed, in all cases the doctors' comes top.

My advice for Junior doctors is to run as far as ur legs can take u, this is the best time. Don't look back, doctors are hot cake and don't limit yourself to a shithole country.

Peace

Mr Bigiman.
Liars! Some of these doctor consultant come to work once or twice a week, direct patients to their private clinics and still collect huge amount of salary from the government . No conscience in them at all.

U are so right on point concerning the post , the day I determined to study medicine was when I had a severe asthmatic attack -: status asthmaticus , I knew I was dying and mum and dad were obviously helpless. Thank God for a doctor beside my house that God used that day , he administered some injections and withing minutes ,it was like a rope was taken off my neck .
I promised myself to know the mystery behinds this.
Thank God I'm a doctors today and on training to become a neurosurgeon , but like earlier stated, I might not be able to replicate the same help for a long time as the health sector in Nigeria is so frustrating. is the low pay we should talk about or hostile working environment!?
I'm one of those that are about to fly , I can't be working and jerking like "nothing else dey" and some people in the name of johesu will be sponsoring bills to be at per. it is better one goes to places where things work .
My advice to all my young colleagues out there , let go out to make money and come back years after to establish group private standard practices: our nurses will stay on the ward to give patients quality nursing cares they deserve, we need dispersers and not pharmacist ( the latter should be on the research field finding formulas to solve medical problem and allow pharmacist technicians to to their work), medical laboratory scientist will process samples in the lab because that is what I'm paying u for., ward assist will stay withing his or her limit .
A reasonable person will leave his or her comfort zone when the comfort zone is no more comfortable!
Olodo, there is nothing like dispensers and technicians don't do the work of Pharmacists. Doctors are always scared of Pharmacists, why?

Pharmacy student? Smh...grin

I have been in the profession for a few years now and I know the situation.
What you are talking about was obtainable in the past but not anymore. And Nigerians are becoming more aware that they can get more out of their pharmacist than they previously realised especially the enlightened ones.

And for the record, I chose to study Pharmacy and I don't regret it one bit. So much diversity unlike doctors who are stuck in the hospital. Every passing day, I thank God that I am a pharmacist.
Don't mind the yeye doctors that don't know that paracetamol and panadol are the same drug. Those ignorant and half baked doctors saying Nigerian Pharmacists are just dispensers will almost poo on their pants and start kicking against it with the help of their CMAC any time the issue of Pharmacist Ward Rounds comes up. They don't want the Pharmacist to open up their illiteracy. If only the Nigerian hospital Pharmacist can start documenting all the medication\precription errors from the hands of these half baked doctors, they will actually see the number of morbidity and mortality they are causing. God save us in this country. Amen.

So pharmacists now know the diseases and their treatment because they dispense drugs? Nigerians are funny people. I know you are a pharmacist.
Most Nigerian trained pharmacists and lab scientists will not want to practice in developed countries because these countries will not condone wrong practice. Nigerian pharmacist and lab scientists and even nurses make up a large proportion of the quack doctors you have in this country.
Want to form medical doctor when they are not.

A doctor that don't know that paracetamol and panadol are the same drug, is that one a doctor? A doctor that gives wrong doses of cefixime (an antibiotics for that matter), is that one a doctor?, a doctor that makes wrong diagnoses everytime and keep changing drugs every two days, is that one a doctor?, a doctor that cannot set ordinary IV line, and be looking for assistance from the nurses, is that one a doctor? Shame on these so called doctors. It is the patients I pity.

A doctor that cannot set a common IV line and will be asking the nurses what to do, is that one a doctor? Patients suffer in the hands of some of these doctors. Thank God for other medical personnels in the hospital.

SLYX:
All this nonsense typing, is it about the foolish Nigerian doctors that know nothing. Why do you think President Buhari had to travel for medical check up outside. It's crystal clear that Nigerian doctors are not worth it at all. I have first hand experience of how doctors in teaching hospitals managed my mom's health almost to death. Just one visit to a Turkish hospital, all their wrong diagnosis were revealed. And today my mom is alive and strong. I rather die than submit myself to be treated by a Nigerian doctor
Most Nigerian doctors know nothing especially those in GOPD. No wonder the elites travel abroad for medical checkup. Upon these doctors don't know anything, they are still arrogant on their ignorance. If you don't want to be killed or maimed by the wrong prescription of some of these arrogant doctors, better ask your Pharmacist.
