All pawpaw seeds germinate like that. If watered regularly, your first set of pawpaw seeds shud germinate within 8 to 12 days while you have 70% germination after 17 days.
It seedling germinating with the empty epicarp is as a result of the seed not initially buried deep in the nursery bag or tray so far wen it emerges to bring out it's primary leaves the empty shell follows

For best results each seed shud be in a nursing bag or pure water nylon that is perforated under to allow for drainage of excess water.
If you did the nursery on a bed then wait two weeks before transplanting into nursing bags or pure water nylon

After about 6 to 8 weeks, its ready for transplanting into the field

Harvest will depend on your maintenance practice but shud come into flowering from month 6and fruiting from month 9

I currently have over 3k red royal seedlings I will be transplanting into the field next week
