Jobs/VacanciesRe: 5 Ways To Spot A Fake Job Advert In Lagos Before It Wastes Your Transport Fare by EmeraldHash(m): 5:17pm On Jul 17, 2025
I encountered them last 2 weeks when I just came into Abuja.

Those Neolife people advertise for the post of a receptionist, I was asked to send my CV to a number on WhatsApp which I did. This happened on Thursday
On Sunday of that weekend, I received a message that I should come for interview 8am at one lounge, I borrowed 3k to go interview, thinking I have gotten a Job, on reaching there I saw them, and the way people dressed shabby and for the fact that I was the only one with B.Sc certificate was very strange.

They do their teaching, motivation talks and all. It reached a time they stared singing a song like cult people.

When I was fed up, I stood up and took my leave.

No I know better, Job hunting is not for the weak in Nigeria

Saw a story on fp about the girl beaten for tendering her resignation and it reminded me of my own first and last time working for a Nigerian employer, three words I use to describe it, modern day slavery.

I was fresh out of school and eager to please

I buckled up and I have been earning online ever since, don't sell yourself to slavery just because you wan survive, the peanuts they pay isn't enough to loose your sanity for.
Good evening bro.... I have been at home for the past 2 months after Nysc..... And I am tired

Please can you please show me how you are earning online.... Thank you

CaveAdullam:
1. The money you want is in someone's purse. It could either be from a private purse (employers, clients, customers, etc). Or, from the public purse (Government).

You attract money with value. When what you offer meet a need, purse will open.

Try and think of any value you can use to attract money.

Example: Teaching. Content creation - inform people about facts. Etc.

2. Firstly, in most cases, you'll need offline money to sustain you during your online sojourn.

So, look for an offline job.

3. Learn to do something for free. Even if you're the giver, go extra mile.

Your free hand must touch the rich, poor, and ugly. It's from there, you'll see your Jacob's ladder to heaven.

4. Please. Please. Please. I can tell you please now for a million times. Let me tell you why.

Please, don't be an INTROVERT.

See, I don't believe in all those religious brouhaha. Whether God exists or not is not my concern.

But you know what? I attend church.

Contradictory, right? Go sort it out yourself.

Large gatherings offer you a free platform to showcase your skills, give value, and get good returns.

Go out. Party. Go to church. Go to the mosque.

If you are either a Christian or Muslim, that's fine. Offer your members something, and they will pay you.

Start free though.

5. Tech skill is good.

But if you are dreaming that after learning that tech skill you will get a job immediately, better wake up from your slumber.

Take your offline hustle seriously. Anything that can sustain you and pay your bills for the meantime should be safeguarded.

Getting a job in tech is difficult than learning any tech skills. Don't fall for the survivorship bias.

If you are not cocksure that you will get a job within 366 days, take it gradually as a hobby - learn gently and develop your skill. Perhaps, you'll start reaping the fruits in a few years.

You say cyber security, right? Hope you know you are a Nigerian living in Nigeria. Except otherwise. Don't think you are the exception. Think that you are the rule, and develop strategies to maneuver.

6. That's where Cryptocurrency comes in.

In whatever you do, never take your mind off it.

It offers you individual sovereignty.

Start with YouTube, ChatGPT, and Google.

As a beginner, start with Mind Math Money on YouTube. You are sure to start speaking crypto linguistics by January if you are patient to follow and apply his teachings.

Be patient to learn all that you can. The rabbit hole will lead you to your destination.

See life as a marathon. But don't waste time. Apply speed and brake where necessary.

Thanks.
Thank you so much. You are one of the few people I follow here

iLegendd:
I don’t really advise people much nowadays because everyone already has their own plans. Whatever you do, make sure it generates money while you maintain good health. A degree is for pride, but the real world is a stride, and the most resilient wins.

I have never used any of my degrees or certifications for work. At one point, we wrote a CNNA exam—one of the top 10 toughest cybersecurity exams in the world. Out of everyone who participated, including people from different countries and seven Nigerians, I was the only one who passed.

I still have the certificate in my room. What did I do with it? Nothing. It’s just for pride. Those Asians, Black men, and White men who failed—are they failures today? No.

I achieved more from the experiences I gained socializing and clubbing. I partied more than anyone else. They never saw me studying, but I read when no one was watching.

What I’m trying to say is this: Whatever paper you’re chasing, put in your best effort without depriving yourself of a social life. But always remind yourself that the paper is for p.ride, while the real world is a st.ride. Success in the real world requires relentless effort and an atom of passion because, when the journey gets tough, no one is coming to save you but your passion or aim.

And how do you strive and attain success faster? By solving people’s problems without being desperate for financial gains. HUGE SECRET.

When I see people acting desperate for money, I just laugh. They don't understand success. They don't understand the power of giving more than you take. When the online or offline community you helped cook for you, you can't finish the food.

Put them in a position where they are the ones eagerly begging you to take their money in exchange for what you know or the skills you offer. Do other people offer this skill? Yes, but why you? There is a connection and addiction towards you because you've given so much for free already.

If your skill is digital, that’s great. If it isn’t, that’s still fine. Digital skills just provide more freedom.

There comes a time when you have to monetize what you offer. When the financial gains start coming, invest in GLE-BOSS. What does that mean? Gold, Land, Ethereum, BTC, Oil, Solana, and the S&P500. All of these are digital assets except land. Sure, invest in your health, adventures and brand new skills.

I have a lot to say from experience, but let’s cut the epistle short.

I’ve realized that many people want to start crypto, but the information out there is overwhelmingly draining, boring and disorganized. They don't even spice it up with some related stories or humor, be it edgy or clean to make it memorable.

I went through that information paralysis stage until I figured it out and realized it’s all by design. The gurus make the industry seem complicated so you’ll pay for mentorship.

I don’t blame them—man must wak. YouTube is full of them.

If I were to write crypto books (Book 1: Must-Know Basics and Foundations; Book 2: Fundamentals and Secrets; Book 3: Technical Analysis Simplified Like You’re a Kid; Book 4: Greatest Indicators Even Gurus Don’t Know), readers would voluntarily come back to pay again as a way of thanking me for simplifying the subject.

Yes, I’d make it simple yet comprehensive and detailed, leaving no stone unturned. But the real problem in this industry is PATIENCE AND EMOTIONAL CONTROL. These are not simple concepts—they involve a certain spirit called "greed." Even successful people still harbor traces of it. Perhaps Book 5 would cover the Psychology of the Game and How Not to Lose It All.

Are you hunting airdrops? Not bad. Whatever you do legally to raise money is acceptable.

“This is the best read I have ever read in crypto.” Are you sure? I doubt it. The best hasn’t been posted yet because certain keywords trigger Nairaland’s spambot, and they get taken down.

As for the books, I’ll consider them in due time, but the zest isn’t there yet.

I wish you the best in your endeavors. And remember: Degrees are for p.ride, but the street is a st.ride.

Oh, I said I'll stop typing but my fingers keep pushing me to do more. I'm like Speed Darlington, Akpi. Na rap lines just full my head from this prison yard wey I dey.
Thank you. lemme save this somewhere

I decided to talk about number 10, which is actually my number 1 or at least, number 2.

10. Finally, no, let me keep this one for another day.

Okay, let me expose it even though I have done it in the past. I know a lot of people have forgotten. It's supposed to be number 1, but I don't want lazy readers to see it.

Take a pen and write this down.

1. I enter Coinmarketcap app and click on top 100 or some times, top 200.
2. Then, I click on BTC pair, not USDT.
3. Now, I go through all the coins there using the 1 month timeframe looking for the ones that just recently double bottomed on their BTC pair. Forget about the chart or price of their USDT pair — it's irrelevant.
4. And the moment I see them, boom, I run instant routine check on the coin's health, momentum and if it has a big team or community/fanbase and if yes, buy immediately.

Currently, as I type this, I just spotted AR, ICP and a host of others that just double bottomed or "almost" on their BTC pair and I have bought some a few minutes ago at $17 for AR, $10 for ICP, etc.

Does this mean they won't go down further? Of course they "may" when BTC crashes more this month or first quarter of 2025.

But bottoming on the monthly timeframe on their BTC pair is a huge deal and a secret OGs hide from newbies. It's a money making secret. If you spot them and start DCA'ing into those coins, you're ahead of the game.

You're front-running everyone and if the coin has an update, upgrade or a big news coming up, it makes the pump that'll happen more parabolic.

This is like using the backdoor to catch top 100 coins that'll pump heavily when alts have a chance to breathe.
This is the best read I have ever read in crypto.

Please write a book on crypto

I'm a newbie, as a matter of facts an airdrop hunter, na notcoin make me enter crypto, since April of this year and I want to stay.

I went online few weeks ago, if I can get a book on crypto to read as I need to learn alot of things, I couldn't find none

I understand some of the things you explain about time in crypto and this research analysis you just made about BTC season and ALT season, they are so profound.

Lastly I will be grateful, you can take your time to advise me as a 28 years old Nigerian graduate that just finish Nysc.

I desire to make money in dollars

My strategy before now, is to hunt airdrops, make money from it, then pay and learn cybersecurity, the look for foreign client to work for. This is my goal for next year

Please advice from your knowledge, wisdom and experience.

Thank you

ubunja:
I hear you man,, Cause you realise you've been lied to this whole time and made to believe a lie. Women are emotion based. They think with their feelings. Where as a man you process facts a woman processes feelings. If something feels good and nice to them it's right, if it feels bad and painful then it's wrong. So RIGHT and WRONG to women is a matter of how they FEEL about something not so much about the facts and logics presented. When arguing with a woman she's not considering the facts you're presenting but how the facts are making her FEEL. If your facts make her feel good she'll agree with you, if your facts make her feel hurt, she'll disagree with you. Regardless both times you're speaking facts.

Depending on how you view it this can be a good thing. Cause, for one, it means that a woman you don't stand a logical chance with, but by playing on her emotions you have a fighting chance. It means that girl whom all sense and logic tells you she has absolutely no reason to date you, you can make an emotional case and have a better chance.

With women always make an emotional appeal never a logical appeal. Ignore the facts. They're irrelevant.

Let me tell you a story:
Some time ago I made a business transaction with this other dude which soured and he wanted his things back. Now honestly I can't remember who fucced up the deal me or him. Anyways he came for his items and I refused. He tried every trick to make me see his side of the story but I wouldn't budge. Then the niggah went and told her mother, who had a reputation for being a loudmouth who shouted at anyone who dared mess with her. But see even myself at that building I had made a reputation for myself of being a no nonsense guy and this lady herself had seen me deal with my babymama and she knew I didn't take shít.
So when I heard a knock on my door and went to open and saw it was her, knowing why she was here, I said to myself "here we go!!" . I was Ready to lock horns and argue with her and make a scene. But did the woman shout and berrate me and rain curses on me? No. She asked to come in, sat down calmly. Then started telling me the shít her and her son were going through lately, financial issues, a funeral at home, etc. All the while almost coming to tears. You know what? I was touched. I softned. I fell sorry for her. And reversed the deal and gave her what she was there for.
It didn't take long for me to realize old woman had played me. Instead of asking about the logical aspects of my deal with her son, she skipped all that and made everything about emotions. Not what happened, who did what, etc,, she simply showed me how much pain and suffering they were going through and how much my reversing the deal with go in alleviating that pain. And because I'm human, My humanity responded to the emotional appeal. And she won.
I'm sure she was laughing and mocking in her mind as she went back to her place. But whatever.

When dealing with women, this is how men must do. Skip the facts and make emotional appeals .It's not easy cause men have never been taught emotional manipulation, only psychological manipulation, but a guy who can work a woman's emotions will stay winning. And it's something anyone can learn.
How and where can I learn this how to work a woman's emotions

I created this thread in response to the post on front page about ladies that date men who earn less than 100k. Below is the link.

https://www.nairaland.com/7292274/ladies-relationship-men-earns-100k

Of a truth, its not easy to manage such amount, but when one is already in such situation, you just have to manage and improvise.
Now like the OP of the above thread requested, here is the break down of how we make our expenses.

To start with, I was earning about 130k previously before we got married by March this year, but I changed job and the pay of the new job is 95k. STarted the new job around Feb this year, even though there was a loan I was paying off.. Need I add that my wife was working in a firm where shes paid 45K, but two months after our married, she quit the job due to pregnancy stress. Am sure ladies will understand.

This is our break down.
Monthly salary 95k
I remove 40k first from the salary and transfer it to 3 different acct.
The first acct receives 20k. This acct is not touchable except on extreme emergency. Its our main savings acct.
The second acct gets 10k and its for our rent, also non touchable. Rent is 150k per year. Before u say my rent is high compared to my salary, I like my privacy very well. and the cost of rent isnt friendly in my state.
The third acct also gets 10k. This one is for semi savings. This acct is touchable when cash at hand have been exhausted before the next month salary.

From the remaining 50k,
I send 10k to my family acct. I and my brothers do contribute 10k+ every month and its been used to run expenses WRT our parents and last born.
I gv my wife 10k for her monthly up keep. Its small. But its the sacrifice we all have to make for the good of the family.
I hold 10k myself for logistics and transport. I must confess, is not enough. But One have to strive. My wrk place isnt far. SO transport is N100 to and fro, thats approximately 3k per month. The remaining money i use it for other logistics. 4k out of this money goes for gas wch last for abt 2 weeks. And when we want to refill and there is no other money left, we fall back to the 3rd acct.
The remaining 20k is strictly for food ( On this food issue is where I "duff my hart" cos shes really managing things well and trying.
Sometimes, I really feel for her, cos this her pregnancy makes her to crave for things that is not on our food menu, but then when the money is not there, she just surpress the cravings. At times I feel bad.

.
Na man you be. I salute you from here

Thiago has no right to be there. Why?
1. He is not DM: Rodri deserve that spot based on his performance and his goals over the season and he also won the EPL trophy.
2. Thiago was not consistent over the season. sometimes injured or bench compare to Rodri

Mane played well but Son deserve that spot that Mane for his goals and assist

I am a Barca fan, Man City Fan and Messi fan.

Ronaldo merit his spot there because no CF in epl scored more goals than him. Simple.

In conclusion, FA and EPL are racists not only to blacks but also to Asian players also and I see it not stopping. Taking the knee has no meaning, is just a trend like Zaha said.
