Not ideal. It is happening a lot in Nigeria, but a conscientious government employee is not supposed to do so due to conflicts of interests.
Thanks for the prompt response. God bless you.

Though I am not a teacher or a public servant but I may know a thing or two.......in theory it is wrong based on the fact that as a government employee you are under contract of employment which prohibits that and as such u owe your employers faithful service which include:
u must not use his/her time for your personal business or use his or her working environment for your personal business or his or her machineries/ tools for your personal business.

But due to the situation of country and in part to the meagre amount paid to the average worker they augment other businesses as a means of survival.
thank you very much dear. Very informative, thanks.

Dear Nairalanders,
I have been battling with this issue for some time now. Please is it against the law for a public teacher to own a private school and business while still in active service? I will be happy if teachers in the house can clarify this, possibly, backed by teachers act or public service act, regulations and rules. Thank you all

it's acceptable, it's called substituted service and it's admissible in law, however they must have tried serving the person severally without success
OK, yea, I think so , but he can still deny receipt as it is a public yard, not posted or pasted?

It's not wrong. He probably has a picture of the court order posted on your friend's door which he'll use as evidence to show your friend has received it, if he is still living in the house.
, he just inserted it in the door opening at a public yard, not personal house. How about that?

Someone served my colleague a court summon today. The man went home only to see the purported summon inserted in his door handle. Lawyers in the house, is it wise, should it be treated as received?

18Ebiscoo:
Senate President Bukola Saraki, has said that Osun State election was a test to Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and other security agencies.

Saraki made the statement on his Twitter page while urging INEC to monitor collation of results as the election is a test of democracy in Nigeria.

The Senate President also applauded Nigerians vigilantly following collation of election results and defending the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Saraki wrote: “As we await the result from Osun State, let us remember that collation is just a simple addition of results.

“This election is a test of our democracy. INEC and security agencies are under test. All well meaning Nigerians are awake monitoring the results closely.

“Just spoke to some of our volunteers on ground in Osun State. I’m delighted to hear that even at 2:50am, Nigerians are vigilant and defending PDP’s comfortable lead.”

PoliticsA Igboman Elected The President Of ICC by emerem(op): 9:55pm On Mar 12, 2018
Yesterday, 11 March 2018, the judges of the International Criminal Court (ICC), sitting in a plenary session, elected Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji (Nigeria) as President of the Court for a three-year term with immediate effect. Judge Robert Fremr (Czech Republic) was elected First Vice-President and Judge Marc Perrin de Brichambaut (France) Second Vice-President.

“I am deeply honoured to have been elected by my peers as President of the International Criminal Court. As I take up my duties, I feel encouraged that I am able to rely on the wide experience of the two Vice-Presidents, Judge Robert Fremr and Judge Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, both of whom I have closely worked with previously. I look forward to working together with them as well as with all the judges, all the Officials and the staff of the Court in a spirit of collegiality. I also look forward to collaborating with the Assembly of States Parties, civil society and the international community at large, acting together to strengthen and reinforce the Rome Statute system, the 20th anniversary of the adoption of which we celebrate this year”, President Chile Eboe-Osuji stated following the election. “I am also grateful to the previous President, Judge Silvia Fernández de Gurmendi, and Vice-Presidents, Judges Joyce Aluoch and Kuniko Ozaki, for their work and leadership,” he added.

The Presidency – consisting of the President and the two Vice-Presidents – plays a key role in providing strategic leadership to the ICC as a whole. The Presidency coordinates with the other organs and seeks the concurrence of the Prosecutor on matters of mutual concern. In accordance with the Rome Statute, the ICC’s governing treaty, the Presidency is responsible for the proper administration of the Court, with the exception of the Office of the Prosecutor. The Presidency oversees the activities of the Registry and provides input into a broad range of administrative policies affecting the Court’s overall functioning. Furthermore it conducts judicial review of certain decisions of the Registrar and concludes Court-wide cooperation agreements with States and international organizations.

Meanwhile, the news has resulted in wild jubilations in the South East and Some South South States, as IPOB members see the development as good news for the Biafra agitation.

Recall that President Buhari, Army Chief, Buratai, Gov Obiano, Ikpeazu etc, have been dragged to ICC recently by IPOB over the death of some of their members.

PoliticsRe: Two Years Of Buhari’s Administration: Is Change Here With Us? by emerem: 9:57pm On Mar 06, 2018
Change is when a dollar was selling at 160, suddenly, it went to 370,
Fuel sold at N86, changed to 200,
A bag of rice 7,000, now 25,000,
When my grand father who was sick and always attending medications, suddenly, started attending parties & ralies, no more check ups and strick adherence to medical prescriptions/medications.
Change is very good. Change is here, yes there is CHANGE.
Please add your own. Change is very sweet.
