Flirtyjane:Who travels on a bus laden with a purported corpse and doesn't know the individual who has died. By the way does a bus transporting a casket pick up passengers along the way? No matter how stranded you may be along the wayside and such bus comes along, would you embark? ...they've all got some hard questions to answer, they and their accomplices at departure and destination. |

faith551:I guess you would have preferred she chose you, and that'll make you happy, right?. But think again she was being sincere. You would have helped her by allowing her some time to clear the cobwebs off her mind and go for her heart. If you ask me you just dumped a sincere lady who took the risk of opening her heart to you, a good virtue you could have benefited from tomorrow assuming she finally settled for you. My thoughts anyway! |

Consortium comprising Helios and Vitol to acquire an equity stake in Oando’s downstream businesses 30 June 2015 A consortium comprising Helios Investment Partners (“Helios”, acting on behalf of funds it advises) and The Vitol Group (“Vitol”) (together, the “Consortium”) today announced it has reached an agreement to acquire 60 per cent of the economic rights and 51 per cent of the voting rights in the West African downstream business of Oando Plc, an integrated oil and gas company headquartered in Nigeria, for a sum of circa US$276 million, subject to the receipt of regulatory approvals and customary purchase price adjustments, including working capital. The new downstream and retail business will be established as a standalone, independent company, led by a local management team. Its assets will comprise over 400 service stations in Nigeria with supporting infrastructure, including 84,000 tonnes of storage and a newly built inbound logistics jetty; as well as complementary businesses, chiefly LPG filling and distribution, lubricants and an interest in a supply and bulk distribution company in Ghana. The new business will be the second largest downstream fuels company in Nigeria, with a market share of 12 per cent. The Consortium is committed to investing for growth, and working with the experienced and highly skilled local management team to enable the business to capitalise on the 3-5 per cent per annum growth in Nigerian demand for oil products. It is anticipated that the service stations will retain the Oando brand. Ian Taylor, President and CEO, Vitol said; “Vitol has a long history of working in Nigeria and is proud to have served our customers here over many years. This investment is a further reflection of our confidence in the Nigerian economy, and will be independent of the services we provide to our long standing Nigerian customers. We are looking forward to building this new downstream business, alongside our many other business activities in Nigeria.” Tope Lawani, co-founder and Managing Partner of Helios Investment Partners, said; “This is a market leading downstream energy business with a strong brand and exciting growth potential. Given our successful partnership with Vitol to create Vivo Energy, a leading downstream business which distributes and markets Shell-branded fuels and lubricants in 16 countries across Africa, we are confident that our expertise and regional presence will support the management team in capitalising on its strong market position and the compelling growth opportunities in Nigeria.” – ends – Source: http://www.vitol.com/consortium-comprising-helios-and-vitol-to-acquire-an-equity-stake-in-oandos-downstream-businesses/ |

I don't think this topic should be joked with. People like you and I are deeply pained |
raayah:I believe this posture is what has made things depreciate to this level. Whilst we don't have the right to judge it does not say we should not caution as well. "Nature abhors vacuum" if we allow things or people take the direction of choice they will always go southwards. Generally, it is ALWAYS more convenient in life to do or be in the wrong! |
imag5:A trial will convince you. Talking from experience. I understand the double monicker thing. This is not one of it. |

For those asking for the reasons for the strike action, here they are: The Nigeria oil workers under the umbrella of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior StaffAssociation (PENGASSAN), today began an indefinite strike to push for their demands over unfairlabour practices, ability of the government to carry out turn around maintenance of the refineries and others. The unions said they were protesting government’s inability to reduce pump prices of petroleum products in line with the slump in global prices of crude oil. The strike according to the union was also to ensure that the government evolve new strategies to combat pipeline vandalism and crude oil theft that have impacted negatively on the nation’s economy and employment in the country. Other reasons for the strike are the delay in the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), global crude oil prices slump, non-implementation of the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act to reflect Nigerians in management positions and expatriate quota law, appalling state of access roads to refineries and oil depots’ facilities, insecurity all over the country that has led to the death of their members, appointments in government agencies in disregards to succession planning, compulsory deduction from workers’ salaries for the National Housing Fund (NHF), casualisation and contract staffing and unfairlabour practice by companies and government agencies. The unfairlabour practices listed by the oil workers also include transfer and termination of national officers of the two unions. In a statement made available by the unions, the strike will affect all operations in the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry, as members will be withdrawn from all oil and gas installations. The unions said that all members have been fully mobilized to embark on an indefinite strike from today, adding that the strike will not be suspended until there is a strong commitment from the government and affected managements/operators to resolve the issues. According to NUPENG and PENGASSAN, the government has refused to honour all engagementsand agreements reached with them on all their issues of concerns including the turn around maintenance of the refineries and ensuring adequate supply of crude oil to the refineries to ensure that they function effectively and efficiently. The unions also demand that the government should put in place alternative strategies to stop pipeline vandalism and crude oil theft, convene an industry stakeholders’ forum on PIB status and fallingcrude oil prices and address the ongoing high rate divestment in the industry and its attendant job losses. On casualisation and contract staffing, NUPENG and PENGASSAN demand immediate conversion of all contract staffto regular staffin accordance with the approved Contract, Casualand Outsourcing in the Oil and Gas Industry Guidelines NUPENG President, Igwe Achese said specifically in Okrika, Rivers state yesterday that Total Nigeria would have to recall its member, Elo Ogbonde, a Zonal officer elected for the Port Harcourt zone in July this year, but subsequently posted out to Lagos in August. “It was done to punish her and to make her lose her seat, but our position is that the strike which begins in the Port Harcourt zone tomorrow will not be called of until she is recalled. It will not be fair for any employers to undermine the rights of the workers to elect their leaders, this despite all the interventions by the Ministries”, he said. |

Just came back few hours ago from Oyingbo market together with the mother of my two kids who went to do her monthly shopping. I moved with her from table to table and helped out with the grocery bag. Ours was a case of me moving into a new neighborhood, fell in love with my neighbors daughter, married her and moved out of the neighborhood few months after with her. They also moved out too a month later. It was just providence! |
Dr. Spyder...How are we doing on this project? We need to close out. Kindly update us, your ever hungry students with the total cost for the initial structure before the remodeling and snags began to show up. |

dhardline: That shouldn't be a problem. Just be sure you have Lagos traffic radio in-place, giditraffic updates pouring in...and when you are about to leave the office on the Island as others approach the 3MB to start crawling you also do same but use the first free parts of 3MB to help your car become airborne... Sci-fi films are becoming real! |
