Hello guys, kindly assist/advice.

So my dad received a message that his passport was ready for collection but didn't know that VFS Global had stopped sending back passport through DHL. All attempts to get across to VFS by phone on how to make another payment has been unsuccessful.

How can we make payment for them to send it back to us and what courier service will they be using?

Also, is it possible for someone to go pick it up at VFS office if they are closer? What will be the procedure and what documents will they need to present, paradventure it can be scanned to them.

If he wants to pickup in person. All he need is photocopy of this international passport n his tracking number written on it. Time is 12-2pm but he should go early to get slot, queue for pickup is always long n tiring.

I will attach the link to download courier service form, instead of waiting for vfs to send it. Download, fill and attach it together with the proof of payment.

They use UPS for der delivery.

Its Airline not website. Make sure no stop over in two European countries or USA. You can check klm/Air France, Egypt air, Ethiopian airline, Lufthansa.

Your pof is enough to proof you’ve the funds for all expenses in Canada. You don’t know when your visa will be approved so why make reservations? What they focus on is homie tie, pof n good sop.

Home tie: Job, business, properties, investment, relatives & extended families.

POF: This will depend on your purpose of visit. Make sure you’ve enough, they want to be sure you’re not spending all your money on the trip. I will advise you’ve X3 of your trip budget as pof.

SOP: Since there’s no visa interview, this is an opportunity to tell the VO why your application should be approved. Talk about why you’re going to Canada, purpose of your trip, if it’s for tourism list all the itineraries you’ve in plan.

Submit any document you feel will proof all the points. Also use the new portal for your application. Success!

Pay into vfs account, attach the proof from mobile app.

You don’t need to book anything until your visa is approved. Just work on home ties, pof n good sop.

You can send to Lagos, Abuja is just faster.

Thank you Emmafe for the reply. The police report they asked for was for Nigeria and united states because have lived in the states before and I still hold valid one but it was after this application. Does the background check has anything to do with the police report. I have provided it for them even the united states own . I sent fbi my finger print card and theh have replied that no criminal record was found which have uploaded in the webform. Though nothing is on both the tracker and portal. No bvl and no tracker details. The tracker shows eligibility completed, biometric completed and the background verification still in progress.

You can use ups or dhl. Vfs use ups for home delivery after ur passport is stamped. For duration let say 1-2weeks if you send to Abuja n will use vfs courier. If you’ll pickup yourself in Abuja, let say 3-5days.

Good morning everyone. I applied for visiting visa since Novermber last year with my family. I emailed the MP last 3 weeks and this is what they replied yesterday about my application.

* Received on November 9,2022
* Processing at the Lagos visa office
* Processing time is 714 days- Tends to fluctuate depending on what is happening in the region
*Criminality and eligibility have passed
* Request letter sent on june 17,2023-documents received on june 23,2023. Actively working on reviewing those documents.

This is what they replied. I wrote on this forum in May when theh asked of the request letter. Police certificate in Nigeria and the United states. Which I submitted. The united states own was the one the MP referred to on June 17 being received on June 23.

Please what's all the criminality and eligibility implies.

Eligibility means if you’re admissible into Canada, since that’s passed your approval rate is high, unless they found misinterpretation during background check. Criminality is just checking if you’re not a threat to Canada’s security.

I intend applying for visitor visa for my mom and will like a family friend to accompany her- this will be group application.

My questions are:
. what are the chances of getting the visa for my family friend?

I have evidence to show our relationship (pictures etc) as the said person lived with my parents and I until he got married and now has a family of his (a wife and two children). You know how you have friends live with you all their lives with your parents taking responsibilities- unfortunately no legal adoption was done so I he’s not a family member. I believe putting his kids and wife already stands as a strong tie back home should the visa be approved.

. I intend to sponsor both the friend and mom by proving my SOA. Is this advisable?

. My spouse recently applied for his mom and brother- their visa is approved and we are expecting them this summer. Will this visitor application impact that of my mom and family friend?

• Yes you can sponsor both. I will also advice your friend to submit her SOA to show she’s doing well financially, else VO will think she go japa.

• No it won’t affect your application.

My advice is work on home tie esp for your frnd, documents that shows she’s doing well in naija (business, job, assets etc.), make sure pof is okay for both and good sop.

Yes I think affidavit is better. Attach letter of explanation and send to ircc. If the agent is not licensed don’t mention agent o. Just claim it was a mistake on your part.

I flew to Abuja this morning to pick up my passport from the VERY incompetent VFS because i have an urgent trip to the UK tonight.
Passport came back from the Visa offixe since 26th June and i paid upfront for courier back to me, filled and sent the SMS forms , countless calls and unreplied emails, yet my passport was buried in a heap of passports, all my emails unread and unreplied. They havent even opened or acknowledged the first email i sent that had reciept of 18,710 talk more of sorting my passport for dispatch to me.
I got my pasaport from them in about 2 hours as they were UNDERSTAFFed (only one person handling collections) and flew back to lagos.

Now return ticket money to abuja plus 18,710 all wasted .

I don’t understand why they cut off courier from doing two way delivery, it was very smooth then. Greed caused all this, they’re just after money. Same ups they stopped from doing two way delivery, is the company that handle the delivery for them.

Collection of decision envelopes in-person at the VAC is not permitted until further notice. Please refer to the 'Buy Services' page of the VAC website for further information on courier services offered by the VAC'.

If it’s for biometrics speak to vfs officers wen you’re der or send a message before going to know if it’s an issue. If the mistake is also in your application, send a mail n Webform to ircc.

You can apply for visitor record to extend your 6 months stay. Also I feel you should be able to flagpole to change to spouse open work permit, you can confirm.

I dropped off my son’s passport at VFS Lagos on the 7th of June, I got only 2 mails from VFS, receipt acknowledgement and tracking no. I haven’t gotten any other message since then, I’ve been tracking it and it’s been saying it’s in transit to the ircc office for processing, I don’t know if anyone has been in this situation and how I can expedite it. Mine didn’t take this long at all, just 8 days and I got my passport back. I’m really worried. I’ve called and called the number is always busy, sent mail and it says I should wait till I’m notified to come pick up. What can I do please.
