Am Igbo and I won't mind sharing the same nationality with yoruba,Niger delta and Middlebeltans.They are all progressives and share the same outlook to life and development unlike those suicide bombers up north, they are not Nigerians neither are we the same or share anything in common with them.

The almagamation is not working.we want true federalism,state police,resource control,education for all,polio eradication etc. But the bombers up north will not agree because they feel it will give the south advantage over them or that if their people are educated, it will make them(their leaders) lose that grib they have over their gullible followers.

We in the south have our differences but we are matured and civilized enough to manage our differences.we don't go on rampage killing people of other ethnic or religious background.Not that we can't but the maturity,sophistication and civilization in the south have modified us to appreciated life in a live and let live way.

You can see and igbo-yoruba quarell or fight but u will never see them taking arm on each other.so it is with other southern ethnic groups.

For the middlebelt,with education,nemesis and regret of the past actions of fighting their innocent strangers in their midst, which did not benefit them rather fill them with memries of regret which continue to hunt them and their upcoming generations and also enslave them, they are in a better position to be admitted into the new southern nigeria IMO.

Yes their is corruption and poor leadership in the country, but what people fail to see is that our biggest problem is born out of our different ethnic or regional ideology and outlook to life as a result of religion,education and ethnicity.

I think u are very correct. There are more quarrels btw Yorubas and Igbos than between any two other tribes in Nigeria, yet they dont resort to barbarism. The north must learn from especially these two peoples. Quick resort to bloodshed tells only a story of middle age civilisation. spyder880: The truth, from a man on the ground who have seen it happen so many times is that the fulanis graze their cattle on peoples farmlands, eating and marching on crops. This is very annoying if you are a farmer. I have not seen women they rapped but I have heard the stories.
The nomads are not making things easy by their attitudes, they can never apologize to the farmers even with the complaints to their heads. They are always armed (knifes, guns and all) and they distrust everyone except their people.

I see them as humans, very humble and very mis understood. Their camp around Lokpanta in Abia state express is a nice outpost far from the locals, enough space to graze but go and see how they have wrecked the roads. If you have passed the road recently and seen how the completely destroyed the roads by dumping earth on both sides of the road, blocking the drainages which made the roads flooded, and so damaged when trucks march on them. We dont have a govt in Abia state, somebody should have asked them to stop offloading cattle along the roads.

I think the herdsmen should stop going into farms, their settlement in Ugwuoba, Enugu state is a bit peaceful.

I am aware of a police case now involving the fulani and the Affa community of Udi LGA. No need to reveal anything here but the accounts are very horrible.

Finally the herdsmen are humans like us, we should try and make them understand that they have nothing to fear, dialogue more with their elders and forgive them when we can. Everyone sins.

It is obvious to every concerned Nigerian that with the way the country is run today, those who wish to begin to manufacture vehicles or any meaningful production here might just start somewhere far from that. You cannot fully industrialise with the the state of infrastructure here. Which is why i CONGRATULATE a company like Innoson for daring to put its money in harm's way by trying to produce vehicles here. If they are assembling, that is very good. It means there is some value in those vehicles which Nigerians add for which they are employed and paid salary. I have seen many vehicles on the road manufactured and assembled in China and exported here.
