you're right but if you buy original timing belt and kits, you won't have any reason to fear. Just changed mine after almost a year of heavy use.

307 comes majorly with the 1.6ltrs TU5 engines but some comes with the EW10 engines. Both are very good but if you want better fuel economy, go with the former but if power is your priority then go with the latter.

Interestingly, my mech's opinion is that it is expensive to maintain and that anyone using it should have another vehicle. Although, he is a Toyota expert.

I meant to say the automatic isn't as reliable as the manual. For your mechanic saying its expensive to maintain, that guys knows no jack about peugeot so he's trying to scare you off. The 307 parts are very cheap. The complete engine costs about 120k while the skeleton costs about 80k. If you can get a competent peugeot mechanic in ibadan and you're buying toks that's direct LHD not converted. I'll advise you dive in.

automatic transmission is as reliable as the manual. The 307 fits for ehailing. Very good fuel economy, very cheap parts.

its better to get another one if its confirmed its the culprit. You can snap and post picture of the brake oil warning light.

Have been using my Peugeot 307 for 9months now , it has been driving smoothly since purchase but the dash board lights and the headlight pops up around 20mins of packing which in turns drains the battery. I remove the terminal from the battery each time I park the car which become so stressful for me but I had no option. Two rewire at ladipo tried fixing it but they failed. Please what do you advise I can do to make the light stop coming on.
Secondly my dashboard recently displays the 'breakoil sign' and it flashes stop on it as well. Old what do I need to do to fix this

looks like its ur com2000 thats messing up. As regards the brake oil, maybe your brake fluid is low, trying toping it up and observe.

My 307 keeps stalling and going off, I can be driving and the engine will die off (not electrical cos the dashboard lights will all be on), I will have to stop and car move the gear to park to restart the car before I can continue my trip.

Let your mechanic clean your throttle body, AKA, injector mouth.

is your exhaust emitting black smoke? Is your check engine light on?

Buy original timing belt or kits that should serve 80,000km or 4years and also use 5w40 or 10w40 engine oil(total). avoid abuse,run scan when needed. Dont remove thermostat and follow battery removal procedure when required. Goodluck.

here's the picture of the engine. I don't know anything about Peugeot. I noticed the gear becomes hard. When you try to change gears. After you've driven the car for a while. Like hard shift.. I'm thinking something isn't right with the clutch. Any help?

this is either Ew7/Ew10 engine. Both are very good engines, as regards the hard shift, I think your gear oil is low. Let a mechanic check and then top up if low.
