Gurus, see this..... My Notes just landed. I guess this CIC people just do what they like.... I cannot say much but well, everything happens for a reason. I am sure they didnt go through the additional documents I provided, like parent's Retirement Letter from Government (this alone should make them know that funds wont come in as it used to during service year but property documents worth more N30m was included), Source of funds was Sales of Property with the Property Sales Deed included, my employment letter (been working for 6yr+ and a fair enough remuneration to serve as economic ties). Been denied visa once and it was stated, and haven't travelled out before. A detailed SOP stating purpose of visit with Dad's sponsorship letter stating source of funds with proof inclusive. What do they want again? Why was purpose of visit even ticked at the 1st place? Apparently, when pressure is much, I think they just do anyhow, without having to check every document provided of them. Wheeewwww.... CIC. It's well with them o.

Hello Gurus, I have a query... These WES guys never respond to inquiries made via their site. How can someone contact them. I want to know if update progrmmaes like Continuous Professional Development (CPD) can be evaluated. There are professional Certifications optained during practice - med.practise. They are Post-Grad. Certificates. Can these certificates be evaluated, and will it count as part of Educational Credentials for EE - CIC?? |

jnyuwa02: Buttu Boss jnyuwa02, to say the least from 2017 Fall applications, I really havn't seen PGDs being denied. I can only recall one @Yomilicious. Cant recall anyone. And one moniker had his PGD approved, i mean APPROVED in a space of 3rd February (application date) to 20th February. Vast majurity of delays are even on the Mater degree programmes. I just want to stress that ALL applications are treated differently. While I will agree that with PGD, you'll have a lot of convincing to do to the VO since it's usually not difficult to gain admission (except for the highly competitive PGDs like those in core medical fields), even M.Sc programmes will still need some serious convincing to do, that is why we all write SOPs to state our intents, and if things don't add up to the VO, a denial is inevitable. Having said that, it's not your place to discourage anyone who wants to go for any programme he/she deems fit, as you may really not know the circumstances that informed his/her decision. Cheers. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Long Post Alert..... Pardon me!! PureRuby: And you made this statement in Thread 12; PureRuby: I just want to say that with God ALL things are possible ..... As humans we may have our doubts but He said, ask anything and I will grant of you, that your joy may be complete (full). John 16:24. And if we can just believe (have faith), it'd be established. @PureRuby, Congrats to you. Your faith worked for you. More TRV approvals coming in In Jesus Name, Amen. Peaceful night y'all. 28 Likes |

abestine: Hey boss, I feel that the excuse of "leaving after programme, travel history aswell" once an app is delayed is just impoverished. The main reason could be finances, in this case. So payment of school fees, transfer of upkeep funds to @ibeli0 personal account and a concrete establishment of relationship with his 3rd party sponsor should have made this application sail through. And if these listed things were done, there would be no "leaving Canada after programme" excuse. Just my thoughts. @ibeli0 please order for your GCMS notes. So sorry for the delay. |

Hey guys.... I just confirmed that PTA is not gotten for other currencies but USD, GBP and Euro. So please, what would you advise be? - Get PTA in USD? @360ngn/usd - Buy CAD from black market or Bureau de change almost @300ngn/cad If PTA is gotten, would Bureau de change sell cad to you with usd here in Nigeria?? What will be their rate? USD to CAD. Is is easy to buy CAD with USD over there in Canada? Finally..... what would your advise be on obtaining CAD before traveling. And how about those with Dom acc funded with other currencies like ££ and €€. Those who traveled there from Nigeria would do best in answering this. Thank you. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Dammiehar: Dammi, gracias..... I had to go to readup the link you posted. So now we know the 10yrs residency to gain citizenship is not applicable to Canada, but its a normal thing i learnt donkey years ago back in primary abi secondary sch, lol. But eh, what dos this mean "To become a Canadian citizen after gaining PR status, you have to have spent 1,460 days during the six years right before the date you sign your application and 183 days during each of four calendar years that are fully or partially within the six years right before the date you apply. ..... Cuz I am lost. Pls Explain what they mean by that. Thanks. |

GlitteringStar: Hey Boss, Thank you for this. I never went through CIC website to know about this but just to buttress on what I wrote earlier, there r certain criteria to fulfil to gain citizenship. Its is not an automatic thing to gain citizenship immediately after studies in Canada. My assumptions where based on social studies background knowledge of gaining citizenship in country, that the fellow must reside up to 10yrs. I think it still holds in some countries. |
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Emmane: 6:38am On Aug 09, 2017 |
ibbravura: This is applicable to most of the countries if not all, including Nigeria. To gain Citizenship status in a country, you must have resided in that country for 10years and above. Then you and file in for citizenship. In some countries, you'll be placed on a exams and if passed, you'll be granted citizenship. Then you can get your passport. What most people if not all who go for studies in Canada do is, after their studies, they'll be granted a post-study work permit. Usually 1yr work permit for a 1yr study and 3yrs work permit for a 2yr study. During their work permit, they do their IELTS and join the FSWP Express Entry Pool. At this point, with their very high CRS points because of the advantage of Canadian study/work/a valid job offer (these features shoots up CRS points), they'll be given an ITA, and eventually a Permanent Residence Permit Status. Now let me clear this, Permanent Residence permit is NOT citizenship. You are only free to reside and work and school as a citizen (as you won't be required to pay international fees in schools) with all the benefits of a citizen But the Citizenship status and passport. After 10yrs of stay, you can now File for Citizenship. This is the best I know about the whole thing. Regards. Cc: @ronvlaar 10 Likes |

Hey guys.... I was just on my own when I had a move to just enquire further on this EE thing. So i spoke with a good friend from this thread who's apparently also putting more eggs in the basket (Studies TRV/EE). So she advised that I check my CRS score and below is what I had. If i was serious, who knows, would have been given an ITA by now. For those with plans to stay back in Canada and work, I'd advice, you try checking your CRS score and prepare for EE, you never know what you can get. For those who are yet to write English testing Exams like IELTS, you can put an assumed score, while checking your CRS, while working towards getting your IELTS. She further said, dual Intent wont hurt. While waiting for TRV, fetch another egg (EE) and put in the basket. Goodluck to all TRV hopefuls. Me inclusive 2 Likes
