Amen. Don't bottle up. Find who to talk to muyico: |
In a time when so many young Nigerians are facing depression and many are giving in to despair. (some sources say Nigeria has an estimated 15000 suicide cases in a year) I came across this short video of a suicide survivor and I feel it's good to share with anyone who may be passing through a lot. Personally I remember when I suffered job loss way back 2016 it was really tough for me and I understand what it is for someone to contemplate suicide. Enough typing for now, take out a few minutes to learn from the video and share to groups/persons it may be useful to. JhyMedex:Sorry I didn't see this on time. There is a fence separating the compound. These two compounds were once owned by the same landlord b4 the other one was sold. So when the fencing was to be done, the squatter in the other compound would have done a deal with the workmen to connect his compound. With the fence and the illegal connection discovered there is no way he can reconnect himself again |
Nbote:He stays at the outskirts so he doesn't enjoy the privilege. |
Nigeria & NONSENSE.. We returned home last night by God's grace with our reserve fuel. This morning I went to queue for petrol. Most fuel stations were not selling. I had said I will not buy at ₦280/litre but I ended up buying at ₦330 just so the reserve fuel in the car would not finish. My tyre needed pumping & I stopped at a vulcanizer's place to pump it & realized that it was punctured. The total cost to fix it & pump my tyres was ₦700. I asked if I could transfer the money to him but he said no due to his mistrust of transfers. I had to go to the nearest bank to withdraw cash. I got to the bank & saw a crowd. I was given a number to know my turn & it was 192. The worst part is that they haven't loaded their machines & as at 10:20 now, they haven't started dispensing cash. -Ade Poetic |
Far from that for me.. I spent my entire morning till past noon queuing for petrol(Since I had to take my queen & prince to stay over at my mother-in-law's place). Majority in my neighborhood were not selling & the only one selling was doing so at N285 per liter. I went far & waited on a long queue. By the time I was 4 cars away from the pump they said their petrol had finished. I went towards Nnyaya & joined another queue to get petrol & by the time I was 6 cars away from the pump, they said petrol has finished . We eventually risked proceeding to Nasarawa state on reserve fuel & eventually got petrol along the way at N280 per liter. Not to even mention our gas finished last night. . All in all, we THANK God for good health and life. - Ade Poetic |
CuteMadridista:Na magun such a mán is playing with. He may be killed in anger. Be wise |
I had an awful day after making breakfast & washing my clothes, we had to rush to town to make a delivery & teach. There was no time to queue for petrol. I determined that the reserve will take us to town & on our way back we'd buy petrol but unfortunately all the petrol stations in town that we saw, invariably had endless queues hence we decided to risk it & proceed towards our side. On getting to our express way towards Kubo, we saw a not so long queue at Shema & we gladly joined it. By the time I realized that we were in the same spot for a long time, I stepped out to find out what was happening & saw that they were no longer selling petrol. I inquired what was happening & I was told that they just stopped. Not long after they sold to a few cars that came in through the exit gate & parked abnormally while they ignored those parked right beside the fuel pumps on the queue. I asked the man that was meant to be served why he was ignored (as the fuel attendant even stretched the nozzle across his car to serve a lady out of the queue), he said the attendant ignored him. After serving about 8 cars they turned off the pumps. A man from the North that speaks Hausa went to inquire & he was told that they would sell to him if he has N5000 to part with(bribe). He came back & told us. The highest I have heard to have your tank filled during scarcity was N1000. This was insane. I intended to manage N7k petrol for the week & they expect me to bribe with N5k?! They served another group & some fellow Hausa speaking men inquired why they refused to sell to those of us on queue & he was told that their petrol is down to their reserve level. Even if that was true, then they ought not to sell to anyone & if they wanted to it ought to be on first come first served basis. Last last they refused to sell. Someone said we should call D. P. R..... They last time I heard, D. P. R don't function again What a country?! -Poetic Templer (greatest Abuja poet) |
Obidient4Tinubu:Money go finish. Blessing no dey finish |
SergeantTitus:Na so we take dey do cheerful giver until politicians loot all our resources finish. No be so oh |
adecz:Entitlement mentality. The borehole has a meter attached to it which I load as required. When there was no light I paid for fuel to pump. There are times maintenance is carried out on the plumbing system and tanks. Nothing is free. Even those who have taps outside their gate regulate it and don't leave it on anyhow |
hothead:Bros you really need to do investigations. Reminds me of when my nepa bill went up. I did serious investigation and all was resolved in my favour. You can check my previous threads for that story |
backnbeta:You have spoken well. They have been disconnected already. As for tap they don't deserve it. Also the entrance of the said compound is not on my street so they would sort themselves out from their close |
Imole001:Makes sense |
SoftBread01:I know the kind of landlord I have he is very formal and straightforward. If there was an arrangement he would have informed me. Anyway either way if there is an arrangement he would get back to me which I know is not possible |
Tmberwolf1:Na. I'm not based in South west |
Imole001:I'm not expecting anyone to ask me anything. They will sort themselves out. And generally in my compound we don't answer the gate for strangers/unexpected visitors ![]() |
Stallionhorse:The compound is behind mine and so on another close. It would be more realistic for them to liaise with their neighbours on the same street. The fact that they were crooked means they should continue, no need for discussion |
SoftBread01:It would have been wise of them to let me know first. But since their wisdom advised them to be crooked I have done the needful |
Imole001:No time to waste they have been disconnected |
Imole001:Already disconnected them |
TheKrakon:One day the owner go over drive the generator to burst some things for your flat ![]() |
Imole001:It's a decent estate but there are a few undeveloped properties here and there. The compound behind mine is among them and occupied by squatters |
Sekoni003:Doesn't matter. He has been cut off. So such leakage would not happen again ![]() |
Sekoni003:Very unlikely the compound behind is occupied by squatters. The landlord does not stay in the compound and would have informed us of such arrangements |
I have heard of neighbours tapping or stealing from a neighbours big generator before. I have also heard of neighbours stealing from another neighbours Fuel supply But this is a first for me and I am a witness. Recently we did not have power supply for a little over 4 days due to a faulty transformer. On a particular day we pumped water into two water tanks and it finished under 4 hours. These are tanks that ideally should last well over a week. So it was obvious there was a leakage. Today a plumber came to investigate and discovered the compound at the back had linked a pipe to our own and has been TAPPING water for God knows how long. Well he has been disconnected and he will surely have to sort himself out. As he no go fit talk am out

JaySterling:I don't think so. STRICTLY for most senior government officials and embassy staff |
JaySterling:You have to be a senior government officer or work at a Nigerian embassy |
To understand better you can go through the previous threads https://www.nairaland.com/7193224/phed-crazy-bills. But let me see how best I can summarise. As of February this year I noticed when I recharge my prepaid meter I was getting half of the units I was supposed to get. I discovered that a debt of 65k was allocated to my meter. A trip to a major office at Ordinance revealed the amount and the staff there said the debt was from 2013. I informed the staff that I made checks and there was no debt on the meter before moving in over so many years I have been there. I wrote a mail and dropped at the office and got no feedback. I sent several emails and followed up on Social media (fb, ig, twitter ) Still no response. Recently about late June the deductions became worse and 5k would last just like 3 to 4 days. I had to find my way to the Head office gan gaan. I finally met a Customer service officer who attended to me well. I wrote again and she promised to resolve it within a month. I got a call last week and was able to go today. Long and short the crazy billing is Over and excess charges will be refunded. Lessons to learn. Don't give up Things are not totally messed up in Nigeria. Follow through.

It doesn't matter if it's them or not, he should just disconnect. How will you fill 2 big tanks, and it runs out in 4hrs? That's wickedness
