The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors on Thursday afternoon stormed former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s residence, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, in over a dozen vehicle convoy.
The governors, who arrived Obasanjo’s mansion on Presidential Hill -Top Estate at exactly 12:40pm, quickly went into secret meeting with their host who had been waiting for them.
Although the names of the governors on the visit or their numbers could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, it was discovered that the Akwa Ibom State governor, Godswill Akpabio, is in the entourage by virtues of the number plates seen on the governor’s escort vehicles. The vehicles bear the state’s marks.
Other governors believed on the trip to the former president’s home are that of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke and his Bauchi State counterpart, Isa Yuguda.
Our correspondent gathered that Niger State governor, Babangida Aliu, is also at the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting, according to sources close to the governors may not be unconnected with the frosty relation between Obasanjo and President Goodluck Jonathan.
The meeting is still ongoing.

Officials of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) including the main financier, Ifeanyi Ubah of Capital Oil Limited, were on Tuesday night held hostage for close to four hours for failure to honour their financial commitment to the rented crowd that attended President Goodluck Jonathan’s official declaration.

The crisis started when the hired supporters demanded that they be paid in full for the three days that they stayed in Abuja.

At press time, the rented crowd were still protesting that the N40,000 agreed to be paid per head for four nights was not honoured.

One of the protesters hired told THISDAY at the Ogude Street office of TAN that they were angry and would not vacate TAN’s office until they were paid the agreed sum.


“We came from various part of the country, some of us were promised N40,000, depending on which part of the country you came from. I came from Nnewi in Anambra State and it was agreed that we should be paid N40,000 but they are giving us N5,000 per head and we are rejecting it, as it was not part of our agreement,” she said.

She said Ubah had directed that the money be increased up to N10,000, which was still not acceptable to them.
The Director of Communications, TAN, Udenta Udenta denied that they were held hostage by aggrieved supporters, stating that the noise emanating from the Odude Street office was the carnival that followed the successful declaration by Jonathan.

I am not aware of any money promised to any supporter. I am in my house relaxing after a successful outing,” promising to get back to THISDAY, but he never did.

the other time i heard wike Nysome that his people bought nomination form for him to contest for the Governor of rivers state, senate president David Mark was weeping when his constituencies bought nomination form for him, Mr Ignatius Longjan the deputy governor of plateau state claims the same to contest governor in his state even against his principal anointed candidate and we are till waiting for Ijaw youth council to purchase nomination form for GEJ to contest for president.

franchizy: At an extraordinary General meeting of the Global Youth Forum held at Abuja, it was resolved that Former president Olusegun Obasanjo and the APC be given a 24hrs ultimatum to tender a public Appology to president Goodluck Johnathan or face our wrath.
The APC are also to make a public statement withdrawing its call for the impeachment of president Johnathan or we will mobilize Nigerian youths against the party.
We have observed with dismay the controversies been generated by the letter and the call for the presidents impeachment.
It is sad that at time when president Goodluch Johnathan is workin and transforming the natiob, rather than been encouraged for his good works, the cowards are distracting.
We wish to state it clearly that should Obasanjo and APC refuses to appologise, we shall shut all activities in the country.

protest is going on now at nddc office aba road protharcourt. some youths in number are protesting toward the nddc building but as at now the mobile police and anti riot has barricades the protesters, spraying of tear gas and causing alot of traffic on the express road.
