TV/MoviesRe: Does A Perfect Nollywood Script Look Like This?? (photo) by Emmyk(m): 12:44am On Jun 27, 2018
emonkey:
The typical Nollywood script has no dialogue. The artists do not have the capacity to memorise anything and therefore they improvise on dialogue as they go along. Very lazy and primitive. That is why a Nigerian artist will never have a place in the international film making scene.
Lol.

Thecassanova:
That's the spirit man. Can you please share your nutrition plan so others can learn?

About the abs fat layer, it deals a lot with your nutrition. If you not eating right it wouldn't show right. Not only sit-ups, also do leg raises, that helps to burn the fat at the lower part of your abdomen (that's the hardest/last fat portion to burn). Crunches, bicycle crunch (this will help your side fat), and plank also helps.

How is the 'V' line at the lower abdomen coming? That shiit looks sexy to have. Keep it up.
About the nutrition part, I just eat the normal food I've been eating in the past, no special diet. I eat 3 times in a day, meat, eggs, fruits, vegetables, etc.

I think consistency with the exercise helped me add muscles and not necessarily what I eat.

But you are absolutely right about the abs layer fat, I believe it needs a nutrition which I'm not giving it. I eat heavy food in the night most times. grin - Amala, semo, wheat, pounded yam, eba. I don't think consistency works here if you are not eating right.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll include the leg raise exercise.

The 'V' shape at my lower abdomen? I've been like this for years now, the abs only show when I suck in my stomach, I took this picture 15 months ago and I'm still pretty much the same, today.

HealthRe: How To Keep Up With Fitness Lifestyle When You Have Such A Busy Lifestyle by Emmyk(m): 2:48pm On Jun 11, 2018
I didn't believe I could add more weight or muscles as I'd weighed around 59/60kg for over 3 years.

I watched some YouTube videos and I started indoor workout 121 days ago - 150pushups. 30-40reps.

The result is quite amazing so far. I now weigh 65kg, meaning I've added 6kg in 4months, with nice biceps and all.

I added sit-ups 61days ago, 30-50reps, tho the little layer of fats in my belly do not want to remove, but I won't give up. grin grin

It was challenging the first week, my body was sour, that I couldn't do 150 pushups again after the first day, till day 9!

I have more confidence in myself now, looking at the mirror. I am also more fit and healthier.

You can achieve whatever you desire, if you put your mind to it. cool

Please, kindly let the guy who quoted me above understand this fact ma. He thinks mixing up with some spoilt kids or being taught by a local teacher in the disguice disguise of British school makes him have his accent different from from the boy who went to a public school. I guess he is under 15. I may be wrong but from his assumptions, that is his level of reasoning. Please, just leave him alone.

I usually hear such kids speak funny thinking their accent is clear. But to me, it is just the same as the boy who went to local schools. But they do not know.

Sister, the issue is that you can know someone is from Nigeria because you can hear his/her distinct way of voicing some sounds which is peculiar to Nigerians. It doesnt make Nigerians inferior but it is just better to reduce ones accent in a place where not too many speak like one. Simple as ABC. But an inferior complex person will argue with you to dead end. Just leave him, and walk away.

Just from one sentence or two, it is easy to identify a Nigerian, a ghanian, a kenyan, a zambiam, a south african, etc. Why? Every commumity has a general way of speaking.

Thanks for your post. Bless you.
cheesy grin
@highlighted, there is a difference between speaking fluently with proper pronunciations and faking a British accent, slowpoke!

Your reasoning is so 1842. Hello! grin

First, learn how to discuss without direct attacking. Second, learn to bring out facts and not just talk. Third, learn to prove your points logically. I cannot even mske sense of you quoting me. A beg, no time for your kind of talk.

The way you concluded that I meant "all" is a clue that I should not continue with you. And if you have been following me and you still think its local league I play with all I have written might mean you might have difficulties in arrival at a reasonable conclusion no matter the facts you have before you. Bro, i do not have time to discuss with low level arguments. And I do not time to attack anyone. Make your point and leave it to the audience to decide. If you call some people low and irrevant people because you think you went to one british fake school in Nigeria, it is your cup of tea. I roll with everyone, and it is why i replied you with your low level assumptions, but it is not helping.

I respect all on nairaland, including you. Please, you have a diiferent way of reasoning from mine, and I still do not see you inferior. But you have just shown your level of reasoning.

I wish you luck.
Same boring hogwash.

You have a short-term memory as you've forgotten you generalized in your earlier post.

I wish you luck also, with your myopic reasoning!

@fluentinfor , I still insist you are generalising that all Yorubas have the 'H' factor, all Hausas pronouce "People" as "Veevle" or "Feefle" or Igbos pronoucing letter R in a weird way.

My guess is you've been meeting strictly those that grew up in typical villages but I'm in no way ruling out the fact that those that grew up in the cities do not have these mother-tongue interference.

You can regale me with another long epistle with irrelevant analogies in your next reply, still won't change anything. cool

"Nigerians speak good/bad English" Hmmm! This topic is about accent; however, if grammar is poor, it affects the speaker negatively.

Someone above wrote "Nigerians speak clearly and distinctly. Distinctly, I agree, but clearly, I am not so sure. I think she got so used to her dad's ways of saying his words in my own opinion. So, she has no difficulty to understand people who sound like her dad.

Nigerians speak good English. I agree if the speaker knows grammatical rules. Seriously, most Nigerians do not know tenses rules. But I have met some guys that are just super. Ok, just go through nairaland and you will see errors. Well, these errors will not have extreme negative effect if the mistakes are minor. There are some errors that can mislead listeners.

Nigerians speak good English. I disagree if the speaker does not pronounce his/her words well. It is why someone wrote above that they speak distinctly. How?

1. They speak too fast. Lol. Especially when Nigerians are debating political topics. Jeeeez! When Chelsea don dey hammer Arsenal.

2. A) 99% of Nigerians pronounce "thank" as "tank". Nigerians do not know where to place their tongues when pronuoucing th.

B) Hausas pronouce "People" as "Veevle" or "Feefle". Igbos have a unique way of pronoucing the letter R. They over roll it. Lol. Yoruba Language doesnt have the letter "h". It is why they write Sade instead of Shade, Sola instead of Shola, etc. So, do not expect a yoruba man to pronounce "house" correctly. He is going to say "ouse".

Also, pick and peak; hat and hart; bitch and beach; etc. are areas to watch out for. So when a naija is discussing soccer/football, he uses the shorter version of every word because he is in hurry to say many words on top of his voice. Lol.

It is not a bad idea to enrol in an accent reduction class when you find yourself in an environment you need to speak clearly so that majority can understand you without saying eh, what, repeat, etc. It may affect you if you need to make presentations to some groups of people.
Lol. Where did you get all these statistics you've been dishing out in your posts? 99% of this, 98%.

I'm a Yoruba man and I pronounce 'house' correctly. Lol. cheesy

You are only generalising, I believe it all boils down to one's educational background and your family/environment.

Going to good schools also help reduce mother-tongue interference as well as fluency when speaking.

You even proved me right by replying my comment.

What is Gringo? It is not a popular Yoruba name and if you check well, it means a loy in other languages in the world. As for the "Dope"...it was pronounced as DOPE...a synonym used in describing something that is classy eg: "Mehn, this car is dope!" and not your yoruba Dope name. Small thing now una go claim say NIKE (the sports wear manufacturing giant) is Nike (Shape form of Adenike).

As for you mentioning yorubas doing well outside, don't even go there because a list of Igbos making waves in different spheres of life in diaspora will drown your Yoruba list.
Okay, we've heard you "Rampage" is an Igbo word now.
