Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has said the protests against him by opposition and its allies will make him more popular and get sympathy of the people. Speaking on this month’s edition of his media chat, Meet Your Governor, which was aired by major electronic media and monitored by our reporter last night, Fayose said anybody that fights him is fighting against God who he said put in the position he occupies. The governor challenged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to come out with statements from former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd) and former Minister of State (Defence) Musiliu Obanikoro that he collected arms cash from the duo. Fayose boasted that despite his latest travails, he is still popular among the people of Ekiti. He accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of using the opportunity of controlling the Federal Government to intimidate him and muzzle the opposition. He quoted some portions in the Bible to substantiate his position that those fighting him are fighting God. The governor called the APC leaders and other interest groups that trooped out earlier in the day as “people who have no sense and dancing ridiculously before the people” adding that even if they continue their protest everyday for the next one month, it meant nothing to him. Fayose said: “Is it because APC is now in control of the Federal Government that they are causing this distraction? Those who were in office before me must also be investigated by the EFCC because the petitions to that effect are before them. “For them, it is war everyday; if it is not government, they will try to bring down the government and that was what they did in 2006. It is only if it was not God that brought me here that will make them to succeed, it was God that made me governor. “All these useless rallies will be making me more popular; all their rallies against me will make me to get more sympathy from the people. Calling Fayose ole (thief) on the streets means nothing to me and the people. “You can hold your protest for the next one month, they will only continue to ridicule themselves because Ekiti people have given me their mandate. Well that's your opinion young man and I don't get your point.

I must say I am highly disappointed in some people especially the ones I thought would stand up against this era of oppression by the Buhari led government. I have never met with Olisah Metuh neither am I his relative or political associate. In fact, he doesn't know me but I want to put the record straight base on logical and rational reasoning. I am not in support of corruption even though I am totally against the ongoing one sided fight against it.

Olisa Metuh has never denied collecting the 400 Million naira from the Former President Goodluck Jonathan in the first place. Since his arraignment, Metuh stand is that GEJ gave him the money to carry out a project which he executed perfectly. But EFCC did all they could to torture him into submitting an offence he didn't commit.

For those celebrating that Metuh offers to return the "looted funds" while pledging his support against Buhari fight against corruption, let it be known that he was advised by his relations to take the decision and not his wish. The family of Metuh offered to source for funds and return it so that he can attend his medical needs since the EFCC are hell bend in torturing him till surrender instead of allowing the court to pronounce judgment.

Until the court says otherwise, Olisah Metuh is NOT guilty, he was only a victim of torture to forced him into accepting to return the funds.

Lastly, until people like Burutai, Kayode Fayemi, Rotimi, Aisha, Fashola, Tinubu and the rest are probed I will continue to see Buhari as an unrepentant tyrant.

2019 is not too far again.
