arduino:Na crypto?... Coupled with the policy, economic and mainly security uncertainties associated with 2023 election yr (uncertainties which will start becoming very obvious from next yr). My bother buying in tranches is ok..but some very heavy retail value investors are busy making money in fixed income securities while they sit tight for the pickings when the FPIs will begin to react and offload...just a matter of time..b/w 2022/2023. We have to bear in mind that these uncertainties have consequencies |
pizapato:My thoughts exactly! |
erwinschro:I find a fair balance with "Morgan Capital" - execution is immediate & fees are low. *my opinion* |
chigo4u:*Cash deposits aren't allowed. *Transfer fees apply when carrying out interbank transfers ( all fees borne by you). *A way to avoid the transfer fees when subscribing is to have a usd acct domiciled in the same bank as the fund custodian bank, this way you simply source fr your usd (as inflow) and then do an intra bank transfer to the eurobond fund act. Even if you buy cash then depisit in ur dorm act, you won't be able to use it for wealth mgt activities like yje eurobond or usd funds. Funds must be inflow. |
Has the market already priced in the recent increasing security uncertainties in the country? June will be an interesting month to observe market reaction (if any). Also crude price at current levels is a +ve. However with the opec+ set to meet in days to approve some reduction in the prod cuts and iran ready to ramp-up prodcution as soon as sanctions are lifted, One wonders how will all these impact the NGX. Just thinking out loud |
Tobex4realTobex234:Ok..this is new info fr me. How do you buy Kenyan Shilling with Naira? via the bank? 3rd party?..where/which? |
Tobex4realTobex234:Haba! Brother, It's not that bad na.. We still live in naija and mostly spend the naira na. |
purleesh:Purleesh, Understand that due to cbn policy, banks no longer allow cash usd deposits to be used for wealth management activities..(i.e all dem USD/eurobond funds etc.) So I'll advise you buy usd as inflow (and not cash) since there is no restricrion as to the amt and the usage if its an inflow. By inflow, i mean electronic transfer. Everdon bdc offer this service although @ 510naira last time i used them. I am open to suggestions as to an alternative...if any one knows how to buy inflow usd at better rates. Hope this helps. |

emmanuelewumi:Oga Emma, no eurobond/dollar fund? Any particular reason why? |
emmanuelewumi:Thanks a lot. |
emmanuelewumi:That won't apply as i have had the account for over 2 years. As for the additional payment/returns outside of the 4.5%, do we know relatively what additional percent? (historically)? maybe @emmasoft can enlighten me. |
MPR maintained at 11.5% Oga Emma @emmanuelewumi .Any thoughts? With FBN MMF @ circa 6.5%, time to port reserves/emergency fund from VGIF to FBNMMF.

Emefiele made the disclosure on Saturday during an inspection tour of the sites of Dangote Refinery, Petrochemicals Complex Fertiliser Plant and Subsea Gas Pipeline projects at Ibeju Lekki, Lagos. The CBN governor noted that the 15 billion dollar projects being constructed by the Dangote Group would save Nigeria from expending about 41 per cent of its foreign exchange on importation of petroleum products. Emefiele said: ”Based on agreement and discussions with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and the oil companies, the Dangote Refinery can buy its crude in naira, refine it, and produce it for Nigerians’ use in naira. “That is the element where foreign exchange is saved for the country becomes very clear. “We are also very optimistic that by refining this product here in Nigeria, all those costs associated with either demurrage from import, costs associated with freight will be totally eliminated. “This will make the price of our petroleum products cheaper in naira. “If we are lucky that what the refinery produces is more than we need locally you will see Nigerian businessmen buying small vessels to take them to our West African neighbours to sell to them in naira. “This will increase our volume in naira and help to push it into the Economic Community of West African States as a currency,” Emefiele said. Emefiele expressed optimism that the refinery would be completed by the first quarter of 2022, adding that this would put an end to the issue of petrol subsidy in the country. “I am saying that by this time next year, our cost of import of petroleum products for petrochemicals or fertiliser will be able to save that which will save Nigeria’s reserve Question: What are your thoughts regarding this w.r.t the naira in the medium term ![]() |
yMcy56:OMO & NTB rates on the rise. Investors taking profit from equities and migrating to money market. I believe rates will continue to improve even into H2. 2021 |
