zimams: Real opportunity cost.... The bank should have issued profit warning father care about their shareholders. There about is 50% loss in the bank activities, which might have hindered their dividend payment. The group did well overall |

ZENITH: Marked down....... opening price, N22.20 UBA Dividend Info: Final Dividend: 0.35kobo Qualification Date: 19th March, 2021 Payment Date: 1st April, 2021 http://www.nse.com.ng/Financial_NewsDocs/32564_UNITED_BANK_FOR_AFRICA_PLC%20DIVIDEND_ANNOUNCEMENT__CORP.pdf It pays to have much money in this market..... Let's see if Tony will come thru for UBA after a day or 2's dumping......... If you picked high and you have some reserved funds, just wait for bottom price, then buy more to average down.....I'm sure UBA will have reason(s) for this low dividend..... |

Chai! Oga Tony don carry our money go buy oil wells, sha there are consequences for bad behaviour Even dead FBNH might pay between 80-90k in dividend this year (I'm 70% certain of this but don't take my word as I could be wrong too). Thankful for Zenith and GTB (in anticipation). Access fit surprise us too join, positively or negatively |

Before you press that SELL button on UNITED BANK OF AFRICA PLC (UBA PLC) shares Lets reason together; *NPL (Non Performing Loan ratio) reduced in the year under review * The Gross earning and profit after tax increased significantly * No pending court case that that can claim up to 50 billion naira * Directors of UBA are buying more shares * Tony Elumelu and his family members are increasing their holdings in UBA But at the end of the 2020 FYE, UBA declared a very poor dividend and on the other hand the company performance was sterling. Ok nah, you want to begin to dump UBA shares because of poor dividend and thrash their good performance to teach the board small sense. I strongly believe UBA is embarking on investment drive in 2021 that will require alot of cash and that is the reason the company has retained a large chunk of the 2020 profit. 7 Likes |

Mcy56:Madam, let Tony and his guys come and have it. I'll be back when the time is right. I'm a long term investor and my dividends are very important. In my case, this is not panic selling. I just need to reduce my position in UBA for the obvious reason. There're a few other opportunities in the market so no sentiments here. Besides, I bought very low so no loss at all. It's still a winning game! 8 Likes |

robobo:Let's not be surprised if UBA closed around N8 today........ They've not even spent N1B yet nah........ At least I'm loving the fact that they're working towards protecting values and preventing massive shedding so far........at least let them stabilize it first...... UCAP: On its way to N5, not expected to stay long below 5.......all things been equal.... |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Tvegas(m): 10:55am On Mar 09, 2021 |
samguru:No matter how we cut this scenario, its insensitive on the part of UBA to cut dividend payout, if you cant increase dividend then you should maintain status quo. With naira losing value by an average of 10% per annum and with real market inflation at 30%, every investor should be concerned about the annual return and inflow on their investment. With the way Nigeria is going there is no guaranty that future investment by UBA will yield superior return, we are all just taking risk. My motto now is "Na wetin bird chop na him he go take fly". 13 Likes |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yinkacrown(m): 12:15pm On Mar 09, 2021 |
Either the company wants to re-invest the profit *OR* it is an 'audio' profit. Still, it is a total disregard for your long-term investors to cut dividend so dramatically whilst also reporting improved results. samguru: |
