EgunMogaji:Then we must exist in different time zones. Preparing to go off to work then. Some things baffle me, like how people criticize doctors who expend their lives trying to make people better in this hell-ridden country. Just observe how doctors after training here do everything within their means to leave the country for greener pastures, to places where they're better appreciated. People who spend their lives taking care of ungrateful citizens yet no one bothers to ask them anytime, 'doc, are you ok?'. Underpaid, ill-equipped, abused and degraded by the same people they lay down their youth, happiness and families for. Nigerians are indeed the most ungrateful people ever! My advise to any aspiring doc, when you graduate, abeg go to Canada. Go to USA or other 'countries' where you will be treated as a human if not a god. Enough of all these. Let their politicians and religious clerics take care of them. They're very much capable. No life of any Nigerian is worth it. See how people bash them here, when they fall sick tomorrow they'll carry their useless heads and go to hospitals after their pastors and imams have fleeced them of what they ought to have given to the hospitals. Shithole country with shithole citizens. |
nkwuocha:Those many animals are still doing what they're trained to do...saving lives, with/without your approval. Go to developed countries and check out those running their health care...from USA to Cyprus, the same animals who trained here under conditions termed appropriate by 'sane' humans like you undoubtedly. What do you do for a living? |
nkwuocha:Those many animals are still doing what they're trained to do...saving lives, with/without your approval. What do you do for a living? |
ELKHALIFAISIS:When you fall sick please go to iya sukurat, your neighborhood nurse who's an Albert Einstein in curing sick or dying people. Don't ever carry your two left legs to a Nigerian hospital cos you'll be disappointed from the gate. I assure you. |
EgunMogaji:Good morning sir. |
Bashing medical doctors and hospitals is a norm on NL. If they're not 'raping' patients, they're accused of negligence of duty or worse still, outright murder. Why don't you all transfer your frustrations to the appropriate quarters: the FG that has refused to make your lives better. What's the difference between checking him inside or outside, knowing the antecedents of patients' relatives who are quick to blame the hospital after spending all their money on quacks and unorthodox herbal patent dealers. Now I see why madness is not time-specific. People can just wake up and continue from the previous day. No difference. |
RIP Davide Astori. Death can come to anyone at anytime. Even the great strides achieved in medicine and health care hasn't prevented death. This is an enemy we've not been able to defeat. It's painful. His two year old daughter will grow up never able to see her father again. I pray his family, friends, ex team mates and the entire Italian family have the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. You loved your job Davide. Everyday. Everytime. You were a hero, you died a legend in but you live on in our hearts. A life well lived. |
Prettypepisco:How much? |
victorian:What is my business? See this one oo I never settle my matter finish na imaginary families I go add to my prob? You better go and sleep |
victorian:Here we go again. Old wives tales never run dry. |
I need to leave. |
#my2pence I see a lot of unmarried youths who ought to realise the truth. You don't need to accumulate a fortune to marry. Infact, the less you've the more realistic considering the present-day craze for materialistic possessions. Marriage ought to be a lifelong commitment. My advise to young men is to marry while they're still young. Be in love, settle down, use your youthful energy while you can to hustle and provide for your family. When you grow into mid/old age, your kids are out trying to start your own family which decreases the burden on you. Do your research and see how many 60 year Olds and 70 year Olds are still training their kids through school. It's alarming. For we men, get a woman who appreciates you for who you're, who's willing to do the 'dirty work' with you in order to have a settled family. Ladies, give the young men a chance. Not everyone means bad for you. Some of these men only need someone to believe in them, their dreams, their ambitions, their desires to love and be loved in return. That doesn't necessarily have to be measured by money at hand. We have so monetised our lives that everything is based on what the other person has at hand. Marriage doesn't have to be elaborate. The most important thing is what happens after the ceremony. Left to me, a court wedding coupled with a traditional marriage between me and my Beau is sufficient. The land recognizes it, God recognizes it. I don't need any religious wedding. Our parents give their blessings and life goes on. Forget the facade of the ceremony. Life after marriage is what really counts. Just a piece of my mind. |
Femi otedola has endorsed him. I expect other beneficiaries to also endorse him in coming weeks. While the masses bear the brunt. Politics in Nigeria make me burst into laughter. Lemme make it clear. If you're not ready to serve, you're not ready to lead. |
It's good to see Barcelona fans masturbating to madrid's success. It turns them on. I hope you all didn't have nightmares in your dreams. |
I will begin a justified campaign of calumny against the devious and senseless personalities who call themselves mods but are nothing but raving and hideous animals. Just observe as one of them has been unleashed on nairaland after being fed bread and beans by his paymaster. We will continue to expose your highly dodgy nature. Ban will never stop us. Una Mumu don do. |
NaijaMutant:This is unnecessary, trust me. I'm used to this attitude. I don't get ashamed anymore. We are being stripped of our dignity daily. There is nothing like mod anymore. He who pays the piper dictates the tune. You ought to know where his allegiance lies by now. Ban or no ban, some people have simply lost all amount of reasoning. God will spare our lives to see the end of this charade. |
I'm utterly disgusted. |
My big eyes. Later discovered they were just making fun of me |
XhosaNostra:Ok. Have a swell time. Lemme attend to other things. Time waits for no one. ![]() All the best. Nice chatting with you though. You choose the right moments to be hilarious. Kinda needed sometimes. |
XhosaNostra:Other places have other colours. Grey, e.t.c. Like I said, it's not restricted to the east. It's just predominant. Besides that road isn't tarred. Once it's tarred, you'll notice the colour change. Asphalt or thereabout. |
XhosaNostra:Very common in the eastern part of Nigeria. Took that picture when I was in my finals. I'm back to Lagos now that's why I said it should have given it away. When you see red soil, it's likely to be from the east, but it's not exclusive to that region. Igbo tribe originates and is the predominant tribe in eastern nigeria. |
XhosaNostra:Ok. But I was born and practically grew up in Lagos (amongst the yorubas) until I left for my undergraduate studies. Couple of friends still don't believe I'm not a yoruba native so you're pardoned. The red soil should have given it away. |
XhosaNostra:I'm from the Igbo tribe |
XhosaNostra:Ok. That's good. Why is Yoruba the first tribe that came to your mind? |
XhosaNostra:What tribe? |
XhosaNostra:Hehehehe. Are you a native of SA? |
XhosaNostra:I can prepare the takeaways Xhosa. All you need do is 'take' it from the kitchen to your room. I'll even feed you if you want to. ![]() Just name the takeaway, it's my job to fix it, for a token. I know you get tired too. That's why you should rest. What are intracontinental pals for? I hope sunday rest doesn't prevent you from going to church? |
XhosaNostra:Then you ought to cook something then. It doesn't take the whole day. Just my opinion. Lolz, ok employ me to cook for you on weekends. I don't come cheap |
XhosaNostra:Are you always busy on weekends? Yes I can. |

I'm Xhosa.
