ifeness: Do you rather pray for a change? If you were a wee bit precise, or better still if you had tied your question to a subject matter, it would have been much more interesting to answer. Because now I don't know what aspect I should touch. But from my own views we can pray for a change in some situations, and also work towards a change in others. |

Religion / The Lord Is Not Slow To Do What He Has Promised, As Some Think. by emperortony: 12:18am On Jul 27, 2014 |
This is a message many unbelievers do not like to hear, so they try as much as possible, to distort our minds with questions about the lord's coming. Many at times as christians we have been challenge by unbelievers, about the veracity of the second coming of Christ. And at other times, why he has taken so much time to come if indeed he was actually coming. And today with some few bible verses I would like to reassure you faith as we wait for is coming. We will be reading from. (2peter 3-10 good news translation) 3 First of all, you must understand that in the last days some people will appear whose lives are controlled by their own lusts. They will make fun of you(christians) 4 and will ask, “He promised to come, didn't he? Where is he? Our ancestors have already died, but everything is still the same as it was since the creation of the world!” 5 They purposely ignore the fact that long ago God gave a command, and the heavens and earth were created. The earth was formed out of water and by water, 6 and it was also by water, the water of the flood, that the old world was destroyed. 7 But the heavens and the earth that now exist are being preserved by the same command of God, in order to be destroyed by fire. They are being kept for the day when godless people will be judged and destroyed. 8 But do not forget one thing, my dear friends! There is no difference in the Lord's sight between one day and a thousand years; to him the two are the same. 9 The Lord is not slow to do what he has promised, as some think. Instead, he is patient with you, because he does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants all to turn away from their sins. 10 But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. On that Day the heavens will disappear with a shrill noise, the heavenly bodies will burn up and be destroyed, and the earth with everything in it will vanish. As you can see from this passage, this questions we face today was predicted by a disciple of christ name peter. And you know the bible is the only book that has the past, present and future in it. So with this let us all reassure our self with the word of God, as we try to live a holy life awaiting his coming. And not forgetting to use every medium we have to win soul for christ. Happy sunday and God bless you all. |

macof: Next time don't quote me, am not even sure if you are human!!! Any reasonable human would have made his/her point without quoting me. Abi I resemble your papa Or you just want to be noticed. And As to my initial statement If you are a human and can read correctly I said some of our culture and traditions need to be outgrown. Maybe you probably have some of those horrible marks on your face, and you think everybody must look like an animal such as your self. And please prove to me that you are a human by not quoting me again, because am too busy to reply an animal. I pray you are human though. |

Where are those group of people that comes up to say we must preserve our culture. thank God my tribe does not require markings so I support team preserve our culture today. Truth be told some of our culture and traditions are obsolete and insane, and should be outgrown. This is more like an abuse to the child, and not to mention the fact that it makes them look comical. 1 Like |

Romance / Re: "There's Not A Faithful Man" by emperortony: 3:43pm On Jul 25, 2014 |
The bible says for all other temptations you can bind and loose, but for fornication you should flee which means you should run away whenever you see an opportunity to carry out fornication. So to an extent I would agree with you, but there are still faithful men who have been able, and are still able to flee from fornication. There is no strong man when it comes to the sin of immorality, cause the mind is willing but the body is weak. So to be strong is to flee from it. And to be a faithful man is to know when, and how to flee. Psalm1 gives a better suggestion of how to do away with fornication or any other sin. Eg from walking near it, you will soon stand to get a better sight, from standing you will take a chair and sit, thereby becoming a master thereafter you sleep which could possibly means death. sorry for derailing a bit 2 Likes |

Religion / Re: Design An Anti-Tithe Tract for £50 by emperortony: 12:19pm On Jul 16, 2014 |
DrummaBoy: I haven't read the said post you referred me to, will do that later. And yes you are right the sadducees and pharisees are like "men of God" or more like keepers of the law. Like I said during my first independent post I figuratively employed that scripture, so as to make the non-tithers let us pay our tithes and not try to make us become like them. "If they won't pay, they shouldn't try to stop those who are ready to pay" this is the point I wanted to make with that scripture and not the original "heaven's meaning as denoted in the passage". I personally don't believe the consequences of not paying tithe is hell. I hardly make post as well cause most of the time it result to e-fighting and derogatory remark. So try to get my point let the tithers pay their tithe and the non-tither abstain from it, A man has the right to make up his mind. So creating a tract to discourage a man from tithing, I feel its an infringement and that was the major reason why I left my "sit down look" stance to drop a comment. It may not be worthwhile like you tags my 1st post, but at least I tried. |
Religion / Re: Design An Anti-Tithe Tract for £50 by emperortony: 11:05am On Jul 16, 2014 |
Gombs: Yes, that was why I quoted this scripture Matt.23:13 reads..“How terrible for you, teachers of the Law and Pharisees! You hypocrites! You lock the door to the Kingdom of heaven in people's faces, but you yourselves don't go in, nor do you allow in those who are trying to enter! Go in" another annoying statement they make I quote " so if I am now receiving 10m my tithe will now me 1m" imagine they've not even started receiving the said money they are now looking @ the tithe with contempt. I imagine God on his throne saying, this one I will never allow to earn 10m cause he is already stingy with his thoughts. Is it not better to receive 10m and you pay a tithe of 1m, than to receive, 1m and not pay a tithe at all? If that is termed gullible, then chai--- I want to be gullible for the rest of my unexplainable but undeniable blessed life. 2 Likes |

Nairaland / General / Mutiny: 21 Witnesses To Testify Against 19 Soldiers by emperortony: 1:35am On Jul 16, 2014 |
Twenty-one witnesses have been lined up to testify against 18 soldiers who are being court-martialled for alleged mutiny. They were said to have opened fire at the utility vehicle of the General Commanding Officer of the Army’s 7 Division in Maiduguri, Borno State, Ahmadu Mohammed, on May 14. The witnesses include a Major General, two Brigadiers-General, three colonels, two Lieutenant- Colonels, two Majors, and three Captains. Others are a Lieutenant, two second Lieutenants, one Master Warrant Officer, three Sergeants and a private soldier. The court is also empowered to call up other witness(es) if the need arises during the proceedings. The names of the witnesses are being withheld following concerns that revealing their identities might endanger them and compromise the ongoing trial of the soldiers. The witnesses are expected to back the claims of the prosecution and tell the court-martial that the suspects indeed committed the offences for which they have been charged. The Commander, Army Headquarters Garrison, B.T. Ndiomu, had on July 20 convened a General Court Martial, GCM, to try the 18 soldiers for allegedly rebelling against the army, disobeying their superiors, threatening the lives of their commander and bringing the army to disrepute. The court martial, which is already underway, is being presided over by C.C Okonkwo, a Brigadier General. The army accused the soldiers of attempting to kill the GOC, Mohammed, who was immediately redeployed to another formation after the incident. The soldiers had blamed Mohammed, a Major General, for the deaths of their colleagues killed in an ambush near Chibok where nearly 300 schoolgirls were kidnapped. The military court is made up of seven members, two waiting members, a judge advocate and two prosecuting officers. Others members include: a liaison officer, a contact officer, two officers authorised to sign any amendment, convening officer and eight other soldiers who form a court secretariat.
