Alhajiemeritus: @empiree No grading for cut off submissions? At least to know our scores. And I noticed the total number of participants is 9 and not 10. That, unfortunately will be for my educational purposes. But let's see. I may publish them while credits are being disseminated out but they have nothing to do with grading if i publish them. As for number of participants, Lanrexlan was the first submission but got banned. |

ANSWER:- Al-Tahawi made a specific point of mentioning that Allah is not in need of the Arsh and those who carry it (the angels as established in the Quran) They are all in need of Allah, as it is by Allah's Qudroh (power). And it is for this reason that Al-Tahawi specifically mentioned that Allah is Mustaghni (Not in need) of the throne and what is below it.(PASS) evidence established Question 7
On the day of Judgement, man wishes to return to 'dust' which is his place of origin. If he is wishing to return to dust to escape punishment, then, why is Satan who was created from Fire going to Hellfire for punishment? (brainer). ANSWER:- Although man was created from clay, a little of it will harm him; if he is buried beneath it he will die, and if he is struck with it (such as with baked clay), he will be wounded or will die. So it not strange to think that although the jinn were created from fire, they will be punished with the Fire of Hell.
Assuming Shaytaan were fire – for the sake of argument – and Allaah wanted to punish him with the Fire of Hell, then Allaah is Able to do all things, and He is not incapable of anything, may He be glorified and exalted. your explanation is not convincing but you are through bcuz of @underlined[b](PASS)[/b] QUESTION 8

If he is wishing to return to dust to escape punishment, then, why is Satan who was created from Fire going to Hellfire for punishment? (brainer). (Allaah) said (to Iblees): ‘Get out from this (Paradise), disgraced and expelled. Whoever of them (mankind) will follow you, then surely, I will fill Hell with you all’ [al-A’raaf 7:18]
The fact that the jinn were created from fire does not necessarily mean that they are fire now, just as man was created from dust but he is not dust now. Abu’l-Wafa’ ibn Aqeel said: The devils and jinn are attributed to fire just as man is attributed to dust, clay and baked clay. What is meant in the case of man is that he originates from clay, but a human being is not clay in a real sense, rather he used to be clay. Similarly the jinn were fire in the beginning. End quote. Laqt al-Marjaan fi Ahkaam al-Jaan, p. 33, quoted in ‘Aalim al-Jinn wa’l-Shayaateen, p. 58. Although man was created from clay, a little of it will harm him; if he is buried beneath it he will die, and if he is struck with it (such as with baked clay), he will be wounded or will die. What Tahawi said about Allah are as follow:
1. Allah is One, without any partners 2. There is nothing like Him. 3. There is nothing that can overwhelm Him. 4. There is no god other than Him. 5. He is the Eternal without a beginning and enduring without end 6. He will never perish or come to an end. 7. Nothing happens except what He wills. 8. No imagination can conceive of Him and no understanding can comprehend Him. 9. He is different from any created being. 10. He is living and never dies and is eternally active and never sleeps. 11. He creates without His being in need to do so and provides for His creation without any effort. 12. He causes death with no fear and restores to life without difficulty. 13. He has always existed together with His attributes since before creation. Bringing creation into existence did not add anything to His attributes that was not already there. As He was, together with His attributes, in pre-eternity, so He will remain throughout endless time. 14. It was not only after the act of creation that He could be described as “the Creator” nor was it only by the act of origination that He could he described as “the Originator.” 15. He was always the Lord even when there was nothing to be Lord of, and always the Creator even when there was no creation. 16. In the same way that He is the “Bringer to life of the dead,” after He has brought them to life a first time, and deserves this name before bringing them to life, so too He deserves the name of “Creator” before He has created them. 17. This is because He has the power to do everything, everything is dependent on Him, everything is easy for Him, and He does not need anything. “There is nothing like Him and He is the Hearer, the Seer.” (al-Shura 42:11) 18. He created creation with His knowledge. 19. He appointed destinies for those He created. 20. He allotted to them fixed life spans. 21. Nothing about them was hidden from Him before He created them, and He knew everything that they would do before He created them. 22. He ordered them to obey Him and forbade them to disobey Him 23. Everything happens according to His degree and will, and His will is accomplished. The only will that people have is what He wills for them. What He wills for them occurs and what He does not will, does not occur. 24. He gives guidance to whomever He wills, and protects them, and keeps them safe from harm, out of His generosity; and He leads astray whomever He wills, and abases them, and afflicts them, out of His justice. 25. All of them are subject to His will either through His generosity or His justice. 26. He is Exalted beyond having opposites or equals. 27. No one can ward off His decree or delay His command or overpower His affairs. 28. We believe in all of this and are certain that everything comes from Him. 29. And we are certain that Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) is His chosen Servant and elect Prophet and His Messenger with whom He is well pleased,(PASS)evidence found Question 7 On the day of Judgement, man wishes to return to ‘dust’ which is his place of origin. If he is wishing to return to dust to escape punishment, then, why is Satan who was created from Fire going to Hellfire for punishment? (brainer). Note: I will counter your argument if it doesn’t make sense or valid.
Answer: Dust is not fire and fire is not dust. Dust sullies, fire burns. The two elements will invariably be true to their respective natures, no matter what, except Allah wills otherwise. By way of illustration: if a man were to fall inside a puddle or muck his physical appearance would get soiled, despite being a creation from that very element. So also if shaytan is thrown into fire, the element from which he was created, he will definitely burn. These two creations don’t actually represent the living manifestations of the respective elements from which they were made i.e when you look at man you don’t actually see a living dust and if you saw shaytan you wouldn’t be seeing a living fire either. This fact shows that these two creations both are different in atomic or physical configurations from their respective source elements. In conclusion, Allah says to shaytan in Al Araf vs 18, “I will surely fill hell with you, all together. ” This is a promise from Allah SWT and he never fails in his promises. so there is no hiding place for shaytan that day. He will be cast into fire and will certainly burn. (PASS) Question 8 i. The Quran is divided into thirty divisions, each part is called a juz. What is the name of the last juz in the Quran? ii. ii. Imam Tahawi said about Allah in his book, (Belief). what was it?
ANSWER:- He said:- والعرش والكرسي حق، وهو مستعنن عن العرش وما دونه محيط بكل شيء وفوقه Al-Tahawi made a specific point of mentioning that Allah is not in need of the Arsh and those who carry it (the angels as established in the Quran) They are all in need of Allah, as it is by Allah's Qudroh (power). And it is for this reason that Al-Tahawi specifically mentioned that Allah is Mustaghni (Not in need) of the throne and what is below it.[PASS]evidence established Question 7
On the day of Judgement, man wishes to return to 'dust' which is his place of origin. If he is wishing to return to dust to escape punishment, then, why is Satan who was created from Fire going to Hellfire for punishment? (brainer). Note: I will counter your argument if it doesn't make sense or valid.
ANSWER:- The fact that the jinn were created from fire does not necessarily mean that they are fire now, just as man was created from dust but he is not dust now.
According to ibn Aqeel:
The devils and jinn are attributed to fire just as man is attributed to dust, clay and baked clay. What is meant in the case of man is that he originates from clay, but a human being is not clay in a real sense, rather he used to be clay. Similarly the jinn were fire in the beginning.
Allaah created the jinn from fire, but they are not fire now. There is a great deal of evidence to that effect, such as the following:
1 – It was narrated from ‘Aa’ishah that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was praying, then the Shaytaan came to him and he seized him, threw him to the ground and strangled him. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Until I felt the coolness of his Ptongue on my hand. Were it not for the prayer of my brother Sulaymaan, he would have been tied up this morning so that the people could see him.” Narrated by al-Nasaa’i in al-Sunan al-Kubra, 6/442; classed as saheeh by Ibn Hibbaan, 6/115
2 – It was narrated that Abu’l-Darda’ said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) stood (in prayer) and we heard him say: “I seek refuge with Allaah from you.” Then he said: “I curse you with the curse of Allaah,” three times, and he reached out his hand as if to take something. When he had finished praying, we said: “O Messenger of Allaah, we heard you say something in your prayer that we have never heard you say before, and we saw you reaching out your hand.” He said: “The enemy of Allaah Iblees came with a brand of fire to throw it in my face, so I said, ‘I seek refuge with Allaah from you,’ three times, then I said: ‘I curse you with the full curse of Allaah,’ but he did not go back, three times. Then I wanted to seize him, and by Allaah, were it not for the prayer of our brother Sulaymaan, this morning he would have been tied up and the children of the people of Madeenah would have played with him.” Narrated by Muslim, 542.
From these two hadeeths it is clear to us that the jinn are not fire now. This is indicated by the coolness that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) felt from the tongue of the Shaytaan, as stated in the first hadeeth. If the Shaytaan was still in the form of fire, he would not have needed to bring a brand of fire to throw in the face of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and the children would not have been able to play with him.
3 – The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The Shaytaan flows through the son of Adam as blood flows.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (1933) and Muslim (2175).
If the Shaytaan was fire, he would burn man, because the Shaytaan is inside him. So we can see the difference between the Shaytaan being fire and being created from fire. [PASS] Question 8

If he is wishing to return to dust to escape punishment, then, why is Satan who was created from Fire going to Hellfire for punishment? (brainer). Note: I will counter your argument if it doesn't make sense or valid.[/b] Answer: The fact that the jinn were created from fire does not necessarily mean that they are fire now, just as man was created from dust but he is not dust now.

Although man was created from clay, a little of it will harm him; if he is buried beneath it he will die, and if he is struck with it (such as with baked clay), he will be wounded or will die. So it not strange to think that although the jinn were created from fire, they will be punished with the Fire of Hell.

It is related that some the atheists denied the existence of the Creator in the presence of Jafar al-Sadiq. Jafar said to him, “Have you ever seen the sea and its awesomeness?”
Here, Jafar used an example that the man would relate to. This man probably lived far away and had travelled by sea. There may have been signs of this on him. It shows us the need to be attentive to people and their backgrounds.
The man said, “Yes, I have travelled by sea and there was a storm and the ship sank and the sailors drowned. I clung onto some planks of wood, then even the planks went away from me. I was pushed away by the clashing of the waves until I reached the shore.”
Imam Jafar said: “You were initially relying on the ship, the planks, and the sailors, but when these things left you did you still hope for safety?” The man said “Yes”.
Imam Jafar said: “From whom did you hope for safety?”
The man was silent.

true2god: You are the one going from poles to pillar trying to clear up the mess in the Quran. If the Quran is 100% contradiction-free we won't be here going back and forth but the opposite is true, which the Quran itself acknowledged (Quran 4:82, emphasises on the word MUCH CONTRADICTION). I even did a screenshot on the irregularities between the Hafs and the warsh Quran but you intentionally ignored it (check page 14 of this thread). Your attempt to ignore the screenshots won't make my points go away, I will always refer you back to them for your comments and clarification. you based your confusion on a verse and you are looking for ways to further confuse yourself. Yet you didn't actually provide alleged contradictions. Whose fault is that?. I wouldn't skip if you didn't post irrelevant long winded posts to try to skillfully overwhelm me with copy paste from all these anti Islam websites. So now I have seen your screenshoted English translation. How many times will I tell you that Quran is only in Arabic?. Translations are never Quran. You have to refute Arabic Quran not English. So this alone refuted your argument You asked for the meaning of contradictions; in a layman understanding it is the combination of ideas opposed to one another. And the screenshot I did, which you deliberately ignored, contained these 'opposing ideas'. refer up there. Again Quran is in arabic. If you can't screenshot Quran Arabic text with varying contradictions then you have no claim. Quran 12:2 Sahih International: Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. Pickthall: Lo! We have revealed it, a Lecture in Arabic, that ye may understand. Yusuf Ali: We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an, in order that ye may learn wisdom. Shakir: Surely We have revealed it-- an Arabic Quran-- that you may understand. The scholarly response, obviously a 'copy and paste' response, does not address the issue at hand, rather it makes your argument more complicated because you want to dig and dig to get a possible explanation which rather proved elusive. Instead of you to address the inconsistencies between the warsh and the hafs Quran, what you are doing is trying to deflect as much as you can, and fortunately, I will keep bringing it up for you to clarify the obvious contradictions. In case you have forgotten, I will paste the screenshot again, on this page, for you to address them.
Asalama lekum! See, I can't help you. My responses would not be any different from consensus. If you have already made up your mind why should I waste my time?. My post explained to you why most recitation today are hafs but you still talking about contradictions. Are you here to reason or deliberate attempt to antigonize facts presented?. Once again, Quran is in Arabic. You need to stop doing yourself disservice by quoting English translation. This is not Bible, sir. If we have problems with translations, we simply refer to original Arabic text where nothing goes wrong. Translators used different choice of words. Please stop using translated text to proof your point. And if you don't understand Arabic then, you are not in position to determine contradictions. Quran was revealed in be Arabic not English |

true2god: What difference does it make it you respond to the 'Hafs and warsh' questions now or after ramadan? Do you need enough time to do your research and equally ask your sheik? That's OK by me as long as you come up with something reasonable, which I doubt you can.
The contradictions we are dealing with now is the 'phase 1', that is, among different readings (like Hafs, warsh, duri, etc). After that we come to the 'phase 2', that is, inside the Quran itself. Allah was so 'honest' that he confessed that we will not see MUCH CONTRADICTIONS but Muslims, like you, want to correct Allah that he actually tried to say NO CONTRADICTION. This is a very great 'shirk', you need to ask Allah to forgive you.
I will wait till after ramadan in case you don't respond on time. Sometimes i just feel bad for you bcuz this is the least you should argue about. It is very sad but i know you are arguing this bcuz your Bible is messed up. Yes, messed up. How could you consider ahrûf (Hafs, warsh,) in which the Qur'an was revealed contradictions?. It seems to me you guys have new meaning of the word "contradiction". It is a well-known fact that there are seven different ahrûf in which the Qur'an was revealed. In the Islamic tradition, this basis can be traced back to a number of hadîths concerning the revelation of the Qur'an in seven ahrûf (singular harf). Some of the examples of these hadîths are as follows: Abû Hurairah said: The Messenger of God(SAW) said: "The Qur'an was sent down in seven ahruf. Disputation concerning the Qur'an is unbelief" - he said this three times - "and you should put into practice what you know of it, and leave what you do not know of it to someone who does." Abû Hurairah said: The Messenger of God(P) said: "An All-knowing, Wise, Forgiving, Merciful sent down the Qur'an in seven ahruf." Abdullâh Ibn Masud said: The Messenger of God(P) said: "The Qur'an was sent down in seven ahruf. Each of these ahruf has an outward aspect (zahr) and an inward aspect (batn); each of the ahruf has a border, and each border has a lookout." The meaning of this hadîth is explained as: As for the Prophet's(P) words concerning the Qur'an, each of the ahruf has a border, it means that each of the seven aspects has a border which God has marked off and which no one may overstep. And as for his words Each of the ahruf has an outward aspect (zahr) and an inward aspect (batn), its outward aspect is the ostensive meaning of the recitation, and its inward aspect is its interpretation, which is concealed. And by his words each border ...... has a lookout he means that for each of the borders which God marked off in the Qur'an - of the lawful and unlawful, and its other legal injunctions - there is a measure of God's reward and punishment which surveys it in the Hereafter, and inspects it ...... at the Resurrection ...... And in another hadîth Abdullâh Ibn Masud said: The Messenger of God(P) said: "The first Book came down from one gate according to one harf, but the Qur'an came down from seven gates according to seven ahruf: prohibiting and commanding, lawful and unlawful, clear and ambiguous, and parables. So, allow what it makes lawful, proscribe what it makes unlawful, do what it commands you to do, forbid what it prohibits, be warned by its parables, act on its clear passages, trust in its ambiguous passages." And they said: "We believe in it; it is all from our Lord." And Abû Qilaba narrated: It has reached me that the Prophet(P) said: "The Qur'an was sent down according to seven ahruf: command and prohibition, encouragement of good and discouragement of evil, dialectic, narrative, and parable." These above hadîths serve as evidence that the Qur'an was revealed in seven ahruf. The definition of the term ahruf has been the subject of much scholarly discussion and is included in the general works of the Qur'an. The forms matched the dialects of following seven tribes: Quraysh, Hudhayl, Thaqîf, Hawâzin, Kinânah, Tamîm and Yemen. The revelation of the Qur'an in seven different ahruf made its recitation and memorization much easier for the various tribes. For example, the phrase 'alayhim' (on them) was read by some 'alayhumoo' and the word siraat (path, bridge) was read as ziraat and mu'min (believer) as moomin. So ahruf is more about ascent/dialect not contradictions The Qur'an continued to be read according to the seven ahruf until midway through Caliph 'Uthman's rule when some confusion arose in the outlying provinces concerning the Qur'an's recitation. Some Arab tribes had began to boast about the superiority of their ahruf and a rivalry began to develop. At the same time, some new Muslims also began mixing the various forms of recitation out of ignorance. Caliph 'Uthman decided to make official copies of the Qur'an according to the dialect of the Quraysh and send them along with the Qur'anic reciters to the major centres of Islam. This decision was approved by Sahaabah and all unofficial copies of the Qur'an were destroyed. Following the distribution of the official copies, all the other ahruf were dropped and the Qur'an began to be read in only one harf. Thus, the Qur'an which is available throughout the world today is written and recited only according to the harf of Quraysh. to be continued...... |

true2god: So in order words you are helping Allah to clear up the inconsistencies in the Quran. That's a nice job and Allah will be proud of you. You just decided to ignore the contradictions between the warsh and the Hafs Quran. Are you afraid of touching it? Or are you also confused like Allah?
I begged you to explained the hadith below;
Narrated Aisha: I used to look down upon those ladies who had given themselves to Allah's Apostle and I used to say, "Can a lady give herself (to a man)?" But when Allah revealed: "You (O Muhammad) can postpone (the turn of) whom you will of them (your wives), and you may receive any of them whom you will; and there is no blame on you if you invite one whose turn you have set aside (temporarily).' (33.51) I said (to the Prophet), "I feel that your Lord hastens in fulfilling your wishes and desires." (Sahih Bukhari 6:60:311).
You can chose between the first and second request: anyone convenient for you.
Asalama lekum! reas on your claim is so daft is that you are quoting source from outside Quran to show "inconsistencies" in the Quran but you didnt actually point out alleged inconsistencies from Quran itself. sagenaija: NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT TWO DIFFERENT VERSES USING THE SAME WORD! WHAT WE ARE SAYING IS ONE VERSE IN TWO DIFFERENT VERSIONS HAVING DIFFERENT WORDS!
I was trying to make things simple but its like you’re trying avoid the obvious or you’re being deceitful – trying to make readers believe something that you know (or have been self-brainwashed to think) is not true. A common trick is for you Moslems to say that the Koran and the Hadith can only be understood in Arabic. Is Allah so boxed into a corner that he cannot communicate with his creatures in any of their languages?
Now back to our matter: Did Hafs and Warsh use the same Arabic word? Did Hafs and Warsh both use “qatala”? Or Did Hafs and Warsh both use “qutil”?
If they BOTH used the same word and that same word in Arabic has different meanings how on earth did Allah who CLAIMED he set out to make the Koran CLEAR cause such a CONFUSION!
If they used DIFFERENT words how can you, Empir.ee, claim that the Koran in Arabic is one!
Do you see one more DILEMMA for you Moslems to get over? you don't understand Arabic, do you?. Your will be waste of time for me should we go further from here. You don't understand Arabic needless to say Quran, do you? |

true2god: I have no time to entertain your deflection and distraction techniques this time around. We are not discussing a single misguided retired cardinal who shamelessly called Mohammed a prophet. The official stand of the Catholic church worldwide, as at today, is that Mohammed is a false prophet. I will rather stick to Catholic church's official statements and doctrines with respect to the person of Mohammed than an isolated 'cardinal' who probably didn't know whether an hadith existed. I won't respond to your Catholic cardinal propaganda again so that you don't drag me to another discussion. I am not a Catholic.
I thought Muslims claim that Quran are the same, why are you complaining about the translation I am using? As a matter of fairness, I used the translation you provided on this thread with respect to Quran 4:82 so why are you now complaining about your own information? For the benefit of doubt, let's see how other translators render this same ayah:
Asad : Will they not, then, try to understand this Qur'an? Had it issued from any but God, they would surely have found in it MANY an inner contradiction!
Khattab : Do they not then reflect on the Quran? Had it been from anyone other than Allah, they would have certainly found in it MANY inconsistencies.
Malik : Why don't they research the Qur'an? Don't they realize that if it was from someone other than Allah, they would find MANY discrepancies in it.
Pickthall : Will they not then ponder on the Qur'an? If it had been from other than Allah they would have found therein MUCH incongruity.
Yusuf Ali : Do they not consider the Qur'an (with care)? Had it been from other than Allah they would surely have found therein MUCH discrepancy.
Sahih International (Saudi official quran) Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah , they would have found within it MUCH contradiction.
I have given you 6 translations saying the same thing. The translators have scholarship in Arabic language, which I doubt you do, so their translations are credible and they collaborated each other. If you are not intellectually dishonest, you won't even bring this up as an issue. So according to your own Quran, there will be discrepancies, which I have shown you, but they won't be MUCH or MANY (Qur'an 4:82).
You completely ignored the discrepancies I screenshot between the Hafs and the warsh Quran. So before you quote any ayah for me, look at it critically so that I won't use it against you.
You equally ignore the hadith narration I provided with respect to Aisha's view on Mohammed's alleged revelation:
Narrated Aisha: I used to look down upon those ladies who had given themselves to Allah's Apostle and I used to say, "Can a lady give herself (to a man)?" But when Allah revealed: "You (O Muhammad) can postpone (the turn of) whom you will of them (your wives), and you may receive any of them whom you will; and there is no blame on you if you invite one whose turn you have set aside (temporarily).' (33.51) I said (to the Prophet), "I feel that your Lord hastens in fulfilling your wishes and desires." (Sahih Bukhari 6:60:311).
I need you to comment on Aisha's observation.
Asalama lekum! YOu will forever argue this. MUCH or MANY is not our problem at all. Matter of fact they are valid. Ikhtilaf (singular) means "iyapa enu" in yoruba language. If you connect it in yoruba, it means you would have found therein orisirisi iyapa enu. The reason you can never understand is bcus you already made up your mind on a very simple issue. You chose to understand it differently to mean MUCH discrepancies suggest there are some discrepancies in it according to you. This is your understanding. In the ayah it actually used plural form, Ikhtilafan. "fan" is whats driving you crazy. The verse is clear but i dont understand what exactly is your problem?. I am not surprised by the way. It is evangelism thing. |

The 'rule of thumb' with regards to belief in Allah is.....? Ans: The Shahadah: ii. Imam Tahawi said about Allah in his book, (Belief). what was it? Ans:Allah is One, without any partners. There is nothing like Him. There is nothing that can overwhelm Him. There is no god other than Him. He is the Eternal without a beginning and enduring without end. He will never perish or come to an end. Nothing happens except what He wills. No imagination can conceive of Him and no understanding can comprehend Him. He is different from any created being. He is living and never dies and is eternally active and never sleeps. He creates without His being in need to do so and provides for His creation without any effort. He causes death with no fear and restores to life without difficulty. He has always existed together with His attributes since before creation. Bringing creation into existence did not add anything to His attributes that was not already there. As He was, together with His attributes, in pre-eternity, so He will remain throughout endless time. It was not only after the act of creation that He could be described as 'the Creator' nor was it only by the act of origination that He could he described as 'the Originator'. He was always the Lord even when there was nothing to be Lord of, and always the Creator even when there was no creation. In the same way that He is the 'Bringer to life of the dead', after He has brought them lo life a first time, and deserves this name before bringing them to life, so too He deserves the name of 'Creator' before He has created them. This is because He has the power to do everything, everything is dependent on Him, everything is easy for Him, and He does not need anything; "There is nothing like Him and He is the Hearer, the Seer." [Al-Qur'an 42:11] He created creation with His knowledge. He appointed destinies for those He created. He allotted to them fixed life spans. Nothing about them was hidden from Him before He created them, and He knew everything that they would do before He created them. He ordered them to obey Him and forbade them to disobey Him. Everything happens according to His degree and will, and His will is accomplished. The only will that people have is what He wills for them. What He wills for them occurs and what He does not will, does not occur. He gives guidance to whoever He wills, and protects them, and keeps them safe from harm, out of His generosity; and He leads astray whoever He wills, and abases them, and afflicts them, out of His justice. All of them are subject to His will between either His generosity or His justice. He is exalted beyond having opposites or equals. No one can ward off His decree or put back His command or overpower His affairs. @empiree Quoted correctly now I guess. You already quoted my questions 7 -10 |

ii. What is the name of individual who was sent to guide the Assyrian people?. ANS: Prophet Yunus (Jonah) was sent to the Assyrians. Nineveh (Naynawa) was the capital of the Assyrian Empire.
‘If only there had been a single township (among those We warned), which believed, so its faith should have profited it, except the People of Jonah? When they believed, We removed from them the Chastisement of Ignominy in the life of the present, and permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while”. Q10:98
Ibn Kathir on Q10:98: "The point is that between Musa and Yunus, there were no nation in its entirety that believed except the people of Yunus, the people of Naynawa (Nineveh). And they only believed because they feared that the torment from which their Messenger warned them, might strike them. They actually witnessed its signs. So they cried to Allah and asked for help. They engaged in humility in invoking Him. They brought their children and cattle and asked Allah to lift the torment from which their Prophet had warned them. As a result, Allah sent down His mercy and removed the scourge from them and gave them respite”.
And remember Zunnün, when he departed in wrath: He imagined that We had no power over him! But he cried through the depths of darkness, "There is no god but Thou: glory to Thee: I was indeed wrong!" So We listened to him: and delivered him from distress: and thus do We deliver those who have faith. Q21:87-88 Ibn Kathir on Q21:87-88:
This story is mentioned here, and in Surat As-Saffat and Surah Nun. Yunus bin Matta, upon him be peace, was sent by Allah to the people of Nineveh, which was a town in the area of Mawsil [in northern Iraq] ... (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Abridged, Volume 6, Surat Al-Isra', Verse 39 to the end of Surat Al-Mu'minun, first edition July 2000, p. 481; bold emphasis ours)
So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). When he ran to the ship (fully) laden, He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was of the rebutted. Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. Q37:139-148
In interpreting this Ayah, Qatadah said: ‘No town has denied the truth and then believed when they saw the scourge, and then their belief benefited them, with the exception of the people of Yunus. When they lost their prophet and they thought that the scourge was close upon them, Allah sent through their hearts the desire to repent. So they wore woolen fabrics and they separated each animal from its offspring. They then cried out to Allah for forty nights. When Allah saw the truth in their hearts and that they were sincere in their repentance and regrets, He removed the scourge from them.’ Qatadah said: ‘It is mentioned that the people of Yunus were in Naynawa, the land of Mosul.’ This was also reported from Ibn Mas'ud, Mujahid, Sai'd bin Jubayr and others from the Salaf." (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Abridged, Volume 4, Surat Al-A’raf to the end of Surah Yunus, first edition May 2000, p. 660)
Question 5 i. Milestone in its chapter 2, an important subject was discussed. What is the title of the chapter?. ANS: The title of the chapter is “The Nature of the Quranic Method’. This dealt with the Makkan portion of the Quran revealed to Rasul (SAW) with the primary and greatest question of faith with two main aspects namely the Divine and human aspects and the relationship between them.
The aspect of man’s existence in the universe, his position and relationship to others, the universe, his ultimate goal and his relationship with Allah.
Man was made to realise that a non-arab wasn’t more important than an arab and vise versa. The Quran reveals to man the secret of his existence as well as that of the universe surrounding him, who he is, where he came from, the purpose of his existence, who administers the universe he has come to know, who alternates night and day, as well as how to relate to his Creator.
Man’s existence will continue to depend on his relations to others, the universe and Allah. This was why it took 13 years of the Makkan period to detail and expound on this very important spheres of man’s life and existence.

ii. After Allah, islamic political system makes authority responsible for who? ANS: Surah An Nisa Q4:59 “O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you.”
After Allah, the Islamic political system makes authority responsible for the Messenger (SAW) and then those in authority, under these two strict regulations:
"there is no obedience in sin" "do not obey a creature against his creator" For Sunnis, uulaa al-amr are the rulers (Caliphs and kings) but for Shi'is this refers to the Imams. Momen, Moojan, Introduction to Shi'i Islam, Yale University Press, 1985 p.192
Question 6 i. The 'rule of thumb' with regards to belief in Allah is.....? ANS: He (Allah) is one and only, and not to associate partners (shirk) with Him in His Lordship. Surah Al Anaam Q6:82
O you who believe! Believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Book which He revealed to His Messenger, and the Book which He revealed to those before him. Whoso disbelieves in Allah, His angels, His Books, and His Messengers and the Last Day, he verily has wandered far astray.” Surah An Nisa Q4:136
ii. Imam Tahawi said about Allah in his book, (Belief). what was it? ANS: Imam Tahawi said about Allah in his book (Belief) that: “Allah is exalted from limits, boundaries and framework, limbs and body parts; and the six directions do not encompass Allah like they do for his creation”.
Question 7 On the day of Judgement, man wishes to return to 'dust' which is his place of origin. ANS: Satan who was created from fire will be punished with hellfire because this is a solemn promise from and by Allah to do so in the Quran as follows: Surah Al A’raaf Q7:18 Allah said to Iblis: ‘Get out from this (Paradise), disgraced and expelled. Whoever of them (mankind) will follow you, then surely, I will fill Hell with you all’”
Surah Saad Q38:84-85 Allah said: “The truth is — and the truth I say That I will fill Hell with you Iblis (Satan)and those of them (mankind) that follow you, together”
Surah Al Jinn Q72:15 “And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell”
Al-Tabari said: “This is an oath from Allah, may He be glorified and exalted; He swore that whoever among the sons of Adam followed the enemy of Allah Iblis and obeyed him, He would fill Hell with them all, i.e., with the disbelievers among the sons of Adam who followed Iblis, and with Iblis and his offspring”. Tafsir al-Tabari, 8/139 “Although man was created from clay, a little of it will harm him; if he is buried beneath it he will die, and if he is struck with it (such as with baked clay), he will be wounded or will die. So, it not strange to think that although the jinn were created from fire, they will be punished with the Fire of Hell”. Laqt al-Marjaan fi Ahkaam al-Jaan, p. 33, quoted in ‘Aalim al-Jinn wa’l-Shayaateen, p. 58.

Quoted you so that it is not edited Alhajiemeritus: Question 7 On the day of Judgement, man wishes to return to 'dust' which is his place of origin. If he is wishing to return to dust to escape punishment, then, why is Satan who was created from Fire going to Hellfire for punishment? (brainer). Note: I will counter your argument if it doesn't make sense or valid. Ans. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The Shaytaan flows through the son of Adam as blood flows.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (1933) and Muslim (2175). If the Shaytaan was fire, he would burn man, because the Shaytaan is inside him. So we can see the difference between the Shaytaan being fire and being created from fire. If the Shaytaan were fire now – for the sake of argument – and Allaah wanted to punish him with the Fire of Hell, then Allaah is Able to do all things, and He is not incapable of anything, may He be glorified and exalted. And Allaah knows best Question 8 i. The Quran is divided into thirty divisions, each part is called a juz. What is the name of the last juz in the Quran? Ans: Juz Amah ii. What did famous Imam Ja'far As-Sadiq say about Allah? Ans: He who claims Allah is in anything on or from anything commits shirk. Because if he had been on anything, he would have been carried, if he was in anything he whould have been contained, if he was from anything, he would have been a creation. iii. "This is not the face of a liar". This statement was made in reference to the prophet(SAW) by who? Ans:Abdullah ibn Salam
